Abstract
This paper presents original results from the unique analysis of the porous structure of activated carbons (ACs) produced through the chemical activation of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyacrylonitrile (PAN), as well as from a physical mixture of both polymers. An advanced method of adsorbent surface analysis-more specifically, the new method of numerical clustering-based adsorption analysis regarding the surface heterogeneity, pore geometry and adsorption energy distribution parameters-allowed us to obtain information about the porous structure of the ACs from the synthetic polymers mentioned above. As the results showed, ACs obtained with PAN were characterised by a first adsorbed layer with the highest volume. When the surface heterogeneity, highly desirable in most advanced adsorption processes, is taken into account, the materials with the best surface properties in both potassium carbonate (K2CO3) and potassium hydroxide (KOH) activation processes were the ACs obtained with a mass proportion of PET to PAN of 1:3, which were characterised by a low degree of surface heterogeneity and a first adsorbed layer presenting a relatively large volume.

Abstract
Through the electrodeposition technique, toxic metals in wastewater can be removed and deposited on a chosen substrate with excellent selectivity. In this work, we use this technique to extract lead cations from simulated wastewater by using fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) substrate at various temperatures. In situ tracking of lead nucleation at advanced stages has been achieved by chronoamperometry. According to the experimental results, the theoretical models developed to study the kinetic growth of lead deposits in 2D and 3D are in good agreement. Nucleation rate and growth rate constants, for example, were found to be strongly influenced by temperature. Cottrell's equation is used to calculate the diffusion coefficient. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and energy-dispersiveX-ray techniques were used to investigate and characterize the lead deposits. The reported results could provide insight into the optimization of electrodeposition processes for heavy metal recovery from wastewater and electronic wastes.

Preparation and Characterization of Insulating Panels from Recycled Polylaminate (Tetra Pak) Materials. SUSTAINABILITY 2022. Abstract
Eco-sustainability and the reuse of materials are highly topical issues. In fact, in recent years, much study and research has been developed on this aspect, making the eco-sustainability of materials a real need. Polylaminate containers, more commonly called Tetra Pak containers, represent the most used packaging in the world. This work proposes a new strategy for the reuse of discarded polylaminate containers in order to create panels that can be used in construction and in particular as insulating panels. The proposed thermal method has been optimized in terms of operating variables such as time, temperature, pressure, number of polylaminate sheets. The results obtained show that the proposed thermal method is suitable for obtaining panels with characteristics suitable for use in green building. The advantage of the thermal method is that it does not use chemical or other binders and moreover uses only and exclusively sheets of recycled polylaminate.

Abstract
Clivia miniata (CM), is an important ornamental plant and has been widely cultivated all over the world. However, there are no reports on Clivia miniata-based porous biomass carbon (CMBC). In this study, for the first time, CM leaves were used to generate porous biomass carbon via NaOH activation. The structures and surface characteristics were determined using scanning electron microscopy, N2 adsorption/desorption, TGA, FT-IR, X-ray diffraction, Raman and X-ray photoelectron spectra tests. CMBC has a large SSA (2716 m2/g) and a total pore volume of 1.95 cm3/g. To test the adsorption performance via adsorption experiments, the cationic and synthetic dye, malachite green (MG), was utilized as the adsorption model. The CMBC had a greatest adsorption capacity of 2622.9 mg/g at a pH value of 8 and had a fastest adsorption capacity of 1161.7 mg/g in the first 5 min. To explain MG adsorption into CMBC, the Freundlich isotherm and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model were used. The adsorption mechanism of MG was also investigated. After 10 cycles, the adsorption efficiency of CMBC to MG could still reach 85.3%. In summary, CMBC has excellent potential in dyeing wastewater pollution treatment.
