Soret & Dufour and Triple Stratification Effect on MHD Flow with Velocity Slip towards a Stretching Cylinder

The phenomenon of convective flow with heat and mass transfer has been studied extensively due to its applications in various fields. The effects of nonlinear thermal radiation (NLTR), slip, thermal-diffusion (Soret) and diffusion-thermo (Dufour) on magenoto-hydrodynamic (MHD) flow towards a stretching cylinder in the presence of triple stratification (TSF) are investigated in this paper. The governing equations are transformed into an ODE by suitable transformations. The homotopy analysis method (HAM) is used to solve the ODE. The revamping of fluid flow, and heat transfer due to the presence of the Soret and Dufour effect, concentration slip and concentration stratification are analyzed. The temperature and local Sherwood number increases as the Dufour number rises, whereas the local Nusselt number decreases. While elevating the Soret number, the Sherwood number diminishes, whereas the concentration profile rises. The thermal boundary layer thickness enhances when thermal radiation increases. The rate of solute transport reduces while the concentration slip increases.

The Least Squares Homotopy Perturbation Method for Systems of Differential Equations with Application to a Blood Flow Model

In this paper, least squares homotopy perturbation is presented as a straightforward and accurate method to compute approximate analytical solutions for systems of ordinary differential equations. The method is employed to solve a problem related to a laminar flow of a viscous fluid in a semi-porous channel, which may be used to model the blood flow through a blood vessel, taking into account the effects of a magnetic field. The numerical computations show that the method is both easy to use and very accurate compared to the other methods previously used to solve the given problem.

Applications of Cattaneo-Christov fluxes on modelling the boundary value problem of Prandtl fluid comprising variable properties

Stretched flows have numerous applications in different industrial, biomedical and engineering processes. Current research is conducted to examine the flow phenomenon of Prandtl fluid model over a moveable surface. The phenomenon of mass and thermal transportation is based on generalized theory of Cattaneo–Christov which considers the involvement of relaxation times. In addition to these, variable characteristics of thermal conductivity and diffusion coefficient are considered as a function of temperature. The physical problem in Cartesian coordinate system is modeled via boundary layer theory which yields a coupled system of partial differential equations. Group scaling transportation is applied to model these PDEs system. The converted equations have been approximated via optimal homotopic scheme. The efficiency and validity of used approach has been shown by computing the error analysis and establishing a comparative study. It is noted that the enhancement in magnetic parameter plays a controlling role for velocity field and it augment the concentration and temperature fields. Furthermore, increase in thermal relaxation parameter and Prandtl number maintains the fluid temperature.

Magnetic Rotating Flow of a Hybrid Nano-Materials Ag-MoS2 and Go-MoS2 in C2H6O2-H2O Hybrid Base Fluid over an Extending Surface Involving Activation Energy: FE Simulation

Numeric simulations are performed for a comparative study of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) rotational flow of hybrid nanofluids (MoS2-Ag/ethyleneglycol-water (50–50%) and MoS2-Go/ethyleneglycol-water (50–50%)) over a horizontally elongated plane sheet. The principal objective is concerned with the enhancement of thermal transportation. The three-dimensional formulation governing the conservation of mass, momentum, energy, and concentration is transmuted into two-dimensional partial differentiation by employing similarity transforms. The resulting set of equations (PDEs) is then solved by variational finite element procedure coded in Matlab script. An intensive computational run is carried out for suitable ranges of the particular quantities of influence. The primary velocity component decreases monotonically and the magnitude of secondary velocity component diminishes significantly when magnetic parameter, rotational parameter, and unsteadiness parameter are incremented. Both the primary and secondary velocities are smaller in values for the hybrid phase Ag-MoS2 than that of hybrid phase Go-MoS2 but the nanoparticle concentration and temperature are higher for hybrid phase Ag-MoS2. The increased values of parameters for thermophoresis, Brownian motion, shape factor, and volume fraction of ϕ2 made significant improvement in the temperature of the two phases of nano liquids. Results are also computed for the coefficients of skin friction(x, y-directions), Nusselt number, and Sherwood number. The present findings manifest reasonable comparison to their existing counterparts. Some of the practical engineering applications of the present analysis may be found in high-temperature nanomaterial processing technology, crystal growing, extrusion processes, manufacturing and rolling of polymer sheets, academic research, lubrication processes, and polymer industry.
