Abstract
OBJECTIVES This scoping review explored insight into the current evidence on adherence to health behavior guidelines, specifically diet and physical activity among breast cancer survivors. METHODS A scoping review was conducted through databases including PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, Web of Science, and SPORTDiscus with Full Text in November 2022, following the JBI methodology. The search strategy combined the keywords i) diet OR nutrition OR eating OR exercise OR physical activity OR fitness and ii) breast cancer survivors OR patients with breast cancer. RESULTS Twelve original research studies were included; most were conducted in the United States (50%), followed by the European countries (33.34%). Most studies exclusively focused on physical activity (83.33%) and assessed adherence to the physical activity guidelines for Americans (30%), along with the American Cancer Society (20%) and American College of Sports Medicine (20%) guidelines. Overweight or obesity, comorbidity, race, and quality of life were reported as factors associated with physical activity. Independence of disease status was significantly associated with fruit and vegetable intake. CONCLUSION Studies reported a wide range of prevalence of adherence to dietary and physical activity recommendations among breast cancer survivors. Further studies are needed to explore diet and physical activity in the context of factors affecting these behaviors among cancer survivors to support the development of healthy behavior, improve health outcomes, and reduce the disease burden among this population. IMPLICATION FOR NURSING PRACTICE Nurses have a key role in educating and coordinating multidiscipline teams to initiate and provide cancer survivorship care. These findings indicate that nurses should consider developing targeted strategies and education to promote dietary patterns and physical activity adherence among breast cancer survivors.

Abstract
This study investigated the influence of physical activity on the quality of life of patients with postsurgical colorectal cancer in Jordan. A total of 108 colorectal cancer patients aged ≥18 years who underwent surgery at the King Hussein Cancer Center participated voluntarily. The exclusion criteria were severe comorbidities, absolute contraindications to physical activity, and concurrent cancers. Data collection involved phone interviews using The European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire and the Godin Leisure Time Exercise Questionnaire due to coronavirus disease 2019 restrictions. Significant positive differences in the quality of life subcategory "physical score" were observed between active and less active patients, favoring the active group. However, no significant differences were found in the impact of physical roles on quality of life between active and less active patients. Participation in physical activity is associated with enhanced physical function in both active and less active colorectal cancer patients. We recommend the implementation of physical activity programs and clinics at King Hussein Cancer Center. Future experimental studies assessing the impact of tailored physical activity training on quality of life are warranted.

Abstract
Training load monitoring is a common practice in sports medicine for supporting athletes' health and performance. Despite progress in exercise oncology research for breast cancer patients, training load monitoring is underutilized. This study retrospectively investigated the relationship between maintained training load within a defined range and physical and health outcomes of ten breast cancer patients during active anticancer treatment who underwent a 12-week exercise program. Intervention consisted of endurance and resistance training, three times a week, with each session lasting 30-45 min. Assessments were conducted at baseline, 6 and 12 weeks after enrollment, evaluating physical function (6-min walk test-6MWT, and sit-to-stand), muscle strength, body composition, sleep quality (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index-Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index), quality of life (EORTC-QLQ-C30), heart rate variability and physical activity levels (International Physical Activity Questionnaire-International Physical Activity Questionnaire). The Physiological Cost Index/Energy Expenditure Index (PCI/EEI) was estimated using the 6MWT and Heart rate. Training load monitoring was performed by session rating of perceived exertion (sRPE, relative intensity multiplying with session duration). Acute-to-Chronic Workload Ratio (ACWR) (7:28, rolling average) was calculated accordingly. Analyses were performed within-subjects across time points and between-subjects, comparing those who maintained from weeks 6-12 an ACWR of 0.8-1.3 with those who did not. Adherence rates were similar between groups. Physical function improved in the total sample with large effect sizes (Δ6MWT = 56.5 m [95%CI: 6-100 m], effect size [w] = 0.52, p = 0.006; ΔSit-to-Stand = 1.5 [95%CI: 1-5], effect size [w] = 0.681, p < 0.001), demonstrating greater changes in patients with higher ACWR. Sleep quality improvements were higher in the appropriate ACWR group (p = 0.016). A positive correlation was demonstrated between global health status and 6MWT change from baseline to 12 weeks (ρ = 0.689, p = 0.04). Despite a small sample size, patients maintaining sufficient relative training load presented greater physical fitness and sleep quality improvements. Thus, training load monitoring may enhance exercise program benefits in breast cancer patients under active treatment.

Abstract
One of the most common adverse effects of cancer and its therapeutic strategies is sarcopenia, a condition which is characterised by excess muscle wasting and muscle strength loss due to the disrupted muscle homeostasis. Moreover, cancer-related sarcopenia may be combined with the increased deposition of fat mass, a syndrome called cancer-associated sarcopenic obesity. Both clinical conditions have significant clinical importance and can predict disease progression and survival. A growing body of evidence supports the claim that physical exercise is a safe and effective complementary therapy for oncology patients which can limit the cancer- and its treatment-related muscle catabolism and promote the maintenance of muscle mass. Moreover, even after the onset of sarcopenia, exercise interventions can counterbalance the muscle mass loss and improve the clinical appearance and quality of life of cancer patients. The aim of this narrative review was to describe the various pathophysiological mechanisms, such as protein synthesis, mitochondrial function, inflammatory response, and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, which are regulated by exercise and contribute to the management of sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity. Moreover, myokines, factors produced by and released from exercising muscles, are being discussed as they appear to play an important role in mediating the beneficial effects of exercise against sarcopenia.

Abstract
An accurate quantitative assessment of physical activity and sedentary lifestyles enables a better understanding of their relationship with the health records of cancer survivors. The objective of this study was to compare the subjective and objective methods of physical activity measurement in female breast cancer survivors. Materials and methods: In total, 135 female breast cancer survivors at the Holycross Cancer Center, Kielce, Poland, were included in this study. A shortened version of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) was used to subjectively assess the participants' physical activity (PA), and an ActiGraph GT3X-BT accelerometer was used for an objective assessment. In total, 75% of the studied women did not report any vigorous PA, irrespective of the measurement method. The average values of moderate PA and moderate-to-vigorous PA (MVPA) measured with IPAQ compared with the accelerometer were sevenfold and tenfold higher, respectively. Conversely, the sedentary behavior values measured with the accelerometer were almost three times higher than those measured with IPAQ. The PA and sedentary behavior measurements were significantly different. Irrespective of PA intensity, the accelerometer-based measurements produced significantly lower results than IPAQ, while higher results were observed for sedentary behavior. The measurement differences between these two methods increased as the average differences grew. Regardless of the measurement method, a negative association was observed between moderate PA with general adiposity and adipose tissue distribution, whereas sedentary behavior demonstrated an opposite trend. This indicates the detrimental role of obesity in limiting PA.

Abstract
There are a lot of evidences on the beneficial effects mediated by exercise on the prevention of not communicable diseases (NCDs) including different type of cancer. The production of circulating exerkines transported in exosomes represents a novel pathway activated by exercise. However, the biological mechanisms that could explain the role of exosomes in cancer prevention have been not fully elucidated. The aim of this mini-review is to provide an update on the biological mechanisms bringing the release of muscle-derived exosomes during exercise and cancer prevention.

Abstract
The number of breast cancer (BCa) survivors has been steadily increasing due to advances in anti-cancer treatments, though these individuals suffer from various cancer- and treatment-related long-term side effects. The present study aimed at investigating the effects of a home-based tele-exercise training intervention on physical- and mental health-associated parameters in BCa survivors. A total of 13 female BCa survivors (age: 58.31 ± 3.13 years, BMI: 25.68 ± 0.62 kg/m2, waist circumference: 96.54 ± 1.84 cm) participated in a two-month group tele-exercise program twice per week which included aerobic, resistance and flexibility exercises. The results of the study revealed that the tele-exercise intervention improved participants' body mass index (BMI) (p < 0.001), waist circumference (p < 0.001), cardiorespiratory fitness (6 min walk test) (p < 0.001) and muscle function (sit to stand (p < 0.01), sit ups (p < 0.001) and push-ups (p < 0.001)). Beneficial effects were also observed on perceived anxiety (Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale) (p < 0.001), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms (PCL-C) (p < 0.01), self-reported fatigue (p < 0.001), quality of life (QoL) (p < 0.05) and physical (p < 0.05), cognitive (p < 0.01) and emotional (p < 0.05) functioning (EORTQ-QLQ-C30). Our findings suggest that common cancer- and treatment-related adverse effects on physical performance, mental health and the overall QoL can be ameliorated through tele-exercise training programs in BCa survivors.

Abstract
Simple Summary The benefits of physical exercise against cancer onset and progression, as well as the adverse effects of physical inactivity have changed the way that we utilize exercise for cancer patients. Nevertheless, although guidelines of various scientific societies and organizations propose exercise as a complementary intervention during cancer therapies, the exact cellular and molecular mechanisms by which exercise acts against cancer have not yet been elucidated. In the present review, we analyze the factors which either are secreted from skeletal muscle or are regulated by exercise and can restrain cancer evolution. We also describe the exercise-induced factors that counteract severe side effects of cancer treatment, as well as the ways that muscle-derived factors are delivered to the target cells. Abstract A growing body of in vitro and in vivo studies suggests that physical activity offers important benefits against cancer, in terms of both prevention and treatment. However, the exact mechanisms implicated in the anticancer effects of exercise remain to be further elucidated. Muscle-secreted factors in response to contraction have been proposed to mediate the physical exercise-induced beneficial effects and be responsible for the inter-tissue communications. Specifically, myokines and microRNAs (miRNAs) constitute the most studied components of the skeletal muscle secretome that appear to affect the malignancy, either directly by possessing antioncogenic properties, or indirectly by mobilizing the antitumor immune responses. Moreover, some of these factors are capable of mitigating serious, disease-associated adverse effects that deteriorate patients’ quality of life and prognosis. The present review summarizes the myokines and miRNAs that may have potent anticancer properties and the expression of which is induced by physical exercise, while the mechanisms of secretion and intercellular transportation of these factors are also discussed.

Abstract
In case of oncological disease there is a deterioration of patients’ quality of life as such of its characteristics as physiological, psychological, emotional and social decrease. These problems are especially worsened by additional threats of social life. Today, such a challenge to the health of all mankind, and especially cancer patients, is the global pandemic caused by the spread of coronavirus disease COVID-19. Fear of death and loss of loved ones, isolation, economic shock and uncertainty about the future – all this certainly affects the quality of life, especially for patients after mastectomy, because they were already in emotional and physiological stress. The problem of determining the patients’ quality of life after mastectomy and correcting the nature of the personal reaction to the disease in the coronavirus pandemic is an integral part of the physical rehabilitation programme.
The objective of the study: to assess the quality of life and effectiveness of physical rehabilitation programmes of women after mastectomy in the conditions of pandemic COVID-19.
Research methods. The study involved 36 women aged from 42-69, who underwent radical mastectomy and were receiving adjuvant treatment at the Kherson Regional Oncological Center. To restore their health, the patients passed an author's programme of physical therapy for people after radical mastectomy. The methodology of building the author's programme was based on continuity, phasing and its implementation both in the mammology department and at home. The quality of life parameters and the volume indicators of mobility of the joints of the upper extremity were evaluated by the operated part before the application of physical therapy methods (early hospital period), after physical therapy (late hospital period) and after discharge from a hospital, but women continued to perform rehabilitation measures independently and were at home during the COVID-19 pandemic (post-hospital period + quarantine). To assess the quality of life, we used the questionnaire "MOS SF-36", which was used at each stage of rehabilitation.
Research results. Based on the conducted goniometry of women after radical mastectomy, it can be concluded that the amplitude of movements in the shoulder joint differs significantly at all periods of physical therapy (early hospital period, late hospital period and post-hospital period + quarantine) from the standard indicators. Extension of the shoulder among most women after the application of an individual rehabilitation programme has fully recovered, forced quarantine and lack of general physical activity did not affect this indicator. Independent performance of therapeutic gymnastics (in the post-hospital period + quarantine) did not significantly improve this indicator and did not lead to complete recovery of movement. The analysis of the obtained results showed that among women, who underwent mastectomy under the influence of physical exercises, already in the late hospital period of rehabilitation, there was not only an improvement in joint mobility, but there was an improvement in quality of life. At the same time, women in the post-hospital period of physical rehabilitation, which coincided with the quarantine period, there was a slight decrease in quality of life. Namely: there was a decrease in physical activity (PF) by 4.5%, which indicated a decrease in daily physical activity; it was found that the role of physical problems in the limitation of vital functions (RF) decreased by 2.7% (this indicator reflected the impact of physical condition on daily role activities). Low RF values indicate that daily activities are significantly limited by the patient's physical condition; women noted an increase in pain indicator (BP) by 9.6% and its effect on the ability to engage in daily activities, which led to limited activity of patients; deterioration of mental health (MH) – by 3.8%, which was characterized by low mood, depression, anxiety and a decrease in the overall rate of positive emotions. Low scores indicated the presence of depressive, anxious experience and mental distress; decrease of the indicator of role functioning, which is due to emotional state (RE), during forced quarantine by 13.6%, interpreted as a restriction in the performance of daily work, which is due to the deterioration of emotional state; vital activity parameters (VT) decreased during quarantine by 11.7%. The obtained indicators testified to higher fatigue of patients, decrease of their vital activity and decrease of their vivacity.
Conclusions. Quarantine conditions and self-isolation, which appeared during the spread of coronavirus disease, are an additional source of concern for patients after mastectomy and have identified a decline in their quality of life and the effectiveness of physical therapy in general. Although before the quarantine measures, the indicators of quality of life and mobility of the shoulder joints on the operated side were significantly increased under the influence of the physical therapy programme for this category of patients.т Assessment of the quality of life of patients after mastectomy is an integral characteristic of physical, mental, social and spiritual condition, which allows determining the effectiveness of physical rehabilitation measures. Therefore, the assessment of the life quality of women after mastectomy, which is made by the patients themselves, is a secure and reliable indicator of their general condition under normal conditions and during the pandemic period of coronavirus disease. The obtained data on the quality of life allow for constant monitoring of the patients’ general condition after undergoing surgery on the mammary, as well as timely, if necessary, to adjust the physical therapy programme.
