Abstract
The eosin Y-catalyzed hydroperfluoroalkylation of electron-deficient alkenes is described herein. The reaction proceeded smoothly under visible light irradiation and selectively afforded a hydroperfluoroalkylated product. Various perfluoroalkyl bromides and electron-deficient olefins can be used in this reaction, and all chemicals required for this reaction are safe and readily available.

Abstract
A method for the hydroperfluoroalkylation of alkenes with 1,2-dibromotetrafluoroethane leading to tetrafluorinated bromides is described. The reaction is conveniently performed under blue light irradiation using an organic photocatalyst and ascorbic acid as a reducing agent. Primary products can be further functionalized via radical pathways affording various tetrafluorinated compounds.

Abstract
Difluoroalkylated compounds have important applications in pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and materials science. However, efficient methods to construct the alkylCF2–alkyl bond are very limited, and the site-selective introduction of a difluoromethylene (CF2) group into an aliphatic chain at the desired position remains challenging. Here, we report an unprecedented example of alkylzirconocene promoted difluoroalkylation of alkyl- and silyl-alkenes with a variety of unactivated difluoroalkyl iodides and bromides under the irradiation of visible light without a catalyst. The resulting difluoroalkylated compounds can serve as versatile synthons in organic synthesis. The reaction can also be applied to activated difluoroalkyl, trifluoromethyl, perfluoroalkyl, monofluoroalkyl, and nonfluorinated alkyl halides, providing a general method to controllably access fluorinated compounds. Preliminary mechanistic studies reveal that a single electron transfer (SET) pathway induced by a Zr(iii) species is involved in the reaction, in which the Zr(iii) species is generated by the photolysis of alkylzirconocene with blue light. An unprecedented example of alkylzirconocene promoted difluoroalkylation of alkyl- and silyl-alkenes with a variety of fluoroalkyl and nonfluoroalkyl halides under the irradiation of visible light has been reported.![]()

Abstract
A 4-tetrafluoropyridinylthio group was suggested as a new photoredox-active moiety. The group can be directly installed on difluorostyrenes in a single step by the thiolene click reaction. It proceeds upon visible light catalysis with 9-phenylacridine providing various difluorinated sulfides as radical precursors. Single electron reduction of the C–S bond with the formation of fluoroalkyl radicals is enabled by the electron-poor azine ring. The intermediate difluorinated sulfides were involved in a series of photoredox reactions with silyl enol ethers, alkenes, nitrones and an alkenyl trifluoroborate. A new photoredox-active group was applied for the generation of fluorinated radicals from difluorostyrenes under blue light irradiation.![]()
