Abstract
OBJECTIVE To assess the impact of a precision-based tertiary care protocol, including participatory dietary care, on the nutritional status, immune function, and quality of life in gastric cancer patients after radical gastrectomy. METHODS The clinical and laboratory data of 124 patients diagnosed with gastric cancer at the Second People's Hospital of Lanzhou City from June 2020 to May 2022 were collected and retrospectively analyzed. The patients were grouped into a control group of 54 patients who received standard care and a study group of 70 patients who additionally received detailed tertiary care and bundled nutritional interventions. The clinical data (age, gender, surgical method, clinical staging, chemotherapy regimen, histories of diabetes, hypertension, smoking, alcohol consumption, time to first flatus and bowel movement, time to first liquid intake, length of hospital stay, complications at discharge, PG-SGA score, and QLQ-C30 score) and lab indices (serum albumin (ALB), prealbumin (PA), transferrin (TRF), hemoglobin (Hb), immunoglobulin A (IgA), M (IgM), and G (IgG)) were compared between the two groups. RESULTS Study group had significantly higher levels of ALB, PA, TRF, Hb, IgA, IgM, and IgG compared to the control group after intervention (all P<0.001). QLQ-C30 score was higher while PG-SGA score was lower in the study group (both P<0.01). Postoperative digestive system recovery was faster in the study group, as evidenced by a shorter time to first anal defecation, bowel movement, liquid food intake, and hospital stay (P<0.001). Complication rate was significantly lower in the study group (P<0.05). Cox regression analysis showed age (P=0.021) and clinical stage (P=0.039) as independent prognostic factors, while treatment regimen was not (P>0.05). CONCLUSION Precision-based tertiary care protocol can improve nutritional status, enhance immune function, and facilitate faster postoperative recovery for gastric cancer patients following gastrectomy, thus greatly improving the quality of life of the patient. However, age and clinical staging, rather than the care protocol, are independent prognostic factors for patients' 1-year survival.

Nurse's Roles in Colorectal Cancer Prevention: A Narrative Review. JOURNAL OF PREVENTION (2022) 2022; 43:759-782. Abstract
The objective of this paper is to investigate the different roles of nurses as members of healthcare teams at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of colorectal cancer prevention. The research team conducted a narrative review of studies involving the role of nurses at different levels of colorectal cancer prevention, which included a variety of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method studies. We searched PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Cochrane Reviews, Magiran, the Scientific Information Database (SID), Noormags, and the Islamic Science Citation (ISC) databases from ab initio until 2021. A total of 117 studies were reviewed. Nurses' roles were classified into three levels of prevention. At the primary level, the most important role related to educating people to prevent cancer and reduce risk factors. At the secondary level, the roles consisted of genetic counseling, stool testing, sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy, biopsy and screening test follow-ups, and chemotherapy intervention, while at the tertiary level, their roles were made up of pre-and post-operative care to prevent further complications, rehabilitation, and palliative care. Nurses at various levels of prevention care also act as educators, coordinators, performers of screening tests, follow-up, and provision of palliative and end-of-life care. If these roles are not fulfilled at some levels of colorectal cancer, it is generally due to the lack of knowledge and competence of nurses or the lack of instruction and legal support for them. Nurses need sufficient clinical knowledge and experience to perform these roles at all levels.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the effect of rapid rehabilitation nursing on inflammation and liver function in patients with primary liver cancer (PLC) after laparoscopic radical resection. METHODS A total of 124 PLC patients who underwent laparoscopic radical surgery in the Zhuji People's Hospital of Zhejiang Province from April 2019 to July 2021 were enrolled in this retrospective study. Among them, 65 patients who received rapid rehabilitation nursing were assigned into the observation group (OG), and the other 59 with routine nursing were considered to be the control group (CG). The pain before operation (T0), 3 days after operation (T1) and 7 days after operation (T2) was evaluated by visual analogue scale (VAS). The perioperative related indexes and nursing satisfaction were compared. The levels of liver function indexes alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), total bilirubin (TBIL) and inflammatory factors C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) were measured before operation, 1 day and 7 days after operation. Finally, the incidence of postoperative complications was counted, the 6-month survival rate of both groups of patients was compared. RESULTS There was no obvious difference in VAS scores between the two groups at T0 (P>0.050), but the VAS scores at T1 and T2 in the OG were lower than those in the CG (P<0.001). There was no marked difference in the total operation time. Compared with the CG, the time to first exhaust, catheter indwelling and hospitalization in the OG were shorter (P<0.001) and the nursing satisfaction rate was higher (P<0.05). There was no obvious difference in ALT, AST and TBIL on the 1st day after operation (P>0.05); however, on the 7th day after operation, ALT and AST were lower while TBIL was higher in the OG (all P<0.05). There was no marked difference in CRP, IL-6 and TNF-α between the two groups on postoperative day 1 (P>0.05), but the levels were lower in the OG than those in the CG on postoperative day 7 (all P<0.05), and the total incidence of adverse reactions in the OG was lower (P<0.05). There was no statistical difference in the postoperative survival rate between both groups of patients (P>0.05). Age, number of lesions, tumor size, Child-Pugh grade, AST, TBIL, CRP, IL-6, TNF-α were associated with the survival rate of patients. CONCLUSION Rapid rehabilitation nursing can effectively reduce adverse reactions after laparoscopic radical resection of PLC. Thus, it has a high application value in future clinical treatment.

Abstract
Objective This study is aimed at exploring the effects of the concept of fast-track surgery (FTS) combined with empathic nursing on perioperative complication prevention and postoperative recovery of gynecological malignant tumor patients. Methods A total of 180 patients with gynecological malignant tumor treated by surgery in our hospital from September 2018 to October 2021 were randomly divided into three groups: group A, group B, and group C, with 60 patients in each group. Group C was given conventional nursing intervention, group B was given FTS intervention, and group A was given FTS intervention combined with empathic care. Psychological stress state (systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and heart rate), postoperative recovery indicators (time of first anal exhaust, time of first defecation, time of getting out of bed, and length of postoperative hospital stay), postoperative complications, and psychological state (Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS)) levels of patients in the three groups were compared. Results Systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and heart rate in group A were lower than those in group B, and those in group B were lower than those in group C (all P < 0.05). The time of first anal exhaust, time of first defecation, time of getting out of bed, and postoperative hospital stay in groups A and B were shorter than those in group C (all P < 0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications in groups A and B was 8.33% and 8.33%, respectively, lower than 23.33% in group C (both P < 0.05). SAS and SDS scores of group A were lower than those of groups B and C after intervention (all P < 0.05). Conclusion The concept of FTS combined with empathic nursing is beneficial to reduce the stress response of patients with gynecological malignant tumor before surgery, reduce the risk of postoperative complications, improve patients' mood, and speed up the rehabilitation process of patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of rapid rehabilitation nursing on the improvement of quality of life after super-miniPCNL (SMP) and the risk analysis of postoperative complications. METHODS The clinical data of 124 SMP patients who were admitted from February 2019 to February 2021 were analyzed retrospectively. Thereinto, 58 cases received routine nursing were regarded as the control group (CG), and 66 received rapid rehabilitation nursing were considered as the observation group (OG). The negative emotions, pain relief, incidence of complications and quality of life were compared. In view of the occurrence of complications, patients were divided into complication group and non-complication group, and the risk factors were assessed by logistics regression. RESULTS The time of fluid infusion, exhaust, defecation and hospitalization in the OG were shorter than those in the CG, and the difference was statistically remarkable (P<0.05). In the OG, the SF-36 and score of postoperative quality of life were obviously higher (P<0.05), while the postoperative visual analogue scale (VAS), self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and self-rating depression scale (SDS) were markedly lower. Logistics regression analysis manifested that the operation time, course of disease, stone residue, history of preoperative infection and nursing plan were independently correlated with complications. CONCLUSION Rapid rehabilitation nursing for SMP patients is beneficial to accelerating postoperative recovery, reducing the occurrence of complications and improving quality of life.

Abstract
Aim To evaluate the effectiveness of targeted nursing in an endoscopic submucosal injection of carbon nanoparticles to locate colorectal cancer. Methods From September 2017 to September 2019, 82 patients with colorectal cancer who underwent endoscopic submucosal injection of carbon nanoparticles for locating the tumor were recruited and assigned via the random number table method (1 : 1) to receive either conventional nursing (control group) or targeted nursing (observation group). Outcome measures included psychological status, compliance, nursing satisfaction, quality of life, and daily living ability. Results After intervention, the self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) scores and self-rating depression scale (SDS) scores were decreased in both groups, with lower results in the observation group (P < 0.001). Patients given target nursing were associated with higher compliance and nursing satisfaction of patients versus conventional nursing (P < 0.05). Patients receiving targeted nursing had a better quality of life versus those receiving conventional nursing (P < 0.001). Targeted nursing resulted in a higher Barthel index (BI) in patients versus conventional nursing 1 d, 7 d, and 14 d after nursing (P < 0.05). Conclusion Targeted nursing alleviates the negative emotions of patients with colorectal cancer and improves their compliance, nursing satisfaction, daily living ability, and quality of life.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography drainage (PTCD) effectively treats biliary obstruction. However, patients must maintain the drainage tube after hospital discharge, which may interfere with daily life and work, potentially causing psychological distress. Postoperative rehabilitation is crucial, and strengthened nursing interventions can shorten recovery time.
AIM The aim was to evaluate an inpatient model to shorten rehabilitation duration and improve quality of life after PTCD.
METHODS A total of 118 patients with malignant obstructive jaundice who were admitted to our hospital between May 2018 and January 2021 were included and divided into observational (with therapy) and control (no therapy) groups of 59 each.
RESULTS The observational group had fewer hospitalization days than the control group. The complication, the PTCD fixed-tube prolapse, and tube-related admission rates within 3 mo after PTCD were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group (P < 0.05). The fatigue, pain, nausea, vomiting, pruritus, emaciation, and fever scores after PTCD decreased in both groups compared with the scores before PTCD (P < 0.05). The quality of life scores after the intervention were higher in the observation than in the control group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSION The model promoted rehabilitation after PTCD, reduced post-PTCD complications, and the tube-related admissions in the 3 mo after the procedure, and improved the quality of life.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study was designed to investigate the application value of humanistic care interventions in patients with lower extremity arteriosclerosis obliterans (LEASO). METHODS We enrolled 98 LEASO patients undergoing interventional therapy in our hospital into this study, among whom 47 cases received conventional care interventions (the regular group) while the other 51 received humanistic care interventions based on conventional care interventions (the research group). The two groups were compared in negative emotions, complications, and quality of life of patients. RESULTS Scores of negative emotions were lower in the research group than in the regular group after care (P < 0.05). The pain intensity decreased in both groups after care, with a sharper decrease in the research group (P < 0.05). The incidence of complications was lower in the research group than in the regular group after care (P < 0.05). The pain-free walking distance (PFWD) increased remarkably in both groups after care, with a longer PFWD in the research group than in the regular group (P < 0.05). Scores of the 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) increased after care in both groups (P < 0.05), with higher SF-36 scores in the research group than in the regular group (P < 0.05). SF-36 reflects the quality of life of patients from four aspects including vitality, emotional state, social function, and role-emotional. The care compliance and satisfaction level with care of patients were higher in the research group than in the regular group (P < 0.05). The care compliance rate and patient satisfaction level with care were higher in the research group than in the regular group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION Humanistic care interventions can reduce postoperative pain intensity and improve the quality of life in patients with LEASO.
