Abstract
Introduction Vesiculobullous disorders are a group of autoimmune diseases manifesting as chronic ulcers in the oral cavity. Ocular involvement may accompany oral ulcers and cause various problems for patients. This review summarizes the data regarding ocular involvement in patients with oral vesiculobullous. Methods Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed/MEDLINE, and Embase electronic databases were searched according to related keywords. Finally, 58 articles were included, all of which were case reports or series. Characteristics such as the age and sex of patients, location and type of oral lesion, type of ophthalmic injury, the interval between oral and ocular lesion, and treatment of oral and ocular disorders were summarized in tables. Results Eye involvement was 1.6 times more prevalent in women, and most patients were between 30 and 60 years old (67.4 %). Pemphigus vulgaris accounted for almost half of the cases (48.4 %), though lichen planus is more prevalent in the general population. The most frequently affected oral site was the buccal mucosa (17.5 %), and oral ulcers usually presented as erythema, erosion, or inflammation (22.7 %). Conjunctivitis was the most common type of eye involvement (18.4 %), and ophthalmic lesions regularly appeared 12-60 months after the development of oral lesions (30.1 %). Blindness was reported in only one case. Corticosteroids and immunosuppressives were the most frequent oral and ocular lesion therapies. Conclusion Considering the serious burdens of any ocular injury, monitoring the ocular health of patients with oral vesiculobullous diseases is highly recommended in high-risk cases, especially middle-aged women with oral pemphigus vulgaris.

Abstract
Background and Aim Vesiculobullous lesions are a group of mucocutaneous lesions that are predominantly immune-mediated but may also have a genetic or viral origin. The most common site of occurrence is buccal mucosa, whereas the number of cases involving gingiva is comparatively low. Based on the literature, although numerous studies have reported the prevalence of vesiculobullous lesions in the nonkeratinized epithelium, there is a dearth of knowledge about its occurrence in keratinized oral mucosa, especially gingiva. The objective of the study was to assess the prevalence of immune-mediated oral vesiculobullous lesions emphasizing the occurrence in keratinized mucosa, especially the gingiva, among patients visiting a private dental hospital. Materials and Methods The study was conducted in a private teaching dental institute and hospital setting. Out of 615 incisional biopsies received in the department of oral pathology, between June 2019 and April 2021, n = 22 samples were immune-mediated vesiculobullous lesions confirmed by clinical and histopathological diagnosis after eliminating lesions of viral origin. Patient details including age, gender, site, duration, and systemic illness were collected from the digital information archiving software and analyzed by appropriate statistics using SPSS software. Results Based on the results, 95.5% of the patients had histopathological features of intraepithelial clefting and only 4.5% of them showed subepithelial clefting. Female predilection was 6.3:1. The most common site of involvement was nonkeratinized mucosa (36.36%) and 59.09% of the patients presented with systemic illness. Conclusion The study shows most of the features of pemphigus is consistent in gingiva and other parts of oral mucosa. The dental practitioners should be aware of the various oral manifestations of such lesions to ensure accurate diagnosis and adequate treatment.

Abstract
Background: Clinical diagnosis of vesiculobullous disorders (VBD) is not always straightforward. It is a challenge for a dermatologist to make the right diagnosis noninvasively in a short time. Objective: To evaluate dermoscopic patterns associated with vesiculobullous disorders. Methods: A total of 230 patients, irrespective of age and gender, with a history and clinical presentation suggestive of VBD (including primarily infectious, inflammatory, genetic, antibody-mediated, mechanical, environmental, metabolic, and drug-related) were recruited into the study. Patients with secondarily infected lesions were excluded. Dermoscopic examination along with Tzanck smear/skin biopsy smear test was performed on the most representative lesions. Data were compiled and statistically analyzed using SPSS version 21.0. Results: Lesions with erythematous (vascular) and yellowish (serum) translucent background with regular margins were seen in most of the VBD studied. Chickenpox (CP) and herpes zoster (HZ) lesions evolved with the progress of their clinical stages. Follicular and eccrine openings were commonly seen, but the pigmentation around them was specific to pemphigus vulgaris. A distorted pigment network was noted in bullous pemphigoid. White rosettes (keratin blockage) were characteristic of epidermolysis bullosa, Wickham striae (orthokeratosis) of lichen planus, and crumpled fabric appearance (flaccidity) of Hailey-Hailey disease. Globules/dots (microvesicles) of different colors were also seen in various VBD. Blue/black color usually corresponded to retained melanin. Conclusion: Some dermoscopic patterns are observed consistently with certain diseases, and these can be used for their diagnosis, complementary to histopathological examination.

Abstract
Pemphigus vulgaris is an autoimmune blistering disease with an increased potential for mortality. The epithelium is key in understanding the pathobiology as it is specialized to perform functions like mechanical protection, immunological defense, and proprioception. In order to perform these array of functions, epithelial integrity is important. This integrity is maintained by a host of molecules which orchestrate the ability of the keratinocytes to function as a single unit. Desmoglein 3 antibodies formed in genetically susceptible individuals are known to cause the disruption of the intact oral mucosa leading to the formation of blisters in pemphigus vulgaris patients. However, there are underlying complex triggering pathways leading to the clinical disease. The aim of the review is to congregate and critically appraise the various triggering pathways which contribute toward the pathobiology of pemphigus vulgaris. Articles relevant to the pathobiology of pemphigus vulgaris were identified from various search databases till the year 2020. The pathogenesis of pemphigus vulgaris is complex, and it involves an in-depth understanding of the various predisposing factors, provoking factors, and progression mechanisms. Congregation of the various triggering pathways will open our minds to understand pemphigus vulgaris better and in turn develop a reliable treatment in the near future.

Abstract
Autoimmune diseases are better diagnosed currently with advances in cellular immunology, molecular biology, and genetics. Clinical diagnosis of systemic and organ specific autoimmune diseases is a challenging task for the Oral physicians and the development of chairside investigation methods has not only saved the time but also cost factor. To understand patient's immune status, the clinical chair side diagnostic aids along with laboratory testing methods are necessary. Laboratory investigations have great importance in detecting, confirming and analyzing the severity, and predicting the prognosis of the autoimmune disease. This article aims to list out the diagnostic methods to diagnose autoimmune conditions and focuses on various diagnostic methods to effectively evaluate autoimmune disease of orofacial region.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Diagnosis of oral ulceration is always challenging and has been the source of difficulty because of the remarkable overlap in their clinical presentations. AIM The objective of this review article is to provide updated knowledge and systemic approach regarding oral ulcers diagnosis depending upon clinical picture while excluding the other causative causes. METHODS For this, specialised databases and search engines involving Science Direct, Medline Plus, Scopus, PubMed and authentic textbooks were used to search topics related to the keywords such as oral ulcer, oral infections, vesiculobullous lesion, traumatic ulcer, systematic disease and stomatitis. Associated articles published from 1995 to 2019 in both dental and medical journals including the case reports, case series, original articles and reviews were considered. RESULTS The compilation of the significant data reveals that ulcers can be classified according to (i) duration of onset, (ii) number of ulcers and (iii) etiological factors. Causation of oral ulcers varies from slight trauma to underlying systemic diseases and malignancies. CONCLUSION Oral manifestations must be acknowledged for precise diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Abstract
Immune-related disorders of the oral cavity may occur as primary disease process, secondary to systemic disease or neoplasm, or as a reaction to medications and other agents. The entities represented within this group may vary significantly by severity, clinical presentation, microscopic presentation, and special testing results. The selected immune-related conditions of the oral cavity in this article are categorized and presented by their prototypical tissue reaction patterns: vesiculobullous, including acantholytic and subepithelial separation; psoriasiform; spongiotic; and lichenoid reaction patterns.
