Abstract
INTRODUCTION A mucoid cyst is a benign lesion in the oral mucosa resulting from the rupture of a salivary gland duct and the subsequent discharge of mucin into the soft tissues. Mucoceles are more common in children and young adults, and the most common site is the lower inner lips. CASES SERIES PRESENTATION We describe 3 clinical cases managed in service between 2022 and 2023. Clinical cases are presented in order to detail their clinical history, paraclinical and treatment. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION In general, mucoceles tend to resolve spontaneously, but can sometimes interfere with swallowing or speech. Therefore, in such cases, these lesions must be promptly diagnosed and treated. There are various methods of managing these lesions, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Surgical technique is preferable when the lesion is persistent, recurrent or symptomatic, and remains the most effective strategy, despite the existence of other, more modern techniques that are better tolerated by patients. But in all cases, follow-up is very important, especially when the mucocele is located in a particular area, such as the ventral side of the tongue, or in a younger population.

Abstract
Mucocele is a common lesion localized in the oral cavity; it originates from the lesion of a salivary duct and the consequent accumulation of mucin in soft tissues. It is a common lesion of young patients and is frequently associated with areas subject to traumas. Surgical treatment is needed especially if it reaches considerable dimensions, as it can cause discomfort in the patient and tends to increase in size if subjected to further traumatism. This scoping review aims to investigate which treatments are used for this type of lesion, which are the most suitable to prevent recurrence, and if laser-assisted surgery is considered more efficient than other methods. An electronic search was performed within the PubMed (MEDLINE) and Scopus databases. Articles published in the years 2010 to 2023 were selected. Techniques like marsupialization and laser-assisted excision effectively treat mucoceles, with no clear prevalence between them. Laser surgery offers speed, precision, and minimal post-operation discomfort, but randomized trials are needed for conclusive comparisons.

Abstract
Mucoceles are common salivary gland disorders. Mucoceles are benign, mucus-filled extravasation pseudocysts that commonly arise on the lower lip of children and young adults. Although surgical excision is commonly performed to remove these lesions, other treatments include marsupialization, micromarsupialization laser ablation, cryotherapy, intralesional steroid injection, and sclerosing agents. Traumatic sialoceles commonly arise from injury to the parotid duct. Treatment of sialoceles from acute parotid duct injury and for delayed presentations after injury are discussed. Ranulas are a subtype of mucocele from the sublingual gland classified as superficial or plunging. Treatment of ranulas must address the sublingual gland.

Abstract
In recent years, extensive evidence has been published about usage of laser in oral lesions. The aim of the present study was to review the effectiveness of laser radiation in the treatment of pediatric oral soft tissue problems. The relevant keywords were searched in EBSCO, Medline (via Ovid), PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science (WOS) databases. Then, eligible case series and controlled clinical trial studies, which published up to the end of 2018, were extracted and scrutinized. In this study, the age range of ≤ 21 years or the average age of ≤ 21 years was considered as the pediatric group. After limiting the search results, removing duplicate titles and eligibility evaluation, 17 papers were enrolled to the study (seven controlled clinical trials and ten case series). Er:YAG (2940 nm), CO2 (10,600 nm), Er,Cr:YSGG (2780 nm), and diode (650, 660, and 975 nm) lasers indicated successful clinical results on mucocele excision, frenectomy, gingival incision and re-contouring, and treatment of vascular malformations. In addition, 660-nm diode laser radiation was an effective adjuvant treatment for halitosis and gingivitis induced by multi-bracket appliances. Reduction or absence of pain and bleeding, suitable homeostasis, reduction of operation time, less analgesic consumption, and antibacterial effect were among the advantages of the laser radiation in the studies. Laser as a main or adjuvant tool can have an effective role in surgical and non-surgical treatments of pediatric oral soft tissue problems. Conducting further randomized controlled trial studies on different soft tissue lesions can contribute to drawing better conclusions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Acetylation and deacetylation are the most studied covalent histone modifications resulting in transcriptional regulation with histone deacetylases (HDAC) and histone acetyltransferases (HAT) as the main associated enzymes. These enzymes overexpression induces abnormal transcription of key genes that regulate important cellular functions, such as proliferation, cell cycle regulation, and apoptosis. Thus, the expression of different HATs and HDACs has been evaluated in various cancers. OBJECTIVE To investigate HDAC1, HDAC2 and HAT1 expression in lip squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) and actinic cheilitis (AC) and to demonstrate their correlation with DNA metyltransferases (DNMTs). MATERIAL AND METHODS Thirty cases of lip squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), thirty cases of actinic cheilitis (AC), and 28 cases of non-neoplastic epithelium as control were selected for immunohistochemical investigation. RESULTS Nuclear HDAC2 immunopositivity was significantly higher in AC (75.07% ± 29.70) when compared with LSCC (51.06% ± 39.02). HDAC1 and HAT1 nuclear immunostaining were higher in AC, with no statistical significance. When comparing data with our previous study, we found a positive correlation between HDAC1 X DNMT1/DNMT3b, HDAC2 X DNMT3b, and HAT1 X DNMT1/DNMT3b for certain studied groups. CONCLUSION This study showed higher levels of nuclear HDAC2 immunopositivity in AC, possibly indicating that this enzyme plays a key role in lip photocarcinogenesis early stages.
