Abstract
This case report describes an unusual presentation of schwannoma, a typically benign and solitary tumor originating from Schwann cells in peripheral nerves. While the literature on extraspinal schwannomas is limited, this report discusses the case of a 21-year-old female with complaint of a back swelling persisting for two years, causing discomfort during sleep. The oval-shaped swelling, measuring 7x6 cm, was located over the T11-T12-L1 vertebrae, with normal overlying skin, pinchable hardness, and fixation to the vertebrae. The patient had no history of pain or weakness in the lower limbs. Fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) yielded inconclusive results. X-ray imaging of the thoracolumbar spine revealed a soft tissue shadow over the T11-T12-L1 vertebrae. The patient underwent complete surgical excision through a vertical incision, emphasizing the importance of preoperative imaging for accurate diagnosis, optimal surgical planning, and ensuring procedural safety.

Abstract
Schwannomas are mostly benign tumors arising from the nerve sheath. These tumors can be found anywhere in the body. Depending on their locations, they may cause compressive symptoms as well as cosmetic or functional defects. Ancient schwannomas, the rare variant of schwannomas, are the slow-growing tumors characterized with cystic necrotic degeneration areas in the neoplastic tissue. Ancient schwannomas rarely occur in the spinal canal, they are particularly unusual in the thoracic spine. Herein we present a 66-year-old woman with chronic back pain who is detected a cystic mass in her thoracic spine by magnetic resonance imaging and is diagnosed with ancient schwannoma by histological examination. Schwannomas are the most common intradural extramedullary tumors of the spine. Ancient schwannoma is an uncommon variant of schwannomas. Ancient schwannomas infrequently occur in the spine. Ancient schwannoma of the thoracic spine is extremely rare.

Abstract
Spinal intradural hemorrhage is a rare event; the most common causes of spinal bleeding are traumas, medical therapy with anticoagulants and thrombolytics, vascular malformations, and congenital defects of coagulation. Rarely, spinal cord tumors may cause hemorrhage. Herein, we report the case of a patient with acute and quickly worsening lumbar pain: the neurological examination revealed a flaccid paraplegia caused by an intradural lesion extending on the right side of the spinal cord from T1 to L2 vertebral level. Pathological examination revealed an hemorrhagic schwannoma. Acute spinal subdural hemorrhage caused by spinal schwannomas is a very rare occurrence (29 cases only have been previously reported). Review of the literature with clinico-diagnostic features is presented, surgical treatment is explained, and pathological findings with possible etiopathogenesis of hemorrhage are described.
