Abstract
Objective Gastroparesis is one of the complications of diabetes mellitus, which has a major impact on the quality of life of patients, and the limited therapeutic options currently available make it a public health problem. No bibliometric studies on diabetic gastroparesis have been published to date. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to summarize and analyze the research hotspots for researchers. Methods Research articles related to Diabetic gastroparesis were searched in Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC), and relevant information was extracted after screening. A comprehensive bibliometric analysis of 699 publications was conducted using Microsoft Excel 2019, Citespace and VOSviewers. Result A total of 699 papers from 738 institutions in 41 countries were retrieved. Publications in this field have increased rapidly since 1979. USA (n = 370) and Mayo Clinical (n = 69) were the most productive country and institution, respectively. Neurogastroenterology and Motility (n = 67) was the most published journal with Parkman, Henry P. (n = 40) having the highest number of articles; Gastroenterology and Mccallum, Richard W. were the most influential journals and authors. Conclusions The research hotspots of Diabetic gastroparesis are mainly focused on treatment modalities and pathological mechanisms. Future research in diabetic gastroparesis will focus on exploring the pathomechanisms, finding long-term effective treatments, and improving patients' quality of life.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Diabetes represents a significant global health concern. Effective diabetes management necessitates substantial behavioral and psychological modifications, including regular glucose monitoring, dietary adjustments, and medication adherence. However, treatment adherence remains suboptimal, particularly in developing countries, leading to poor glycaemic control, increased healthcare costs, and diminished quality of life (QoL). Common factors influencing medication nonadherence include lack of medication knowledge, age, education of patients, polypharmacy, duration of disease, cost of therapy, complexity of dosing regime, and the presence of comorbidities. So, the study aims to assess the adherence status to antidiabetic medication and its association with QoL among diabetes patients in the Anand district of Gujarat state. METHODOLOGY A study was carried out in Anand district, Gujarat, from 2023 to 2024, focusing on community-based cross-sectional research. In the eight blocks of Anand district, a two-stage cluster sampling method was utilized, with one village or town randomly chosen from each taluka, and 25 diabetes patients interviewed per area. Data collection involved visiting 200 participants' houses, starting with a randomly selected house and continuing until the target was met. The interviews, conducted in the local language, lasted around 45 minutes and utilized a pre-validated and pretested questionnaire. The questionnaire covered demographic details, disease characteristics, and medication adherence using the semi-structured scale from Adherence to Refills and Medications Scale (ARMS-D), as well as the assessment of QoL using the WHOQoL-BREF questionnaire. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data analysis. Sociodemographic attributes were presented in terms of percentages (%) and frequencies (N). The means and standard deviation (SD) of health-related QoL and adherence to anti-diabetic medication were reported. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to assess the impact of adherence to antidiabetic medication within each QoL area after adjusting for a few sociodemographic variables. P values below 0.05 were considered statistically significant. RESULTS The study included predominantly older participants (58.1 years) with 53.5% being male. Most participants (65.5%) had diabetes for more than 5 years, 60.0% had comorbidities, and 29.0% experienced complications. Nonadherence to treatment was observed in 37.0% of patients. The study found that factors like age, education, occupation, family history of diabetes, smoking, alcohol consumption, exercise habits, and medication adherence significantly influenced the QoL in diabetic patients, with medication adherence showing the strongest positive association with all QoL domains. CONCLUSION This study shows a high percentage of nonadherence to antidiabetic medications. Poor adherence had significantly lower mean scores across all domains of QoL. Community-based educational programs targeting older and less-educated individuals should promote regular physical activity. Developing strategies to improve medication adherence and ensuring affordable access to essential medications, along with prioritizing enhancements in the QoL through psychosocial support and lifestyle counseling are imperative for diabetic patients.

Abstract
Background Diabetes mellitus is a significant public health issue globally, with increasing prevalence rates. In Saudi Arabia, a substantial proportion of the adult population is affected. While the impact of diabetes on physical health is well-documented, less is known about its effects on emotional and social well-being in this region. Methods From January to March 2024, we conducted a cross-sectional online survey of 207 individuals with diabetes in Saudi Arabia. The survey, available in Arabic and English, assessed physical symptoms, emotional health, social interactions, and overall quality of life. Descriptive statistics were used for analysis. Results The majority of participants were aged 31-45 years (n=63, 30.4%) and female (n=118, 56.9%). Type 2 diabetes was the most common (n=122, 59.1%). Regarding physical health, 34.6% (n=72) rated their health as good while 37.2% (n=77) experienced physical symptoms sometimes and 17.9% (n=37) often. Emotional health challenges were reported by 39.2% (n=81) experiencing anxiety and 33.9% (n=70) experiencing depression. Social interactions were impacted, with 28.6% (n=59) reporting challenges in relationships and 14.3% (n=30) facing significant impacts on recreational activities. Overall quality of life was rated as good by 40.4% (n=83), fair by 29.9% (n=62), and very poor by 4.8% (n=10). Conclusions The study highlights the significant effects of diabetes on the physical, emotional, and social aspects of life in Saudi Arabia. The findings underscore the need for comprehensive care strategies that incorporate medical treatment, emotional support, and social integration to improve the overall quality of life for individuals with diabetes.

Abstract
Introduction Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the leading causes of death and disability, in addition to its rapidly increasing prevalence in developing countries. The key element of managing diabetes is quality of life (QoL). It is a factor that is positively related to treatment adherence, and QoL motivates the patient to manage their disease and achieve health and happiness in the long term. We undertook this study in a district of South India among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) to assess their QoL. Methodology A cross-sectional study was conducted among T2DM patients registered in a noncommunicable disease (NCD) clinic in an urban health center in Tiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu. Participants were selected using a systematic random sampling method from the NCD clinic register. Sociodemographic details of the participants were collected using a pretested, semistructured questionnaire, following which the World Health Organization Quality of Life-Brief Version Scale (WHOQOL-BBREF) questionnaire was used to assess the QoL. Data was entered in MS Excel (Microsoft Corporation, Redmond, Washington, United States) and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows, Version 25.0 (Released 2017; IBM Corp., Armonk, New York, United States). Results The mean age of the study participants was 53.5 ± 9.2 years. Females constituted 63.81% of the study population compared to males (36.19%). Domain-wise, 55.83% had good physical QoL, 49.1% had good psychological QoL, 49.69% had good social QoL, and 57.1% had good environmental QoL. Overall, 52.8% had a good QoL across all the domains. Conclusion The current study found that patients with diabetes had a good QoL with the exception in educational category. However, it is essential to create an awareness among the diabetic patients about the QoL and also the measures that they can practice to improve their QoL, which should be emphasized through health education, information education communication (IEC), and counselling in NCD clinics.

Abstract
Evidence suggests that diabetes is on the rise in India, affecting many people's life satisfaction. Comprehensive estimation of life satisfaction among diabetes patients does not exist in the country. This study examined the effects of socioeconomic status, depression, and diabetes symptoms severity on the life satisfaction of diabetes patients by controlling various demographic variables. It was a cross-sectional study comprising 583 diabetes patients from Punjab, India. Patients were interviewed using a multi-stage purposeful random sampling method. Descriptive analysis and partial least squares structural equation modelling were used in the study to test the hypotheses. Results revealed that socioeconomic status, depression and diabetes symptoms severity significantly influence the life satisfaction of diabetes patients. A 1% drop in diabetes symptoms severity corresponds to a 0.849% increase in life satisfaction, whereas a 1% decrease in depression results in a 0.898% increase in life satisfaction. Patients with higher diabetes symptoms severity were coping with common mental disorders. Women reported higher diabetes symptoms severity and depression than men, resulting in lower life satisfaction. An experimental evaluation of the effects of socioeconomic status, depression and diabetes symptoms severity, and numerous demographic factors on life satisfaction was reported. The findings will help policymakers understand the problem associated with life satisfaction among diabetes patients in the country.

Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate how changes in visual acuity are associated with changes in quality of life (QoL) among patients with non-infectious uveitis taking antimetabolites. METHODS This secondary analysis of the multicenter First-line Antimetabolites as Steroid-sparing Treatment (FAST) Uveitis Trial involves 216 participants randomized to methotrexate or mycophenolate mofetil. Vision-related (NEI-VFQ and IND-VFQ) and health-related (PCS and MCS SF-36v2) QoL and visual acuity were measured at baseline and 6-month primary endpoint. RESULTS Visual acuity was significantly associated and correlated with all QoL measures (Spearman correlation coefficients = 0.5, 0.5, 0.3, and 0.4 for NEI-VFQ, IND-VFQ, SF-36v2 MCS and PCS, respectively). All observed changes in QoL met or exceeded the minimal clinically important difference definition on each scale. Treatment group was not significantly associated with any QoL measure. Abstract
Introduction Patients with diabetes mellitus monitor their blood glucose at home with monitors that require a drop of blood or use a continuous glucose monitoring device that implants a small needle in the body. However, both cause discomfort to the patients which may inhibit them for regular blood glucose checks. Photoplethysmogram (PPG) sensing technology is an approach for non-invasive blood glucose measurement and PPG sensors can be used to predict hypoglycaemic episodes. InChcek is a PPG-based non-invasive glucose monitor. However, its accuracy has not been checked yet. Hence, this study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of InCheck, a non-invasive glucose monitor for the estimation of blood glucose. Methods In a tertiary care hospital, patients who came for blood glucose estimation were tested for blood glucose non-invasively on the InCheck device and then by the laboratory method (glucose oxidase-peroxidase). These two readings were compared. We used International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 15197:2013 (95% of values should be within ± 15 mg/dL of reference reading if reference glucose <100 mg/dL or within ± 15% of reference reading if reference glucose ≥100 mg/dL and 99% of the values should be within zones A and B in consensus error grid), and Surveillance Error Grid for analyzing the accuracy. Results A total of 1223 samples were analyzed. There was a significant difference between the reference method glucose level (135 [Q1-Q3: 97 - 179] mg/dL) and monitor-measured glucose level (188.33 [Q1-Q3: 167.33-209.33] mg/dL) (P < 0.0001). A total of 18.5% of readings were following ISO 15197:2013 criteria and 67.25% of coordinates were within zone A and zone B of the consensus error grid. In the surveillance error grid analysis, about 29.4% of values were in the no-risk zone, 51.8% in slight risk, 18.6% in moderate risk, and 0.2% were in the severe risk zone. Conclusion The accuracy of the InCheck device for the estimation of blood glucose by PPG signal is not following the recommended guidelines. Hence, further research is necessary for programming or redesigning the hardware and software for a better result from this optical sensor-based non-invasive home glucose monitor.
