Abstract
BACKGROUND Venous sinus stenosis, typically at the junction of the transverse and sigmoid sinus, is increasingly recognized as a contributor to the pathophysiology of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), whether it be the intrinsic type that does not reverse with normalization of intracranial pressure or the extrinsic type, which does. Efforts to treat the stenosis and reduce the associated transstenotic gradient through placement of a stent at the site of stenosis have been studied over the past 2 decades, primarily through retrospective studies, with variable emphasis on formal visual testing and direct assessment of poststent opening pressure. Most studies have presented evidence for utilization of stenting as an alternative to cerebrospinal fluid shunting or optic nerve sheath fenestration in patients with IIH who harbor the stenosis and are refractory to or intolerant of intracranial pressure-lowering medications, but an assessment of the current data is needed to better understand the role of stenting for this patient population. EVIDENCE ACQUISITION A search in PubMed was made for "IIH," "papilledema," and "venous stenting." Data pre and post stenting, including symptoms attributable to IIH, intracranial pressure, papilledema, retinal nerve fiber layer thickening on optical coherence tomography, and visual field assessment (mean deviation), were collected. Need for retreatment and complications were assessed among all studies. Studies using stenting for special circumstances, such as cerebrospinal leaks or for stenosis along anomalous vessels, were reviewed. RESULTS In total, 49 studies (45 retrospective and 4 prospective) and 18 case reports (with 3 or less patients) were found and included in the analysis, for a total of 1,626 patients. In 250 patients in whom poststent intracranial pressure was measured, the mean value was 19.7 cm H 2 O, reduced from a mean of 33 cm H 2 O. Transient visual obscurations resolved in 79.6% of 201 patients who complained of it, pulsatile tinnitus resolved in 84.7% of 515, diplopia resolved in 93% of 86 patients, and nonspecific visual symptoms such as "blurry vision" improved in 76.2% of 537 patients. Headaches resolved in 36% and improved in a further 40.7% of 1,105 patients in whom they were documented before stenting. Of 1,116 with papilledema, 40.8% demonstrated resolution and 38.2% improvement. The mean retinal nerve fiber layer thickness improved from 170.2 µm to 89.2 µm among 402 eyes in which optical coherence tomography was used to measure it. Among 135 eyes in which formal visual fields were performed pre and post stenting, the prestent average mean deviation of -7.35 dB improved to -4.72 dB after stenting. Complications associated with stenting included in-stent stenosis or thrombosis, subdural hematoma, intracerebral hematoma, cerebral edema, stent migration, and death. A recurrence of symptoms requiring a follow-up surgical intervention occurred in 9%. CONCLUSIONS A growing body of evidence supports the use of venous sinus stenting as a viable option for medically refractory IIH, especially when papilledema threatens visual function. Complication and failure rates seem to be similar to alternative surgical approaches, although serious neurological sequalae can rarely occur. Emerging studies evaluating stent type, including novel stents designed for use in the venous system, may help improve ease of the procedure and long-term success rates. Prospective head-to-head studies are needed to better understand the performance of stenting compared with other interventions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Sinus pericranii (SP) is a rare vascular anomaly, with an uncertain etiology. Often discovered as superficial lesions, they can be primary or secondary in nature. Herein, we report a rare case of SP in the setting of a large posterior fossa pilocytic astrocytoma associated with a significant venous network. OBSERVATIONS A 12-year-old male presented with acute clinical deterioration in extremis with a 2-month history of lethargy and headaches. Outside plain computed tomography imaging revealed a large posterior fossa cystic lesion, probably a tumor, with severe hydrocephalus. There was also a midline small skull defect at the opisthocranion, without visible vascular anomalies. An external ventricular drain was placed with rapid recovery. Contrast imaging revealed a large midline SP emanating from occipital bone with a large intraosseous, and subcutaneous venous plexus in the midline draining inferiorly into venous plexus around the craniocervical junction. A posterior fossa craniotomy without contrast imaging could have resulted in catastrophic hemorrhage. A small modified off-center craniotomy provided access to the tumor with a gross total excision. LESSONS SP is a rare but significant phenomenon. Its presence does not necessarily preclude resection of underlying tumors, provided that a careful preoperative assessment of the venous anomaly is undertaken.

Abstract
Advances in tumor diagnosis and treatment, especially the use of targeted therapies, have remarkably improved the survival rate of patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC), accompanied by higher hypertension (HTN) incidence among patients with RCC, reflecting the coming of a cardio-oncologic era. Therefore, for patients with RCC and HTN simultaneously, finding risk factors for the comorbidity and giving better clinical treatment have been urgent problems. In this review, we thoroughly investigated risk factors for the comorbidity of HTN and RCC based on preclinical and clinical studies. Firstly, RCC and HTN may have common risk factors, such as obesity, smoking, and other modifiable lifestyles. Secondly, RCC and HTN may lead to each other directly or indirectly by their therapies. We then discussed measures of reducing the comorbidity and treatment of HTN in patients with RCC. We also discussed the deficiency of current studies and pointed out future directions. In conclusion, this review aims to deepen the understanding of cardio-oncology and bring benefit to the population who are at high risk of getting or have already got RCC and HTN simultaneously.

Abstract
Few cases have been reported of extra-cranial tumours in the neck causing intracranial hypertension due to jugular vein compression and consequent outflow obstruction. We present a case of a patient presenting with transient vision loss due to intracranial hypertension of unidentifiable cause on initial imaging workup. Upon further evaluation, the patient was found to have a neck tumour compressing the right jugular vein with stenosis of the ipsilateral transverse sinus - both contributing to his intracranial hypertension. Atypical patients presenting with symptoms concerning for intracranial hypertension may benefit from imaging below the level of the head to evaluate for extra-cranial causes.

Abstract
Background Intracranial venous hypertension has been associated with a few cases of meningioma secondary to compression of the venous sinus. This is the rare case of small meningioma involving the sigmoid sinus leading to intracranial venous hypertension mimicking venous thrombosis. Case presentation A 39-year-old woman suffered visual dysfunction due to bilateral papilledema. Noncontrast head computed tomography (CT) showed no intracranial space-occupying lesions or hydrocephalus. Cerebrospinal fluid examination revealed high opening pressure. Various image inspections such as three-dimensional CT angiography, magnetic resonance imaging, and cerebral angiography demonstrated a small 2.5-cm lesion causing subtotal occlusion of the dominant right sigmoid sinus. No improvement of clinical manifestations was observed after medical treatment for 6 months, so right presigmoid craniectomy was performed. Operative findings revealed that the tumor was located predominantly involving the sigmoid sinus. The pathological diagnosis was fibrous meningioma. Postoperative fundoscopic examination showed improvement of bilateral papilledema. Conclusions We treated a patient presenting with intracranial hypertension due to a small meningioma involving the sigmoid sinus. This unusual case suggests that early surgical strategies should be undertaken to relieve the sinus obstruction.

Abstract
Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is a rare condition that can be difficult to diagnose due to its vague and nonspecific symptoms. It is even more unusual to identify CVT in association with malignancy. Given the rarity of this disease, treatment and management of CVT in the setting of malignancy is not well defined. This case report and review of the literature addresses the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and medical treatment for malignancy-related CVT.

Abstract
Intracranial mass lesions may cause intracranial hypertension secondary to venous hypertension when they compress the dural venous sinuses (DVS) and may present with isolated papilloedema, mimicking idiopathic intracranial hypertension. We report a series of 16 patients with isolated papilloedema related to meningiomas compressing the DVS seen from 2012 to 2016 at three institutions. Correct diagnosis was delayed in 10/16 patients and treatment required a multidisciplinary approach, often with multiple sequential interventions, including combinations of acetazolamide, cerebrospinal fluid-shunt, optic nerve sheath fenestration, surgical resection of the meningioma, radiation therapy, and endovascular venous stenting. Two patients also received anticoagulation for venous thrombosis secondary to venous sinus compression.
