Abstract
Adenomyosis is associated with a negative impact on reproductive outcomes. Although adenomyosis is detected more frequently in women of late reproductive age, its impact on pregnancy rates is important because, in today's world, family planning has shifted towards the late reproductive phase of life for many women. Although the diagnostic indications for imaging studies are well-known, we lack strict diagnostic criteria and classification systems concerning the extent of the disease. Selecting the optimal evidence-based treatment option for adenomyosis is difficult because of the paucity of evidence concerning the association between fertility and the degree and composition of adenomyosis. Furthermore, the treatment of infertility might interfere with the treatment of adenomyosis due to the presence of pain. The aim of this review is to analyze the association between adenomyosis and infertility, and describe treatment options to enhance reproductive outcomes. The following aspects will be addressed in detail: (a) prevalence and causes of adenomyosis, (b) diagnostic tools with imaging techniques, (c) clinical symptoms, (d) proposed pathomechanism of adenomyosis and infertility, and (e) different treatment approaches (pharmacological, surgical, others) and their impact on reproductive outcomes.

Abstract
Endometriosis is a benign chronic disease in women that is characterized by the presence of active foci of the endometrium or endometrial tissue occurring outside of the uterus. The disease causes disabling symptoms such as pelvic pain and infertility, which negatively affect a patient's quality of life. In addition, endometriosis imposes an immense financial burden on the healthcare system. At present, laparoscopy is the gold standard for diagnosing the disease because other non-invasive diagnostic tests have less accuracy. In addition, other diagnostic tests have low accuracy. Therefore, there is an urgent need for the development of a highly sensitive, more specific, and non-invasive test for the early diagnosis of endometriosis. Numerous researchers have suggested miRNAs as potential biomarkers for endometriosis diagnosis due to their specificity and stability. However, the greatest prognostic force is the determination of several miRNAs, the expression of which varies in a given disease. Despite the identification of several miRNAs, the studies are investigatory in nature, and there is no consensus on them. In the present review, we first provide an introduction to the dysregulation of miRNAs in patients with endometriosis and the potential use of miRNAs as biomarkers in the detection of endometriosis. Then we will describe the role of the mir-200 family in endometriosis. Several studies have shown that the expression of the mir-200 family changes in endometriosis patients, suggesting that they could be used as a diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic target for endometriosis.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE (1) To characterize the cytokine expression profiles of endometriosis related infertile women in comparison to fertile women with endometriosis; (2) to investigate the correlation of the cytokine levels from different tissues. METHODS 100 stage IV endometriosis patients were recruited and grouped by infertility status (n = 50, separately). Concentrations of TNF-α, TGF-β1, IL-10, and IL-17A from the serum, peritoneal fluid (PF), eutopic, and ectopic endometrium samples were measured. RESULTS (1) In the infertile group, the concentrations of IL-10 within serum, PF and eutopic endometrium were all significantly higher (p = .022 and <.01, .013, respectively), the levels of TGF-β1 in serum and eutopic endometrium samples were both higher (p = .025 and p < .01), the levels of IL-17A in the PF, eutopic, and ectopic endometrium were all lower (p < .01, all). (2) Significant positive correlation was observed between IL-17A from PF and the ectopic endometrium (p = .014), IL-17A from PF and eutopic endometrium (p < .01). The PF IL-10 levels positively correlated with those in the serum (p = .007). CONCLUSIONS This is the first study comparing the levels of cytokines within four different tissues of endometriosis women with or without infertility. The study revealed that endometriosis-related infertile women possess significant differences in cytokine levels in comparison to fertile women with endometriosis. The levels of inflammatory factors from different tissues had certain positive correlations. Infertility may indicate the progress of the disease.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of a sex education program on sexual function and sexual quality of life in women with endometriosis. METHODS In a quasi-experimental study, women with endometriosis who had undergone laparoscopic surgery were assigned to an intervention group (n = 36) or a control group (n = 36). The intervention group received a sex education program consisting of two sessions a week (90 min each) for two consecutive weeks; the control group received none. Both groups were followed for 12 weeks. Sexual function and sexual quality of life were assessed on the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and the Sexual Quality of life-Female (SQOL-F) questionnaire before the intervention, as well as 8 and 12 weeks after the intervention. Outcomes were analyzed using Student t test, the χ2 test, Fisher exact test, and repeated measures analysis of variance. RESULTS The mean age of the study participants was 36.9 ± 5.7 years. The two groups did not differ significantly in terms of demographics and pre-intervention clinical characteristics. At the end of the study, sex education reduced female sexual dysfunction by 58.1% in the intervention group. The mean FSFI score increased significantly in the intervention group from pre-intervention to 8 and 12 weeks post-intervention compared with the scores in the control group (P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS Sex education appears to be a promising intervention for reducing sexual dysfunction and improving sexual function and sexual quality of life in women with endometriosis. Future studies should encompass longer periods of follow up to obtain further data on the efficacy of sex education in this setting.
