Abstract
Background High-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC), the predominant subtype of epithelial ovarian cancer, is frequently diagnosed at an advanced stage due to its nonspecific early symptoms. Despite standard treatments, including cytoreductive surgery and platinum-based chemotherapy, significant improvements in survival have been limited. Understanding the molecular mechanisms, immune landscape, and drug sensitivity of HGSOC is crucial for developing more effective and personalized therapies. This study integrates insights from cancer immunology, molecular profiling, and drug sensitivity analysis to identify novel therapeutic targets and improve treatment outcomes. Utilizing single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), the study systematically examines tumor heterogeneity and immune microenvironment, focusing on biomarkers influencing drug response and immune activity, aiming to enhance patient outcomes and quality of life. Methods scRNA-seq data was obtained from the GEO database in this study. Differential gene expression was analyzed using gene ontology and gene set enrichment methods. InferCNV identified malignant epithelial cells, while Monocle, Cytotrace, and Slingshot software inferred subtype differentiation trajectories. The CellChat software package predicted cellular communication between malignant cell subtypes and other cells, while pySCENIC analysis was utilized to identify transcription factor regulatory networks within malignant cell subtypes. Finally, the analysis results were validated through functional experiments, and a prognostic model was developed to assess prognosis, immune infiltration, and drug sensitivity across various risk groups. Results This study investigated the cellular heterogeneity of HGSOC using scRNA-seq, focusing on tumor cell subtypes and their interactions within the tumor microenvironment. We confirmed the key role of the C2 IGF2+ tumor cell subtype in HGSOC, which was significantly associated with poor prognosis and high levels of chromosomal copy number variations. This subtype was located at the terminal differentiation of the tumor, displaying a higher degree of malignancy and close association with stage IIIC tissue types. The C2 subtype was also associated with various metabolic pathways, such as glycolysis and riboflavin metabolism, as well as programmed cell death processes. The study highlighted the complex interactions between the C2 subtype and fibroblasts through the MK signaling pathway, which may be closely related to tumor-associated fibroblasts and tumor progression. Elevated expression of PRRX1 was significantly connected to the C2 subtype and may impact disease progression by modulating gene transcription. A prognostic model based on the C2 subtype demonstrated its association with adverse prognosis outcomes, emphasizing the importance of immune infiltration and drug sensitivity analysis in clinical intervention strategies. Conclusion This study integrates molecular oncology, immunotherapy, and drug sensitivity analysis to reveal the mechanisms driving HGSOC progression and treatment resistance. The C2 IGF2+ tumor subtype, linked to poor prognosis, offers a promising target for future therapies. Emphasizing immune infiltration and drug sensitivity, the research highlights personalized strategies to improve survival and quality of life for HGSOC patients.

Abstract
Introduction: Despite significant medical and technological advancements, cardiac arrest remains a critical public health concern due to its persistently high mortality and morbidity rates. Consequently, research on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is of significant importance. Materials and Methods: This study presents a bibliometric analysis of the 100 most-cited articles in the field of CPR identified using the Scopus database without time restrictions. Analyses were conducted using VOSviewer and Bibliometrix software. Original research articles published in English were included. Results: The study revealed contributions from 798 distinct authors across 18 journals, with citation counts ranging from 218 least-cited articles to 1194 most-cited articles. The most recent article was published in 2020, and the most frequently used keywords were "CPR" and "heart arrest." In addition, 20% of the analyzed articles were funded by military organizations. Conclusion: This analysis highlights the significant contributions of emergency medicine researchers and the notable development of CPR literature, particularly between the late 1990s and the early 2000s. While the most-cited studies originated from journals with high H-indices, the citation frequency of these articles showed a consistent decline over time. Furthermore, impactful articles in this field were predominantly published in general medical journals rather than in specialized emergency medicine journals. This study provides a foundational resource for researchers, especially early career academicians, seeking to engage in CPR-related research.

Abstract
Background Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of thes most prevalent malignant tumors worldwide. Current therapeutic strategies for CRC have limitations, while nanomaterials show significant potential for diagnosing and treating CRC. This study utilizes bibliometric analysis to evaluate the current status and trends in this field. Methods Research on nanomaterials in CRC from 2003 to 2024 was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC). Tools such as CiteSpace, VOSviewer, RStudio, GraphPad Prism, and Excel were used to analyze trends and hotspots, covering publication trends, countries, institutions, authors, journals, co-citation analysis, and keywords. Visual maps were created to forecast future developments. Results The analysis includes 3,683 publications by 17,261 authors from 3,721 institutions across 100 countries/regions, published in 840 journals. Global publications have steadily increased, particularly since 2018. China leads in publication volume and citations, with six of the top ten research institutions and seven of the ten most cited authors, while the United States excels in citation impact and academic centrality. Both countries currently dominate the field, underscoring the urgent need for enhanced international collaboration. Ramezani M and Abnous K lead in publication volume and H-index, while Siegel RL is highly cited. The International Journal of Nanomedicine has the highest publication volume, while the Journal of Controlled Release is the most cited. In addition to "colorectal cancer" and "nanoparticles," the most common keyword is "drug delivery." Emerging research areas such as "metal-organic frameworks (MOFs)" and "green synthesis" are gaining attention as leading hotspots. Conclusion This study offers an in-depth analysis of the application of nanomaterials in CRC, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and advancing scientific progress in this field.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Objective : To explore the association of serum transactive response DNA binding protein 43 (TDP-43) with 28-day poor neurologic outcome in patients with return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) after cardiac arrest. Methods : We performed a study between January and December 2023. Eligible patients with ROSC following cardiac arrest were enrolled. Their baseline characteristics were collected, and serum levels of TDP-43, tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-6 and 10, C-reactive protein, and neuron-specific enolase (NSE) at 24 h after ROSC were measured. The neurologic function was assessed by the cerebral performance category scores on day 28 after ROSC. Results : A total of 92 patients were included, with 51 and 41 patients in the good and poor neurologic outcome groups, respectively. Serum TDP-43 was significantly higher in the poor than the good neurologic outcome group ( P < 0.05). Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that TDP-43, Witnessed CA, IL-6, and NSE were associated with poor 28-day neurologic outcome (all P < 0.05). Restricted cubic spline analysis revealed that TDP-43 at the serum level of 11.64 pg/mL might be an ideal cutoff value for distinguishing between good and poor neurologic outcomes. Area under curve of serum TDP-43 (AUC = 0.78) was close to that of serum NSE (AUC = 0.82). A dynamic nomogram prediction model that combined TDP-43, Witnessed CA, IL-6, and NSE was constructed and validated. Conclusion : Elevated serum TDP-43 level was associated with and could be used together with Witnessed CA, IL-6, and NSE to predict poor 28-day neurologic outcome in patients after ROSC following cardiac arrest.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Unsustained return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) is a critical barrier to survival in cardiac arrest patients. This study examined whether end-tidal carbon dioxide (ETCO2) and pulse oximetry photoplethysmogram (POP) parameters can be used to identify unsustained ROSC. METHODS We conducted a multicenter observational prospective cohort study of consecutive patients with cardiac arrest from 2013 to 2014. Patients' general information, ETCO2, and POP parameters were collected and statistically analyzed. RESULTS The included 105 ROSC episodes (from 80 cardiac arrest patients) comprised 51 sustained ROSC episodes and 54 unsustained ROSC episodes. The 24-hour survival rate was significantly higher in the sustained ROSC group than in the unsustained ROSC group (29.2% vs. 9.4%, P<0.05). The logistic regression analysis showed that the difference between after and before ROSC in ETCO2 (ΔETCO2) and the difference between after and before ROCS in area under the curve of POP (ΔAUCp) were independently associated with sustained ROSC (odds ratio [OR]=0.931, 95% confidence interval [95% CI] 0.881-0.984, P=0.011 and OR=0.998, 95% CI 0.997-0.999, P<0.001). The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of ΔETCO2, ΔAUCp, and the combination of both to predict unsustained ROSC were 0.752 (95% CI 0.660-0.844), 0.883 (95% CI 0.818-0.948), and 0.902 (95% CI 0.842-0.962), respectively. CONCLUSION Patients with unsustained ROSC have a poor prognosis. The combination of ΔETCO2 and ΔAUCp showed significant predictive value for unsustained ROSC.

Abstract
BACKGROUND We aimed to observe the dynamic changes in glucose metabolic reprogramming-related parameters and their ability to predict neurological prognosis and all-cause mortality in cardiac arrest patients after the restoration of spontaneous circulation (ROSC). METHODS Adult cardiac arrest patients after ROSC who were admitted to the emergency or cardiac intensive care unit of the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University from August 1, 2017, to May 30, 2021, were enrolled. According to 28-day survival, the patients were divided into a non-survival group (n=82) and a survival group (n=38). Healthy adult volunteers (n=40) of similar ages and sexes were selected as controls. The serum levels of glucose metabolic reprogramming-related parameters (lactate dehydrogenase [LDH], lactate and pyruvate), neuron-specific enolase (NSE) and interleukin 6 (IL-6) were measured on days 1, 3, and 7 after ROSC. The Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II (APACHE II) score and Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score were calculated. The Cerebral Performance Category (CPC) score was recorded on day 28 after ROSC. RESULTS Following ROSC, the serum LDH (607.0 U/L vs. 286.5 U/L), lactate (5.0 mmol/L vs. 2.0 mmol/L), pyruvate (178.0 μmol/L vs. 70.9 μmol/L), and lactate/pyruvate ratio (34.1 vs. 22.1) significantly increased and were higher in the non-survivors than in the survivors on admission (all P<0.05). Moreover, the serum LDH, pyruvate, IL-6, APACHE II score, and SOFA score on days 1, 3 and 7 after ROSC were significantly associated with 28-day poor neurological prognosis and 28-day all-cause mortality (all P<0.05). The serum LDH concentration on day 1 after ROSC had an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 0.904 [95% confidence interval [95% CI]: 0.851-0.957]) with 96.8% specificity for predicting 28-day neurological prognosis and an AUC of 0.950 (95% CI: 0.911-0.989) with 94.7% specificity for predicting 28-day all-cause mortality, which was the highest among the glucose metabolic reprogramming-related parameters tested. CONCLUSION Serum parameters related to glucose metabolic reprogramming were significantly increased after ROSC. Increased serum LDH and pyruvate levels, and lactate/pyruvate ratio may be associated with 28-day poor neurological prognosis and all-cause mortality after ROSC, and the predictive efficacy of LDH during the first week was superior to others.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Background: Ischemia-reperfusion after cardiac arrest (CA) activates peptidyl arginine deiminase and citrullinated histone H3 (CitH3), which leads to the formation of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs). This study attempted to determine the alterations in NET components in post-CA patients as well as analyze the association of NETs with 28-day all-cause mortality. Methods : In this study, 95 patients with restoration of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) after CA were included. They were categorized into the survivor group (n = 32) and the nonsurvivor group (n = 63) according to their 28-day survival statuses. The control group comprised 20 healthy individuals. The blood samples were collected from the patients on days 1, 3, and 7 after ROSC and from the control subjects at the time of enrollment. The serum cell-free DNA (cfDNA) level was determined using the fluorescent labeling method, and the serum concentrations of NET components, including CitH3, myeloperoxidase, neutrophil elastase, and nucleosomes, were estimated using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results : Compared with the control group, the serum NET components were significantly increased in the patients 1 week after ROSC (all P < 0.05). These components were significantly higher in the nonsurvivor group than in the survivor group (all P < 0.05). Spearman correlational analysis revealed that the components were positively correlated with Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II scores (both P < 0.05). Binary logistic regression analysis indicated that serum cfDNA, CitH3, and nucleosomes on days 1 and 3 after ROSC were independent predictors of 28-day all-cause mortality. Furthermore, these parameters on day 1 after ROSC had the biggest areas under the receiver operating characteristic curves (0.876, 0.862, and 0.861, respectively). Conclusions: Elevated serum levels of cfDNA, CitH3, myeloperoxidase, neutrophil elastase, and nucleosomes were positively correlated with disease severity after ROSC. However, only serum CitH3, cfDNA, and nucleosomes on day 1 after ROSC showed a good predictive value for 28-day all-cause mortality.

Abstract
Objective Temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) is the most common cause of drug-resistant epilepsy and can be treated surgically to control seizures. In this study, we analyzed the relevant research literature in the field of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) treatment to understand the background, hotspots, and trends in TLE treatment research. Methods We discussed the trend, frontier, and hotspot of scientific output in TLE treatment research in the world in the last 20 years by searching the core collection of the Web of Science database. Excel and CiteSpace software were used to analyze the basic data of the literature. Result We identified a total of 2,051 publications on TLE treatment from 75 countries between 2003 and 2023. We found that the publication rate was generally increasing. The United States was the most publishing country; among the research institutions on TLE treatment, the University of California system published the most relevant literature and collaborated the most with other institutions. The co-citation of literature, keyword co-occurrence, and its clustering analysis showed that the early studies focused on open surgical treatment, mainly by lobectomy. In recent years, the attention given to stereotactic, microsurgery, and other surgical techniques has gradually increased, and the burst analysis indicated that new research hotspots may appear in the future in the areas of improved surgical procedures and mechanism research.

Abstract
Objective The relevant literatures in the field of pulmonary neuroendocrine tumor were analyzed to understand the lineage, hot spots and development trends of research in this tumor. Method The Web of Science core collection was searched for English-language literature about neuroendocrine tumors of the lung published between 2000 and 2022. CiteSpace software was imported for visualization analysis of countries, institutions, co-cited authors and co-cited journals and sorting of high-frequency keywords, as well as co-cited references and keyword co-occurrence, clustering and bursting display. Results A total of 594 publications on neuroendocrine tumours of the lung were available, from 2000 to 2022, with an overall upward trend of annual publications in the literature. Authors or institutions from the United States, Italy, Japan and China were more active in this field, but there was little cooperation among the major countries. Co-cited references and keyword co-occurrence and cluster analysis showed that research on diagnostic instruments, pathogenesis, ectopic ACTH signs, staging and prognosis and treatment was a current research hotspot. The keyword bursts suggested that therapeutic approaches might be a key focus of future research into the field for pulmonary neuroendocrine tumors. Conclusion Over these 20 years, research related to neuroendocrine tumors of the lung has increased in fervour, with research on diagnostic instruments, pathogenesis, ectopic ACTH signs, staging and prognosis, and treatment being the main focus of research. Therapeutic treatments may be the future research trend in this field.

Abstract
Background Testicular torsion is an acute scrotal disorder requiring immediate emergency treatment. Ischemic injury and reperfusion injury are important causes of oxidative stress and irreversible oxidative damage after testicular torsion. Although a large number of literatures have discussed the causes and treatment of testicular torsion, there is currently a lack of systematic exploration of the historical evolution of testicular torsion and the construction of a knowledge framework. Method The Web of Science Core Collection was searched for studies on testicular torsion published between 2000 and 2022. The basic data of the literature were analyzed by using Excel and CiteSpace software. Result A total of 1,007 publications on testicular torsion published were found in 64 countries between 2000 and 2022, with an increasing annual publication level. Early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment of testicular torsion had always been at the core of clinical practice, and the pathological cascade reaction of ischemic injury and ischemia-reperfusion injury after testicular torsion were also at the core of basic research. Emphasis had been placed on the development of protective drugs for ischemia and reperfusion after testicular torsion in various countries, regions and institutions. Conclusion Over the past 20 years, the research on testicular torsion had been widely concerned. Hot topics in testicular torsion in recent years were ischemia-reperfusion injury, oxidative stress, rat, doppler ultrasonography, diagnosis and orchiectomy. This article may provide a useful resource for clinicians and basic researchers regarding testicular torsion.
