Abstract
CLINICAL RELEVANCE YouTube is a widely used medical information source, offering educational content on health conditions and treatments. However, its unregulated nature raises concerns about accuracy, reliability, and accessibility. Assessing online medical content quality is important to ensure that patients receive credible, evidence-based guidance. BACKGROUND Keratoconus is a progressive corneal disorder that can lead to visual impairment. Corneal cross-linking (CXL) is an effective treatment that strengthens the corneal structure and halts disease progression. YouTube is frequently used by patients seeking information about diseases and treatments. This study aimed to evaluate the quality and reliability of YouTube videos on CXL. METHODS A cross-sectional analysis was conducted on YouTube videos related to CXL. Five commonly searched keywords were identified using Google Trends, and a YouTube search was performed. Among the first 100 videos ranked by relevance, 69 met the inclusion criteria. Video characteristics, including source, content type, narrator gender, and accessibility features, were recorded. Quality and reliability were assessed using the DISCERN, Global Quality Score (GQS), and Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) scoring systems. Statistical analyses examined differences in video quality based on information source and gender. RESULTS The overall quality of YouTube videos on CXL was average, with a mean DISCERN score of 42.5 ± 11.8, GQS of 3.28 ± 0.94, and JAMA score of 2.75 ± 0.68. Videos uploaded by clinicians (39.1%) and health channels (31.9%) had significantly higher quality scores than patient-uploaded videos (29%) (p < 0.05). No significant correlation was found between video popularity and quality metrics. Narrator gender had no significant effect on video quality or popularity metrics (p > 0.05). CONCLUSION While clinician- and health channel-produced videos demonstrated higher quality, this did not translate into greater engagement, highlighting a disconnect between popularity and informational value.

Abstract
Purpose This study seeks to evaluate the quality and reliability of information regarding de Quervain's tenosynovitis on YouTube. Materials and Methods A search on the YouTube was performed using the keywords de Quervain's tenosynovitis , and the first 50 videos were evaluated. Video characteristics including views, content type, and video upload source were recorded. Video reliability was assessed using the Journal of the American Medical Association ( JAMA ) benchmark criteria. Video quality was assessed using the Global Quality Score (GQS) and a novel de Quervain's Tenosynovitis-Specific Score (DQT-SS). Results The total number of views for all videos evaluated was 5,508,498 (mean, 110,169.96 ± 155,667.07). Video reliability and quality metrics were low, with a mean JAMA score of 2.17 ± 0.82 out of 4, a mean GQS of 2.49 ± 1.28 out of 5, and a mean DQT-SS of 4.53 ± 2.35 out of 11. Significant between-group effects were found for the video source and DQT-SS ( p = 0.027), as well as between content type and JAMA score ( p = 0.027), GQS ( p = 0.003), and DQT-SS ( p = 0.003). Positive independent predictors of DQT-SS included video duration in seconds (β = 0.391) and disease-specific information content type (β = 0.648). Conclusion Videos on YouTube regarding de Quervain's tenosynovitis were frequently viewed; however, the information present was of low quality and reliability. Physician-uploaded videos had the highest mean JAMA scores, GQS, and DQT-SS, but had the second-lowest mean number of views of video sources. Patients should receive proper in-office education and be directed toward reputable resources for their orthopaedic conditions.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Back pain during pregnancy is a common issue that impacts the quality of life for many women. YouTube has become an increasingly popular source of health information. Pregnant women often turn to YouTube for advice on managing back pain, but the quality of available videos is highly variable. This study aimed to assess the quality and comprehensiveness of YouTube videos related to back pain during pregnancy. METHODS A YouTube search was conducted using the keyword "back pain in pregnancy", and the first 100 resulting videos were included in the study. After a thorough review and exclusion of ineligible videos, the final sample consisted of 71 videos. Various parameters such as the number of views, likes, viewer interaction, video age, uploaded source (healthcare or nonhealthcare), and video length were evaluated for all videos. RESULTS Regarding the source of the videos, 44 (61.9%) were created by healthcare professionals, while 27 (38%) were created by nonprofessionals. Videos created by healthcare professionals had significantly higher scores in terms of DISCERN score, Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) score, and Global Quality Scale (GQS) (P < 0.001). Our findings indicate a statistically significant and strong positive correlation among the three scoring systems (P < 0.001). CONCLUSION Videos created by healthcare professionals were generally of higher quality, but many videos were still rated as low-moderate quality. The majority of videos focused on self-care strategies, with fewer discussing other treatment options. Our findings highlight the need for improved quality and comprehensiveness of YouTube videos on back pain during pregnancy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The objective of this study is to evaluate online educational resources on cleft lip and palate teams. DESIGN A Cross-Sectional Study. SETTING An International, Multi-Institutional Study. PARTICIPANTS All American Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Association-approved teams with websites. INTERVENTIONS None. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Websites were assessed for patient education and support content. Affiliation between presence of materials and U.S. Newsweek Top 100 Hospitals was also assessed. RESULTS 187 teams were included. Presence of educational videos were available in 29.4% of websites, educational infographics in 18.2%, written materials in 66.8%, perioperative instructions in 19.3%, diagnosis information in 34.8% and treatment information in 63.1%. Information on team members were available on 77.0% of websites, resources in languages other than English in 38.5%, and support group resources in 25.7%. Cleft lip and palate diagnosis information was significantly associated with geographic region, with the largest impact from the West region (P = .03). There was a significant difference between teams affiliated with U.S. Newsweek Top 100 hospitals: Top 100 hospitals had a higher presence of educational infographics, perioperative instructions, definitions, diagnosis, and treatment (P < .01). There was no significant difference between presence of educational videos (P = .37). CONCLUSION While many websites had basic educational materials, very few included detailed information on peri-operative planning, as well as additional forms of information including videos, infographics, and non-English languages. Providing comprehensive patient education materials online is an important supplement for patients with cleft lip and palate and should be prioritized by cleft teams.

Abstract
Background Inflammatory back pain is a chronic condition with localized pain, particularly in the axial spine and sacroiliac joints, that is associated with morning stiffness and improves with exercise. YouTube is the second most frequently used social media platform for accessing health information. This study sought to investigate the quality and reliability of YouTube videos on inflammatory back pain (IBP). Methods The study design was planned as cross-sectional. A search was conducted using the term "inflammatory back pain," and the first 100 videos that met the inclusion criteria were selected on October 19, 2023. The data of the videos selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria in the study settings were examined. Videos with English language, with audiovisual content , had a duration >30 s, non-duplicated and primary content related to IBP were included in the study. A number of video parameters such as the number of likes, number of views, duration, and content categories were assessed. The videos were assessed for reliability using the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Benchmark criteria and the DISCERN tool. Quality was assessed using the Global Quality Score (GQS). Continuous variables were checked for normality of distribution using Shapiro-Wilk test and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney U test were used to analyze the continuous data depending on the number of groups. Categorical data were analyzed using Pearson's chi-square test. Results Reliability assessment based on JAMA scores showed 21% of the videos to have high reliability. Quality assessment based on GQS results showed 19% of the videos to have high quality. JAMA, DISCERN, and GQS scores differed significantly by source of video (p < 0.001, < 0.001, and = 0.002, respectively). Video duration had a moderate positive correlation with scores from the GQS (r = 0.418, p < 0.001), JAMA (r = 0.484, p < 0.001), and modified DISCERN (r = 0.418, p < 0.001). Conclusion The results of the present study showed that YouTube offers videos of low reliability and low quality on inflammatory back pain. Health authorities have a responsibility to protect public health and should take proactive steps regarding health information shared on social media platforms.

Abstract
: Background. The COVID-19 pandemic has imposed a paradigm shift in the pedagogical methodology for a resilient medical educational university system.
The epidemiological context has imposed a large-scale closure of universities and disturbed traditional methods of teaching and learning (the direct face-to-face patient-student clinical interactions).
Social networks such as the YouTube platform seemed to be a complementary source for medical information, providing a modern, viable e-health strategy for physiotherapy students.
Only nine studies addressed rehabilitation in various pathologies, but none of them analyzed the quality of videos focusing on neuraxial rehabilitation.
Methods. During the 2021–2022 academic year, six undergraduate license theses focused on the frequently encountered pathology in the Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Clinic of TEHBA: rehabilitation after spinal cord injury, stroke, Parkinson`s disease, and disk hernia.
The studies started with the hypothesis that the materials posted on the YouTube platform might have variable-quality content depending on the provider who posted the film. The students were given guidance to search for and select the videos and instructions to use the DISCERN and global quality (GQS) scales and to classify the technical and scientific features of each item using descriptive analysis.
These qualitative Likert scales assess several video parameters, including the audio-visual flow, the content's medical knowledge value, and its applicability to physiotherapy students.
Given the use of public-domain videos available to the general public and posted in the mass media on the YouTube platform, the approval of the Ethical Council was not necessary.
Results. Each movie's scientific content was assessed according to its significance, relevance, and clarity.
Videos posted to the YouTube platform by healthcare professionals (including experienced physiotherapists), healthcare institutions, and academic health organizations achieved the highest DISCERN and GQS scores compared to other video sources.
Videos posted by vloggers (independent authors or patients) received the lowest reliability and quality scores.
Discussion. The article presents a timely and relevant study on integrating digital tools in medical education. Although many YouTube videos with kinesiotherapy and rehabilitation content have offered valuable information, students and younger residents should be aware that the social platform sometimes fails to provide high-quality content.
YouTube administrators, vloggers, and publishers should use validity scales (such as DISCERN and GQS) as standard guides for quality self-control and promote reliable, evidence-based medical information.
Conclusions. A judicious use of e-health education and social media platforms during the COVID-19 pandemic represented complementary sources of reliable medical information for physiotherapy students.

Abstract
Background Videos relating to rehabilitation exercises for common injuries relevant to younger populations such as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear receive high view counts on social media platforms such as TikTok. Purpose/Hypothesis The purpose of this study was to analyze the quality, reliability, and educational value of TikTok videos among the patient population for ACL injury. It was hypothesized that TikTok videos related to ACL rehabilitation exercises would lack quality, reliability, and educational value. Study Design Cross-sectional study. Methods TikTok was queried for relevant videos using the hashtags "#ACLrehab" and "#ACLexercises." For each included video, the type of uploader (general user or health care professional) was identified. In addition, the number of views, likes, shares, comments, and favorites for each included video was recorded, and the content of each video was graded using the DISCERN (a well-validated informational analysis tool) and the ACL exercise education score (ACLEES - a custom-designed tool for the evaluation of ACL-related exercises). Results A total of 111 videos with 5,520,660 cumulative views were included; the median number of views per video was 9801.0 (interquartile range [IQR], 3583.0-28,000.0). Of these videos, 84 and 27 were created by the general public and health care professionals, respectively. The videos collectively received 335,577 likes, 2969 comments, 22,856 favorites, and 6142 shares, with a median of 439 (IQR, 111-1374), 10 (IQR, 2.5-25.5), 54 (IQR, 18-172.5), and 12 (IQR, 2-36), respectively. The tabulated scores for the DISCERN and ACLEES between general users and health care professionals were all statistically nonsignificant. Health care professionals had a higher percentage of videos with a "very poor" DISCERN score in comparison with the general public (66.67% vs 53.57%, respectively). Conclusion The overall educational value of the TikTok videos related to ACL rehabilitation exercises was very poor. Health care professionals should be aware of the broad distribution of ACL rehabilitation exercise videos that are accessible on TikTok and raise awareness of the deficiencies of the platform as a medium for educational medical-related information.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrinopathy in women, resulting in substantial burden related to metabolic, reproductive, and psychological complications. While attempts have been made to understand the themes and sentiments of the public regarding PCOS at the local and regional levels, no study has explored worldwide views, mainly due to financial and logistical limitations. YouTube is one of the largest sources of health-related information, where many visitors share their views as questions or comments. These can be used as a surrogate to understand the public's perceptions. OBJECTIVE We analyzed the comments of all videos related to PCOS published on YouTube from May 2011 to April 2023 and identified trends over time in the comments, their context, associated themes, gender-based differences, and underlying sentiments. METHODS After extracting all the comments using the YouTube application programming interface, we contextually studied the keywords and analyzed gender differences using the Benjamini-Hochberg procedure. We applied a multidimensional approach to analyzing the content via association mining using Mozdeh. We performed network analysis to study associated themes using the Fruchterman-Reingold algorithm and then manually screened the comments for content analysis. The sentiments associated with YouTube comments were analyzed using SentiStrength. RESULTS A total of 85,872 comments from 940 PCOS videos on YouTube were extracted. We identified a specific gender for 13,106 comments. Of these, 1506 were matched to male users (11.5%), and 11,601 comments to female users (88.5%). Keywords including diagnosing PCOS, symptoms of PCOS, pills for PCOS (medication), and pregnancy were significantly associated with female users. Keywords such as herbal treatment, natural treatment, curing PCOS, and online searches were significantly associated with male users. The key themes associated with female users were symptoms of PCOS, positive personal experiences (themes such as helpful and love), negative personal experiences (fatigue and pain), motherhood (infertility and trying to conceive), self-diagnosis, and use of professional terminology detailing their journey. The key themes associated with male users were misinformation regarding the "cure" for PCOS, using natural and herbal remedies to cure PCOS, fake testimonies from spammers selling their courses and consultations, finding treatment for PCOS, and sharing perspectives of female family members. The overall average positive sentiment was 1.6651 (95% CI 1.6593-1.6709), and the average negative sentiment was 1.4742 (95% CI 1.4683-1.4802) with a net positive difference of 0.1909. CONCLUSIONS There may be a disparity in views on PCOS between women and men, with the latter associated with non-evidence-based approaches and misinformation. The improving sentiment noticed with YouTube comments may reflect better health care services. Prioritizing and promoting evidence-based care and disseminating pragmatic online coverage is warranted to improve public sentiment and limit misinformation spread.

Abstract
Background Long COVID is a multisystemic condition which affects quality of life and implies a multidisciplinary treatment approach. There is still limited evidence on management techniques for this syndrome. "Telerehabilitation" could be an important tool when addressing the symptoms of this patients with the aim of increasing their quality of life. The purpose of this trial is to analyse the effectiveness of an online multimodal rehabilitation programme to improve the symptomatology of people with long COVID and their quality of life. Methods A pragmatic randomised controlled trial will be performed with two parallel groups: (1) usual treatment by the primary care practitioner (Treatment as usual, TAU; control group) and (2) TAU plus the use of an online multimodal rehabilitation programme, including videoconferences and content published on a Moodle platform (intervention group). The data will be collected before and after the intervention. A follow-up will take place 3 months later. Discussion There is still a lack of knowledge regarding the management of the symptoms of long COVID. This creates the need to add scientific evidence about the care of this disease, considering that multidisciplinary social and health teams can offer the necessary care so that these patients can recover their previous quality of life.Clinical trial registration: The protocol for this study was registered with the ISRCTN Registry [registration number: ISRCTN15414370] on 28 December 2022.

Abstract
This correlational study aimed to identify factors that contribute to changes in perceptions of digital technology among older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study utilized raw data from "The 2021 Report on the Digital Divide," a nationwide survey conducted in South Korea. Data were collected from 1171 older adults (aged ≥ 65 years) from September to December 2021. Multiple regression analyses were performed to examine the factors influencing changes in the perception of digital technology. Over one-third of the participants reported positive changes in their perceptions of digital technology during the pandemic. Key factors included self-efficacy for digital devices (β = 0.35, p < 0.001), digital networking (β = 0.11, p < 0.001), accessibility to digital devices (β = 0.10, p = 0.002), and perceived health (β = 0.08, p = 0.003). The expansion of digital technology owing to the pandemic has served as a catalyst for changes in older adults' perceptions. Healthcare providers and caregivers should consider digital technology perceptions and influencing factors when providing digital healthcare services. The results can be utilized to identify vulnerable older adults with negative perceptions of digital technology, thus minimizing disparities in access to digital healthcare services.

Abstract
Background YouTube plays an influential role in disseminating health-related information in the digital age. This study aimed to evaluate YouTube videos on transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) in terms of their information value and quality. Methods In this descriptive study, we ranked the first 100 videos that met the inclusion criteria using the search term "transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation" on October 30, 2022. These videos were classified according to the number of views, likes, dislikes, comments, duration, popularity and content categories. Reliability, quality, and accuracy of the videos were assessed using the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) Benchmark Criteria and Modified DISCERN Questionnaire and Global Quality Score (GQS). Video popularity were calculated by the Video Power Index (VPI). Results Based on the GQS results, we found that 59, 27, and 14 videos had low, intermediate, and high quality, respectively. In addition, based on the JAMA results, 79 and 21 videos had poor and high reliability, respectively. No statistically significant difference was found between the JAMA, modified DISCERN and GQS scores in terms of the sources of videos (p = 0.226, p = 0.115, p = 0.812). Notably, there was a weak positive correlation between the JAMA scores and the number of views (r = 0.204, p = 0.041). Conclusion According to our study results, most YouTube videos on TENS were of low quality and reliability. Additionally, most videos were uploaded from sources created by doctors; the most frequently found content was about the TENS procedure, and content on complications of the procedure became less frequent as the videos became more recent. In particular, it was found that videos uploaded by academics have longer duration. It has been found that reliable videos with high JAMA scores also have high number of views. Accordingly, it can be concluded that videos with higher quality and more reliability that are created by healthcare providers will be more useful for patients seeking information about TENS.
