Drug Repositioning Using Computer-aided Drug Design (CADD)

Drug repositioning is a method of using authorized drugs for other unusually complex diseases. Compared to new drug development, this method is fast, low in cost, and effective. Through the use of outstanding bioinformatics tools, such as computer-aided drug design (CADD), computer strategies play a vital role in the re-transformation of drugs. The use of CADD's special strategy for target-based drug reuse is the most promising method, and its realization rate is high. In this review article, we have particularly focused on understanding the various technologies of CADD and the use of computer-aided drug design for target-based drug reuse, taking COVID-19 and cancer as examples. Finally, it is concluded that CADD technology is accelerating the development of repurposed drugs due to its many advantages, and there are many facts to prove that the new ligand-targeting strategy is a beneficial method and that it will gain momentum with the development of technology.

Experimental Investigation and Comparative Analysis of Aluminium Hybrid Metal Matrix Composites Reinforced with Silicon Nitride, Eggshell and Magnesium

In today's scenario, composite materials play a vital role in automobile, aerospace, and defence sectors because of their higher strength, light weight and other mechanical properties. Aluminium alloy Al6082 is a medium strength alloy with good corrosion resistance properties; hence, it is used for high-stress applications, bridges, cranes, etc. The present work focuses on comparing the mechanical properties of Al6082 and Al6082 with the addition of silicon nitride, magnesium, and bio waste of eggshells. Samples of Al6082 reinforced with 2% of silicon nitride (Si₃N₄), 5% of eggshell, and 1% magnesium reinforcements were prepared using the crucible casting process. Mechanical properties were evaluated through hardness test, tensile test and compressive tests, which varied with the additives of reinforcement materials. The results showed that the reinforced materials could increase mechanical properties. Further, it will be analysed by the machining parameters involved through the CNC turning process. Analysis of variance from optimisation technique shows a noteworthy increment of material removal rate (MRR) and significant decrement in surface roughness (Ra) and machining time compared to standard aluminium. Additionally, the analysis of mechanical testing has been predicted with the outcomes of stresses and displacements using the ANSYS platform.

Influence of capillary tube length on the performance of domestic refrigerator with eco-friendly refrigerant R152a

The household heating and cooling system often use the capillary device. The use of the helical capillary eliminates the need for lightweight refrigeration devices in the system. Capillary pressure is noticeably affected by the capillary geometric parameters, such as length, mean diameter, and pitch. This paper is concerned with the effects of the capillary length on the performance of the system. Three separate length capillary tubes were used in the experiment. The data on R152a were studied under various conditions to assess the impact of varying the length. Maximum COP is obtained at an evaporator temperature of − 12 °C and capillary length of 3.65 m. The result is drawn that the system performance enhances when the capillary length is improved to 3.65 m when compared to 3.35 m and 3.96 m. As a result, as the capillary length increases up to a specific amount, the system's performance improves. The findings from the experiment were compared with those from the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis.
