Abstract
INTRODUCTION Several authors have suggested an association between the ABO system (ABOS) and the risk of SARS CoV-2 infection. The objective of the present study was to identify the susceptibility of ABOS blood groups to COVID-19 at the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) of Mali. MATERIAL AND METHODS This was an unpaired case-control study. The cases (402) were COVID-19 patients, and the controls (5438) were Muslim pilgrims, all of whom had undergone ABO blood grouping at the INSP. Logistic regression was performed to identify factors associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection status using SPSS version25 software. RESULTS Blood types had the following frequencies: O(34%), B(30%), A(28%), AB(8%) for cases and O(42%), B(27%), A(25%), AB(6%) for controls. COVID-19 positive status was not significantly associated with blood groups A(oR=1.17; CI95%[0.93-1.47]), B(OR=1.11; CI95%[0.89-1.39]) and AB(OR=1.41; CI95%[0.97-2.06]). However, blood group O subjects were 28 times less likely to have COVID-19 than non-O(OR=0.72; CI95%[0.58-0.89). CONCLUSION The results show that blood group O individuals were less likely to have SARS CoV-2 infection than non-O individuals. This should not affect the use of barrier measures in ABOS groups.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Maternal mortality remains a public health problem in developing countries, including Mali. Among the factors associated with maternal mortality are sociodemographic and economicfactors, but also dysfunctions related to the health care system. It is in this context that this study was conducted in the gynecology and obstetrics department of the Nianankoro Fomba Hospital in Ségou to determine the factors associated with maternal deaths by the audit method in the Segouregion. METHOD It was a cross-sectional, descriptive and retrospective study that was conducted from January 2014 to December 2015. The data were captured and analyzed on Epi Info version 2003. RESULTS The analysisincluded 41 auditeddeaths out of 79 maternaldeathsreportedduring the period, amaternalmortality rate of 51.90%. Direct obstetric causes accounted for the majority (51.23%). Of these causes hemorrhagewas the main with 17.08% followed by eclampsia (14.63%). 31.71% of deathswerepreventable. The main riskfactorsidentifiedwere: delayed care, referral / evacuationdelay, diagnostic errors (hospitallevel), non-availability of blood. CONCLUSION Continueddeath audits at the healthfacilitylevelcouldbe an approach to improving the quality of care and reducingmaternal and perinataldeaths.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study the care of children suffering from severe acute malnutrition with complications at the URENI of the pediatrics of the CHU (University Hospital) Gabriel TOURE. PATIENTS AND METHOD it was a comprehensive cross-sectional study with a retrospective collection of data on children monitored for the treatment of severe acute malnutrition from January 1st till December 31st, 2014. We, also, conducted a qualitative survey of staff and carers of children under treatment during the survey period. RESULTS 490 patients were admitted directly to URENI. The 12-23 month age group was predominant (46.5%). The sex ratio was 1.09 in favor of the male sex. The success rate of treatment at the URENI was 51.40%. At the URENAS, the dropout rate was 27.50%. At the URENAM, the dropout rate was 72.70%. Almost all the carers interviewed during the individual interviews and focus groups were satisfied with nutritional care. CONCLUSION The lack of autonomous hospitalization rooms at the URENI and the inadequacies noticed at the level of performance indicators have to motivate the creation of an URENI answering the standards at the level of the pediatrics of the CHU (University Hospital) Gabriel TOURE.

Abstract
UNLABELLED Diarrhea remains a real public health problem as it is the second leading cause of under-five mortality. In tropical environments, studies show several factors contributing to the frequency and severity of diarrhea. It is in this context that the present study of the factors favoring diarrheal diseases in children from 0 to 5 years old has been carried out. MATERIALS AND METHODS Cross-sectional cluster survey involving 200 mothers of 0-5 year-old children from November 2015 to October 2016. The Pearson Chi2 test was used with a 95% confidence level. RESULTS Married women accounted for 85.5% of our sample, 47% of whom had no education. Of the mothers surveyed, 17% of their children had had at least one episode of diarrhea in the two weeks before the survey. Almost all mothers (94%) washed their hands before feeding their children and 13% did not do so after cleaning the children. Regarding the cleanliness of the concession, it was bad in 23.5%. The majority of mothers (51%) did not know the significance of diarrhea, 43% reported the means of transmission, and 28% had inadequate practice in managing diarrhea. Some factors favor the occurrence of diarrhea such as: mixed breastfeeding that was statistically significant (p = 0.014), as well as poor hand hygiene practices (p = 0.027) and concessions (p = 0.000), as well as than the bad knowledge of the subject (p = 0.000). CONCLUSION Our study shows that diarrhea was a disease of the hands rooms, hence the interest of strengthening the awareness of mothers for best practices for behavior change.

Abstract
Mali makes left of the 26 important countries in the world of which 18 in Africa for the elimination of tetanus neonatal. The plan of action conceived to this effect doesn't keep the District of Bamako like zone of intervention, had consideration to the sanitary conditions judged among best in the country. However, the district of Bamako arranges today of a number important of peripheral districts whose isolated sanitary realities can generate some indicators different of the middle indicators of the District. It is for this reason that we undertook this work, while using the LQAS method separately in each of the six communes of the district of Bamako, for i) to determine the percentage of mothers of children of 15 at 49 years having received at least two doses of antitetanus vaccine at the time of their last pregnancy in each of the six communes of the district, ii) to identify the non effective zones of the district concerning vaccination of mothers of children of less than 23 months. It was about an investigation of antitetanus vaccinal coverage of mothers of children of less than 23 months by gone residents since at least 3 months in the six communes of the district of Bamako in April 2004. The vaccinal status of targets of the survey was established from the card of vaccination or the notebook of health delivered at the time of the prenatal consultations. In the first five communes, for topics not having card or notebook of health us established the vaccinal status also by cross-examination, what has been qualified of determination of the statute by " history ", Of the survey it comes out again that the rates of cover in at least two doses of antitetanus antigen of mothers of children of less than 23 months vary from 17.6 ± 7.2% (Commune V ) to 78.4 ± 7.0% (Commune II) according to the card. In the first five townships these rates go from 46.3 ± 9.5 % (commune V) to 94.01 ± 3.4% (commune IV) according to the card and history. According to the card, the communes I, IV and V, didn't record any zone of cover of the CSCOMS concerning vaccinations where the rate of mothers having received the VAT2 reaches 80%, in reference to the value of decision (6) either vaccinated at least 13 topics (68,4%) by lot. The assessment of the coverage according to the card and history improves this weak performance noted in certain zones of cover (communes I, III, IV). Results of this survey put as it was always the case the problem of data compilation concerning assessment of the vaccinal coverage. And for reasons of efficiency, an approach associating the backing of the routine’s vaccination, of countries of mass magazines and a highly efficient surveillance of tetanus neonatal is to consider.
