Bendamustine lymphodepletion is a well-tolerated alternative to fludarabine and cyclophosphamide lymphodepletion for axicabtagene ciloleucel therapy for aggressive B-cell lymphoma. Am J Hematol 2023; 98:1751-1761. Abstract
Fludarabine/cyclophosphamide (Flu/Cy) is established for lymphodepletion (LD) prior to standard-of-care CAR T-cell therapy for lymphoma. There is ongoing need to test alternative LD regimens to preserve efficacy, improve safety, and address challenges including the recent national fludarabine shortage. We retrospectively evaluated outcomes among patients with relapsed/refractory aggressive B-cell lymphoma who received bendamustine (n = 27) or Flu/Cy (n = 42) LD before axicabtagene ciloleucel (axi-cel) at our institution. The median change in absolute lymphocyte count from pre-LD to time of axi-cel infusion was -0.6×109 /L in bendamustine cohort and -0.7×109 /L in Flu/Cy cohort. The best overall response/complete response rates were 77.8% (95% CI: 57.7%-91.4%)/48.1% (95% CI: 28.7%-68.1%) among bendamustine cohort and 81.0% (95% CI: 65.9%-91.4%)/50.0% (95% CI: 34.2%-65.8%) among Flu/Cy cohort. Six-month progression-free survival were 43.8% (95% CI: 24.7%-61.3%) and 55.6% (95% CI: 39.0%-69.3%) in bendamustine and Flu/Cy cohorts, while 6-month overall survival were 81.5% (95% CI: 61.1%-91.8%) and 90.4% (95% CI: 76.4%-96.3%), respectively. Relative to Flu/Cy-treated patients, bendamustine-treated patients did not show an increase in hazards associated with experiencing progression/relapse/death (aHR:1.4 [95% CI: 0.7-2.8]; p = .32) or death (aHR:1.6 [95% CI: 0.5-5.6]; p = .46), after adjusting for baseline number of prior therapies and refractory disease. Any grade/grade ≥3 CRS were observed in 89%/3.7% and 86%/4.8% among bendamustine and Flu/Cy cohorts, while any grade ICANS/grade ≥3 ICANS were observed in 30%/19% and 55%/31% respectively. While more Flu/Cy-treated patients experienced grade ≥3 neutropenia compared with bendamustine-treated patients (100% vs. 68%), grade ≥3 infectious complications were comparable (24% vs. 19% respectively). More patients received bendamustine LD and axi-cel as outpatient than Flu/Cy cohort, without increased toxicities and with shorter median inpatient stays. In conclusion, we observed comparable efficacy and lower any grade ICANS among patients receiving bendamustine relative to Flu/Cy LD, followed by axi-cel.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to examine the association between nasal septal deviation and antrochoanal polyp. METHODS This was a retrospective review of medical records and imaging of patients who underwent endoscopic sino-nasal surgery for antrochoanal polyp. RESULTS Forty-eight patients operated on for antrochoanal polyp between 2009 and 2019 were eligible for the study. The median age was 32 years, and 52.1 per cent were male. Antrochoanal polyp was diagnosed equally in the right and left nasal cavities. Septal deviation was present in 77 per cent of such cases. In 44 per cent of septal deviation cases, the antrochoanal polyp was ipsilateral to the deviation, which was not statistically significant. The type of deviation according to the Mladina classification was not correlated with the laterality of septal deviation and antrochoanal polyp. CONCLUSION The laterality of the septal deviation was not found to be correlated with that of the antrochoanal polyp. Therefore, performing routine septoplasty during antrochoanal polyp surgery is unnecessary unless the deviation interferes with the complete extraction of the polyp.

Odderon Exchange from Elastic Scattering Differences between pp and pp[over ¯] Data at 1.96 TeV and from pp Forward Scattering Measurements. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2021; 127:062003. Abstract
We describe an analysis comparing the pp[over ¯] elastic cross section as measured by the D0 Collaboration at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV to that in pp collisions as measured by the TOTEM Collaboration at 2.76, 7, 8, and 13 TeV using a model-independent approach. The TOTEM cross sections, extrapolated to a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV, are compared with the D0 measurement in the region of the diffractive minimum and the second maximum of the pp cross section. The two data sets disagree at the 3.4σ level and thus provide evidence for the t-channel exchange of a colorless, C-odd gluonic compound, also known as the odderon. We combine these results with a TOTEM analysis of the same C-odd exchange based on the total cross section and the ratio of the real to imaginary parts of the forward elastic strong interaction scattering amplitude in pp scattering for which the significance is between 3.4σ and 4.6σ. The combined significance is larger than 5σ and is interpreted as the first observation of the exchange of a colorless, C-odd gluonic compound.

Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation for Relapsed and Refractory Philadelphia Negative B Cell ALL in the Era of Novel Salvage Therapies. Transplant Cell Ther 2020; 27:255.e1-255.e9. Abstract
Introduction of novel salvage therapies and expansion of the donor pool within the past decade have allowed more patients with relapsed/refractory (r/r) B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) to receive allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (alloHCT). The impact of each salvage therapy on transplant outcomes have not been compared. Our primary objective was to determine post-HCT relapse-free survival (RFS) in adult patients with r/r Philadelphia-chromosome negative (Phneg) B-ALL. We retrospectively studied alloHCT outcomes in 108 adult patients with r/r Phneg B-ALL transplanted in morphological remission achieved by salvage therapy. Salvage therapies were chemotherapy-based combination (n = 45, 42%), blinatumomab (n=43, 40%), inotuzumab (n = 14, 13%), or CAR T cells (n = 6, 6%). The 2-year RFS and overall survival (OS) were 44% and 50%, respectively. In multivariable analysis, conditioning with reduced-intensity or non-myeloablative regimens (hazard ratio [HR] = 2.23, 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.31-3.80; P = .003), having received ≥3 lines of therapies prior to transplant (HR = 2.66, 95% CI, 1.56-4.54; P < .001), and inotuzumab (HR = 2.42, 95% CI, 1.14-5.12; Wald P value = .021) were independently associated with lower RFS. Blinatumomab (HR = 1.10, 95% CI, 0.62-1.96) had comparable RFS to chemotherapy. Incidence of hepatic sinusoidal syndrome was highest with inotuzumab (P < .001); however, 30-day mortality and intensive care unit admissions were not different per salvage therapy. The alloHCT in r/r Phneg B-ALL after remission induction with blinatumomab or chemotherapy led to encouraging outcomes if morphologic CR was achieved. In contrast, pretransplantation inotuzumab therapy was associated with inferior RFS. Larger studies are warranted to confirm our observations. Early transplantation after relapse and the utilization of myeloablative conditioning, when feasible, were key factors associated with improved outcomes after alloHCT in these patients.

Abstract
We present a measurement of the effective weak mixing angle parameter sin^{2}θ_{eff}^{ℓ} in pp[over ¯]→Z/γ^{*}→μ^{+}μ^{-} events at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV, collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider and corresponding to 8.6 fb^{-1} of integrated luminosity. The measured value of sin^{2}θ_{eff}^{ℓ}[μμ]=0.23016±0.00064 is further combined with the result from the D0 measurement in pp[over ¯]→Z/γ^{*}→e^{+}e^{-} events, resulting in sin^{2}θ_{eff}^{ℓ}[comb]=0.23095±0.00040. This combined result is the most precise measurement from a single experiment at a hadron collider and is the most precise determination using the coupling of the Z/γ^{*} to light quarks.

Abstract
The CDF and D0 experiments at the Fermilab Tevatron have measured the asymmetry between yields of forward- and backward-produced top and antitop quarks based on their rapidity difference and the asymmetry between their decay leptons. These measurements use the full data sets collected in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV. We report the results of combinations of the inclusive asymmetries and their differential dependencies on relevant kinematic quantities. The combined inclusive asymmetry is A_{FB}^{tt[over ¯]}=0.128±0.025. The combined inclusive and differential asymmetries are consistent with recent standard model predictions.

Abstract
In this article, we present the case of a 52-year-old male with a history of parotid carcinosarcoma with initial diagnosis being 18 months prior. Initial treatment included a combination of gamma knife surgery coupled with high dosage chemotherapy and X-ray radiation therapy. At the time of follow-up, the patient presented with no complaints and had a nearly normal physical exam with the exception of some facial nerve weakness on the same side as the initial surgery. Despite being asymptomatic, the patient had a significant progression of disease that was manifested with intracranial lesions, multiple pathologic fractures, and a dramatic increase in overall tumor burden. Ultimately, the patient decided to pursue comfort measures only and succumbed to the disease peacefully soon thereafter.

Abstract
We report evidence for a narrow structure, X(5568), in the decay sequence X(5568)→B_{s}^{0}π^{±}, B_{s}^{0}→J/ψϕ, J/ψ→μ^{+}μ^{-}, ϕ→K^{+}K^{-}. This is evidence for the first instance of a hadronic state with valence quarks of four different flavors. The mass and natural width of this state are measured to be m=5567.8±2.9(stat)_{-1.9}^{+0.9}(syst) MeV/c^{2} and Γ=21.9±6.4(stat)_{-2.5}^{+5.0}(syst) MeV/c^{2}. If the decay is X(5568)→B_{s}^{*}π^{±}→B_{s}^{0}γπ^{±} with an unseen γ, m(X(5568)) will be shifted up by m(B_{s}^{*})-m(B_{s}^{0})∼49 MeV/c^{2}. This measurement is based on 10.4 fb^{-1} of pp[over ¯] collision data at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron collider.

Prognostic value of complete remission with superior platelet counts in acute myeloid leukemia. JOURNAL OF COMMUNITY AND SUPPORTIVE ONCOLOGY 2016; 14:66-71. Abstract
BACKGROUND Complete remission (CR) in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is defined as having ≤5% leukemic blast cells in the bone marrow and return of normal hematopoiesis after the first induction cycle. There is a subset of patients, however, who achieve reduction of leukemic blast cells with a subnormal platelet count, designated as CR with incomplete platelet recovery (platelet count, ≤100,000/mcL; normal, 150,000-450,000/mcL), which is associated with inferior outcomes when compared with CR. Furthermore, there is another subset of patients with CR but superior platelet counts (≥400,000/mcL) whose prognostic significance is unclear. OBJECTIVE To establish whether CR with superior platelet counts is associated with better outcomes and can be used as a separate entity for prognostication. METHODS A retrospective chart review of 104 cases of AML was conducted. The highest platelet count during days 25-35 from initiation of induction chemotherapy (designated as day 30 platelet count) was documented. A multivariate analysis for other factors such as age, sex, risk categories, day 14+ plasma cell count (average plasma cell percentage at days 14-21), infections, allogeneic bone marrow transplant, and remission status was done. RESULTS Day 30 platelet count was found to be an independent predictor of survival in AML. On the multivariate analysis, the subgroup with superior platelet counts (≥400,000/mcL) was found to be associated with better outcomes. LIMITATIONS Results need to be validated in a larger cohort. CONCLUSIONS CR with superior platelet recovery (≥400,000/mcL) is a unique subcategory in itself and has prognostic significance. This may help better assess response to chemotherapeutic agents and aid in further decision-making regarding treatment.

Abstract
We present a study of the inclusive production of the X(4140) state with the decay to the J/ψϕ final state in hadronic collisions. Based on 10.4 fb^{-1} of pp[over ¯] collision data collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron collider, we report the first evidence for the prompt production of an X(4140) state and find the fraction of X(4140) events originating from b hadrons to be f_{b}=0.39±0.07(stat)±0.10(syst). The ratio of the nonprompt X(4140) production rate to the B_{s}^{0} yield in the same channel is R=0.19±0.05(stat)±0.07(syst). The values of the mass M=4152.5±1.7(stat)_{-5.4}^{+6.2}(syst) MeV and width Γ=16.3±5.6(stat)±11.4(syst) MeV are consistent with previous measurements.

Abstract
We present the first search for CPT-violating effects in the mixing of Bs(0) mesons using the full Run II data set with an integrated luminosity of 10.4 fb(-1) of proton-antiproton collisions collected using the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We measure the CPT-violating asymmetry in the decay Bs(0)→μ(±)Ds(±) as a function of celestial direction and sidereal phase. We find no evidence for CPT-violating effects and place limits on the direction and magnitude of flavor-dependent CPT- and Lorentz-invariance violating coupling coefficients. We find 95% confidence intervals of Δa⊥<1.2×10(-12) GeV and (-0.8<ΔaT-0.396ΔaZ<3.9)×10(-13) GeV.

Abstract
We present the final combination of CDF and D0 measurements of cross sections for single-top-quark production in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The data correspond to total integrated luminosities of up to 9.7 fb^{-1} per experiment. The t-channel cross section is measured to be σ_{t}=2.25_{-0.31}^{+0.29} pb. We also present the combinations of the two-dimensional measurements of the s- vs t-channel cross section. In addition, we give the combination of the s+t channel cross section measurement resulting in σ_{s+t}=3.30_{-0.40}^{+0.52} pb, without assuming the standard model value for the ratio σ_{s}/σ_{t}. The resulting value of the magnitude of the top-to-bottom quark coupling is |V_{tb}|=1.02_{-0.05}^{+0.06}, corresponding to |V_{tb}|>0.92 at the 95% C.L.

Abstract
We present a measurement of the fundamental parameter of the standard model, the weak mixing angle sin^{2}θ_{eff}^{ℓ} which determines the relative strength of weak and electromagnetic interactions, in pp[over ¯]→Z/γ^{*}→e^{+}e^{-} events at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV, using data corresponding to 9.7 fb^{-1} of integrated luminosity collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. The effective weak mixing angle is extracted from the forward-backward charge asymmetry as a function of the invariant mass around the Z boson pole. The measured value of sin^{2}θ_{eff}^{ℓ}=0.23147±0.00047 is the most precise measurement from light quark interactions to date, with a precision close to the best LEP and SLD results.

Tevatron constraints on models of the Higgs boson with exotic spin and parity using decays to bottom-antibottom quark pairs. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2015; 114:151802. Abstract
Combined constraints from the CDF and D0 Collaborations on models of the Higgs boson with exotic spin J and parity P are presented and compared with results obtained assuming the standard model value JP=0+. Both collaborations analyzed approximately 10 fb(-) of proton-antiproton collisions with a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV collected at the Fermilab Tevatron. Two models predicting exotic Higgs bosons with JP=0- and JP=2+ are tested. The kinematic properties of exotic Higgs boson production in association with a vector boson differ from those predicted for the standard model Higgs boson. Upper limits at the 95% credibility level on the production rates of the exotic Higgs bosons, expressed as fractions of the standard model Higgs boson production rate, are set at 0.36 for both the JP=0- hypothesis and the JP=2+ hypothesis. If the production rate times the branching ratio to a bottom-antibottom pair is the same as that predicted for the standard model Higgs boson, then the exotic bosons are excluded with significances of 5.0 standard deviations and 4.9 standard deviations for the JP=0- and JP=2+ hypotheses, respectively.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) is a highly curable malignancy. However, 30% of patients die during therapy induction from bleeding, differentiation syndrome (DS), and/or infection. Recommendations suggest that congestive heart failure (CHF) is a presenting feature of DS. OBJECTIVE To assess the incidence of CHF during induction in patients with APL. METHODS A retrospective chart review was performed of patients diagnosed with APL from December 2004 to July 2013 and managed at Georgia Regents University Cancer Center. Baseline and follow-up ejection fractions (EF) were recorded and patients with a drop in EF during the induction period were evaluated. RESULTS Of the 40 evaluable patients, 37 received idarubicin-based chemotherapy. 16 of the 37 patients had a repeat ECHO for suspected cardiomyopathy, and 6 of the 16 patients (37.5%) demonstrated a decrease in EF (absolute drop, 10%-35%). The cardiac function recovered completely in 4 patients and partially in 1 patient. Gender, history of hypertension, and body mass index did not seem to correlate with incidence of CHF. LIMITATIONS The patient population is very small given the rarity of the disease. Present practice patterns do not routinely address CHF in the differential diagnosis. CONCLUSIONS Patients with APL are at risk for cardiac toxicity for a number of reasons, including cytokine storm and inflammatory state, use of anthracyclines, and DS. The clinical presentation of DS most commonly involves dyspnea and fluid retention, which are also symptoms of heart failure. Prompt cardiac evaluation should be undertaken to rule out CHF in APL patients who are going to receive an anthracycline-based therapy, because early intervention may result in an improved outcome.

Measurement of the B(s)(0) lifetime in the flavor-specific decay channel B(s)(0)→D(s)(-)μ(+)νX. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2015; 114:062001. Abstract
We present an updated measurement of the B(s)(0) lifetime using the semileptonic decays B(s)(0)→D(s)(-)μ(+)νX, with D(s)(-)→ϕπ(-) and ϕ→K(+)K(-) (and the charge conjugate process). This measurement uses the full Tevatron Run II sample of proton-antiproton collisions at √[s]=1.96 TeV, comprising an integrated luminosity of 10.4 fb(-1). We find a flavor-specific lifetime τ(fs)(B(s)(0))=1.479±0.010(stat)±0.021(syst) ps. This technique is also used to determine the B(0) lifetime using the analogous B(0)→D(-)μ(+)νX decay with D(-)→ϕπ(-) and ϕ→K(+)K(-), yielding τ(B(0))=1.534±0.019(stat)±0.021(syst) ps. Both measurements are consistent with the current world averages, and the B(s)(0) lifetime measurement is one of the most precise to date. Taking advantage of the cancellation of systematic uncertainties, we determine the lifetime ratio τ(fs)(B(s)(0))/τ(B(0))=0.964±0.013(stat)±0.007(syst).

Measurement of the forward-backward asymmetry in the production of B(±) mesons in pp̄ collisions at √s=1.96 TeV. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2015; 114:051803. Abstract
We present a measurement of the forward-backward asymmetry in the production of B(±) mesons, A(FB)(B(±)), using B(±)→J/ψK(±) decays in 10.4 fb(-1) of pp̄ collisions at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV collected by the D0 experiment during Run II of the Tevatron collider. A nonzero asymmetry would indicate a preference for a particular flavor, i.e., b quark or ̄b antiquark, to be produced in the direction of the proton beam. We extract A(FB)(B(±)) from a maximum likelihood fit to the difference between the numbers of forward- and backward-produced B(±) mesons. We measure an asymmetry consistent with zero: A(FB)(B(±))=[-0.24±0.41 (stat)±0.19 (syst)]%.

Utility and impact of early t(15;17) identification by Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) in clinical decision making for patients in Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL). Abstract
INTRODUCTION Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL) is a curable malignancy with studies showing above 90% survival. However, population-based studies looking at survival suggest that approximately 30% of patients with APL die during induction. Early demonstration of t(15;17) will lead to accurate decision making regarding treatment. The aim of this project was to validate earlier time frames for the Abbott Molecular Vysis LSI promyelocytic leukemia (PML)/ retinoic acid receptor alpha (RARA) fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) probe (ASR 6-16 h). METHODS Twenty patients (15 APL cases and five non-APL cases) were selected for validating various hybridization times for the FISH probe. Expected normal signal pattern was two red and two green signals (2R2G), and the most common expected abnormal signal pattern was two fusion (yellow) signals, one red and one green (2F1R1G) and/or one fusion, one red and one green (1F1R1G). RESULTS The specificity of the probe ranged from 84% at 2 h, 86% at 4 h, 84% at 6 h, and 87% for overnight hybridization. The sensitivity increased from 79% at 2 h, 80% at 4 h, 81% at 6 h to 87% for overnight hybridization. CONCLUSION Based on the validation studies, we recommend reading of FISH results at the 4-h incubation mark for a preliminary diagnosis and confirmation with overnight hybridization.

Constraints on models for the Higgs boson with exotic spin and parity in VH → Vbb final states. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2014; 113:161802. Abstract
We present constraints on models containing non-standard-model values for the spin J and parity P of the Higgs boson H in up to 9.7 fb(-1) of pp collisions at sqrt[s] = 1.96 TeV collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. These are the first studies of Higgs boson J(P) with fermions in the final state. In the ZH → ℓℓbb, WH → ℓνbb, and ZH → ννbb final states, we compare the standard model (SM) Higgs boson prediction, J(P) = 0(+), with two alternative hypotheses, J(P) = 0(-) and J(P) = 2(+). We use a likelihood ratio to quantify the degree to which our data are incompatible with non-SM J(P) predictions for a range of possible production rates. Assuming that the production rate in the signal models considered is equal to the SM prediction, we reject the J(P) = 0(-) and J(P) = 2(+) hypotheses at the 97.6% CL and at the 99.0% CL, respectively. The expected exclusion sensitivity for a J(P) = 0(-) (J(P) = 2(+)) state is at the 99.86% (99.94%) CL. Under the hypothesis that our data are the result of a combination of the SM-like Higgs boson and either a J(P) = 0(-) or a J(P) = 2(+) signal, we exclude a J(P) = 0(-) fraction above 0.80 and a J(P) = 2(+) fraction above 0.67 at the 95% CL. The expected exclusion covers J(P) = 0(-) (J(P) = 2(+)) fractions above 0.54 (0.47).

Abstract
The treatment of infected nonunions is difficult. Antibiotic cement-coated (ACC) rods provide stability as well as delivering antibiotics. We conducted a review of 110 infected nonunions treated with ACC rods. Patients were divided into two groups: group A (67 patients) with an infected arthrodesis, and group B (43 patients) with an infected nonunion in a long bone. In group A, infected arthrodesis, the success rate after the first procedure was 38/67 (57%), 29/67 (43%) required further surgery for either control of infection or non-union. At last follow-up, five patients required amputation, representing a limb salvage rate of 62/67 (93%) overall. In all, 29/67 (43%) presented with a bone defect with a mean size of 6.78 cm (2 to 25). Of those with a bone defect, 13/29 (45%) required further surgery and had a mean size of defect of 7.2 cm (3.5 to 25). The cultures were negative in 17/67 (26%) and the most common organism cultured was methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) (23/67, (35%)). In group B, long bones nonunion, the success rate after the first procedure was 26/43 (60%), 17/43 (40%) required further surgery for either control of infection or nonunion. The limb salvage rate at last follow-up was 43/43 (100%). A total of 22/43 (51%) had bone defect with a mean size of 4.7 cm (1.5 to 11.5). Of those patients with a bone defect, 93% required further surgery with a mean size of defect of 5.4 cm (3 to 8.5). The cultures were negative in 10/43 (24%) and the most common organism cultured was MRSA, 15/43 (35%). ACC rods are an effective form of treatment for an infected nonunion, with an acceptable rate of complications. Cite this article: Bone Joint J 2014; 96-B:1349–54

Abstract
We measure the mass of the top quark in lepton+jets final states using the full sample of pp collision data collected by the D0 experiment in Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron Collider at sqrt[s] = 1.96 TeV, corresponding to 9.7 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity. We use a matrix element technique that calculates the probabilities for each event to result from tt production or background. The overall jet energy scale is constrained in situ by the mass of the W boson. We measure m(t) = 174.98 ± 0.76 GeV. This constitutes the most precise single measurement of the top-quark mass.

Abstract
In the present case, a 49-year-old white female presented to the clinic with a 2-month history of nausea, vomiting, and right upper quadrant pain. On examination a 3-cm mass on the right anterior scalene muscle was noted. A computed tomography scan was performed revealing a 8.7 × 7.7 × 6.1 cm retroperitoneal mass with possible invasion of the inferior vena cava and right renal and left common iliac veins. An excisional biopsy was performed with pathology compatible with spindle cell sarcoma. The patient was then sent for follow-up at the sarcoma clinic as an outpatient. However, before chemotherapy was to be started the patient would be admitted to the hospital with progressively worse nausea and vomiting. At that time the patient’s lab work showed lactic acidosis, acute renal failure, hyperuricemia, hyperphosphatemia, and hypocalcemia, which met the Cairo–Bishop criteria for tumor lysis syndrome (TLS). The patient was admitted to the intensive care unit and kidney dialysis initiated. The patient would become progressively obtunded at which time the family opted for hospice care. The patient eventually succumbed peacefully 3 days after her last admission. In this case report, we briefly review the literature on TLS in solid tumors, and we present a rare case of spontaneous TLS in a retroperitoneal sarcoma.

Abstract
We report the first observation of single-top-quark production in the s channel through the combination of the CDF and D0 measurements of the cross section in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The data correspond to total integrated luminosities of up to 9.7 fb(-1) per experiment. The measured cross section is σ(s) = 1.29(-0.24)(+0.26) pb. The probability of observing a statistical fluctuation of the background to a cross section of the observed size or larger is 1.8 × 10(-10), corresponding to a significance of 6.3 standard deviations for the presence of an s-channel contribution to the production of single-top quarks.

We present a measurement of the W boson production charge asymmetry in pp̄→W+X→eν+X events at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV, using 9.7 fb-1 of integrated luminosity collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The neutrino longitudinal momentum is determined by using a neutrino weighting method, and the asymmetry is measured as a function of the W boson rapidity. The measurement extends over wider electron pseudorapidity region than previous results and is the most precise to date, allowing for precise determination of proton parton distribution functions in global fits.

Abstract
We present a measurement of the direct CP-violating charge asymmetry in Ds+ → ϕ π(±) decays where the ϕ meson decays to K(+)K(-), using the full Run II data set with an integrated luminosity of 10.4 fb-1 of proton-antiproton collisions collected using the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The normalized difference A(CP) in the yield of D(s)(+) and D(s)(-) mesons in these decays is measured by fitting the difference between their reconstructed invariant mass distributions. This results in an asymmetry of A(CP) = [-0.38 ± 0.27]%, which is the most precise measurement of this quantity to date. The result is consistent with the standard model prediction of zero CP asymmetry in this decay.

Abstract
We present the first measurements of the ratios of cross sections σ(pp → Z+c jet)/σ(pp → Z+jet) and σ(pp → Z+c jet)/σ(pp → Z+b jet) for the associated production of a Z boson with at least one charm or bottom quark jet. Jets have transverse momentum pT(jet)>20 GeV and pseudorapidity |η(jet)|<2.5. These cross section ratios are measured differentially as a function of jet and Z boson transverse momenta, based on 9.7 fb(-1) of pp collisions collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider at √s=1.96 TeV. The measurements show significant deviations from perturbative QCD calculations and predictions from various event generators.

Abstract
We present a search for Kaluza-Klein (KK) particles predicted by models with universal extra dimensions (UED) using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7.3 fb(-1), collected by the D0 detector at a pp center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The decay chain of KK particles can lead to a final state with two muons of the same charge. Abstract
Cognitive changes are reported infrequently in programs targeting cardiovascular risk. We examined self-efficacy, behavioral barriers and health beliefs in a lifestyle program for drug-treated hypertensives that aimed to reduce blood pressure, antihypertensive drug needs and cardiovascular risk. In a randomized controlled trial, we compared usual care (controls) and a 4-month program focusing on weight loss, diet and exercise. Outcomes were assessed at baseline, 4 months and 1-year follow-up. Of 241 individuals randomized, 102/123 in the program and 90/118 of controls completed follow-up. In the program group, dietary barriers fell by 14% at 4 months (controls 2%, P = 0.025) and by 8% at follow-up (controls 3%, P = 0.010). Exercise barriers fell by 11% at 4 months (controls 3%, P = 0.020) and 17% (controls 4%, P = 0.002) at follow-up. Dietary self-efficacy improved by 3% at 4 months (controls -1%, P = 0.003) and by 2% at follow-up (controls -1%, P = 0.051). Exercise self-efficacy increased by 8% at 4 months (controls 3%, P < 0.001) and by 5% at follow-up (controls 3%, P = 0.130). Changes in cognitive variables predicted changes in health-related behaviors at 4 months and follow-up. A cognitively based lifestyle program in treated hypertensives is associated with improvements in cognitive measures in the shorter and longer term.
