Abstract
Subjecting a physical system to extreme conditions is one of the means often used to obtain a better understanding and deeper insight into its organization and structure. In the case of the atomic nucleus, one such approach is to investigate isotopes that have very different neutron-to-proton (N/Z) ratios than in stable nuclei. Light, neutron-rich isotopes exhibit the most asymmetric N/Z ratios and those lying beyond the limits of binding, which undergo spontaneous neutron emission and exist only as very short-lived resonances (about 10-21 s), provide the most stringent tests of modern nuclear-structure theories. Here we report on the first observation of 28O and 27O through their decay into 24O and four and three neutrons, respectively. The 28O nucleus is of particular interest as, with the Z = 8 and N = 20 magic numbers1,2, it is expected in the standard shell-model picture of nuclear structure to be one of a relatively small number of so-called 'doubly magic' nuclei. Both 27O and 28O were found to exist as narrow, low-lying resonances and their decay energies are compared here to the results of sophisticated theoretical modelling, including a large-scale shell-model calculation and a newly developed statistical approach. In both cases, the underlying nuclear interactions were derived from effective field theories of quantum chromodynamics. Finally, it is shown that the cross-section for the production of 28O from a 29F beam is consistent with it not exhibiting a closed N = 20 shell structure.

Measurement of Direct-Photon Cross Section and Double-Helicity Asymmetry at sqrt[s]=510 GeV in p[over →]+p[over →] Collisions. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2023; 130:251901. Abstract
We present measurements of the cross section and double-helicity asymmetry A_{LL} of direct-photon production in p[over →]+p[over →] collisions at sqrt[s]=510 GeV. The measurements have been performed at midrapidity (|η|<0.25) with the PHENIX detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. At relativistic energies, direct photons are dominantly produced from the initial quark-gluon hard scattering and do not interact via the strong force at leading order. Therefore, at sqrt[s]=510 GeV, where leading-order-effects dominate, these measurements provide clean and direct access to the gluon helicity in the polarized proton in the gluon-momentum-fraction range 0.02<x<0.08, with direct sensitivity to the sign of the gluon contribution.

Development of Rat Caries-Induced Pulpitis Model for Vital Pulp Therapy. J Dent Res 2023; 102:574-582. Abstract
Rodent animal models for vital pulp therapy are commonly used in dental research because their tooth anatomy and cellular processes are similar to the anatomy and processes in humans. However, most studies have been conducted using uninfected sound teeth, which makes it difficult to adequately assess the inflammatory shift after vital pulp therapy. In the present study, we aimed to establish a caries-induced pulpitis model based on the conventional rat caries model and then evaluate inflammatory changes during the wound-healing process after pulp capping in a model of reversible pulpitis induced by carious infection. To establish the caries-induced pulpitis model, the pulpal inflammatory status was investigated at different stages of caries progression by immunostaining targeted to specific inflammatory biomarkers. Immunohistochemical staining revealed that both Toll-like receptor 2 and proliferating cell nuclear antigen were expressed in moderate and severe caries-stimulated pulp, indicating that an immune reaction occurred at both stages of caries progression. M2 macrophages were predominant in moderate caries-stimulated pulp, whereas M1 macrophages were predominant in the severe caries-stimulated pulp. Pulp capping in teeth with moderate caries (i.e., teeth with reversible pulpitis) led to complete tertiary dentin formation within 28 d after treatment. Impaired wound healing was observed in teeth with severe caries (i.e., teeth with irreversible pulpitis). During the wound-healing process in reversible pulpitis after pulp capping, M2 macrophages were predominant at all time points; their proliferative capacity was upregulated in the early stage of wound healing compared with healthy pulp. In conclusion, we successfully established a caries-induced pulpitis model for studies of vital pulp therapy. M2 macrophages have an important role in the early stages of the wound-healing process in reversible pulpitis.

OP0112 THE EVER-LARGEST ASIAN GWAS FOR SYSTEMIC SCLEROSIS AND TRANS-POPULATION META-ANALYSIS IDENTIFIED SEVEN NOVEL LOCI AND A CANDIDATE CAUSAL SNP IN A CIS-REGULATORY ELEMENT OF THE FCGR REGION. Abstract
BackgroundGenome-wide association studies (GWASs) have identified 29 disease-associated single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) for systemic sclerosis (SSc) in non-human leukocyte antigen (HLA) regions (1-7). While these GWASs have clarified genetic architectures of SSc, study subjects were mainly Caucasians limiting application of the findings to Asians.ObjectivesThe study was conducted to identify novel causal variants for SSc specific to Japanese subjects as well as those shared with European population. We also aimed to clarify mechanistic effects of the variants on pathogenesis of SSc.MethodsA total of 114,108 subjects comprising 1,499 cases and 112,609 controls were enrolled in the two-staged study leading to the ever-largest Asian GWAS for SSc. After applying a strict quality control both for genotype and samples, imputation was conducted using the reference panel of the phase 3v5 1,000 genome project data combined with a high-depth whole-genome sequence data of 3,256 Japanese subjects. We conducted logistic regression analyses and also combined the Japanese GWAS results with those of Europeans (6) by an inverse-variance fixed-effect model. Polygenicity and enrichment of functional annotations were evaluated by linkage disequilibrium score regression (LDSC), Haploreg and IMPACT programs. We also constructed polygenic risk score (PRS) to predict SSc development.ResultsWe identified three (FCRLA-FCGR, TNFAIP3, PLD4) and four (EOMES, ESR1, SLC12A5, TPI1P2) novel loci in Japanese GWAS and a trans-population meta-analysis, respectively. One of Japanese novel risk SNPs, rs6697139, located within FCGR gene clusters had a strong effect size (OR 2.05, P=4.9×10-11). We also found the complete LD variant, rs10917688, was positioned in cis-regulatory element and binding motif for an immunomodulatory transcription factor IRF8 in B cells, another genome-wide significant locus in our trans-ethnic meta-analysis and the previous European GWAS. Notably, the association of risk allele of rs10917688 was significant only in the presence of the risk allele of the IRF8. Intriguingly, rs10917688 was annotated as one enhancer-related histone marks, H3K4me1, in B cells, implying that FCGR gene(s) in B cells may play an important role in the pathogenesis of SSc. Furhtermore, significant heritability enrichment of active histone marks and a transcription factor C-Myc were found in B cells both in European and Japanese populations by LDSC and IMPACT, highlighting a possibility of a shared disease mechanism where abnormal B-cell activation may be one of the key drivers for the disease development. Finally, PRS using effects sizes of European GWAS moderately fit in the development of Japanese SSc (AUC 0.593), paving a path to personalized medicine for SSc.ConclusionOur study identified seven novel susceptibility loci in SSc. Downstream analyses highlighted a novel disease mechanism of SSc where an interactive role of FCGR gene(s) and IRF8 may accelerate the disease development and B cells may play a key role on the pathogenesis of SSc.References[1]F. Type of funding sources: None.
Background
Previous studies have shown that von Willebrand factor (VWF) increases, and a disintegrin-like and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin type-1 motifs 13 (ADAMTS13) decreases in myocardial infarction. Few studies have examined the involvement of the VWF-ADAMTS13 axis in ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients with atrial fibrillation (AF).
Purpose
Our aim was to investigate VWF-ADAMTS13 axis involvement in atrial fibrillation in STEMI.
Methods
The subjects of this study were participants in an observational study for investigating the difference in the pathology of thrombus retrieved from infarct-related artery between AF and sinus rhythm (SR). From June 2019 to August 2020, patients who underwent thrombus aspiration for STEMI at our hospital. Only subjects whose thrombus could be confirmed were enrolled. They were divided into two groups, the AF group, and the SR group. Serum biomarkers, including ADAMTS13 activity, and VWF were evaluated.
Results
34 patients with STEMI who were able to aspirate thrombus were enrolled in the study. They were divided into two groups: 6 patients with AF (AF group, mean age 72.5 years, 100% male) and 28 patients with SR (SR group, mean age 63.0 years, 100% male). ADAMTS13 activity was significantly lower in AF group than SR group (AF: 0.63 ± 0.14 vs. SR: 0.77 ± 0.13 U / mL, p = 0.037). There was no significant difference in VWF antigen between the two groups (AF: 251 ± 56 vs. SR: 204 ± 69%, p = 0.170). VWF/ADAMTS13 activity in AF group were significantly higher than in SR group.
Conclusion
Our study suggests an association between the VWF-ADAMTS13 axis and atrial fibrillation in STEMI. Abstract Table. Comparison of serum biomarkers

Probing Gluon Spin-Momentum Correlations in Transversely Polarized Protons through Midrapidity Isolated Direct Photons in p^{↑}+p Collisions at sqrt[s]=200 GeV. Abstract
Studying spin-momentum correlations in hadronic collisions offers a glimpse into a three-dimensional picture of proton structure. The transverse single-spin asymmetry for midrapidity isolated direct photons in p^{↑}+p collisions at sqrt[s]=200 GeV is measured with the PHENIX detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). Because direct photons in particular are produced from the hard scattering and do not interact via the strong force, this measurement is a clean probe of initial-state spin-momentum correlations inside the proton and is in particular sensitive to gluon interference effects within the proton. This is the first time direct photons have been used as a probe of spin-momentum correlations at RHIC. The uncertainties on the results are a 50-fold improvement with respect to those of the one prior measurement for the same observable, from the Fermilab E704 experiment. These results constrain gluon spin-momentum correlations in transversely polarized protons.

Abstract
Background This study investigated the causes of dental implant removal due to complications, and examined whether patients who had dental implant removal desired re-implant prosthesis treatments.
Material and Methods A retrospective case–control study was conducted on patients who had their dental implants removed. We investigated whether the removed dental implant was replaced with other implant prostheses. Age, sex, diabetes, smoking, implant site distribution, reason for implant removal, and blade and root-form implants were categorized as predictive variables. The outcome variable was desire for re-implantation or use of other prosthetic methods after implant removal. A logistic regression model was created to identify patient factors that could predict the re-implantation of dental prostheses after implant removal.
Results A total of 215 dental implants were removed from 143 patients. The most common reason for implant removal was peri-implantitis that was identified in 165 implants. After implant removal, re-implantation was performed in 98 implants (45.6%). Bivariate analyses showed that age, diabetes, implant type, and reason for implant removal were associated with the desire for re-implanted prostheses. The multiple regression model revealed that age, implant type, and reason for implant removal were associated with an increased desire for re-implant prostheses after implant removal.
Conclusions Re-implantation of prostheses after the removal of dental implants was desired by patients who were younger, had implants placed in the root form, and had implants removed due to prosthetic-related complications. Key words:Dental implant removal, complications, implant prosthesis, retrospective study, re-implantation.

Abstract
Low-temperature reaction of A-site-ordered layered perovskite Eu2SrFe2O7 (T structure) with CaH2 induces a shift in the Eu2O2 slabs to form Eu2SrFe2O6 with a T' structure (I4/mmm space group) in which only the Fe cation is reduced. Contrary to the previously reported T' structures with Jahn-Teller-active d9 cations (Cu2+ and Ni+), stabilization of Eu2SrFe2O6 with the Fe2+ (d6) cation reflects the stability of the FeO4 square-planar unit. The stability of T'-type Eu2SrFe2O6 over a T-type polymorph is confirmed by density functional theory calculations, revealing the dz2 occupancy for the T' structure. Eu2SrFe2O6 has a bilayer magnetic framework with an Fe-O-Fe superexchange J∥ and an Fe-Fe direct exchange J⊥ (where J∥ > J⊥), which broadly explains the observed TN of 390-404 K. Interestingly, the magnetic moments of Eu2SrFe2O6 lie in the ab plane, in contrast to the structurally similar Sr3Fe2O4Cl2 having an out-of-plane spin alignment.

FRI0102 SERUM TNFΑ LEVELS AT 24 HOURS AFTER FIRST ADMINISTRATION OF CERTOLIZUMAB PEGOL PREDICT EFFECTIVENESS AT WEEK 12 IN PATIENTS WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS FROM TSUBAME STUDY (UMIN ID:0002381). Abstract
Background:To increase the remission rate of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), it is necessary to determine the efficacy of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitor as early as possible. Moreover, the response to certolizumab pegol (CZP) at 12 weeks has been reported to predict its long-term efficacy. Objectives:As part of a prospective single-center observational study (TSUBAME study), we prospectively enrolled patients to be treated with CZP in our institution to evaluate its effectiveness and safety starting at 24 hours after the first dose in clinical settings, while recording blood CZP concentrations and biomarkers over time to examine their correlation with clinical effects. Methods:One hundred patients with RA and inadequate response to MTX who received CZP were enrolled in the TSUBAME study. The changes in serum TNFα, IL-6, and CZP levels at 24 hours after first administration of CZP were measured, and the correlation between serum biomarkers and clinical response was determined. Results:At 24 hours after CZP initiation, significant improvement was observed in the disease activity (baseline and 24 h: 5.4 ± 1.3, 5.0 ± 1.3, respectively, p < 0.01), which was maintained until week 12. (baseline and 12 w: 5.4 ± 1.3, 3.3 ± 1.4, respectively, p < 0.01). Serum TNFα and IL-6 levels significantly decreased at 24 hours after first administration of CZP compared to baseline. No correlation was found between TNFα and IL-6 levels at baseline and the clinical response. According to univariate analysis, low serum TNFα and IL-6 levels and high CZP levels at 24 hours were associated with DAS28 (ESR) remission at 12 weeks. According to multivariate analysis, low serum TNFα levels at 24 hours were significantly associated with DAS28 (ESR) remission at 12 weeks (OR 0.05, 95%CI 0.01, 0.75, p = 0.03). Based on these findings, an ROC curve was created using remission according to the DAS28 (ESR) at week 12 as a dependent variable and TNFα concentration at 24 hours as an independent variable, resulting in a cut-off value of 0.76 pg/ml. From this result, the TNFα concentration at 24 hours was divided into 2 groups according to this cut-off, and the rates of remission according to the DAS28 (ESR) at week 12 were compared. In the group with TNFα concentration at 24 hours below the cut-off value, the rate of remission according to the DAS28 (ESR) at week 12 was significantly higher than in the group with TNFα concentration at 24 hours above the cut-off value (below the cut-off: above the cut-off = 56.3%: 21.6%, p < 0.001). Between the group that achieved remission according to the DAS28(ESR) and the group that did not achieve remission at week 12, there was almost no difference in the distribution of TNFα concentrations at baseline; however, the distribution of TNFα concentrations at 24 hours was lower in the group that achieved remission. Conclusion:CZP was effective where serum TNFα was strongly neutralized within 24 hours. These results suggest that low serum TNFα levels at 24 hours after first administration of CZP may predict the effectiveness of CZP. To increase the remission rate in RA, it is necessary to determine the effectiveness of the molecular targeted drugs used at an early point, in addition to how rapid the onset of action is. CZP is extremely fast-acting, and its effectiveness can be predicted as early as 24 hours after the first dose, suggesting that it may be possible to determine the effectiveness early.Acknowledgments:The authors thank Ms. M. Extending the Southern Shore of the Island of Inversion to ^{28}F. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2020; 124:152502. Abstract
Detailed spectroscopy of the neutron-unbound nucleus ^{28}F has been performed for the first time following proton/neutron removal from ^{29}Ne/^{29}F beams at energies around 230 MeV/nucleon. The invariant-mass spectra were reconstructed for both the ^{27}F^{(*)}+n and ^{26}F^{(*)}+2n coincidences and revealed a series of well-defined resonances. A near-threshold state was observed in both reactions and is identified as the ^{28}F ground state, with S_{n}(^{28}F)=-199(6) keV, while analysis of the 2n decay channel allowed a considerably improved S_{n}(^{27}F)=1620(60) keV to be deduced. Comparison with shell-model predictions and eikonal-model reaction calculations have allowed spin-parity assignments to be proposed for some of the lower-lying levels of ^{28}F. Importantly, in the case of the ground state, the reconstructed ^{27}F+n momentum distribution following neutron removal from ^{29}F indicates that it arises mainly from the 1p_{3/2} neutron intruder configuration. This demonstrates that the island of inversion around N=20 includes ^{28}F, and most probably ^{29}F, and suggests that ^{28}O is not doubly magic.

P10 A possible link between sarcopenia and major bleeding risk among patients with atrial fibrillation treated with oral anticoagulation undergoing coronary stenting. Eur Heart J 2020. Abstract
Abstract
Background/Introduction
In patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with stent implantation, oral anticoagulation (OAC) plus dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) increases the risk of bleeding. The PRECISE-DAPT (P-DAPT) and DAPT scores were created to predict increased bleeding versus ischemic risk in patients undergoing DAPT. However, not much information is available on predicting bleeding risk associated with OAC concomitant with DAPT in patients with AF treated with coronary stents. Physical frailty or sarcopenia is considered an emerging predictor for bleeding in AF patients.
Purpose
To investigate the relationship between skeletal muscle mass and major bleeding risk in AF patients undergoing PCI and subsequent OAC and DAPT.
Methods
A total of 1,234 consecutive patients after PCI using newer-generation drug eluting stents were evaluated. An anti-thrombotic regimen without OAC was given to 1,077 patients, whereas OAC was required in 157 patients (12.7%) including AF (n = 96). The P-DAPT, DAPT, and HAS-BLED scores were calculated for each of the patients. Any out-of-hospital major bleeding events were identified based on BARC criteria during a median follow-up of 2.9 years. The fat-free mass index (FFMI; kg/m2) was calculated to evaluate skeletal muscle mass as follows: (7.38 + 0.02908 × urinary creatinine (mg/day)) / (height squared (m2)). A Cox proportional hazards model was used to test the significance of the FFMI and these risk scores as predictors of major bleeding, defined as BARC 3 or 5 events in AF patients. The receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) analyses were used to examine the predictive ability of the FFMI and these scores to identify patients with major bleeding events.
Results
Major bleeding events were observed in 9 (9.3%) patients. Major bleeding was associated with a lower FFMI (hazard ratio [HR] 0.53; 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.36-0.79; p = 0.002), and higher P-DAPT score (HR, 1.07; 95% CI, 1.02-1.11; p = 0.003), but not with the DAPT (HR, 0.71; 95% CI, 0.45-1.12; p = 0.147) and the HAS-BLED score (HR, 1.00; 95% CI, 0.48-2.09; p = 0.990). In the non-OAC cohort, major bleeding was related to a higher P-DAPT score (HR, 1.05; 95% CI, 1.02-1.07; p < 0.0001), but the FFMI (HR, 0.89; 95% CI, 0.73-1.09; p = 0.265) and the DAPT score were not correlated. C-statistics for major bleeding events were 0.82 (95% CI, 0.71-0.93, p = 0.001) for the FFMI and 0.79 (95% CI, 0.68-0.90, p = 0.004) for the P-DAPT score.
Conclusions
Assessment of the FFMI for screening sarcopenia is useful to predict major bleedings specifically in patients with AF undergoing coronary stenting. Both the FFMI and P-DAPT could successfully predict major bleedings in AF patients after PCI. Whether novel bleeding risk scores combined with measuring body composition adequately identify high risk patients needs to be validated.

Abstract
The isotopic production cross sections for the reactions of 136Xe induced by proton, deuteron and carbon at 168 MeV/u were obtained by using the inverse kinematics technique at RIKEN Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory. The target dependence of the cross sections was investigated systematically. It was found that for the light-mass products, the cross sections on carbon are larger than those on deuteron and proton. The measured cross sections on proton were compared with the previous data at higher reaction energies to study the energy dependence. The experimental results were compared with the theoretical calculations including both the intranuclear cascade and evaporation processes using PHITS and with the EPAX and SPACS empirical parameterizations.

Abstract
We report on the nuclear dependence of transverse single-spin asymmetries (TSSAs) in the production of positively charged hadrons in polarized p^{↑}+p, p^{↑}+Al, and p^{↑}+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV. The measurements have been performed at forward rapidity (1.4<η<2.4) over the range of transverse momentum (1.8<p_{T}<7.0 GeV/c) and Feynman x (0.1<x_{F}<0.2). We observed positive asymmetries for positively charged hadrons in p^{↑}+p collisions, and significantly reduced asymmetries in p^{↑}+A collisions. These results reveal a nuclear dependence of TSSAs for charged-hadron production in a regime where perturbative techniques are applicable. These results provide new opportunities to use p^{↑}+A collisions as a tool to investigate the rich phenomena behind TSSAs in hadronic collisions and to use TSSAs as a new handle in studying small-system collisions.

Abstract
The PHENIX collaboration presents first measurements of low-momentum (0.4<p_{T}<3 GeV/c) direct-photon yields from Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=39 and 62.4 GeV. For both beam energies the direct-photon yields are substantially enhanced with respect to expectations from prompt processes, similar to the yields observed in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200. Analyzing the photon yield as a function of the experimental observable dN_{ch}/dη reveals that the low-momentum (>1 GeV/c) direct-photon yield dN_{γ}^{dir}/dη is a smooth function of dN_{ch}/dη and can be well described as proportional to (dN_{ch}/dη)^{α} with α≈1.25. This scaling behavior holds for a wide range of beam energies at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider and the Large Hadron Collider, for centrality selected samples, as well as for different A+A collision systems. At a given beam energy, the scaling also holds for high p_{T} (>5 GeV/c), but when results from different collision energies are compared, an additional sqrt[s_{NN}]-dependent multiplicative factor is needed to describe the integrated-direct-photon yield.

Clinical and experimental studies of intraperitoneal lipolysis and the development of clinically relevant pancreatic fistula after pancreatic surgery. Br J Surg 2019; 106:616-625. Abstract
Abstract
Background
Visceral obesity is one of the risk factors for clinically relevant pancreatic fistula after pancreatic resection. The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of intraperitoneal lipolysis on postoperative pancreatic fistula.
Methods
The degree of intraperitoneal lipolysis was investigated by measuring the free fatty acid concentration in drain discharge in patients after pancreatic resection. An experimental pancreatic fistula model was prepared by pancreatic transection, and the impact of intraperitoneal lipolysis was evaluated by intraperitoneal administration of triolein (triglyceride) with, or without orlistat (lipase inhibitor).
Results
Thirty-three patients were included in the analysis. The free fatty acid concentration in drain discharge on postoperative day 1 was significantly associated with the development of a clinically relevant pancreatic fistula (P = 0·004). A higher free fatty acid concentration in drain discharge was associated with more visceral adipose tissue (P = 0·009). In the experimental model that included 98 rats, intraperitoneal lipolysis caused an increased amount of pancreatic juice leakage and multiple organ dysfunction. Intraperitoneal administration of a lipase inhibitor reduced lipolysis and prevented deterioration of the fistula.
Conclusion
Intraperitoneal lipolysis significantly exacerbates pancreatic fistula after pancreatic resection. Inhibition of lipolysis by intraperitoneal administration of a lipase inhibitor could be a promising therapy to reduce clinically relevant postoperative pancreatic fistula.

Abstract
Asymmetric nuclear collisions of p+Al, p+Au, d+Au, and ^{3}He+Au at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV provide an excellent laboratory for understanding particle production, as well as exploring interactions among these particles after their initial creation in the collision. We present measurements of charged hadron production dN_{ch}/dη in all such collision systems over a broad pseudorapidity range and as a function of collision multiplicity. A simple wounded quark model is remarkably successful at describing the full data set. We also measure the elliptic flow v_{2} over a similarly broad pseudorapidity range. These measurements provide key constraints on models of particle emission and their translation into flow.

Abstract
Objective We examined the efficacy and safety of rituximab in patients with refractory systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods The study enrolled 63 SLE patients who were treated with rituximab between 2002 and 2015. The participants underwent a battery of tests before treatment and at one year. Treatment ranged from two to four times at 500 or 1000 mg. Results Baseline characteristics were males:females = 6:57, age 33.9 years, and disease duration 87.2 months. The primary endpoint: The rate of major clinical response (MCR) was 60% while the partial clinical response (PCR) was 25%. Thirty of 36 (83%) patients with lupus nephritis (WHO II: 2, III: 5, IV: 22, V: 4, IV+V: 2, not assessed: 1) and 22 of 24 patients (92%) with neuropsychiatric SLE, who could be followed at one year, showed changes from BILAG A or B score to C or D score at one year. Multivariate analysis identified high anti-dsDNA antibody and shorter disease duration as significant determinants of MCR at one year. Repeat examination was conducted at five years. Primary failure was recorded in 8.8% and secondary failure in 32.4% (time to relapse: 24.4 months). Rituximab was well tolerated although 65 adverse events, mostly infections, were recorded within one year. Conclusion Rituximab is potentially efficacious for the treatment of patients with refractory SLE.

Abstract
It has been reported that T helper 17 cells are involved in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus, but there is no report on interleukin-17-targeted therapy. We report a case of a 62-year-old female who presented with psoriasis vulgaris and refractory lupus nephritis. Because her conditions were resistant to conventional treatment, and flow cytometry confirmed the proliferation of activated T helper 17 cells in peripheral blood, and examination of a renal biopsy tissue sample confirmed infiltration of numerous interleukin-17-positive lymphocytes to the renal interstitium, administration of the anti-interleukin-17A antibody secukinumab was initiated. After starting secukinumab the clinical and biological features were improved.

Abstract
Recently, multiparticle-correlation measurements of relativistic p/d/^{3}He+Au, p+Pb, and even p+p collisions show surprising collective signatures. Here, we present beam-energy-scan measurements of two-, four-, and six-particle angular correlations in d+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200, 62.4, 39, and 19.6 GeV. We also present measurements of two- and four-particle angular correlations in p+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV. We find the four-particle cumulant to be real valued for d+Au collisions at all four energies. We also find that the four-particle cumulant in p+Au has the opposite sign as that in d+Au. Further, we find that the six-particle cumulant agrees with the four-particle cumulant in d+Au collisions at 200 GeV, indicating that nonflow effects are subdominant. These observations provide strong evidence that the correlations originate from the initial geometric configuration, which is then translated into the momentum distribution for all particles, commonly referred to as collectivity.

Nuclear Dependence of the Transverse-Single-Spin Asymmetry for Forward Neutron Production in Polarized p+A Collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2018; 120:022001. Abstract
During 2015, the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) provided collisions of transversely polarized protons with Au and Al nuclei for the first time, enabling the exploration of transverse-single-spin asymmetries with heavy nuclei. Large single-spin asymmetries in very forward neutron production have been previously observed in transversely polarized p+p collisions at RHIC, and the existing theoretical framework that was successful in describing the single-spin asymmetry in p+p collisions predicts only a moderate atomic-mass-number (A) dependence. In contrast, the asymmetries observed at RHIC in p+A collisions showed a surprisingly strong A dependence in inclusive forward neutron production. The observed asymmetry in p+Al collisions is much smaller, while the asymmetry in p+Au collisions is a factor of 3 larger in absolute value and of opposite sign. The interplay of different neutron production mechanisms is discussed as a possible explanation of the observed A dependence.

Role of Multichance Fission in the Description of Fission-Fragment Mass Distributions at High Energies. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2017; 119:222501. Abstract
Fission-fragment mass distributions were measured for ^{237-240}U, ^{239-242}Np, and ^{241-244}Pu populated in the excitation-energy range from 10 to 60 MeV by multinucleon transfer channels in the reaction ^{18}O+^{238}U at the Japan Atomic Energy Agency tandem facility. Among them, the data for ^{240}U and ^{240,241,242}Np were observed for the first time. It was found that the mass distributions for all the studied nuclides maintain a double-humped shape up to the highest measured energy in contrast to expectations of predominantly symmetric fission due to the washing out of nuclear shell effects. From a comparison with the dynamical calculation based on the fluctuation-dissipation model, this behavior of the mass distributions was unambiguously attributed to the effect of multichance fission.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hyperuricemia is a common adverse event frequently found in renal transplant recipients with mizoribine (MZ). Hyperuricemia itself will be a cause of renal dysfunction, and renal dysfunction also will be a cause of hyperuricemia simultaneously. This study investigates frequency of hyperuricemia and renal failure in renal transplant recipients treated with high-dose MZ. PATIENTS AND METHODS From December 2007 to October 2015, there was a total of 32 living related renal transplant recipients treated with high-dose MZ. Of the 32 patients, 28 were treated with urate-lowering medications. RESULTS One patient received allopurinol (AP) and 13 patients received benzbromarone (BB). For 6 of them, their urate-lowering medications were converted to febuxostat (FX) form AP or BB. In the remaining 14 patients, FX was administered from the beginning. In 2 cases of ABO-incompatible living related renal transplant recipients who were maintained with high-dose MZ and BB, severe hyperuricemia and acute renal failure occurred. One patient was a 48-year-old man, and his creatinine (Cr) level increased to 8.14 mg/dL and his serum uric acid (UA) was 24.6 mg/dL. Another patient was a 57-year-old man, and his Cr level increased to 3.59 mg/dL and his UA was 13.2 mg/dL. In both cases Cr and UA were improved, and no finding of acute rejection and drug toxicity was observed in graft biopsy specimens. BB was switched to FX and discontinuance or reduction of MZ was done. CONCLUSION Combination of MZ and BB has the risk of acute renal dysfunction after renal transplantation. Latent renal dysfunction should be watched for in renal transplant recipients receiving high-dose MZ.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Hypophosphatasia is a rare inherited skeletal disorder characterized by defective bone mineralization and deficiency of tissue non-specific alkaline phosphatase (TNSALP) activity. The disease is caused by mutations in the liver/bone/kidney alkaline phosphatase gene (ALPL) encoding TNSALP. Early exfoliation of primary teeth owing to disturbed cementum formation, periodontal ligament weakness and alveolar bone resorption are major complications encountered in oral findings, and discovery of early loss of primary teeth in a dental examination often leads to early diagnosis of hypophosphatasia. Although there are no known fundamental treatments or effective dental approaches to prevent early exfoliation of primary teeth in affected patients, several possible treatments have recently been described, including gene therapy. Gene therapy has also been applied to TNSALP knockout mice (Alpl-/- ), which phenocopy the infantile form of hypophosphatasia, and improved their systemic condition. In the present study, we investigated whether gene therapy improved the dental condition of Alpl-/- mice. MATERIAL AND METHODS Following sublethal irradiation (4 Gy) at the age of 2 d, Alpl-/- mice underwent gene therapy using bone marrow cells transduced with a lentiviral vector expressing a bone-targeted form of TNSALP injected into the jugular vein (n = 3). Wild-type (Alpl+/+ ), heterozygous mice (Alpl+/- ) and Alpl-/- mice were analyzed at 9 d of age (n = 3 of each), while Alpl+/+ mice and treated or untreated Alpl-/- mice were analyzed at 1 mo of age (n = 3 of each), and Alpl+/- mice and Alpl-/- mice with gene therapy were analyzed at 3 mo of age (n = 3 of each). A single mandibular hemi-section obtained at 1 mo of age was analyzed using a small animal computed tomography machine to assess alveolar bone formation. Other mandibular hemi-sections obtained at 9 d, 1 mo and 3 mo of age were subjected to hematoxylin and eosin staining and immunohistochemical analysis of osteopontin, a marker of cementum. RESULTS Immunohistochemical analysis of osteopontin, a marker of acellular cementum, revealed that Alpl-/- mice displayed impaired formation of cementum and alveolar bone, similar to the human dental phenotype. Cementum formation was clearly present in Alpl-/- mice that underwent gene therapy, but did not recover to the same level as that in wild-type (Alpl+/+ ) mice. Micro-computed tomography examination showed that gene therapy improved alveolar bone mineral density in Alpl-/- mice to a similar level to that in Alpl+/+ mice. CONCLUSIONS Our results suggest that gene therapy can improve the general condition of Alpl-/- mice, and induce significant alveolar bone formation and moderate improvement of cementum formation, which may contribute to inhibition of early spontaneous tooth exfoliation.
