A case of isolated cutaneous Rosai-Dorfman-Syndrome

Rosai-Dorfman Syndrome (RDD) is a rare, benign, self-limiting disorder which is characterized by the non-malignant proliferation of distinctive histiocytic cell within lymphatic system. RDD has been described as a dynamic entity in the spectrum of histiocytosis with non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis at one end and Langerhans cell histiocytosis at the other. The exact etiology of this disease is uncertain despite widespread search for infectious or immunological reasons. We present a case of purely cutaneous Rosai-Dorfman Syndrome presenting as abdominal wall swelling.

Extranodal non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in HIV

Lymphoma in acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is associated with frequent involvement of extra-nodal sites, rapid clinical progression and aggressive histology. We present a case of extra nodal non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) with probable multifocal involvement.

Duodenal diverticulum and associated pancreatitis: case report with brief review of literature

Pancreatitis in the elderly is a problem of increasing occurrence and is associated with severe complications. Periampullary diverticula (PAD) are extraluminal outpouchings of the duodenum rarely associated with pancreatitis. The presence of PAD should be excluded before diagnosing idiopathic pancreatitis, particularly in the elderly. However, when a duodenal diverticulum is found in the absence of any additional pathology, only then should the symptoms be attributed to the diverticulum. We describe a case of duodenal diverticulum presenting with pancreatitis to emphasize the importance of this commonly neglected etiology.

Pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma within a choledochal cyst; a rare cause of obstructive jaundice

Bile duct cysts are rare and of uncertain origin. Most have been reported in young females of Asian Descent. The long term complication of choledochal cysts includes malignant transformation in the epithelial lining of biliary tree. Histopathologically it is Cholangiocarcinoma in the majority of cases with poor long-term prognosis. However, Rhabdomyosarcoma associated with choledochal cyst in an adult is rarely reported before. The authors report one such case in an adult female patient who presented to us with features of obstructive jaundice.
