Abstract
FOXC1 deletion, duplication, and mutations are associated with Axenfeld-Rieger anomaly, and Dandy-Walker malformation spectrum. We describe the clinical history, physical findings, and available brain imaging studies in three fetuses, two children, and one adult with 6p25 deletions encompassing FOXC1. Various combinations of ocular and cerebellar malformations were found. In all three fetuses, necropsy including detailed microscopic assessments of the eyes and brains showed ocular anterior segment dysgenesis suggestive of Axenfeld-Rieger anomaly. Five 6p25 deletions were terminal, including two derived from inherited reciprocal translocations; the remaining 6p25 deletion was interstitial. The size and breakpoints of these deletions were characterized using comparative genomic hybridization arrays. All six deletions included FOXC1. Our data confirm that FOXC1 haploinsufficiency plays a major role in the phenotype of patients with 6p25 deletions. Histopathological features of Axenfeld-Rieger anomaly were clearly identifiable before the beginning of the third-trimester of gestation.

Abstract
AbstractWe assess the prognostic values of zygosity and chorionicity in triplet pregnancies (TP) with the assistance of microsatellites analysis. 53 consecutive TP whose prenatal care and delivery occurred in our maternity hospital were included in this prospective study. Zygosity of all sets of triplets (alive or stillbirth, after 22 weeks of gestation) was determined by PCR-amplified microsatellites markers analysis. Chorionicity was determined by placental analysis in our fetopathology referral department and validated by molecular analysis of zygosity. Placental conformations, obstetrical and neonatal outcomes of TP were studied according to their zygosity and chorionicity. Monozygotic and to a greater extent, dizygotic TP were associated with an increase in placental ischemic injuries, velamentous cord insertions, twin-twin transfusion syndromes, fetal anomalies, and perinatal mortality when compared with the trizygotic TP (p<0.05). Monochorionic and more significantly, dichorionic TP presented with the same increases as trichorionic TP (p<0.05). Thus chorionicity easily determined by ultrasound evaluation during the first trimester of the pregnancy must remain the main prognosis criterion in TP. Taking into account the rare indications of prenatal diagnosis of zygosity, it became apparent that chorionicity has a greater impact than zygosity when distinguishing high-risk groups of TP.

Abstract
A single course of antenatal corticosteroids in women at risk of preterm delivery reduces the risk of neonatal mortality and morbidity. Recent experimental and clinical studies have stated early, medium and long term consequences of single or repeated courses of antenatal corticosteroids. Betamethasone and dexamethasone are the two molecules usually used. Benefits are observed until the first 24 hours after the first injection. Single-course corticosteroids are not effective in babies born more than 7 days after initial treatment. Benefits of corticosteroids were evaluated between 22 and 35 weeks of gestation. Antenatal exposure to single-course betamethasone might result in disruption on glucose metabolism in adult offspring. Weekly courses of prenatal corticosteroids therapy are not recommended. Repeat prenatal corticosteroids given to women at continuing risk of preterm birth 7 or more days after an initial course reduced the inherent respiratory complications of prematurity and improved health outcomes of preterm infants. However, adverse outcomes have been reported concerning cognitive development. Although repeat course may have short term benefits, whether there are effects on health into childhood and beyond must await later assessment. Long term data are needed to recommend repeated courses.

Abstract
Endometriosis is defined as the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. It generally involves the peritoneum, ovaries and rectovaginal septum. Its characteristic symptoms include dysmenorrhea, pelvic pain, deep dyspareunia and infertility. It may also involve the gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract or extra abdominal sites, giving rise to a wide variety of clinical symptoms such as bloody stools, renal haemorrhage, hemoptysis and pleural effusion during menstruation. Recurrent hemorrhagic ascites secondary to endometriosis is an unusual occurrence, 41 cases have been reported since 1954. Here we report an additional case, in order to draw attention to this condition. A 28 years-old black nulligravida woman was seen for the first time in april 2000 with a chief complaint of infertility. Her past medical history was unremarkable. She had regular menses but associated with severe dysmenorrhea. She also recalled abdominal and pelvic pain for several years. She underwent an ovulation induction with gonadotrophin, which resulted in a progressive increase of pelvic pain. A first laparoscopy was performed, revealing voluminous ascites (10 I). Two years later the ascites recurred spontaneously. Ultrasound examination revealed suspect "para uterine masses". A second exploratory laparoscopy showed a voluminous bloody ascites (71), and extensive adhesions. On histologic examination all specimens (peritoneal biopsies) were compatible with endometriosis and ruled out malignancy. Treatment with Gn RH analog was performed and full remission was obtained after 6 months. One year later the ascites recurred again spontaneously, leading to a third laparoscopy in an other medical institution. Histologic examination showed endometrial stromal tissue and fibrous proliferation. Later she became pregnant after in vitro fertilization. In the first trimester of pregnancy, the pelvic ultrasound showed only a small effusion in the pouch of Douglas. Still, the ascites did not progress during pregnancy. The patient was hospitalized from 27 to 33 weeks of gestational age for threatened labor, but she finally had a normal vaginal delivery at 36 weeks of gestational age. Four months later, she had no complaint, but the pelvic ultrasound showed the recurrence of the ascites. She will have a drainage. The future treatement will consists of GnRH analog for about six months, which will be relayed by a long term progestative therapy. A diagnosis of endometriosis should always be considered in middle-age women who presents with bloody ascites. Long follow-up is advisable for patients who undergo conservative treatment because of thehigh risk of recurrence.
