Abstract
Intraoperative CT scanning is the international standard for treating midface fractures as it allows intraoperative assessment of reduction and fixation. To our knowledge, no NHS hospital in the UK has this facility yet due to the financial and logistical burden of its implementation. The aim of this study was to determine if complications including the requirement for a return to theatre (RTT) could have been predicted from the post-fixation CT scan. All treated midface fractures that had presented to a regionalised major trauma centre within two years (01 January 2020 - 31 December 2021) were identified. Those developing complications including RTT were determined. All postoperative CT scans (including those without complication or RTT) were re-analysed with the clinicians blinded to the outcomes to determine the positive predictive value (PPV) and negative predictive value (NPV) of requiring RTT to alter plate position intraoperatively based on CT scan alone. In all, there were eight episodes of unplanned return to theatre, resulting in an overall RTT rate of 8/119 (6.7%). When only analysing patients treated for orbital fractures this RTT rises to 8/40 (20%). Of those eight patients who had a postoperative CT and required RTT, this could have been predicted in 7/8 (87.5%). A total of 16/44 (36.4%) patients that did not have RTT would have additionally been recommended to have the plate position altered based on CT alone. Based upon those that had a CT, the PPV of CT alone being able to predict those requiring RTT was 40.6% and the NPV 96.2%. Our results would suggest intraoperative CT would likely have prevented eight patients requiring RTT in two years and could have improved outcomes in 16 cases. In preventing RTT as well as potentially improving the outcomes of a further 16 cases in maxillofacial surgery, the purchase of an intraoperative CT scanner could yield net savings of £75534-£114990 over two years.

Abstract
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) are adult multipotent progenitor cells that have been isolated from various tissue sources of many species, primarily mammals. Generally, these cells proliferate extensively in culture and have been shown to secrete bioactive factors that contribute to healing processes by regulating inflammation, modulating immune responses, inhibiting bacterial growth, and promoting tissue regeneration. The present study reports on the isolation and characterization of MSCs from the peripheral blood (PB) of chickens. Chicken PBMSCs were characterized based on their trilineage differentiation potential and gene and protein expression of MSC-specific cell surface markers. To determine functionality, conditioned medium (CM), which contains all bioactive factors secreted by MSCs, was collected from chicken PBMSCs, and used in in vitro antimicrobial, migration, and angiogenesis assays. Chicken PBMSC CM was found to (i) inhibit the growth of planktonic Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), and even more significantly the methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA), (ii) decrease adhesion and promote migration of fibroblasts, and (iii) support endothelial cell tube formation. Collectively, these data indicate that chicken PBMSCs secrete bioactive factors with antimicrobial and regenerative properties, and as such, provide a novel source of cell-based therapies for the poultry industry.

Aim
PAE (prostatic arterial embolisation) is a non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure used to treat symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It is used to treat patients with moderate to severe lower urinary tract symptoms including those requiring long term urinary catheter placement and intermittent self-catheterisation. The incidence of urinary tract infection is greater in this group at baseline and the risk of infection as a complication of PAE is recognised in the literature. This study aimed to compare the clinical outcomes of PAE to those of TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate), the reference standard for BPH treatment.
Method
All patients who underwent PAE between 2019 to 2021 at a single centre were included in this retrospective study. Clinical outcomes of patients were also recorded including international prostate symptom score (IPSS) and urodynamic results. These were compared to TURP results provided in the UK ROPE study.
Results
82% of patients experienced an improved IPSS after PAE, with a median reduction of 15 points, compared with a median reduction of 17 points with TURP. PAE caused a greater reduction in median prostate volume but proved to be less effective in improving urodynamic test results when compared to TURP.
Conclusion
While still clinically effective, PAE is less effective for treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms from BPH when compared to TURP.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Metastasis to retropharyngeal lymph nodes (RPLN) from oral squamous cell carcinoma is rare and associated with poor outcomes. The poor prognosis of RPLN is multifactorial and includes the clinicopathological aggressiveness of the primary disease and the late presentation. The aim of this systematic review is to assess the evidence on RPLN in patients diagnosed with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), the quality of the diagnostic modalities and the available treatment options. We aimed to analyse the overall survival of these patients diagnosed with RPLN. METHODS A systematic review was undertaken according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement guidelines. The initial literature search generated 289 articles. A total of 11 papers satisfied our criteria. Eight papers provided enough data to perform survival analysis and 3 papers compared the diagnostic modalities used in the detection of RPLN. RESULTS A total of 73 OSCC patients diagnosed with RPLN metastasis were identified. The most common primary tumour subsites included the tongue (20), buccal mucosa (15) and gingiva (11). The cumulative 5-year OS rate was 17.8% while the 2-year overall survival was 35.9%. CONCLUSION The presence of nodal metastasis is an independent prognostic factor in head and neck cancer. In this study, RPLN metastasis had a poorer prognosis (5 years overall survival is 17.8%) when compared to the survival rate of oral cancer without RPLN metastasis (5 years overall survival is 40%). There was no statistically significant difference between the overall survival in primary RPLN metastasis and recurrent RPLN disease.

Abstract
The prompt production of the charm baryon Λ_{c}^{+} and the Λ_{c}^{+}/D^{0} production ratios were measured at midrapidity with the ALICE detector in pp and p-Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV. These new measurements show a clear decrease of the Λ_{c}^{+}/D^{0} ratio with increasing transverse momentum (p_{T}) in both collision systems in the range 2<p_{T}<12 GeV/c, exhibiting similarities with the light-flavor baryon-to-meson ratios p/π and Λ/K_{S}^{0}. At low p_{T}, predictions that include additional color-reconnection mechanisms beyond the leading-color approximation, assume the existence of additional higher-mass charm-baryon states, or include hadronization via coalescence can describe the data, while predictions driven by charm-quark fragmentation processes measured in e^{+}e^{-} and e^{-}p collisions significantly underestimate the data. The results presented in this Letter provide significant evidence that the established assumption of universality (colliding-system independence) of parton-to-hadron fragmentation is not sufficient to describe charm-baryon production in hadronic collisions at LHC energies.

Introduction
Gorlin Goltz syndrome (GGS) is a rare, hereditary, AD condition with multiple BCCs, odontogenic keratocysts (Jaw cysts), calcification of falx cerebri, skeletal anomalies & a predisposition to neoplasms like medulloblastomas, fibromas and rhabdomyosarcomas.
Aim
We present a rare case of a Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) developing in a Maxillary odontogenic keratocyst in a 32-year male with GGS.
Discussion
This patient was referred to the OMFS unit with a non-healing UL3 extraction socket and exophytic growth. Initial biopsies suggested an atypical squamo-proliferative lesion, however a repeat biopsy demonstrated an invasive SCC arising from a background odontogenic keratocyst of the maxilla. He was initially reluctant to undergo a staging CT scan to avoid risks of developing further BCCs due to IR exposure. This was eventually performed as per H&N MDT recommendation & showed a T4aN0M0 SCC of the left maxilla and bilateral multiple mandibular odontogenic keratocysts. He underwent a left maxillectomy, left neck dissection & reconstruction with a DCIA free flap, but did not want his mandibular keratocysts treated at the same time. Complete tumour clearance was achieved with no involved neck nodes & he remains disease-free at 4 months postoperatively. Although for a T4 tumour he would have needed postoperative radiotherapy, in view of the GGS, no adjuvant treatment was indicated.
Conclusions
SCC developing in a maxillary OKC is exceedingly rare with only two previous cases reported in GG syndrome. This is the first reported case of a GGS patient with oral SCC undergoing a complex free flap reconstruction.

Introduction
The collection of morbidity outcomes following surgery was recommended by the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2014. They suggest a structure to stratify complications into groupings but do not include a classification this limits comparison. Our unit, a regionalised maxillofacial trauma service, introduced a standardised morbidity and error classification to be applied at M&M meetings.
Method
Prospective collection of data from March 2019 to February 2020. All patients discussed at our M&M meeting were then classified according to the Clavien-Dindo Classification (2004), assigned an error type and recommended action determined through a panel of between 5-10 consultants.
Results
301 surgical procedures were carried out with a 7% complication rate. 26 cases were discussed at M&M. The commonest error type was ‘nature of the disease’ (48%) followed by ‘error in judgement’ (37%). Clavien-Dindo Classification IIIb (intervention under GA) was the most frequent morbidity (74%)
Conclusions
Standardised national data collection of morbidity and error can be used to analyse a single institution or between institutions to improve patient care. To our knowledge, this is the first standardised classification of morbidity in maxillofacial trauma and was of educational and service benefit. However, there was discussion of the appropriateness of the classification systems to facial fractures. We would therefore recommend further development of both a morbidity classification and an error type classification specific to treatment of facial fractures so that it can be used to improve outcomes for our patients in the future.

Abstract
The event-by-event correlations between three flow amplitudes are measured for the first time in Pb-Pb collisions, using higher-order symmetric cumulants. We find that different three-harmonic correlations develop during the collective evolution of the medium when compared to correlations that exist in the initial state. These new results cannot be interpreted in terms of previous lower-order flow measurements since contributions from two-harmonic correlations are explicitly removed in the new observables. A comparison to Monte Carlo simulations provides new and independent constraints for the initial conditions and system properties of nuclear matter created in heavy-ion collisions.

Abstract
A measurement of dielectron production in proton-proton (pp) collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV, recorded with the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC, is presented in this Letter. The data set was recorded with a reduced magnetic solenoid field. This enables the investigation of a kinematic domain at low dielectron (ee) invariant mass m_{ee} and pair transverse momentum p_{T,ee} that was previously inaccessible at the LHC. The cross section for dielectron production is studied as a function of m_{ee}, p_{T,ee}, and event multiplicity dN_{ch}/dη. The expected dielectron rate from hadron decays, called hadronic cocktail, utilizes a parametrization of the measured η/π^{0} ratio in pp and proton-nucleus collisions, assuming that this ratio shows no strong dependence on collision energy at low transverse momentum. Comparison of the measured dielectron yield to the hadronic cocktail at 0.15<m_{ee}<0.6 GeV/c^{2} and for p_{T,ee}<0.4 GeV/c indicates an enhancement of soft dielectrons, reminiscent of the "anomalous" soft-photon and soft-dilepton excess in hadron-hadron collisions reported by several experiments under different experimental conditions. The enhancement factor over the hadronic cocktail amounts to 1.61±0.13(stat)±0.17(syst,data)±0.34(syst,cocktail) in the ALICE acceptance. Acceptance-corrected excess spectra in m_{ee} and p_{T,ee} are extracted and compared with calculations of dielectron production from hadronic bremsstrahlung and thermal radiation within a hadronic many-body approach.

Abstract
Background:A substantial proportion of primary care osteoarthritis (OA) consultations are associated with an X-ray request (1,2). Uncertainty exists regarding the ability of radiography to improve a clinical OA diagnosis, and the over-use of radiography may lead to inappropriate referrals due to severe radiographic features that do not correlate with patients’ symptoms. Additionally, there are cost implications of unnecessarily imaging such a prevalent disease. As evidence questions the utility of routine radiography in OA, the extent to which radiography is supported by international guidelines is unknown.Objectives:To undertake a systematic review and narrative synthesis of UK and international guideline recommendations on the role of radiography in the diagnosis of OA.Methods:A systematic search of eleven electronic databases (including EMBASE, MEDLINE CINAHL, Epistemonikos and Guideline Central) and the websites of nine professional organisations (including NICE, Royal College of Radiologists (RCR), EULAR, and the American College of Radiology (ACR)) identified the most recent evidence-based guidelines produced by professional organisations on the role of imaging in OA. Guidelines not addressing the role of radiography in the diagnosis of OA were excluded, as were non-English and spinal OA guidelines. Each title was screened by one reviewer whilst each abstract and full text underwent dual screening. A single reviewer, using a standard proforma, undertook data extraction. Each guideline was independently appraised by two reviewers using the AGREE II tool. A narrative synthesis of the nature and consistency of OA radiographic recommendations was performed.Results:18 evidence-based OA guidelines published between 1998-2019 were included. These guidelines considered OA at any joint (n=8), or at the knee (n=3), hip (n=2), hand (n=2), wrist (n=1), foot (n=1), and ankle (n=1). Seven guidelines were produced by European organisations; four guidelines were produced by EULAR. Guidelines were targeted at general practitioners (n=11), radiologists (n=7), rheumatologist (n=4) and orthopaedic surgeons (n=3). Using the AGREE II tool, the identified guidelines scored highly on rigour of development (mean score 69%) but poorly on applicability (32%). All 18 guidelines recommended X-rays as the first-line modality, where imaging was indicated. A clinical diagnosis of OA without radiographic confirmation was recommended by all eleven guidelines produced by organisations represented general practitioners, with seven guidelines justifying this due to a poor correlation between radiographic features and clinical symptoms. Only three guidelines explicitly discouraged the routine use of radiography for the diagnosis of OA and only two guidelines reassured practitioners of a low probability of missing serious pathology when not routinely requesting radiographs. Guidelines produced by organisations representing radiologists were more supportive of radiography. The ACR recommended radiographic confirmation in patients suspected to have OA at the hand, wrist, hip, knee, ankle, and foot. Conversely, the RCR recommended radiographic confirmation in patients suspected to have OA at the hand, feet, and hip, but not the knee.Conclusion:Differences in guideline recommendations on the utility of radiography in OA appear related to country/region, professional organisation, and joint. Abstract
The elliptic flow of electrons from beauty hadron decays at midrapidity (|y|<0.8) is measured in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The azimuthal distribution of the particles produced in the collisions can be parametrized with a Fourier expansion, in which the second harmonic coefficient represents the elliptic flow, v_{2}. The v_{2} coefficient of electrons from beauty hadron decays is measured for the first time in the transverse momentum (p_{T}) range 1.3-6 GeV/c in the centrality class 30%-50%. The measurement of electrons from beauty-hadron decays exploits their larger mean proper decay length cτ≈500 μm compared to that of charm hadrons and most of the other background sources. The v_{2} of electrons from beauty hadron decays at midrapidity is found to be positive with a significance of 3.75 σ. The results provide insights into the degree of thermalization of beauty quarks in the medium. A model assuming full thermalization of beauty quarks is strongly disfavored by the measurement at high p_{T}, but is in agreement with the results at low p_{T}. Transport models including substantial interactions of beauty quarks with an expanding strongly interacting medium describe the measurement within uncertainties.

Background
People with osteoarthritis (OA) have an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, including acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Despite OA being the most common joint condition and the fastest increasing major health condition, there is limited information on the management strategies and subsequent outcomes of OA patients presenting with AMI.
Purpose
To describe the association between OA and invasive management strategies (including coronary angiography (CA), percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)) and clinical outcomes.
Methods
We analysed all hospitalisations for AMI between 2004 and 2015 recorded in the National Inpatient Sample (NIS), the largest inpatient electronic health record database in the United States. The proportion of patients receiving CA, PCI, and CABG were compared between patients with and without OA, as were the proportions of in-hospital adverse events including major acute cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCE; composite of mortality, cardiac complications and acute stroke), in-hospital mortality, stroke, and major bleeding. Multivariate logistic regression modelling with adjustment for potential confounders (demographics, medical history, and comorbidities) was performed to examine associations between OA and in-hospital clinical outcomes; results are expressed as adjusted odds ratios (AdjOR) with 95% confidence intervals (95% CI).
Results
A total of 6,561,940 people were hospitalised for AMI between January 2004 and September 2015, of which 444,217 (6.8%) had a concurrent diagnosis of OA. On average, those with OA were older (median: 77 vs. 67 years), more likely to be female (55.7% vs. 38.6%), and less likely to receive CA (55.3% vs. 65.2%), PCI (33.3% vs. 43.6%), and CABG (7.4% vs. 8.5%) (Figure 1A, p<0.001 for all). After adjustment for confounders, OA was associated with a lower likelihood of receiving CA (AdjOR 0.89; 95% CI 0.87, 0.90), PCI (0.85; 0.84, 0.87), and CABG (0.92; 0.90, 0.94). With reference to outcomes, OA was associated with lower likelihood of in-hospital adverse events (MACCE: AdjOR 0.71; 95% CI 0.69, 0.72; in-hospital mortality: 0.69; 0.67, 0.71; stroke: 0.81; 0.77, 0.85; and major bleeding: 0.73; 0.70, 0.75) (Figure 1B, p<0.001 for all).
Conclusion
In a national cohort of AMI hospitalisations, patients with OA were less likely to receive invasive management compared to those without OA. However, they were also less likely to experience adverse events. Further work is required to investigate treatment disparities in this increasingly prevalent patient group when presenting with AMI.

Abstract
In this Letter, we report the first measurement of the inelastic cross section for antideuteron-nucleus interactions at low particle momenta, covering a range of 0.3≤p<4 GeV/c. The measurement is carried out using p-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon-nucleon pair of sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV, recorded with the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC and utilizing the detector material as an absorber for antideuterons and antiprotons. The extracted raw primary antiparticle-to-particle ratios are compared to the results from detailed ALICE simulations based on the geant4 toolkit for the propagation of (anti)particles through the detector material. The analysis of the raw primary (anti)proton spectra serves as a benchmark for this study, since their hadronic interaction cross sections are well constrained experimentally. The first measurement of the inelastic cross section for antideuteron-nucleus interactions averaged over the ALICE detector material with atomic mass numbers ⟨A⟩=17.4 and 31.8 is obtained. The measured inelastic cross section points to a possible excess with respect to the Glauber model parametrization used in geant4 in the lowest momentum interval of 0.3≤p<0.47 GeV/c up to a factor 2.1. This result is relevant for the understanding of antimatter propagation and the contributions to antinuclei production from cosmic ray interactions within the interstellar medium. In addition, the momentum range covered by this measurement is of particular importance to evaluate signal predictions for indirect dark-matter searches.

Abstract
This first part of a two-part study examines perceived applications for and barriers to using printed titanium in light of current caseloads, funding pathways, and use of digital planning. It aims to demonstrate the scope for printed titanium in modern practice and to guide industry about the needs of UK surgeons. A cross-sectional study over 14 weeks was performed electronically with support from the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAOMS) and a national trainee-led recruitment team. Ethics approval was obtained at the lead centre. A total of 132 participants joined the study (70% consultants, 25% specialty registrars, and 5% other), approximating a 29% response rate from consultant/registrar BAOMS members throughout mainland UK. Eighty-eight per cent used CAD-CAM design, with highly variable funding/access, design/manufacturing workflows (in-house/outsourced). Eighty-eight per cent were involved with trauma, 61% with orthognathic, and 52% with oncology-reconstruction surgery. Favourite applications for printed titanium were orbital floor repair (89%) and free-flap jaw reconstruction (87%). Most participants also cited maxillary/zygomatic osteotomies and cranioplasty (range 61%-73%). Although a popular application (78%), the evidence base in temporomandibular joint surgery is limited. Those performing orthognathic surgery perceived more indications than those who did not (p=0.013). Key barriers included cost, turnaround time and logistics, and the need to be trained in traditional techniques. Printed titanium was useful for both common and niche procedures, but was specifically limited in emergency trauma. Most surgeons had experience in CAD-CAM surgery but technical understanding appeared unclear. Limiting factors included variable funding and production pathways, perceived costs, and logistics, but in-house design can minimise them. In part II, we quantify perceived benefits and limitations and whether surgeons' understanding and knowledge are sufficient to rationalise them.

Abstract
This second part explores perceptions and understanding of clinical performance, turnaround, and costs for printed titanium implants or plates in common procedures, evaluating both 'in-house' and 'outsourced' CAD-CAM pathways. A cross-sectional study, supported by the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAOMS) and a national trainee-led recruitment team, was conducted over 14 weeks. A total of 132 participants took part (demographic data is reported in Part I). For fibular-flap mandibular reconstruction, most participants (69% - 91%) perceived printed titanium as superior to intraoperatively or preoperatively hand-bent plates for surgical duration, accuracy, dental restorability, and aesthetics. There was less agreement about complications and plate-failure risks. Most perceived printed plates to be superior to traditional wafer-based maxillary osteotomy for surgical duration (61%) and maxillary positioning (60%). For orbital floor repair, most perceived improvements in surgical duration (83%, especially higher-volume operators p=0.009), precision (84%), and ease of placement (69%). Rarely (less than 5%) was any outcome rated inferior to traditional techniques for any procedure. Perceived turnaround times and costs were variable, but the greatest consensus was for two-segment fibular-flap reconstructions and orbital floor repair. Industry estimates were generally consistent between two company representatives, but manufacturing-only costs differed when using in-house (departmental) designers. Costs and turnaround times are questionable barriers since few understand 'real-world' figures. Designing in-house can dramatically alter costs. Improved accuracy and surgical duration are common themes but biomechanical benefits are less-well understood. This study paints a picture of the potentially routine applications and benefits of printed titanium, capacity for uptake, understanding amongst surgeons, and areas for improvement.

Abstract
The first measurement at the LHC of charge-dependent directed flow (v_{1}) relative to the spectator plane is presented for Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV. Results are reported for charged hadrons and D^{0} mesons for the transverse momentum intervals p_{T}>0.2 GeV/c and 3<p_{T}<6 GeV/c in the 5%-40% and 10%-40% centrality classes, respectively. The difference between the positively and negatively charged hadron v_{1} has a positive slope as a function of pseudorapidity η, dΔv_{1}/dη=[1.68±0.49(stat)±0.41(syst)]×10^{-4}. The same measurement for D^{0} and D[over ¯]^{0} mesons yields a positive value dΔv_{1}/dη=[4.9±1.7(stat)±0.6(syst)]×10^{-1}, which is about 3 orders of magnitude larger than the one of the charged hadrons. These measurements can provide new insights into the effects of the strong electromagnetic field and the initial tilt of matter created in noncentral heavy ion collisions on the dynamics of light (u, d, and s) and heavy (c) quarks. The large difference between the observed Δv_{1} of charged hadrons and D^{0} mesons may reflect different sensitivity of the charm and light quarks to the early time dynamics of a heavy ion collision. These observations challenge some recent theoretical calculations, which predicted a negative and an order of magnitude smaller value of dΔv_{1}/dη for both light flavor and charmed hadrons.

Abstract
The first evidence of spin alignment of vector mesons (K^{*0} and ϕ) in heavy-ion collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is reported. The spin density matrix element ρ_{00} is measured at midrapidity (|y|<0.5) in Pb-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy (sqrt[s_{NN}]) of 2.76 TeV with the ALICE detector. ρ_{00} values are found to be less than 1/3 (1/3 implies no spin alignment) at low transverse momentum (p_{T}<2 GeV/c) for K^{*0} and ϕ at a level of 3σ and 2σ, respectively. No significant spin alignment is observed for the K_{S}^{0} meson (spin=0) in Pb-Pb collisions and for the vector mesons in pp collisions. The measured spin alignment is unexpectedly large but qualitatively consistent with the expectation from models which attribute it to a polarization of quarks in the presence of angular momentum in heavy-ion collisions and a subsequent hadronization by the process of recombination.

Abstract
The study of the strength and behavior of the antikaon-nucleon (K[over ¯]N) interaction constitutes one of the key focuses of the strangeness sector in low-energy quantum chromodynamics (QCD). In this Letter a unique high-precision measurement of the strong interaction between kaons and protons, close and above the kinematic threshold, is presented. The femtoscopic measurements of the correlation function at low pair-frame relative momentum of (K^{+}p⊕K^{-}p[over ¯]) and (K^{-}p⊕K^{+}p[over ¯]) pairs measured in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=5, 7, and 13 TeV are reported. A structure observed around a relative momentum of 58 MeV/c in the measured correlation function of (K^{-}p⊕K^{+}p[over ¯]) with a significance of 4.4σ constitutes the first experimental evidence for the opening of the (K[over ¯]^{0}n⊕K^{0}n[over ¯]) isospin breaking channel due to the mass difference between charged and neutral kaons. The measured correlation functions have been compared to Jülich and Kyoto models in addition to the Coulomb potential. The high-precision data at low relative momenta presented in this work prove femtoscopy to be a powerful complementary tool to scattering experiments and provide new constraints above the K[over ¯]N threshold for low-energy QCD chiral models.

Abstract
Storiform collagenoma (also called sclerotic fibroma) is uncommon, occurs as a cutaneous fibrous neoplasm, and is particularly rare in mucosal tissue in the head and neck. We describe an unexpected diagnosis in the oral cavity. Histopathological examination showed a proliferation of fibrous tissue, which was well circumscribed but unencapsulated, with thick laminated bundles of eosinophilic collagen that exhibited a storiform or "whorled" pattern. First described by Weary et al in 1972, storiform collagenoma is a marker for Cowden's disease or PTEN hamartoma tumour syndrome. Identification of other synchronous lesions should prompt chromosomal analysis for a mutation in the PTEN gene on chromosome 10q23.

Abstract
The first measurement of the ϒ(1S) elliptic flow coefficient (v_{2}) is performed at forward rapidity (2.5<y<4) in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The results are obtained with the scalar product method and are reported as a function of transverse momentum (p_{T}) up to 15 GeV/c in the 5%-60% centrality interval. The measured ϒ(1S)v_{2} is consistent with 0 and with the small positive values predicted by transport models within uncertainties. The v_{2} coefficient in 2<p_{T}<15 GeV/c is lower than that of inclusive J/ψ mesons in the same p_{T} interval by 2.6 standard deviations. These results, combined with earlier suppression measurements, are in agreement with a scenario in which the ϒ(1S) production in Pb-Pb collisions at LHC energies is dominated by dissociation limited to the early stage of the collision, whereas in the J/ψ case there is substantial experimental evidence of an additional regeneration component.

Abstract
Measurements of anisotropic flow coefficients (v_{n}) and their cross-correlations using two- and multiparticle cumulant methods are reported in collisions of pp at sqrt[s]=13 TeV, p-Pb at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV, Xe-Xe at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.44 TeV, and Pb-Pb at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV recorded with the ALICE detector. The multiplicity dependence of v_{n} is studied in a very wide range from 20 to 3000 particles produced in the midrapidity region |η|<0.8 for the transverse momentum range 0.2<p_{T}<3.0 GeV/c. An ordering of the coefficients v_{2}>v_{3}>v_{4} is found in pp and p-Pb collisions, similar to that seen in large collision systems, while a weak v_{2} multiplicity dependence is observed relative to nucleus-nucleus collisions in the same multiplicity range. Using a novel subevent method, v_{2} measured with four-particle cumulants is found to be compatible with that from six-particle cumulants in pp and p-Pb collisions. The magnitude of the correlation between v_{n}^{2} and v_{m}^{2}, evaluated with the symmetric cumulants SC(m,n) is observed to be positive at all multiplicities for v_{2} and v_{4}, while for v_{2} and v_{3} it is negative and changes sign for multiplicities below 100, which may indicate a different v_{n} fluctuation pattern in this multiplicity range. The observed long-range multiparticle azimuthal correlations in high multiplicity pp and p-Pb collisions can neither be described by pythia 8 nor by impact-parameter-Glasma, music, and ultrarelativistic quantum molecular dynamics model calculations, and hence, provide new insights into the understanding of collective effects in small collision systems.

Abstract
This Letter presents the first experimental observation of the attractive strong interaction between a proton and a multistrange baryon (hyperon) Ξ^{-}. The result is extracted from two-particle correlations of combined p-Ξ^{-}⊕p[over ¯]-Ξ[over ¯]^{+} pairs measured in p-Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV at the LHC with ALICE. The measured correlation function is compared with the prediction obtained assuming only an attractive Coulomb interaction and a standard deviation in the range [3.6, 5.3] is found. Since the measured p-Ξ^{-}⊕p[over ¯]-Ξ[over ¯]^{+} correlation is significantly enhanced with respect to the Coulomb prediction, the presence of an additional, strong, attractive interaction is evident. The data are compatible with recent lattice calculations by the HAL-QCD Collaboration, with a standard deviation in the range [1.8, 3.7]. The lattice potential predicts a shallow repulsive Ξ^{-} interaction within pure neutron matter and this implies stiffer equations of state for neutron-rich matter including hyperons. Implications of the strong interaction for the modeling of neutron stars are discussed.

Abstract
Angular correlations between heavy-flavor decay electrons and charged particles at midrapidity (|η|<0.8) are measured in p-Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV. The analysis is carried out for the 0%-20% (high) and 60%-100% (low) multiplicity ranges. The jet contribution in the correlation distribution from high-multiplicity events is removed by subtracting the distribution from low-multiplicity events. An azimuthal modulation remains after removing the jet contribution, similar to previous observations in two-particle angular correlation measurements for light-flavor hadrons. A Fourier decomposition of the modulation results in a positive second-order coefficient (v_{2}) for heavy-flavor decay electrons in the transverse momentum interval 1.5<p_{T}<4 GeV/c in high-multiplicity events, with a significance larger than 5σ. The results are compared with those of charged particles at midrapidity and those of inclusive muons at forward rapidity. The v_{2} measurement of open heavy-flavor particles at midrapidity in small collision systems could provide crucial information to help interpret the anisotropies observed in such systems.

Abstract
The azimuthal anisotropy coefficient v_{2} of prompt D^{0}, D^{+}, D^{*+}, and D_{s}^{+} mesons was measured in midcentral (30%-50% centrality class) Pb-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV, with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The D mesons were reconstructed via their hadronic decays at midrapidity, |y|<0.8, in the transverse momentum interval 1<p_{T}<24 GeV/c. The measured D-meson v_{2} has similar values as that of charged pions. The D_{s}^{+} v_{2}, measured for the first time, is found to be compatible with that of nonstrange D mesons. The measurements are compared with theoretical calculations of charm-quark transport in a hydrodynamically expanding medium and have the potential to constrain medium parameters.

Abstract
We report a precise measurement of the J/ψ elliptic flow in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The J/ψ mesons are reconstructed at midrapidity (|y|<0.9) in the dielectron decay channel and at forward rapidity (2.5<y<4.0) in the dimuon channel, both down to zero transverse momentum. At forward rapidity, the elliptic flow v_{2} of the J/ψ is studied as a function of the transverse momentum and centrality. A positive v_{2} is observed in the transverse momentum range 2<p_{T}<8 GeV/c in the three centrality classes studied and confirms with higher statistics our earlier results at sqrt[s_{NN}]=2.76 TeV in semicentral collisions. At midrapidity, the J/ψ v_{2} is investigated as a function of the transverse momentum in semicentral collisions and found to be in agreement with the measurements at forward rapidity. These results are compared to transport model calculations. The comparison supports the idea that at low p_{T} the elliptic flow of the J/ψ originates from the thermalization of charm quarks in the deconfined medium but suggests that additional mechanisms might be missing in the models.

We retrospectively audited the records of 708 patients who presented with the diagnosis of fractured mandible between January 2009 and July 2013 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. We assessed the different factors that may have altered their outcomes, and found that delay before definitive fixation caused no harm in either the short or the long term.

Abstract
The measurement of two-particle angular correlations is a powerful tool to study jet quenching in a p_{T} region inaccessible by direct jet identification. In these measurements pseudorapidity (Δη) and azimuthal (Δφ) differences are used to extract the shape of the near-side peak formed by particles associated with a higher p_{T} trigger particle (1<p_{T,trig}<8 GeV/c). A combined fit of the near-side peak and long-range correlations is applied to the data allowing the extraction of the centrality evolution of the peak shape in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=2.76 TeV. A significant broadening of the peak in the Δη direction at low p_{T} is found from peripheral to central collisions, which vanishes above 4 GeV/c, while in the Δφ direction the peak is almost independent of centrality. For the 10% most central collisions and 1<p_{T,assoc}<2 GeV/c, 1<p_{T,trig}<3 GeV/c a novel feature is observed: a depletion develops around the center of the peak. The results are compared to pp collisions at the same center of mass energy and ampt model simulations. The comparison to the investigated models suggests that the broadening and the development of the depletion is connected to the strength of radial and longitudinal flow.

Abstract
We present results on transverse momentum ([Formula: see text]) and rapidity ([Formula: see text]) differential production cross sections, mean transverse momentum and mean transverse momentum square of inclusive [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] at forward rapidity ([Formula: see text]) as well as [Formula: see text]-to-[Formula: see text] cross section ratios. These quantities are measured in pp collisions at center of mass energies [Formula: see text] and 13 TeV with the ALICE detector. Both charmonium states are reconstructed in the dimuon decay channel, using the muon spectrometer. A comprehensive comparison to inclusive charmonium cross sections measured at [Formula: see text], 7 and 8 TeV is performed. A comparison to non-relativistic quantum chromodynamics and fixed-order next-to-leading logarithm calculations, which describe prompt and non-prompt charmonium production respectively, is also presented. A good description of the data is obtained over the full [Formula: see text] range, provided that both contributions are summed. In particular, it is found that for [Formula: see text] GeV/c the non-prompt contribution reaches up to 50% of the total charmonium yield.

Abstract
The transverse momentum distributions of the strange and double-strange hyperon resonances (Σ ( 1385 ) ± , Ξ ( 1530 ) 0 ) produced in p-Pb collisions at s NN = 5.02 TeV were measured in the rapidity range - 0.5 < y CMS < 0 for event classes corresponding to different charged-particle multiplicity densities, ⟨ dN ch /dη lab ⟩ . The mean transverse momentum values are presented as a function of ⟨ dN ch /dη lab ⟩ , as well as a function of the particle masses and compared with previous results on hyperon production. The integrated yield ratios of excited to ground-state hyperons are constant as a function of ⟨ dN ch /dη lab ⟩ . The equivalent ratios to pions exhibit an increase with ⟨ dN ch /dη lab ⟩ , depending on their strangeness content.

Abstract
The invariant differential cross sections for inclusive [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] mesons at midrapidity were measured in pp collisions at [Formula: see text] TeV for transverse momenta [Formula: see text] GeV/c and [Formula: see text] GeV/c, respectively, using the ALICE detector. This large range in [Formula: see text] was achieved by combining various analysis techniques and different triggers involving the electromagnetic calorimeter (EMCal). In particular, a new single-cluster, shower-shape based method was developed for the identification of high-[Formula: see text] neutral pions, which exploits that the showers originating from their decay photons overlap in the EMCal. Above 4 GeV/[Formula: see text], the measured cross sections are found to exhibit a similar power-law behavior with an exponent of about 6.3. Next-to-leading-order perturbative QCD calculations differ from the measured cross sections by about 30% for the [Formula: see text], and between 30-50% for the [Formula: see text] meson, while generator-level simulations with PYTHIA 8.2 describe the data to better than 10-30%, except at [Formula: see text] GeV/[Formula: see text]. The new data can therefore be used to further improve the theoretical description of [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] meson production.

Abstract
We present the first measurement of the two-particle transverse momentum differential correlation function, P_{2}≡⟨Δp_{T}Δp_{T}⟩/⟨p_{T}⟩^{2}, in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=2.76 TeV. Results for P_{2} are reported as a function of the relative pseudorapidity (Δη) and azimuthal angle (Δφ) between two particles for different collision centralities. The Δϕ dependence is found to be largely independent of Δη for |Δη|≥0.9. In the 5% most central Pb-Pb collisions, the two-particle transverse momentum correlation function exhibits a clear double-hump structure around Δφ=π (i.e., on the away side), which is not observed in number correlations in the same centrality range, and thus provides an indication of the dominance of triangular flow in this collision centrality. Fourier decompositions of P_{2}, studied as a function of the collision centrality, show that correlations at |Δη|≥0.9 can be well reproduced by a flow ansatz based on the notion that measured transverse momentum correlations are strictly determined by the collective motion of the system.

Abstract
The azimuthal correlations of D mesons with charged particles were measured with the ALICE apparatus in pp collisions at [Formula: see text] and p-Pb collisions at [Formula: see text] at the Large Hadron Collider. [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], and [Formula: see text] mesons and their charge conjugates with transverse momentum [Formula: see text] and rapidity in the nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass system [Formula: see text] (pp collisions) and [Formula: see text] (p-Pb collisions) were correlated to charged particles with [Formula: see text]. The yield of charged particles in the correlation peak induced by the jet containing the D meson and the peak width are compatible within uncertainties in the two collision systems. The data are described within uncertainties by Monte-Carlo simulations based on PYTHIA, POWHEG, and EPOS 3 event generators.

Abstract
Apple is the most dominating fruit crop of Himachal Pradesh, constituting about 40 per cent of total area under fruit crops and about 90 per cent of the total fruit production. Plant tissue culture has encouraged production of quality planting material which is disease free and true to type. Due to current trends in favour of high density apple plantations and to fulfill the requirement of planting material from the farmers, commercially viable in vitro propagation method of semidwarf clonal apple rootstock Malling 7 (M7) was developed by axillary branching, initially developed from shoot tip explants. A few thousand plants were transferred to field conditions. In order to check any tissue culture induced variation in these long term micropropagated plants, the genetic fidelity was assessed using Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers. Out of the 20 primers screened, 12 generated a total of 44 scorable and distinct bands with an average of 3.7 bands per primer. All the banding patterns for each primer were highly uniform and monomorphic across in vitro multiple shoot clusters and field transplanted micropropagated plants as well as comparable to the field grown mother clone from which the cultures had been established. Our results have shown that the micropropagation protocol developed by this study is appropriate and applicable for clonal propagation of apple rootstock M7 on large scale over a long period without any risk of genetic instability.

Abstract
We hypothesized that IV Busulfan (Bu) dosing could be safely intensified through pharmacokinetic (PK-) dose guidance to minimize the inter-patient variability in systemic exposure (SE) associated with body-sized dosing, and this should improve outcome of AML/MDS patients undergoing allogeneic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). To test this hypothesis, we treated 218 patients (median age 50.7 years, male/female 50/50%) with fludarabine (Flu) 40 mg/m2 once daily ×4, each dose followed by IV Bu, randomized to 130 mg/m2 (N=107) or PK-guided to average daily SE, AUC of 6,000 µM-min (N=111), stratified for remission-status, and allo-grafting from HLA-matched donors. Toxicity and graft vs. host disease (GvHD) rates in the groups were similar; the risk of relapse or treatment-related mortality remained higher in the fixed-dose group throughout the 80-month observation period. Further, PK-guidance yielded safer disease-control, leading to improved overall and progression-free survival, most prominently in MDS-patients and in AML-patients not in remission at allo-HSCT. We conclude that AML/MDS patients receiving pretransplant conditioning treatment with our 4-day regimen may benefit significantly from PK-guided Bu-dosing. This could be considered an alternative to fixed dose delivery since it provides the benefit of precise dose delivery to a predetermined SE without increasing risk(s) of serious toxicity and/or GvHD.

Abstract
We report the measurements of correlations between event-by-event fluctuations of amplitudes of anisotropic flow harmonics in nucleus-nucleus collisions, obtained for the first time using a new analysis method based on multiparticle cumulants in mixed harmonics. This novel method is robust against systematic biases originating from nonflow effects and by construction any dependence on symmetry planes is eliminated. We demonstrate that correlations of flow harmonics exhibit a better sensitivity to medium properties than the individual flow harmonics. The new measurements are performed in Pb-Pb collisions at the center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of sqrt[s_{NN}]=2.76 TeV by the ALICE experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. The centrality dependence of correlation between event-by-event fluctuations of the elliptic v_{2} and quadrangular v_{4} flow harmonics, as well as of anticorrelation between v_{2} and triangular v_{3} flow harmonics are presented. The results cover two different regimes of the initial state configurations: geometry dominated (in midcentral collisions) and fluctuation dominated (in the most central collisions). Comparisons are made to predictions from Monte Carlo Glauber, viscous hydrodynamics, ampt, and hijing models. Together with the existing measurements of the individual flow harmonics the presented results provide further constraints on the initial conditions and the transport properties of the system produced in heavy-ion collisions.
