Abstract
Mucoadhesive microparticles for oromucosal drug delivery offer several advantages, including intimate contact with the mucosa, delivery to less accessible regions, extended residence time, sustained drug release, reduced irritation, and improved patient compliance. In this study, pullulan was used to prepare mucoadhesive spray-dried microparticles for delivering benzydamine hydrochloride (BZH) to oral mucosa. The BZH-pullulan spray-dried microparticles had a mean size of <25 μm with an angle of repose values between 25.8-36.6°. Pullulan markedly extended drug-release time to >180 min, ~9 times greater than the duration (i.e., 20 min) reportedly achieved by chitosan. Kinetic analysis showed the drug-release rate was concentration dependent and jointly controlled by drug diffusion and polymer chain relaxation. Further, pullulan was mucoadhesive and was able to retain up to 78.8% w/w of microencapsulated gold nanoparticle probes at the mucosal membrane. These data strongly suggest that BZH-pullulan microparticles have great potential for oromucosal drug delivery, by providing elongated residence time in situ and sustained drug release for the treatment of local diseases.

Abstract
Adenosine (ADO) is a common chemotherapy-associated immune checkpoint that hinders anti-tumor immunity-mediated efficacy of chemotherapy. Herein, we created a synthetic high-density lipoprotein (sHDL) by co-assembly of a doxorubicin (DOX)-apolipoprotein A1 mimetic peptide conjugate, PSB-603 (an A2BR inhibitor), phospholipid, and cholesterol oleate with a microfluidic-based method. The obtained DP-sHDL showed a self-promoted drug delivery to cancer cells via remodeling tumor microenvironment. DP-sHDL could trigger the release of ATP from cancer cells and inhibit its conversion into ADO. Consequently, DP-sHDL, while increasing immunogenic cell death, reduced intratumoral ADO levels by 58%. This treatment improved both the density and activity of CD8+ T cells as well as NK cells and relieved the immunosuppressive microenvironment, and led to a substantial inhibition of 4T1 tumor growth, thereby extending the survival of mice. The efficacy of DP-sHDL could be further improved when used in combination with immune checkpoint blockade therapy. We envision that this platform provides a simple yet promising strategy to enhance anti-tumor response of chemotherapy by relieving treatment-associated immunosuppression.

[Species and population density of malaria vector Anopheles in Sichuan Province from 2011 to 2021]. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the distribution of malaria vector Anopheles in Sichuan Province from 2011 to 2021, so as to provide the scientific evidence for improving the surveillance of malaria vector Anopheles and preventing re-establishment of imported malaria in Sichuan Province. METHODS The density and species of Anopheles mosquitoes were investigated using human-bait trapping and light trapping techniques in malaria vector surveillance sites of Sichuan Province from 2011 to 2021. The number, population and density of captured Anopheles mosquitoes were collected and descriptively analyzed, and the geographical distribution map of malaria vectors was plotted using the software ArcGIS 10.7 in Sichuan Province. RESULTS A total of 152 243 Anopheles mosquitoes were captured in malaria vector surveillance sites of Sichuan Province from 2011 to 2021, including 150 987 An. sinensis (99.18%) and 1 256 An. anthropophagus (0.82%), and no other Anopheles species were captured. The annual densities of An. sinensis and An. anthropophagus were 0.64 to 1.27 mosquitoes/(person-hour) and 0 to 0.07 mosquitoes/(person-hour) by the human-bait trapping technique, and 6.46 to 26.50 mosquitoes/(light-night) and 0 to 0.82 mosquitoes/(light-night) by the light trapping technique in malaria vector surveillance sites of Sichuan Province from 2011 to 2021. A relatively higher density of An. anthropophagus was seen in Renshou County, Jianyang City, Weiyuan County and Mabian Yi Autonomous County [> 0.40 mosquitoes/(person-hour)] by the human-bait trapping technique, and in Cuiping District and Gaoxian County in Yibin City [> 1.00 mosquito/(light-night)] by the light trapping technique in Sichuan Province from 2011 to 2018, with no An. anthropophagus captured from 2019 to 2021, and a relatively higher density of An. sinensis was detected in Emeishan City, Lushan County, Luojiang District, Tongchuan District and Zhaohua District [> 4.00 mosquitoes/(person-hour)] by the human-bait trapping technique, and in Huili County, Yuexi County, Dechang County, Langzhong City, Pingchang County and Xuanhan County [> 40.00 mosquitoes/(light-night)] by the light trapping technique in Sichuan Province from 2011 to 2021. CONCLUSIONS Malaria vectors were still widespread in Sichuan Province from 2011 to 2021, and An. sinensis was the dominant species of malaria vectors. There is still a risk of local re-establishment of imported malaria in Sichuan Province, and it is needed to continue to improve the surveillance of imported malaria cases and malaria vectors.

Abstract
Liver metastasis of colorectal cancer (CRC) is the critical cause of CRC-related death due to its unique immunosuppressive microenvironment. In this study we generated a gemcitabine-loaded synthetic high-density lipoprotein (G-sHDL) to reverse immunosuppression in livers with CRC metastases. After intravenous injection, sHDL targeted hepatic monocyte-derived alternatively activated macrophages (Mono-M2) in the livers of mice bearing both subcutaneous tumors and liver metastases. The G-sHDL preferentially eradicated Mono-M2 in the livers with CRC metastases, which consequently prevented Mono-M2-mediated killing of tumor antigen-specific CD8+ T cells in the livers and thus improved the densities of tumor antigen-specific CD8+ T cells in the blood, tumor-draining lymph nodes and subcutaneous tumors of the treated mice. While reversing the immunosuppressive microenvironment, G-sHDL also induced immunogenic cell death of cancer cells, promoted maturation of dendritic cells, and increased tumor infiltration and activity of CD8+ T cells. Collectively, G-sHDL inhibited the growth of both subcutaneous tumors and liver metastases, and prolonged the survival of animals, which could be further improved when used in conjunction with anti-PD-L1 antibody. This platform can be a generalizable platform to modulate immune microenvironment of diseased livers.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Osteoporosis can cause bone fractures and disability, but early diagnosis faces challenges. Our proposed diagnostic indicators offer a new approach for early detection, which benefits early identification. PURPOSE To determine the most appropriate threshold for predicting osteoporosis in patients with each section of vertebral body. MATERIAL AND METHODS A retrospective analysis of 210 patients, including 646 vertebrae, who had both abdominal computed tomography (CT) and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) within six months. The correlation between DXA T-score and CT Hounsfield units (HU) values was tested by Pearson. The area under the curve (AUC) was calculated using the threshold obtained from the regression equation. RESULTS The thresholds matching the T-score of -2.5 were 85, 95, 85, and 90 HU for the upper axial plane of the vertebral body (Lau), the middle axial plane of the vertebral body (Lam), the lower axial plane of the vertebral body (Lad), and the mid-sagittal plane of the vertebral body (Lsm), respectively. Defining osteoporosis using CT as Lau ≤ 85, Lam ≤ 95, Lad ≤ 85, or Lsm ≤ 90 HU had a specificity of 88.1% (116/134) and sensitivity of 90.8% (69/76) for distinguishing DXA osteoporosis of the lumbar spine in 210 patients. T-score ≤-2.5 defined as Lau ≤85 or Lam ≤95 or Lad ≤85 or Lsm ≤90 HU had a specificity of 85.9% (275/320) and sensitivity of 82.8% (270/326) for DXA T-score ≤-2.5 in 646 lumbar vertebrae. CONCLUSION CT HU values obtained based on different sections of the vertebral body in abdominal CT can be used as a supplementary measure to assess osteoporosis.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the influencing factors of electronic cigarette use among adolescent students in China. Methods: We searched CNKI, Database of Chinese sci-tech periodicals (VIP), Wan-fang database, PubMed, Web of Science and ScienceDirect for potentially relevant articles published from the inception to March 20th, 2023. The Metagen package in R was used for Meta-analysis. Results: A total of 19 publications with a sample size of 5 336 017 were identified. The results showed that electronic cigarette use among Chinese adolescent students was associated with gender (OR=2.41, 95%CI: 2.03-2.86), close friends smoking (OR=3.02, 95%CI: 2.08-4.39), current smoking (OR=11.26, 95%CI: 4.35-29.18), friends using electronic cigarettes (OR=5.19, 95%CI: 2.01-13.38), thinking smoking makes young people look more attractive (OR=2.00, 95%CI: 1.35-2.97), type of school (OR=2.10, 95%CI: 1.59-2.78), thinking smoking makes people feel more comfortable in social situations (OR=3.58, 95%CI: 2.99-4.28), other tobacco use (OR=5.53, 95%CI: 3.33-9.20), and ever experimented with cigarette use (OR=9.32, 95%CI: 4.38-19.80). Conclusion: The influencing factors for electronic cigarette use among adolescent students in China include gender, close friends smoking, current smoking, friends using electronic cigarettes, thinking smoking makes young people look more attractive, type of school, thinking smoking makes people feel more comfortable in social situations, other tobacco use, and ever experimented with cigarette use.

Abstract
We report the observation of a set of coherent high frequency electromagnetic fluctuations that leads to a turbulence induced self-regulating phenomenon in the DIII-D high bootstrap current fraction plasma. The fluctuations have frequency of 130-220 kHz, the poloidal wavelength and phase velocity are 16-30 m^{-1} and ∼30 km/s, respectively, in the outboard midplane with the estimated toroidal mode number n∼5-9. The fluctuations are located in the internal transport barrier (ITB) region at large radius and are experimentally validated to be kinetic ballooning modes (KBM). Quasilinear estimation predicts the KBM to be able to drive experimental particle flux and non-negligible thermal flux, suggesting its significant role in regulating the ITB saturation.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) To refine oligometastatic disease (OMD) and construct M1 categories for de novo metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma (dmNPC) MATERIALS/METHODS: We included 504 patients who received chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy between 2010-2019 from two centers (training and validation cohort). Multivariable analyses were used to evaluate the prognostic value of OMD and metastatic organs, which were then used to construct M1 categories RESULTS: The median follow-up for the training and validation cohorts were 46 and 57 months, respectively. OMD (≤ 2 metastatic organs and ≤ 5 metastatic lesions) had the highest C-index compared to the other models in both cohorts. Multivariable analyses, in which both OMD and liver metastases did not coexist, revealed that OMD (hazard ratio [HR] = 2.110 and 1.598) and liver metastases (HR = 1.572 and 1.452) were prognostic factors for overall survival (OS) in both cohorts. Based on OMD and liver metastases, patients with dmNPC were divided into M1a (OMD without liver metastases) and M1b (OMD with liver metastases or polymetastatic disease). The 3-year OS of the M1a patients was better than that of the M1b patients in both cohorts (both p < 0.001). In the anti-PD1 mAb and chemotherapy cohorts, patients with M1ahad a significantly better median progression-free survival than those with M1b (p < 0.001) CONCLUSION: OMD with ≤ 2 metastatic organs and ≤ 5 metastatic lesions is an appropriate definition for dmNPC. M1 subcategories constructed based on OMD and liver metastases improved prognostic evaluation for patients with dmNPC who received chemotherapy or antiPD1 mAb treatment.

Abstract
Floating-gate memories based on two-dimensional van der Waal (2D vdW) heterostructures play an important role in the development of next-generation information technology. The diversity of 2D vdW materials and their heterostructures provides flexibility in the design of novel storage architectures. However, 2D InSe/h-BN/GaSe heterostructures are rarely reported in the field of tunable non-volatile memories, probably due to the quality limitation of materials and complex interfaces from stackings. Herein, a floating-gate 2D InSe/h-BN/GaSe memory with high performance and atmosphere stability is demonstrated. It exhibits both a large ON/OFF current ratio of ∼105 and a good extinction ratio of ∼103, with an estimated maximum storage capacity of 5.1 × 1012 cm-2. Moreover, the storage performance can be regulated by optimizing the thickness of the insulating h-BN layer. Different device configurations have been explored to validate the working mechanism. Furthermore, a simulation of biological synaptic behavior is achieved on the same prototype device. The enhanced non-volatile characteristics enable the exploration of the integrated 2D memory and potential multifunctionality.

Abstract
Background Cervical spondylopathy is a common musculo-articular disorder, multiple exercises are recommended. Chinese fitness exercises are prevalent and used to treat various diseases. Aim To explore the efficacy of Chinese fitness exercise Yi Jin Jing exercise in intervening the cervical spondylopathy in adolescents. Patients and Methods The study was conducted in 60 adolescent patients with cervical spondylopathy, with 30 patients in each group. Methods The study was conducted in 60 adolescent patients with cervical spondylopathy, with 30 patients in each group. The observation group was required to take Yi Jin Jing exercise, and the control group took the brisk walking exercise. The first week was the preparatory period for the patients, and then the participants were required to do exercises three times a week for at least 30 minutes in the later 3 weeks. Before and after treatment, Neck Disability Index (NDI) scores, pain visual analog scale (VAS) scores, and cervical curvature in both groups were observed, and the incidence of adverse events in both groups was recorded during the trial. Results The NDI and VAS scores in both groups statistically decreased after intervention and mildly increased at follow-up, while the reduction in scores of the Yi Jin Jing group was more significant. Cervical curvature in both groups improved on day 28 compared to day 0. There were no adverse reactions during the evaluation period. Conclusion The Chinese health-care qigong Yi Jin Jing exercise is more effective than brisk walking in improving the cervical range of motion and relieving pain in adolescents with cervical spondylopathy. Abstract
Objective: To analyze the drug resistance and multilocus sequence typing of five types of diarrheagenic Escherichia coli (DEC) isolated from diarrhea outpatients of diarrhea comprehensive monitoring designated hospital in Qingpu District, Shanghai City from 2015 to 2019. Methods: From January 2015 to December 2019, five types of DEC, isolated and identified from diarrhea outpatient cases' anal swabs of the Qingpu branch of Zhongshan Hospital were collected to determine the minimal inhibitory concentration by using the micro broth dilution susceptibility test. The strains, resistant to the third-generation cephalosporins or carbapenems, or producing ESBLs, were selected based on the results of sensitivity tests and determined by WGS. The MLST typing of DEC was analyzed based on the WGS technology and the minimum spanning tree was constructed by BioNumerics 7.6 software to analyze the local dominant flora. Results: A total of 513 strains of DEC were detected and isolated from 4 494 anal swabs, with a detection rate of 11.42%. About 500 strains were tested for drug sensitivity to nine antibiotics in four classes, including 330 strains of enterotoxigenic E.coli (ETEC), 72 strains of enteroaggregative E.coli (EAEC), 95 strains of enteropathogenic E.coli (EPEC), 1 strain of enterohemorrhagic E.coli (EHEC), and 2 strains of enteroinvasive E.coli (EIEC). From 2015 to 2019, the resistance rate of cefotaxime-clavulanic acid was significantly different (P<0.05). The resistance rate of virulence types of DEC to nalixic acid was significantly different (P<0.05). About 71 strains of DEC were determined by WGS, and 77 drug-resistant genes were detected. Strains were classified into 32 ST subtypes, with the dominant genotypes being ST-1491 (29.6%, 21/71) and ST-10 Complex (23.9%, 17/71). All ST-1491 produced ESBLs, which were blaCTX-M gene mutant strains. The dominant type of ST-10 complex was ST-218 (35.3%, 6/17). In addition, 8 strains of EAEC, 14 strains of EPEC and 49 strains of ETEC were classified into 7, 14 and 18 ST subtypes, respectively. Conclusion: The drug resistance of DEC strains from the diarrhea outpatient case of Qingpu District is serious. The ST types of EAEC and EPEC are highly polymorphic. The dominant ST types of DEC are basically consistent with the common genotypes in southeast China.

Abstract
People are increasingly enthusiastic about pursuing spiritual life as economic and social development continues. Consequently, public cultural content has emerged as a pivotal instrument for promoting international soft power across diverse nations and regions. In today's era of advanced artificial intelligence, cultural sign design optimization has become achievable through its deployment. This article establishes an automatic layout optimization framework, specifically tailored to meet the visual communication requirements of public cultural signage. Our framework employs Faster-R-CNN for detecting and extracting key elements of the poster, yielding an impressive average detection accuracy of 94.6%. Subsequently, we use the three-division method in design to optimize the layout, ensuring that cultural logo design conforms to visual communication principles. Our framework produced an average cultural logo satisfaction rating exceeding 70% in actual tests, providing novel insights for cultural sign design within the artificial intelligence context and significantly enhancing the efficacy of visual communication conveyed through such signage.

Abstract
In the age of big data, visual communication has emerged as a critical means of engaging with customers. Among multiple modes of visual communication, digital animation advertising is an exceptionally potent tool. Advertisers can create lively and compelling ads by harnessing the power of digital animation technology. This article proposes a multimodal visual communication system (MVCS) model based on multimodal video emotion analysis. This model automatically adjusts video content and playback mode according to users' emotions and interests, achieving more personalized video communication. The MVCS model analyses videos from multiple dimensions, such as vision, sound, and text, by training on a large-scale video dataset. We employ convolutional neural networks to extract the visual features of videos, while the audio and text features are extracted and analyzed for emotions using recurrent neural networks. By integrating feature information, the MVCS model can dynamically adjust the video's playback mode based on users' emotions and interaction behaviours, which increases its playback volume. We conducted a satisfaction survey on 106 digitally corrected ads created using the MVCS method to evaluate our approach's effectiveness. Results showed that 92.6% of users expressed satisfaction with the adjusted ads, indicating the MVCS model's efficacy in enhancing digital ad design effectiveness.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Linezolid is an effective, but toxic anti-tuberculosis drug that is currently recommended for the treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis. Improved oxazolidinones should have a better safety profile, while preserving efficacy. Delpazolid is a novel oxazolidinone developed by LegoChem Biosciences Inc. that has been evaluated up to phase 2a clinical trials. Since oxazolidinone toxicity can occur late in treatment, LegoChem Biosciences Inc. and the PanACEA Consortium designed DECODE to be an innovative dose-ranging study with long-term follow-up for determining the exposure-response and exposure-toxicity relationship of delpazolid to support dose selection for later studies. Delpazolid is administered in combination with bedaquiline, delamanid and moxifloxacin. METHODS Seventy-five participants with drug-sensitive, pulmonary tuberculosis will receive bedaquiline, delamanid and moxifloxacin, and will be randomized to delpazolid dosages of 0 mg, 400 mg, 800 mg, 1200 mg once daily, or 800 mg twice daily, for 16 weeks. The primary efficacy endpoint will be the rate of decline of bacterial load on treatment, measured by MGIT liquid culture time to detection from weekly sputum cultures. The primary safety endpoint will be the proportion of oxazolidinone class toxicities; neuropathy, myelosuppression, or tyramine pressor response. Participants who convert to negative liquid media culture by week 8 will stop treatment after the end of their 16-week course and will be observed for relapse until week 52. Participants who do not convert to negative culture will receive continuation phase treatment with rifampicin and isoniazid to complete a six-month treatment course. DISCUSSION DECODE is an innovative dose-finding trial, designed to support exposure-response modelling for safe and effective dose selection. The trial design allows assessment of occurrence of late toxicities as observed with linezolid, which is necessary in clinical evaluation of novel oxazolidinones. The primary efficacy endpoint is the change in bacterial load, an endpoint conventionally used in shorter dose-finding trials. Long-term follow-up after shortened treatment is possible through a safety rule excluding slow-and non-responders from potentially poorly performing dosages. Abstract
Retinoid signaling disorders cause craniofacial deformity, among which infants with maternal vitamin A deficiency (VAD) exhibited malformation of the eye, nose, palate, and parietal and jaw bone. Previous research uncovered the pathogenesis of eye defect and cleft palate of VAD in mice, but the studies on craniofacial skeletal deformity met obstacles, and the cell/lineage and underlying mechanism remain unclear. The retinoic acid receptor (RAR) is the key transcription factor in retinoid signaling, but individual knockout cannot simulate pathway inhibition. Here, we conditionally expressed dominant-negative RARα mutation (dnRARα) in osteoblasts to specifically inhibit the transcription activity of RAR in mice, which mimics the craniofacial deformities caused by VAD in clinical cases: hypomineralization of cranial bones, mandibular deformity, and clavicular hypoplasia. Furthermore, we performed 3-dimensional reconstruction based on micro-computed tomography and confirmed the abnormalities in the shape, size, and ossification of craniofacial bones due to osteoblastic RAR inhibition. Histological analysis indicated that inhibition of RAR in osteoblasts impaired both bone formation and bone resorption, which was confirmed by transcriptome sequencing of the calvaria. Furthermore, mechanism investigation showed that inhibition of RAR in osteoblasts directly decreased osteoblast differentiation in a cell-autonomous manner by impairing osteogenic gene transcription and also inhibited osteoclast differentiation via osteoblast-osteoclast crosstalk by impairing Rankl transcription. In summary, osteoblastic RAR activity is critical to craniofacial skeletal development, and its dysfunction leads to skeletal deformities mimicking VAD craniofacial defects, providing a new insight for VAD pathogenesis.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To establish a simple, low-cost and time-saving method for primary culture of mature white adipocytes from mice. METHODS Mature white adipocytes were isolated from the epididymis and perirenal area of mice for primary culture using a modified mature adipocyte culture method or the ceiling culture method. The morphology of the cultured mature adipocytes was observed using Oil Red O staining, and the cell viability was assessed with CCK8 method. The expression of PPARγ protein in the cells was detected with Western blotting, and the mRNA expressions of CD36, FAS, CPT1A and FABP4 were detected using RT-qPCR. RESULTS Oil Red O staining showed a good and uniform morphology of the adipocytes in primary culture using the modified culture method, while the cells cultured using the ceiling culture method exhibited obvious morphological changes. CCK8 assay showed no significant difference in cell viability between freshly isolated mature white adipocytes and the cells obtained with the modified culture method. Western blotting showed that the freshly isolated adipocytes and the cells cultured for 72 h did not differ significantly in the expression levels of PPARγ protein (P=0.759), which was significantly lowered in response to treatment with GW9662 (P < 0.001). GW9662 treatment of the cells upregulated mRNA expressions of CD36 (P < 0.001) and CPT1A (P=0.003) and down-regulated those of FAS (P=0.001) and FABP4 (P < 0.001). CONCLUSION We established a convenient and time-saving method for primary culture mature white adipocytes from mice to facilitate further functional studies of mature adipocytes.

Abstract
Silicon (Si) exhibits a rich collection of phase transitions under ambient-temperature isothermal and shock compression. This report describes in situ diffraction measurements of ramp-compressed Si between 40 and 389 GPa. Angle-dispersive x-ray scattering reveals that Si assumes an hexagonal close-packed (hcp) structure between 40 and 93 GPa and, at higher pressure, a face-centered cubic structure that persists to at least 389 GPa, the highest pressure for which the crystal structure of Si has been investigated. The range of hcp stability extends to higher pressures and temperatures than predicted by theory.

Abstract
Reduction of hexavalent uranium [U(VI)] by the photocatalytic method opens up a novel way to promote the selectivity, kinetics, and capacity during uranium removal, where organic molecules act as the sacrificial agents. However, the addition of sacrificial agents can cause a secondary environmental pollution and increase the cost. Here, a UiO-66-based photocatalyst (denoted as MnOx/NH2-UiO-66) simultaneously with efficient U(VI) confinement sites and water oxidation sites was successfully developed, achieving excellent U(VI) removal without sacrificial agents. In MnOx/NH2-UiO-66, the amino groups served as efficient U(VI) confinement sites and further decreased the U(VI) reduction potential. Besides, MnOx nanoparticles separated the photogenerated electron-hole pairs and provided water oxidation sites. The U(VI) confinement sites and water oxidation sites jointly promoted the U(VI) photoreduction performance of MnOx/NH2-UiO-66, resulting in the removal ratio of MnOx/NH2-UiO-66 for U(VI) achieving 97.8% in 2 h without hole sacrifice agents. This work not only provides an effective UiO-66-based photocatalyst but also offers a strategy for effective U(VI) photoreduction.

Abstract
Background Drug repurposing has gained increased attention because it proposes to find effective cures for new diseases from approved drugs to lower development costs and time, and computational prediction of protein-ligand interactions (PLI) can provide accurate and fast drug screening. The shortcomings of existing machine learning-based methods for PLI prediction include 1) using human-selected features leads to loss of information and therefore lower accuracy and 2) using limited 3D structure data for input leads to lower generalizability. Methods To address the shortcomings, I proposed DeepLPI, a novel deep learning-based model that takes as input the raw sequences of drug molecules and proteins. DeepLPI applied pre-trained embedding models to encode the raw sequences into dense vector representations, which were then fed into 1D-CNN and biLSTM to obtain predictions. BindingDB dataset was used for model training and performance evaluation that is compared with a start-of-the-art method DeepCDA.

A randomly reserved part of the BindingDB dataset was grouped into four cases for testing, according to whether the drug molecules or the proteins are seen in the training set. (Note that the drug-target pairs in the test set are excluded from the training set.) ![]() We compare with DeepCDA, a recently published DTI prediction model that reported to be better than previous models. DeepLPI is 76% better in accuracy metric AUROC in classification tasks. ![]() As a preliminary attempt, the model trained on BindingDB was applied to a recent COVID-19 dataset targeting the 3CL-protease, which reported 897 small molecule drugs. Our model is better than the baseline method by 25%. ![]() Conclusion The high performance of DeepLPI suggests that our model has the potential to identify new COVID-19 drugs when applied to approved drugs. Abstract
Although high-speed grinding of the enamel surface is often required in restorative dentistry, the knowledge of grinding mechanics, material removal, and fracture damage mechanism related to this process is still relatively limited; therefore, it is important to perform relevant scientific and theoretical research. As per the occlusal surface and the buccal/lingual surface of the teeth, the experimental scheme of high-speed grinding of the enamel surface using a diamond grinding bur was designed, and the grinding force, force ratio, grinding temperature, chips, surface morphology, surface damage, and other important characteristics were tested and analyzed. Furthermore, the grinding geometry model, grinding mechanics, material fracture, and removal mechanism associated with the high-speed grinding of an enamel surface were considered. The results show that the grinding force, friction coefficient, grinding temperature, and surface damage achieved through buccal/lingual surface grinding are considerably greater, and the grinding quality is worse than that obtained via occlusal surface grinding under the same grinding conditions. With the increase in the feed rate, grinding force, friction coefficient, grinding temperature, and surface damage obviously increase, and the surface quality decreases. The embrittlement effect and the ironing mechanism are present during the process of high-speed grinding of enamel. Regardless of the feed rate, the three types of material fracture modes of the buccal/lingual surface are more serious than those of the occlusal surface (making it more likely to produce unstable large chips or tearing chips); moreover, the brittle fracture and damage of the final machined surface are more obvious. The cutting mechanics and cutting mechanism identified in this study will provide scientific guidance for dental grinding operations.

Abstract
Ameloblastoma (AB) is an odontogenic tumor that arises from ameloblast-lineage cells. Although relatively uncommon and rarely metastatic, AB tumors are locally invasive and destructive to the jawbone and surrounding structures. Standard-of-care surgical resection often leads to disfigurement, and many tumors will locally recur, necessitating increasingly challenging surgeries. Recent genomic studies of AB have uncovered oncogenic driver mutations, including in the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and Hedgehog signaling pathways. Medical therapies targeting those drivers would be a highly desirable alternative or addition to surgery; however, a paucity of existing AB cell lines has stymied clinical translation. To bridge this gap, here we report the establishment of 6 new AB cell lines-generated by "conditional reprogramming"-and their genomic characterization that reveals driver mutations in FGFR2, KRAS, NRAS, BRAF, PIK3CA, and SMO. Furthermore, in proof-of-principle studies, we use the new cell lines to investigate AB oncogene dependency and drug sensitivity. Among our findings, AB cells with KRAS or NRAS mutation (MAPK pathway) are exquisitely sensitive to MEK inhibition, which propels ameloblast differentiation. AB cells with activating SMO-L412F mutation (Hedgehog pathway) are insensitive to vismodegib; however, a distinct small-molecule SMO inhibitor, BMS-833923, significantly reduces both downstream Hedgehog signaling and tumor cell viability. The novel cell line resource enables preclinical studies and promises to speed the translation of new molecularly targeted therapies for the management of ameloblastoma and related odontogenic neoplasms.

Abstract
The substantial cost of new drug research and development has consistently posed a huge burden for both pharmaceutical companies and patients. In order to lower the expenditure and development failure rate, repurposing existing and approved drugs by identifying interactions between drug molecules and target proteins based on computational methods have gained growing attention. Here, we propose the DeepLPI, a novel deep learning-based model that mainly consists of ResNet-based 1-dimensional convolutional neural network (1D CNN) and bi-directional long short term memory network (biLSTM), to establish an end-to-end framework for protein-ligand interaction prediction. We first encode the raw drug molecular sequences and target protein sequences into dense vector representations, which go through two ResNet-based 1D CNN modules to derive features, respectively. The extracted feature vectors are concatenated and further fed into the biLSTM network, followed by the MLP module to finally predict protein-ligand interaction. We downloaded the well-known BindingDB and Davis dataset for training and testing our DeepLPI model. We also applied DeepLPI on a COVID-19 dataset for externally evaluating the prediction ability of DeepLPI. To benchmark our model, we compared our DeepLPI with the baseline methods of DeepCDA and DeepDTA, and observed that our DeepLPI outperformed these methods, suggesting the high accuracy of the DeepLPI towards protein-ligand interaction prediction. The high prediction performance of DeepLPI on the different datasets displayed its high capability of protein-ligand interaction in generalization, demonstrating that the DeepLPI has the potential to pinpoint new drug-target interactions and to find better destinations for proven drugs.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To summarize our experience in the application of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and microwave ablation (MWA) for selective fetal reduction in complicated monochorionic pregnancies and compare the perinatal outcome of the two techniques. METHODS This was a retrospective study of data from a consecutive cohort of all monochorionic twin pregnancies that underwent selective fetal reduction with RFA or MWA at Peking University Third Hospital, Beijing, China from January 2012 to December 2018. All surviving cotwins were followed up to assess their neurodevelopment using the Age & Stage Questionnaire, Chinese version. Perinatal and neurodevelopmental outcomes were compared between the RFA and MWA groups. We also fitted multivariable models to test the association between procedure-related factors and the main perinatal outcomes, including preterm birth (PTB) < 37 weeks' gestation, intrauterine fetal death (IUFD) of the cotwin, adverse outcome (defined as occurrence of IUFD of the cotwin, termination of pregnancy or PTB < 28 weeks) and overall survival. RESULTS In total, 45 cases (42 twin and three triplet pregnancies) underwent RFA and 126 cases (105 twin and 21 triplet pregnancies) underwent MWA. The overall survival rates in monochorionic diamniotic twin pregnancies were similar between the RFA and MWA groups (61.0% vs 67.0%; P = 0.494). However, pregnancies whose indication for fetal reduction was selective intrauterine growth restriction or twin reversed arterial perfusion had higher overall survival rates (75.5% and 82.6%, respectively) compared with those in other indication groups. A total of 104 children were followed up (20 in the RFA group and 84 in the MWA group); four (20.0%) and eight (9.5%) children were assessed as having overall developmental delay in the RFA and MWA groups, respectively, with no significant difference between the two groups. Multivariable analyses showed that procedure indication, number of ablation cycles and gestational age at procedure were associated significantly with the main perinatal outcomes. CONCLUSIONS RFA and MWA for selective fetal reduction in complicated monochorionic pregnancies can achieve similar overall survival rate and neurodevelopmental outcome, but MWA is associated with a lower risk of preterm birth. BACKGROUND Intra-abdominal hypertension (IAH) is a classical complication after giant ventral hernia surgery and may lead to abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS). Assessment of risk factors and prevention of IAH/ACS are essential for hernia surgeons. METHODS We performed a retrospective study including 58 giant ventral hernia patients in our center between Jan 1, 2017, and Mar 1, 2022, we recorded age, gender, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), coronary heart disease (CHD), hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), hypoproteinemia, body mass index (BMI), the ratio of hernia sac volume to abdominal cavity volume (HSV/ACV), defect width, tension reduction procedure (TRP), positive fluid balance (PFB) and IAH of these patients and analyzed the data using univariate and multivariate logistic regression to screen the risk factors for IAH after surgery. RESULTS The multivariate analysis showed that HSV/ACV ≥ 25%, hypoproteinemia, and PFB were independent risk factors for the occurrence of IAH after giant ventral hernia repair (P = 0.025, 0.016, 0.017, respectively). We did not find any correlation between postoperative IAH and the patient's age, gender, COPD, CHD, hypertension, T2DM, BMI, defect width, TRP, and PFB. CONCLUSION Identifying risk factors is of great significance for the early identification and prevention of IAH/ACS. We found that HSV/ACV ≥ 25%, hypoproteinemia, and PFB were independent risk factors for IAH after giant ventral hernia repair.

Abstract
Background Maize (Zea mays L.) is a staple crop cultivated on a global scale. However, its ability to feed the rapidly growing human population may be impaired by climate change, especially if it has low climatic niche and range lability. One important question requiring clarification is therefore whether maize shows high niche and range lability. Methods We used the COUE scheme (a unified terminology representing niche centroid shift, overlap, unfilling and expansion) and species distribution models to study the niche and range changes between maize and its wild progenitors using occurrence records of maize, lowland teosinte (Zea mays ssp. parviglumis) and highland teosinte (Zea mays ssp. mexicana), respectively, as well as explore the mechanisms underlying the niche and range changes. Results In contrast to maize in Mexico, maize did not conserve its niche inherited from lowland and highland teosinte at the global scale. The niche breadth of maize at the global scale was wider than that of its wild progenitors (ca. 5.21 and 3.53 times wider compared with lowland and highland teosinte, respectively). Compared with its wild progenitors, maize at global scale can survive in regions with colder, wetter climatic conditions, as well as with wider ranges of climatic variables (ca. 4.51 and 2.40 times wider compared with lowland and highland teosinte, respectively). The niche changes of maize were largely driven by human introduction and cultivation, which have exposed maize to climatic conditions different from those experienced by its wild progenitors. Small changes in niche breadth had large effects on the magnitude of range shifts; changes in niche breadth thus merit increased attention. Discussion Our results demonstrate that maize shows wide climatic niche and range lability, and this substantially expanded its realized niche and potential range. Our findings also suggest that niche and range shifts probably triggered by natural and artificial selection in cultivation may enable maize to become a global staple crop to feed the growing population and adapting to changing climatic conditions. Future analyses are needed to determine the limits of the novel conditions that maize can tolerate, especially relative to projected climate change.

Abstract
To solve the problem regarding the lack of a lightweight and secure authentication and key agreement protocol in the Constrained Application Protocol of the Internet of Things environment, we explore the security flaws and applicability problems in the current related research. Then, we propose a new lightweight authentication and key agreement protocol based on the CoAP framework. The scheme adopts shared secret and elliptic curve public key technology, which ensures the anonymity of the communicators and provides strong security and anti-attack capacity. In terms of security analysis, the Dolev-Yao Adversary model and a security model checking analysis method based on CPN Tools are improved, in order to verify the correctness and security of the proposed scheme. Compared with other schemes, regarding communication overhead, computational cost, and security, the proposed scheme provides a robust and comprehensive security guarantee, although it is not the lightest.

Abstract
The ecological niche concept has provided insights into various areas in ecology and biogeography. Although there remains much controversy regarding whether species niches are conserved across space and time, many recent studies have suggested that invasive species conserve their climatic niche between native and introduced ranges; however, whether the climatic niche of cultivated invasive species, whose niches are strongly affected by human activities, are conserved between native and introduced ranges remains unclear. Additionally, the range dynamics of invasive species in their native and introduced regions have not been extensively studied. Here, we investigated the niche and range dynamics of Tasmanian blue gum (Eucalyptus globulus Labill.), a globally cultivated invasive tree, using ecological niche models and niche dynamic analyses. The most important factors affecting the niche changes between native and introduced Tasmanian blue gum were max temperature of the warmest month and precipitation of the wettest month. The climate niche was not conserved between introduced and native range Tasmanian blue gum; moreover, the niche area of the former was ca. 7.4 times larger than that of the latter, as introduced Tasmanian blue gum could survive in hotter, colder, wetter, and drier climates. In addition, the potential range of introduced Tasmanian blue gum was ca. 32 times larger than that of its native counterpart. Human introduction and cultivation may play a key role in the niche and range expansion of introduced Tasmanian blue gum. Given that small increases in niche area can result in large range expansions, the niche expansion of an invasive species could be used to evaluate invasion risk, which might even be more sensitive than range expansions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Patients with stroke etiology of large-artery atherosclerosis were thought to have better collateral circulation compared with patients with other stroke etiologies. We aimed to investigate the association between stroke etiology and collateral circulation with a new quantitative collateral assessment method. MATERIALS AND METHODS This retrospective study reviewed data from consecutive patients with proximal anterior artery occlusion who underwent CTP before reperfusion therapy. CBF maps were derived from CTP. A new indicator, maximum CBF of collateral vessels within the Sylvian fissure (cCBFmax), was applied to quantitatively assess the collateral status. The relationship between collateral status and stroke etiology was investigated. RESULTS A total of 296 patients were finally analyzed. The median cCBFmax was significantly higher in patients with large-artery atherosclerosis than in those without it (92 [interquartile range, 65-123] mL/100 g/min versus 62 [interquartile range, 46-82] mL/100 g/min; P < .001). Multivariable analysis revealed that a higher cCBFmax score was independently associated with large-artery atherosclerosis etiology (OR, 1.010; 95% CI, 1.002-1.018; P = .017) after adjustment. The area under the curve, sensitivity, and specificity of the final model in predicting the etiology of large-artery atherosclerosis were 0.870, 89.7%, and 75.2%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS Patients with large-artery atherosclerosis had a more adequate collateral perfusion supply with the new quantitative collateral assessment. The new quantitative collateral measurement might contribute to the prediction of stroke etiology in the acute clinical scenario for patients with acute ischemic stroke.

Abstract
Gut microbes significantly impact animal health, yet research on the gut microbiota of most birds, especially raptors, is lacking. This study investigated the effects of dietary and environmental changes on the composition and abundance of gut microbiota in 17 rescued common kestrels (Falco tinnunculus) through 16S rRNA gene high-throughput sequencing of microorganisms in the feces of the birds. Firmicutes (relative abundance, 43.63%), Proteobacteria (37.26%), Actinobacteria (7.31%), and Bacteroidetes (5.48%) were the dominant phyla in the gut microbiota of the common kestrels. A comparison of the gut microbiota before and after captivity revealed that community composition and abundance of the common kestrel gut microbiota differed among different living conditions including diet and environment. At the phylum level, the abundance of Firmicutes was higher (P < 0.05), and that of Proteobacteria was lower (P < 0.05), after captivity (54.62 and 27.16%, respectively) compared with before captivity (33.67 and 46.41%, respectively), but no significant differences were found among other phyla. At the genus level, the abundance of Lactobacillus was higher (P < 0.05) after captivity (15.77%) compared with the abundance before captivity (5.02%). Hierarchical clustering and principal component analyses showed that common kestrels in different living conditions exhibited differences (P < 0.05) in gut microbiota at phylum and genus levels. Functional prediction of gene sequences using PICRUSt2 further revealed that pathways related to glucose metabolism and amino acid metabolism were enhanced (P < 0.05) after captivity. Collectively, the findings from this study demonstrated that the relative abundance of specific microbes in the gut of the rescued common kestrels either increased or decreased, and that dietary and environment changes might be the predominant factors affecting the gut microbiota of these birds during rescue or captivity.

Abstract
Introduction Female sexual dysfunction (FSD) seriously affects the quality of life of women. However, most women do not have access to effective treatment. Aim This study aimed to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of the use of acupuncture in FSD treatment based on existing clear acupuncture protocol and experience-supported face-to-face therapy. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on 24 patients with FSD who received acupuncture from October 2018 to February 2022. The Chinese version of the female sexual function index , subjective sensation, sexual desire, sexual arousal, vaginal lubrication, orgasm, sexual satisfaction, and dyspareunia scores were compared before and after the treatment in all 24 patients. Main Outcome Measure A specific female sexual function index questionnaire was used to assess changes in female sexual function before and after the acupuncture treatment. Results In this study, the overall treatment improvement rate of FSD was 100%. The Chinese version of the female sexual function index total score, sexual desire score, sexual arousal score, vaginal lubrication score, orgasm score, sexual satisfaction score, and dyspareunia score during intercourse were significantly different before and after the treatment (P < .05). Consequently, participants reported high levels of satisfaction with acupuncture. This study indicates that acupuncture could be a new and effective technique for treating FSD. The main advantages of this study are its design and efficacy in treating FSD. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of FSD using the female sexual function index scale from 6 dimensions. The second advantage is that the method used (ie, the nonpharmacological method) is simple, readily available, highly safe with few side effects, and relatively inexpensive with high patient satisfaction. However, limitations include small sample size and lack of further detailed grouping, pre and post control study of patients, blank control group, and pre and post control study of sex hormones. Conclusion Acupuncture can effectively treat FSD from all dimensions with high safety, good satisfaction, and definite curative effect, and thus, it is worthy of promotion and application. Abstract
PurposeCrowdsourcing platforms have emerged as an innovative way to generate ideas and solving problems. However, promoting sustained participation among crowdworkers is an ongoing challenge for most crowdsourcing platform providers. Drawing on self-determination theory, this study investigates the impacts of job autonomy on crowdworkers' sustained participation intention.Design/methodology/approachA survey of 212 crowdworkers from a leading crowdsourcing platform in China was conducted to empirically validate the model.FindingsThe empirical results lead to several key findings. First, the taxonomy of job autonomy in crowdsourcing contains three archetypes: work-scheduling autonomy, work-task autonomy, and work-method autonomy. Second, work-scheduling autonomy and work-method autonomy have more significant positive effects on temporal value than work-task autonomy, and this increase in temporal value increases crowdworkers' sustained participation intention. Third, work-task autonomy exerts a stronger influence on hedonic value than work-scheduling autonomy or work-method autonomy, and this increase in hedonic value also increases crowdworkers' sustained participation intention.Originality/valueThis study extends the crowdsourcing literature by examining the formation of crowdworkers' sustained participation and highlighting the role of differential effects of multidimensional job autonomy on crowdworkers' sustained participation. We believe that this study provides actionable insights into measures that promote crowdworkers' sustained participation in the crowdsourcing platform.

Abstract
The reduction of U(VI) to U(IV) in wastewater by semiconductor photocatalysis has become a new highly efficient and low-cost method for U(VI) removal. However, due to the weak absorption of visible light led by wide band gap and low carrier utilization rate resulted from the severe electron-holes recombination, the photoreduction performance of U(VI) is limited. Herein, the Ti vacancies and doped Fe atoms were simultaneously introduced into TiO2 nanosheet (labeled as 4%Fe-Ti1-xO2) as a highly active and stable catalysis for U(VI) photoreduction. Without adding any hole sacrifice agent, 4%Fe-Ti1-xO2 nanosheets achieved 99.7% removal efficiency for U(VI) within 120 min. And the 92.1% removal efficiency of U(VI) via 4%Fe-Ti1-xO2 nanosheets was still maintained after 5 cycles. Moreover, 4%Fe-Ti1-xO2 exhibited dramatic removal rate, 81.6% U(VI) in the solution was removed in 10 min. Further study on the mechanism showed that simultaneously introducing the Ti vacancies and doped Fe atoms in 4%Fe-Ti1-xO2 nanosheets improved the visible light utilization and decreased the recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs, contributing to the highly efficiency removal of U(VI).

Abstract
Metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is the most aggressive type of breast cancer. Combination of systemic chemotherapy and immune checkpoint blockade is effective but of limited benefit due to insufficient intratumoral infiltration of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) and the accumulation of immunosuppressive cells. Herein, we designed a lenvatinib- and vadimezan-loaded synthetic high-density lipoprotein (LV-sHDL) for combinational immunochemotherapy of metastatic TNBC. The LV-sHDL targeted scavenger receptor class B type 1-overexpressing 4T1 cells in the tumor after intravenous injection. The multitargeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) lenvatinib induced immunogenic cell death of the cancer cells, and the stimulator of interferon genes (STING) agonist vadimezan triggered local inflammation to facilitate dendritic cell maturation and antitumor macrophage differentiation, which synergistically improved the intratumoral infiltration of total and active CTLs by 33- and 13-fold, respectively. LV-sHDL inhibited the growth of orthotopic 4T1 tumors, reduced pulmonary metastasis, and prolonged the survival of animals. The efficacy could be further improved when LV-sHDL was used in combination with antibody against programmed cell death ligand 1. This study highlights the combination use of multitargeted TKI and STING agonist a promising treatment for metastatic TNBC.

Abstract
AIM To assess the relationship between gadolinium deposition in the brain and various gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs) and to explore confounding variables. METHODS The study group included 87 patients with multiple enhanced brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations of which 48 patients were in the linear GBCA group (33 patients in gadopentetate dimeglumine group and 15 patients in gadobenate dimeglumine group) and 39 patients in the macrocyclic GBCA group (22 patients in gadobutrol group and 17 patients in gadoterate meglumine group). The control group included 87 normal participants who were matched regarding age, sex, MRI machine and imaging sequences to the study cohort. T1 signal intensity (SI) ratios of the dentate nucleus to the pons (DN/pons) and of the globus pallidus to the frontal white matter (GP/FWM) in both groups were calculated and compared. The relationships between SI ratios and confounding variables were analysed. RESULTS Significant differences were detected between two linear GBCA groups and control groups in T1 SI ratios of the DN/pons and GP/FWM (all p<0.001). There were no differences for two the macrocyclic GBCA groups compared with matching control groups (all p>0.05). T1 SI ratios of the linear GBCA group were significantly higher than those of the macrocyclic GBCA group (p<0.001). In the linear GBCA group, the T1 SI ratios of the DN/pons correlated moderately positively with the number of GBCA administrations (r=0.643, p<0.001), and MRI machine and sequence used. CONCLUSIONS Increased T1 SI could be observed after repeated administrations of linear GBCA. T1 SI of the DN correlated with the number of linear GBCA administrations, and detection might be affected by MRI machine and sequence.

Abstract
With the increasing integration of artificial intelligence (AI) with other fields, machine learning, one of the major methods in AI, has been extensively applied in dentistry in the stage of diagnosis, therapy and prognosis evaluation. Nowadays, numerous studies have reported the applications of machine learning in orthodontics in two major aspects, including image identification and clinical decision support system. Herein, we reviewed the application progress of machine learning in orthodontics in order to provide new insight for the future precision medicine.
