Abstract
Traumatic rupture of the visceral pleura lining the minor pulmonary fissure may produce encapsulated hemopneumothorax limited to the space between the right upper and middle lobes. This lesion, which may persist for several weeks, may be differentiated from cystic pulmonary lesions and from lung abscess by its radiologically demonstrated constant and intimate symmetrical relation to the plane of the minor fissure.
