Abstract
OBJECTIVE For 99mTc-sestamibi parathyroid single photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT), the traditional full-arc 360° acquisition technique has been suggested but not the theoretically low tissue-attenuated anterior 180° method. We aimed to compare the diagnostic performances and target-to-background ratios of anterior 180° and 360° SPECT/CT imaging. METHODS Ninety-nine patients who underwent 99mTc-sestamibi scintigraphy and received a surgical-pathological diagnosis of parathyroid adenoma or hyperplasia were enrolled. The SPECT/CT reconstructed images with anterior 180° and full-arc 360° data were interpreted by two physicians using a scoring scale, and the lesions were semi-quantified using target-to-background ratios for both image sets. RESULTS In total, 113 abnormal parathyroid lesions were identified on the SPECT/CT images. The agreements of interpretation between the two image sets and readers were very good (κ value: 0.83-1.00). The accuracies of summative interpretation for the anterior 180° and full-arc 360° SPECT/CT were 83.04% and 82.46%, respectively. The target-to-background ratios were significantly higher for the anterior 180° than the full-arc 360° images (P < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS The anterior 180° SPECT/CT technique, a time-saving method, can provide satisfactory diagnostic performance and superior lesion contrast compared with the full-arc 360° SPECT/CT technique in 99mTc-sestamibi parathyroid imaging.

Abstract
We reported 99m-Tc phytate accumulation in the pyelocalyceal system of the kidney in the lymphoscintigraphic images of a 3.5 months-old male infant with chylous ascites, which was mistaken with the site of lymph leakage. SPECT/CT localized activity in the para-aortic region to the renal pelvis and on delayed images, this was disappeared. Our case illustrates the added value of SPECT/CT for the differentiation of possible false-positive findings in lymphoscintigraphy.

Abstract
Soft-tissue attenuation of γ-photons is the most common source of artifacts and remains an intricate problem for myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) by SPECT. Breast and subdiaphragmatic artifacts are the most frequent cause of false-positive findings in women. Many methods of overcoming attenuation artifacts have been introduced, including prone positioning to avoid breast attenuation or use of hybrid SPECT/CT systems. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the role of prone images in attenuation correction (AC) when CT AC is compared with MPI. Methods: Forty-four patients were initially included in the study. Statistical analysis was done for 30 patients with suspected or confirmed ischemic heart disease. All patients underwent ordinary supine stress/rest SPECT MPI followed by additional stress/rest prone SPECT and stress/rest SPECT/CT. Each study was interpreted separately, and their results were compared. Results: It was found that 58% (31/53) of the depicted defects were attributable to attenuation artifacts; the CT AC imaging technique was able to correct 52%, versus 49% for prone imaging. Sensitivity, specificity, and diagnostic accuracy were 100%, 90.3%, and 94%, respectively, for CT AC, versus 100%, 83.8%, and 91%, respectively, for prone imaging. Inferior wall defects were more common in men (95%), in whom CT AC performed better than prone imaging (i.e., 92.9% in CT AC vs. 90.9% in prone imaging). On the other hand, anterior wall defects were more common in women (83.3%), in whom prone imaging was better than CT AC. Conclusion: Both CT AC and prone imaging increased the specificity and diagnostic accuracy of MPI without affecting the sensitivity.

Abstract
A new protocol for rapid SPECT/CT blood pool imaging consisting of fewer image-angle acquisitions (fewer-angle SPECT/CT, or FASpecT/CT) was evaluated for localization of focal sites of soft-tissue inflammation, infection, and osteomyelitis. Methods: Immediately after dynamic flow and standard planar blood pool imaging with 99mTc-methylene diphosphonate, FASpecT/CT was performed with a dual-head γ-camera consisting of 6 steps over 360°, 12 total images with 30° of separation between angles, and 30 s per image, requiring a total imaging time of approximately 3 min. Images were reconstructed using iterative ordered-subset expectation maximization. Before use in a patient-care setting, various FASpecT/CT acquisition protocols were modeled using a phantom to determine the minimum number of stops and the stop duration required to produce a reliable image. Results: FASpecT/CT images provided excellent 3-dimensional localization of spine osteomyelitis, soft-tissue infection of the foot, and tendonitis of the hand and foot using a 3-min image acquisition time. The FASpecT/CT acquisition protocol required 1.3-3.5 min, including camera movement time. This was a reduction of 72%-90% from the time required for the standard 60-angle, 20-s SPECT/CT acquisition. Conclusion: The ability of FASpecT/CT blood pool images to help localize focal sites of hyperemia and inflammation can increase exam sensitivity and specificity. Additionally, using a FASpecT/CT protocol decreases imaging time by up to 90%.

Abstract
Recently, radiolabelled antagonists targeting somatostatin receptors subtype 2 (SST2) in neuroendocrine neoplasms demonstrated certain superior properties over agonists. Within the ERA-PerMED project "TECANT" two 99mTc-Tetramine (N4)-derivatized SST2 antagonists (TECANT-1 and TECANT-2) were studied for the selection of the best candidate for clinical translation. Receptor-affinity, internalization and dissociation studies were performed in human embryonic kidney-293 (HEK293) cells transfected with the human SST2 (HEK-SST2). Log D, protein binding and stability in human serum were assessed. Biodistribution and SPECT/CT studies were carried out in nude mice bearing HEK-SST2 xenografts, together with dosimetric estimations from mouse-to-man. [99mTc]Tc-TECANT-1 showed higher hydrophilicity and lower protein binding than [99mTc]-TECANT-2, while stability was comparable. Both radiotracers revealed similar binding affinity, while [99mTc]Tc-TECANT-1 had higher cellular uptake (>50%, at 2 h/37 °C) and lower dissociation rate (<30%, at 2 h/37 °C). In vivo, [99mTc]Tc-TECANT-1 showed lower blood values, kidney and muscles uptake, whereas tumour uptake was comparable to [99mTc]Tc-TECANT-2. SPECT/CT imaging confirmed the biodistribution results, providing the best tumour-to-background image contrast for [99mTc]Tc-TECANT-1 at 4 h post-injection (p.i.). The estimated radiation dose amounted to approximately 6 µSv/MBq for both radiotracers. This preclinical study provided the basis of selection of [99mTc]Tc-TECANT-1 for clinical translation of the first 99mTc-based SST2 antagonist.

Pelvic lymphatic leakage and lower extremity lymphedema are well-known complications of pelvic surgery or radiation therapy. We report a cervical carcinoma patient who, after hysterectomy and lymphadenectomy, developed concomitant lymphedema of the left lower extremity and a pelvic lymphatic leak identified on lymphoscintigraphy and SPECT/CT.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Infra-cardiac tracer activity due to persistent hepatic activity interferes in inferior and infero-septal wall assessment during 99mTc-MIBI SPECT/CT myocardial perfusion scintigraphy (MPS) in evaluation of patients with coronary artery disease. It affects image interpretation with increased study duration. Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) is known to enhance hepatic excretion of bilirubin and bile salts, though its role in enhancing the hepatic tracer clearance in facilitating cardiac imaging is not known. METHODS This prospective, randomized double-blind, placebo controlled clinical trial of 120 patients, referred for adenosine stress or viability MPS studies were randomized 1:1 to receive either UDCA or placebo. Outcome was quantitative & qualitative improvement in imaging for better interpretation and to reduce the waiting time for scan. RESULTS 118 participants (59 ± 11.9 years; 84 men) underwent adenosine stress MPS or viability MPS. Sixty participants had UDCA while 58 had placebo intervention. The study showed significant decrease in liver counts with improved myocardial to liver ratio at 30 and 60 minutes in adenosine stress MPS group, and marginally significant alteration in liver counts at 60 minutes in viability MPS group receiving UDCA, resulting in better images. CONCLUSION UDCA intervention in MPS provides early and better image due to faster hepatic tracer clearance.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The underestimation of renal depth by Tønnesen formula in Gates' method, which has been confirmed by many scholars, leads to the underestimation of both separate glomerular filtration rate (gSGFR) and total glomerular filtration rate (gTGFR). This study aimed to establish the normal reference ranges of renal depth-calibrated gTGFR and gSGFR in Chinese healthy adults, and to analyze the influencing factors. METHODS Renal depth was measured by CT scan followed by technetium 99m-diethylene triamine pentaacetic acid (99mTc-DTPA) renal dynamic imaging by single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT) in 329 living kidney donors. The renal depth-calibrated gTGFR and gSGFR were calculated by Gates' method with renal depth measured by CT instead of being calculated by the Tønnesen formula. A general linear model based on age, gender, body height, body weight, and BMI was used to analyze factors influencing gSGFR (L), gSGFR (R) and gTGFR. RESULTS The average gSGFR (L), gSGFR (R), and gTGFR for patients aged 23-64 years old were 49.3±10.1, 49.9±10.4, and 99.1±18.7 mL/min/1.73 m2, respectively. The gSGFR (L), gSGFR (R) and gTGFR for patients aged 41-50 years old were 26.9-69.3, 27.7-68.8, and 57.5-135.3 mL/min/1.73 m2, respectively, and those for patients aged 51-60 years old were 31.0-61.5, 29.5-63.3, and 64.6-120.7 mL/min/1.73 m2, respectively. gSGFR (L), gSGFR (R) and gTGFR had statistical significance with body height and age (P<0.05); however, there was no significant difference with gender, body weight, and BMI (P>0.05). For each 1 year increase in age, the gSGFR (L), gSGFR (R), and gTGFR decreased by 0.17, 0.28, and 0.44 mL/min/1.73 m2, respectively, while for every 1 cm increase in body height, the gSGFR (L), gSGFR (R), and gTGFR decreased by 0.37, 0.36, and 0.74 mL/min/1.73 m2, respectively. CONCLUSIONS Normal reference ranges for renal depth-calibrated gSGFR (L), gSGFR (R), and gTGFR were established in healthy Chinese adults aged 23-64 years, and gSGFR (L), gSGFR (R), and gTGFR decreased with age and body height.

Abstract
PURPOSE A major challenge for accurate quantitative SPECT imaging of some radionuclides is the inadequacy of simple energy window-based scatter estimation methods, widely available on clinic systems. A deep learning approach for SPECT/CT scatter estimation is investigated as an alternative to computationally expensive Monte Carlo (MC) methods for challenging SPECT radionuclides, such as 90Y. METHODS A deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) was trained to separately estimate each scatter projection from the measured 90Y bremsstrahlung SPECT emission projection and CT attenuation projection that form the network inputs. The 13-layer deep architecture consisted of separate paths for the emission and attenuation projection that are concatenated before the final convolution steps. The training label consisted of MC-generated "true" scatter projections in phantoms (MC is needed only for training) with the mean square difference relative to the model output serving as the loss function. The test data set included a simulated sphere phantom with a lung insert, measurements of a liver phantom, and patients after 90Y radioembolization. OS-EM SPECT reconstruction without scatter correction (NO-SC), with the true scatter (TRUE-SC) (available for simulated data only), with the DCNN estimated scatter (DCNN-SC), and with a previously developed MC scatter model (MC-SC) were compared, including with 90Y PET when available. RESULTS The contrast recovery (CR) vs. noise and lung insert residual error vs. noise curves for images reconstructed with DCNN-SC and MC-SC estimates were similar. At the same noise level of 10% (across multiple realizations), the average sphere CR was 24%, 52%, 55%, and 67% for NO-SC, MC-SC, DCNN-SC, and TRUE-SC, respectively. For the liver phantom, the average CR for liver inserts were 32%, 73%, and 65% for NO-SC, MC-SC, and DCNN-SC, respectively while the corresponding values for average contrast-to-noise ratio (visibility index) in low-concentration extra-hepatic inserts were 2, 19, and 61, respectively. In patients, there was high concordance between lesion-to-liver uptake ratios for SPECT reconstruction with DCNN-SC (median 4.8, range 0.02-13.8) compared with MC-SC (median 4.0, range 0.13-12.1; CCC = 0.98) and with 90Y PET (median 4.9, range 0.02-11.2; CCC = 0.96) while the concordance with NO-SC was poor (median 2.8, range 0.3-7.2; CCC = 0.59). The trained DCNN took ~ 40 s (using a single i5 processor on a desktop computer) to generate the scatter estimates for all 128 views in a patient scan, compared to ~ 80 min for the MC scatter model using 12 processors. CONCLUSIONS For diverse 90Y test data that included patient studies, we demonstrated comparable performance between images reconstructed with deep learning and MC-based scatter estimates using metrics relevant for dosimetry and for safety. This approach that can be generalized to other radionuclides by changing the training data is well suited for real-time clinical use because of the high speed, orders of magnitude faster than MC, while maintaining high accuracy.

Abstract
Background: Current diagnosis of Transthyretin-related Amyloidosis (ATTR) using bone scintigraphy is primarily based on visual scoring and semi-quantitative indices. With the introduction of new potential life-prolonging drugs for ATTR, a more precise quantification of myocardial amyloid burden is desirable for improved response prediction and therapy monitoring. Methods: At first, quantification experiments using an anthropomorphic thorax phantom were performed. Second, 32 patients underwent both planar whole body [99mTc]- 3,3-Diphosphono-1,2-Propanodicarboxylic Acid (DPD)-scintigraphy and quantitative Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography/Computed Tomography (SPECT/CT) of the thorax. SPECT/CT standardized myocardial uptake values SUVpeak and SUVpeak normalized to bone uptake (nSUVpeak) were determined. Results: Phantom measurements showed a strong linear relationship between the activity in the myocardial insert and the measured activity (r = 0.9998, p = 0.01), but the measured activity was systematically underestimated by approximately 30%. Receiver operating characteristics (ROC) analysis revealed a 100% sensitivity and specificity at a cut-off of 3.1 for SUVpeak for the differentiation of both patient groups. Conclusion: SUV quantification of ATTR amyloid burden is feasible using novel SPECT/CT technology. With a SUVpeak cut-off of 3.1, patients with Perugini grade 2 and 3 could be clearly separated from those with Perugini grade 0 and 1. Besides ATTR diagnostics, quantification of amyloid deposits could potentially be used for therapy monitoring and prognostication in patients with cardiac ATTR.

Tc-99m-methoxyisobutyl isonitrile (sestamibi) planar imaging showed a focus of uptake over the inferior aspect of the right submandibular gland that was localized on the single-photon emission computed tomography with CT.

Abstract
Orbital cavernous hemangioma is the most common primary tumor in the orbit. With the development of histopathology, it has been confirmed that cavernous hemangioma is not a real tumor, but a special type of vascular malformation. Cavernous hemangioma malformation(CVM) is a more appropriate way to name it. At present, surgical resection is the main treatment for CVMs. The prognosis of the surgery mainly depends on the location and the size of the lesion as well as its relationship with the optic nerve. Therefore, effective imaging information is of great importance. This paper analyzes the radiological imaging characteristics and the advantages and disadvantages between them, including ultrasound, CT, MRI, and SPECT/CT imaging of CVMs, hoping to help improve our understanding of CVMs.

Abstract
Paget’s disease is a chronic benign bone disease characterized by excessive and abnormal bone remodeling. Monostotic Paget’s disease accounts for only 20% of the cases, and the monostotic form involving the vertebra with the Mickey Mouse sign is very rare. Herein, we report a case of suspected bony metastasis in the second lumbar vertebra that was diagnosed as Paget’s disease because of the Mickey Mouse sign on bone scintigraphy, and the diagnosis was confirmed by biopsy. Therefore, bone scintigraphy may provide a positive contribution to the diagnosis, and may help to avoid unnecessary biopsy in cases with specific signs and patterns.

Abstract
Purpose This study aims at determining lung distribution of gadolinium-based polysiloxane nanoparticles, AGuIX® (small rigid platform - SRP), as a potential theranostic approach by the pulmonary route. Methods First, the aerodynamic size distribution and the aerosol output rate were thoroughly characterized. Then, a multimodal approach using magnetic resonance (MR) and gamma-camera (GC) imaging allows to assess the deposition of the aerosolised nanoparticles in the respiratory tract using isolated ventilated porcine lungs. Results The SRP has proven to be radiolabelled by radioisotope with a good yield. Crude SRP or radiolabelled ones showed the same aerodynamic size distribution and output as a conventional molecular tracer, as sodium fluoride. With MR and GC imaging approaches, the nebulised dose represented about 50% of the initial dose of nanoparticles placed in the nebuliser. Results expressed as proportions of the deposited aerosol showed approximately a regional aerosol deposition of 50% of the deposited dose in the lungs and 50% in the upper airways. Each technique assessed a homogeneous pattern of deposited nanoparticles in Lungs. MR observed a strong signal enhancement with the SRP, similar to the one obtained with a commonly used MRI contrast agent, gadoterate meglumine. Conclusion As a known theranostic approach by intravenous administration, SRP appeared to be easily aerosolised with a conventional nebuliser. The present work proves that pulmonary administration of SRP is feasible in a human-like model and allows multimodal imaging with MR and GC imaging. This work presents the proof of concept of SRP nebulisation and aims to generate preclinical data for the potential clinical transfer of SRP for pulmonary delivery.

Abstract
Clinical problems in the human spine are still common in our society, often causing pain and can also limit movement. Back pain is a very common clinical entity, although difficult to diagnose due to its multifactorial nature. There are multiple processes that can alter the structure of the spine, injure vertebrae and/or the surrounding tissue. For the study of the spine, image diagnosis is essential, and within this, molecular hybrid techniques play an important role by providing us with an image of functional and morphological fusion. Among these, SPECT/CT is key in the diagnosis of traumatic and stress pathology, allowing us to locate hidden vertebral fractures, and is also very useful in degenerative and post-surgical pathology. On the other hand, PET/CT with 18F-FDG also plays an important role in the management and monitoring of infectious and oncological processes. This review describes the application of these hybrid techniques in the different pathologies of the spine and the findings of their images, being very useful for the diagnostic assessment and therapeutic management of the patient.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study was designed to review the diagnostic yield of single photon emission computed tomography-computed tomography (SPECT/CT) in children with complex foot/ankle pain. METHODS We reviewed the records of 33 patients with complex foot and ankle pain referred for SPECT/CT (36 scans) performed between 1st September 2009 to 30th September 2019. All patients had foot and ankle radiographs and 18 out of 33 patients had undergone magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) prior to SPECT/CT. The diagnostic contribution of SPECT/CT was established at the time of the scan during a multi-disciplinary team meeting. RESULTS The patients' mean age was 13.4 years (range six to 16.5 years) and 58% were female. In total, 18 patients had undergone previous surgical treatment. SPECT/CT was found to have decisive clinical value compared with radiographs and CT/MRI in 28 out of 36 cases. In ten patients it prompted surgical management (coalition excision, arthrodesis), in seven patients it redirected conservative management, in six patients it excluded other pathology and in five patients it showed additional/unexpected focal areas of mechanical stress, thus avoiding surgery. When compared with MRI, SPECT/CT added further clinical information in 13 out of 18 cases. SPECT/CT added decisive clinical value in five out of five patients with accessory ossicles, eight out of nine patients with tarsal coalition, five out of seven patients with surgically treated Congenital Talipes Equinovarus (CTEV) and four out of five patients with neuromuscular feet. In eight out of 36 cases SPECT/CT confirmed the diagnosis without adding significant information. CONCLUSIONS SPECT/CT can identify foci of active mechanical stress at cortical bone level in children with unexplained complex foot and ankle pain, particularly in the multiply operated foot, accessory ossicles and tarsal coalitions. Abstract
BACKGROUND The SMARTZOOM multifocal collimator from Siemens Healthcare was developed to improve the γ-photon sensitivity in myocardial perfusion imaging without truncating the field of view. As part of the IQ-SPECT package, it may be used to reduce radiopharmaceutical dose to patients, as well as acquisition time. The aim of this study was twofold: (1) to evaluate the influence of dose reduction in semi-automated MPI scoring, with focus on different strategies for the choice of normal data (count-matched, full-count), and (2) to evaluate the effect of dose reduction afforded by Siemens' IQ-SPECT package. METHODS 50 patients underwent Tc-99m-sestamibi one-day stress/rest SPECT/CT. Multiple levels of count reduction were generated using binomial thinning. Using Corridor 4DM, summed stress score (SSS) was calculated using either count-matched or full-count normal data. Studies were classified as low-risk (SSS < 4) or intermediate/high-risk (SSS ≥ 4). RESULTS Count reduction using count-matched normal data increases false-normal rate and decreases sensitivity. With full-count normal data, count reduction increases false-hypoperfusion rate, leading to decreased specificity. Altogether, rate of reclassification was significant at roughly 67% dose and below. CONCLUSION Significant bias results from count level of normal data relative to actual patient data. Compared to standard LEHR, IQ-SPECT should allow for significant dose reduction.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE. Diagnosing brain tumor recurrence, especially with changes that occur after treatment, is a challenge. MRI has an exceptional structural resolution, which is important from the perspective of treatment planning. However, its reliability in diagnosing recurrence is relatively lower, when compared to metabolic imaging. The latter is more sensitive to the early changes associated with recurrence and relatively immune to confounding by treatment related changes. CONCLUSION. There is no one-stop shop for the diagnosis of recurrence in brain tumors. The sensitivity of metabolic imaging is not a substitute for the resolution of the MRI, making a multi-modal approach the only way forward.

Abstract
This study evaluates quantitative combined single photon emission tomography/computed x-ray tomography (SPECT/CT) to assess the influence of radiotracer concentration on detection of sentinel lymph nodes (SLN) in endometrial cancer (EC). Eighty EC patients underwent pericervical 99m-Tc-nanocolloid injection followed by SPECT/CT. The subgroup of patients with failed SLN detection in SPECT/CT (n = 20) was compared to match-paired patients showing at least two SLNs. Results of intraoperative gamma probe measurements and quantitative SPECT/CT were used for comparison. In patients with detection failure, the percentage of injected dose, absolute activity, and volume of the injection site were significantly lower (30 ± 24% vs. 55 ± 19%; p = 0.01, 43 ± 36 MBq vs. 73 ± 33 MBq; p = 0.04, and 183 ± 164 mL vs. 266 ± 164 mL; p = 0.03) while mean activity concentration in liver, spleen, and bone marrow was significantly higher (p = 0.02). Activity concentration (>33 KBq/mL) and absolute activity (>73 MBq) of injection areas correlated with successful intraoperative SLN detection. In a subgroup of 19 SLNs, a correlation between SPECT/CT-derived uptake and intraoperative count rate was found (R2 = 0.8; p < 0.001). SLN detection in EC patients depended on high radiotracer activity at the cervical injection site. Quantitative SPECT/CT could predict successful intraoperative SLN detection and may help to optimize injection technique.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of our study was to evaluate the role of preoperative US, CEUS, and 99mTc-MIBI scanning with SPECT/CT in localizing diseased parathyroid glands in cases of refractory secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT). MATERIAL AND METHODS Using pathological results as the gold standard, we compared the operative findings with the preoperative localization of each modality in 73 nodules and evaluated the accuracy, and sensitivity of each modality and combinations of the four modalities. RESULTS The sensitivity of US, CEUS, 99mTc-MIBI and SPECT/CT was 98.59%, 94.37%, 50.70% and 78.87%, respectively. US had the highest sensitivity of the four imaging methods and the diagnostic sensitivity of US and CEUS was superior to that of 99mTc-MIBI (p < 0.001 and p < 0.001) and SPECT/CT (p = 0.001 and p = 0.012). In addition, we found that the sensitivity of the combination of US with CEUS, US with 99mTc-MIBI and/or SPECT/CT, CEUS with 99mTc-MIBI and/or SPECT/CT, US with CEUS and two other imaging modalities (99mTc-MIBI and/or SPECT/CT) was 98.59%, 100%, 95.77%, and 100%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS The combination of US with SPECT/CT is the best choice for the comprehensive preoperative localization of glands in refractory SHPT. CEUS can elevate the accuracy of US in differential diagnosis via the interpretation of dynamic microvascular features.

Abstract
This study aimed to dynamically monitor myocardial cell death using 99m Tc-Duramycin single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (micro-SPECT/CT) imaging in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and the anti-apoptosis effect of atorvastatin for cardioprotection. Mice were randomized into three groups: AMI group, AMI with atorvastatin treatment (T-AMI) group, and sham group. Three groups of model mice were randomly selected at day 1 (D1), day 3 (D3), and day 7 (D7) day after surgery with 99m Tc-Duramycin micro-SPECT/CT imaging. The lesion-to-normal myocardial tissue ratio (L/N) average values were 2.62 on D1, 3.89 on D3, and 1.20 on D7 for the uptake of 99m Tc-duramycin in the infarcted region in the AMI group. The sham group presented no positive imaging in myocardium, and the L/N average values were 1.09, 1.14, and 1.10 on D1, D3, and D7, respectively. Meanwhile, 99m Tc-linear-duramycin imaging showed no radioactive uptake in the infarction region. The T-AMI group imaging showed tracer uptake decreased obviously compared to the uptake in the infarcted region in AMI mice. 99m Tc-Duramycin SPECT/CT imaging allowed non-invasive monitoring of myocardial cell death in a mouse model of AMI and an assessment of atorvastatin anti-apoptosis effect for cardioprotection by in vivo molecular imaging.

Abstract
Peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) using radiolabeled somatostatin receptor (SSTR) analogs is a common approach in advanced neuroendocrine neoplasms. Recently, SSTR antagonists have shown promising results for imaging and therapy due to a higher number of binding sites than in commonly used agonists. We evaluated PRRT with SSTR agonist 177Lu-DOTATOC and antagonist 177Lu-DOTA-JR11 longitudinally in an orthotopic murine pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasm model expressing human SSTR2. Morphologic and metabolic changes during treatment were assessed using multimodal imaging, including hybrid PET/MRI and SPECT/CT. Methods: In vitro radioligand binding and internalization assays and cell-cycle analysis were performed. SSTR2-transfected BON cells (BON-SSTR2) were used for in vivo experiments. Tumor-bearing mice received 2 intravenous injections of 100 μL of saline, 30 MBq of 177Lu-DOTATOC, or 20 MBq of 177Lu-DOTA-JR11 with an interval of 3 wk. Weekly T2-weighted MRI was performed for tumor monitoring. Viability of the tumor tissue was assessed by 18F-FDG PET/MRI once after PRRT. Tumor and kidney uptake of the respective radiopharmaceuticals was measured 24 h after injection by SPECT/CT. Results: Compared with 177Lu-DOTATOC, 177Lu-DOTA-JR11 treatment resulted in an increased accumulation of cells in G2/M phase. Animals treated with the SSTR antagonist showed a significant reduction in tumor size (P < 0.001) and an increased median survival (207 d; interquartile range [IQR], 132-228) compared with 177Lu-DOTATOC (126 d; IQR, 118-129). SPECT/CT revealed a 4-fold higher median tumor uptake for the antagonist and a 3-fold higher tumor-to-kidney ratio in the first treatment cycle. During the second therapy cycle, tumor uptake of 177Lu-DOTATOC was significantly lower (P = 0.01) whereas 177Lu-DOTA-JR11 uptake remained stable. Imaging of tumor morphology indicated comparatively larger necrotic fractions for 177Lu-DOTA-JR11 despite further tumor growth. These results were confirmed by 18F-FDG PET, revealing the least amount of viable tumor tissue in 177Lu-DOTA-JR11-treated animals, at 6.2% (IQR, 2%-23%). Conclusion: 177Lu-DOTA-JR11 showed a higher tumor-to-kidney ratio and a more pronounced cytotoxic effect than did 177Lu-DOTATOC. Additionally, tumor uptake was more stable over the course of 2 treatment cycles.

Abstract
Diagnosing a peri-prosthetic joint infection (PJI) remains challenging despite the availability of a variety of clinical signs, serum and synovial markers, imaging techniques, microbiological and histological findings. Moreover, the one and only true definition of PJI does not exist, which is reflected by the existence of at least six different definitions by independent societies. These definitions are composed of major and minor criteria for defining a PJI, but most of them do not include imaging techniques. This paper highlights the pros and cons of available imaging techniques—X-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), bone scintigraphy, white blood cell scintigraphy (WBC), anti-granulocyte scintigraphy, and fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG-PET/CT), discusses the added value of hybrid camera systems—single photon emission tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT), PET/CT and PET/MRI and reports consensus answers on important clinical questions that were discussed during the Third European Congress on Inflammation/Infection Imaging in Rome, December 2019.

Abstract
PURPOSE The primary objectives of this systematic review and meta-analysis were to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of 99mTc-sestamibi SPECT/CT for detecting renal oncocytoma versus (1) all other renal lesions and (2) chromophobe renal cell carcinoma (ChrRCC) alone. METHODS A systematic review of MEDLINE, EMBASE, Scopus, the Cochrane Library, and the Gray Literature was performed. Original articles with > 5 patients evaluating oncocytomas versus other renal lesions with SPECT/CT using a pathological reference standard were included. Patient, clinical, imaging, and performance parameters were independently acquired by two reviewers. Meta-analysis was performed using a bivariate mixed-effects regression model. RESULTS Four articles with a total of 117 renal lesions were included in analysis. The pooled and weighted sensitivity and specificity values of 99mTc-sestamibi SPECT/CT for detecting (1) renal oncocytoma versus other renal lesions were 92% (95% CI 72-98%) and 88% (95% CI 79-94%), respectively, and (2) 89% and 67%, respectively, for renal oncocytoma versus ChrRCC. The specificity for the detecting the oncocytoma-ChrRCC spectrum was 96% (95% CI 84-99%). The sensitivity and specificity for detecting benign versus malignant renal lesions were 86% (95% CI 66-95%) and 90% (95% CI 80-95%), and 88% and 95% when HOCTs were characterized as benign. All reporting studies used a cut-off tumor-to-background renal parenchyma radiotracer uptake ratio of > 0.6 for positive studies. CONCLUSION 99mTc-sestamibi SPECT/CT demonstrates a high sensitivity and specificity for characterizing benign and low-grade renal lesions. This test can help improve the diagnostic confidence for patients with indeterminate renal masses being considered for active surveillance.
