Abstract
Iron oxychloride (FeOCl) is utilized as a activator of peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for the degradation of paracetamol (APAP) and phenacetin (PNCT) in response to the water pollution by persistent pharmaceuticals. The degradation process was well fitted with a pseudo-first order kinetic pattern, and the excellent catalytic performance towards APAP (100 % removal) and PNCT (86.5 % removal) was obtained in the presence of 0.2 g/L FeOCl and 2.0 mM PMS at pH 7.0 in 30 min. In-situ electron spin resonance (ESR) and scavenging tests revealed the generation of a series of ROS (·OH, SO4-, O2-, 1O2), which was highly dependent on pH. Besides, the non-radical pathways process involved 1O2 was dominant in APAP oxidation, while both ·OH and 1O2 are significant in PNCT removal. Furthermore, the formation of disinfection by-products (DBPs) during post-chlorination showed neglectable increment at neutral and alkaline condition with FeOCl/PMS pre-oxidation, and the calculated cytotoxicity would experience a continuous deterioration with pH increase. These results displayed high efficiency of FeOCl/PMS system in micropollutants degradation and a relatively comprehensive activation process of PMS, which may promote practical application in environmental remediation.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
Left ventricular dysfunction and ischaemic heart disease are common amongst women, however, women tend to present later and are less likely to receive guideline-directed medical therapy compared to their male counterparts.
Purpose
To investigate if a sex discrepancy exists for optimal medical therapy (OMT) and long-term mortality in a cohort of patients with known ischaemic heart disease (IHD) and left ventricular dysfunction.
Methods
We analysed prospectively collected data from a multicentre registry database collected between 2005–2018 on pharmacotherapy 30-days post percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in 13,015 patients with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) <50%. OMT at 30-days was defined as beta-blocker (BB), angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor/angiotensin receptor blocker (ACEi/ARB) ± mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (MRA). Long-term mortality was determined by linkage with the National Death Index, with median follow up of 4.7 (IQR 2.0–8.6) years.
Results
Mean age was 65±12 years; women represented 20.2% (2,634) of the cohort. Women were on average 5 years older, had higher average BMI, higher rates of hypertension, diabetes, renal dysfunction, prior stroke and rheumatoid arthritis. Men were more likely to have sleep apnoea, be current/ex-smokers and to have had prior myocardial infarction, PCI and bypass surgery. Overall, 72.3% (9,411) of patients were on OMT, which was similar between sexes (72.7% in women vs. 72.2% in men, p=0.58). Rates of BB therapy were similar between sexes (85.2% vs. 84.5%, p=0.38), while women were less likely to be on an ACEi/ARB (80.4% vs. 82.4%, p=0.02) and more likely to be on a MRA (12.1% vs. 10.0%, p=0.003). Amongst those with LVEF ≤35% (n=1,652), BB (88.7% vs. 87.3%, p=0.46), ACEi/ARB (83.3% vs. 82.1%, p=0.59) and MRA use (32.5% vs. 33.3%, p=0.78) was comparable. Aspirin use was similar between sexes (95.3% vs. 95.9%, p=0.12), while women were less likely to be on statin therapy (93.5% vs. 95.3%, p<0.001) and a second antiplatelet agent (94.4% vs. 95.6%, p=0.007). On unadjusted analysis women had significantly higher long-term mortality of 25.4% compared to 19.0% for men (p<0.001). Kaplan-Meier analysis out to 14 years demonstrated that men on OMT have the best long-term survival overall and women on sub-OMT have significantly poorer outcomes compared to men on sub-OMT. However, after adjusting for OMT and other comorbidities there was no difference in long-term mortality between sexes (HR 0.99, 95% CI 0.87–1.14, p=0.94).
Conclusion
From this large multicentre registry, we found similar rates of guideline-directed pharmacotherapy for left ventricular dysfunction between sexes, however women were less likely to be on appropriate IHD secondary prevention. The increased unadjusted long-term mortality amongst women is likely due to differing baseline risk, given that adjusted mortality was similar between sexes.

Abstract
Light-emitting diode (LED) is environmentally friendly with longer life compared with traditionally mercury lamps. This study investigated the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)- phenacetin (PNT) and acetaminophen (ACT)- removal during LED-UV (365 nm) photolysis of free available chlorine (FAC). Degradation of PNT and ACT during LED-UV365/FAC treatment at pH 5.5-8.5 followed the pseudo-first order kinetics. The presence of hydroxyl radicals (·OH), reactive chlorine species (RCS), and ozone (O3, transformed from O (3P)) were screened by using scavengers of ethanol (EtOH), tert-Butanol (TBA), and 3-buten-2ol, and 4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine (TEMP), and quantified by competition kinetics with probing compounds of nitrobenzene (NB), benzoate acid (BA), 1,4-dimethoxybenzene (DMOB). Higher pH would lead to decrease of ·OH contribution and an increase of FAC contribution to PNT and ACT degradation. It has been determined that the contribution of O3 to degradation of PNT and ACT was less than 5% for all pHs, and O3(P) reacts toward EtOH with second-order constant of 1.52 × 109 M-1s-1. LED-UV365/FAC system reduced the formation of five typical CX3-R type disinfection by-products (DBPs) as well as the cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of water samples at pH 5.5 and 8.5, compared with FAC alone. The decrease of DBPs formation resulted from fast FAC decomposition upon LED-UV365 irradiation. A feasible reaction pathway of DBPs formation in the LED-UV365/FAC system was examined with density functional theory (DFT). For FAC decay during LED-UV365/FAC with effluent from wastewater, the residual FAC in 15 min was 0.8 mg/L (lower than limit of 0.2 mg/L) once initial FAC was 2.0 mg/L. The results indicate that more tests on the balance of target pollutant removal efficiency, residual FAC and cost should be explored in LED-UV365/FAC system for application.

Abstract
With the development of analytical technology, more emerging disinfection by-products (DBPs) have been identified and detected. Among them, aromatic DBPs, especially heterocyclic DBPs, possess relatively high toxicity compared with regulated DBPs, which has been proved by bioassays. Thus, the occurrence of aromatic DBPs is of great concern. This article provides a comprehensive review and summary of the characteristics, occurrence, transformation pathways and control of aromatic DBPs. Aromatic DBPs are frequently detected in drinking water, wastewater and swimming pool water, among which swimming pool water illustrates highest concentration. Considering the relatively high concentration and toxicity, halophenylacetonitriles (HPANs) and halonitrophenols (HNPs) are more likely to be toxicity driver among frequently detected phenyl DBPs. Aromatic DBPs can be viewed as important intermediate products of dissolved organic matter (DOM) during chlor(am)ination. High molecular weight DOM could convert to aromatic DBPs via direct or indirect pathways, and they can further decompose into regulated aliphatic DBPs such as trihalomethanes (THMs) and haloacetic acids (HAAs) by ring opening and side chain cleavage. Even though no single DBPs control strategy is efficient to all aromatic DBPs, the decrease of overall toxicity may be achieved by several methods including absorption, solar radiation and boiling. By systematically considering aromatic DBPs and aliphatic DBPs, a better trade-off can be made to reduce health risk induced by DBPs.

Abstract
Peroxymonosulfate (PMS) was employed as an activator of ozone (O3) to degrade non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (aspirin (ASA) and phenacetin (PNT)) in study. The combination of PMS in O3 system promoted the O3 decomposition and NSAIDs removal significantly. O3 molecule, hydroxyl radical (OH) and sulfate radical (SO4-) were responsible for the removal of target pollutants in O3/PMS system. The second-rate constants between O3, OH and SO4- with ASA were determined to be 7.32, 4.18 × 109 and 3.46 × 108 M-1·s-1, and 37.3, 4.99 × 109 and 5.64 × 108 M-1·s-1 for PNT, respectively. The pattern of pollutant removal and contributions of oxidative species were fitted by experiments and two models. Nevertheless, the wide variety of two models suggested that a comprehensive model for O3/PMS based on a first-principles approach was not yet possible, due to the number of radicals and subsequent chain reaction, such as SO5- or O3-. In addition, the formation of five typical CX3R -type disinfection by products was evaluated from post‑chlorine tests and theoretically calculation by frontier electron density calculation. The calculated toxicity of typical CX3R -type DBPs was found to decrease with the increase of pH. The results of this study provide a basis for exploring the mechanism of pollutant degradation in O3 system.

Abstract
A relative humidity sensor based on a graphene oxide-coated few-mode fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) is proposed in this paper. The MZI was made by splicing a segment of the few-mode fiber (FMF) between two segments of a no-core fiber (NCF) and two segments of a single mode fiber (SMF) located outside the two NCFs. The core and cladding of the FMF acted as interferometric arms, while the NCFs acted as couplers for splitting and recombining light due to mismatch of mode field diameter. The cladding of the FMF was corroded with hydrofluoric acid, and a layer of graphene oxide (GO) film was coated on the corroded cladding of FMF via the natural deposition method. The refractive index of GO varied upon absorption the water molecules. As a result, the phase difference of the MZI varied and the wavelength of the resonant dip shifted with a change in the ambient relative humidity (RH). High humidity sensitivity of 0.191 and 0.061 nm/%RH in the RH range of 30-55% and 55-95%, respectively, were achieved experimentally. The high sensitivity, compact size, and simple manufacturing of the proposed sensor could offer attractive applications in fields of chemical sensors and biochemical detection.

Abstract
The data presented here were collected from a commercial LG Chem cylindrical INR18650 MJ1 lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery (approximate nominal specifications: 3.5 Ah, 3.6 V, 12.2 Wh). Electrochemical and microstructural information is presented, the latter collected across several length scales using X-ray computed tomography (CT): from cell to particle. One cell-level tomogram, four assembly-level and two electrode/particle-level 3D datasets are available; all data was collected in the pristine state. The electrochemical data consists of the full current and voltage charge-discharge curves for 400 operational cycles. All data has been made freely available via a repository [10.5522/04/c.4994651] in order to aid in the development of improved computational models for commercially-relevant Li-ion battery materials.

Abstract
STUDY QUESTION Are melatonin receptors (melatonin receptor 1A (MR1A) and melatonin receptor 1B (MR1B)) expressed in human endometrium and endometriotic tissue, and does melatonin affect endometrial cell proliferation? SUMMARY ANSWER Melatonin receptors are expressed in human eutopic endometrium, endometriomas and peritoneal lesions, although to different extents, and melatonin treatment attenuated estradiol-induced endometrial epithelial cell proliferation in culture. WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADY Melatonin decreased endometriotic lesion volume in a rat model of endometriosis. Melatonin treatment reduced pain scores in and analgesic use by women with endometriosis. STUDY DESIGN, SIZE, DURATION Basic science study using human endometrial tissue and an endometrial epithelial cell line. PARTICIPANTS/MATERIALS, SETTING, METHODS Measurement of melatonin receptor expression (mRNA and protein) in women with surgically confirmed endometriosis (endometrioma (n = 20) or peritoneal lesion (n = 11) alone) and women without surgical evidence of endometriosis (control, n = 15). Collection of endometrial and endometriotic tissue samples, gynecologic history and demographic information. Quantification of estradiol (1.0 nM) and melatonin (0.1 nM-1.0 μM) ± estradiol-induced endometrial epithelial cell proliferation in cultures of endometrial epithelial cells (CRL-1671) following 24 and 48 hours of culture. MAIN RESULTS AND THE ROLE OF CHANCE MR1A and MR1B were localized by immunohistochemistry in glandular epithelial cells of endometrial biopsies from women with and without endometriosis. Both receptors were expressed in eutopic and ectopic endometrial tissue. mRNA expression of MR1A and MR1B was significantly greater in peritoneal lesions than in either endometriomas or eutopic endometrium. However, protein expression of MR1A was decreased in peritoneal lesions compared to control eutopic endometrium, whereas MR1B expression did not differ between the groups. Melatonin (0.1 nM-1.0 μM) treatment inhibited estradiol (1.0 nM)-induced endometrial epithelial cell proliferation at 48 hours but not 24 hours of culture. LIMITATIONS, REASONS FOR CAUTION Beneficial effects of melatonin seen in culture have yet to be comprehensively evaluated in women with endometriosis. WIDER IMPLICATIONS OF THE FINDINGS Our data suggest that melatonin may be useful as an adjunct to current endometriosis treatments. Abstract
As a newly epidemic, 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) with a concentrated outbreak poses a great challenge to medical treatment. The severe and critical patients are complex complicatied with the psychological problems, and the medical staff are overworked and under tremendous psychological pressure. The surgeon participated in emergency medical rescue could provide professional treatment for the patients combined with surgical diseases, as well as specialized training for the non-surgeon crew, to reduce surgical-related mortality. With the advantages of good team consciousness, strong aseptic concept and good psychological quality, the surgeons can quickly adapt to and carry out rescue work under the premise of good self-protection. Surgeons need to develop critical care management concepts and focus on the critical care support equipment. Some suggestions are put forward for the standardized training of resident surgeons to cultivate compound talents. It is hoped that this article can lead to the thinking of how to participate in the emergency medical rescue of infectious diseases among surgeons and provide some enlightenment for future surgical education.

Abstract
Background:Sleep problems are common in rheumatology patients. RAPID3 is a patient reported outcome measure (PROM) that efficiently screens for problems with sleep, anxiety or depression in routine care.Objectives:To study prevalence and determinants of self-reported sleep problems across rheumatic diseases in Rheumatology clinics in Singapore, and its correlation with disease indices.Methods:RAPID3 questionnaire was filled electronically over 6 months. Demographic data and SNOWMED diagnoses codes were matched through hospital electronic medical records. RAPID3 comprised of 3 questions measuring the extent of difficulty getting a good night’s sleep and dealing with anxiety or depression. Significant problems were considered if they had “much difficulty” or were “unable to do” the component. The relationship of sleep with anxiety, depression, physical function (measured by modified health assessment questionnaire, mdHAQ), pain and patient global assessment (using visual analogue scale, VAS), was evaluated using Pearson’s correlation. Factors associated with significant sleep problems were evaluated by logistic regression.Results:4078 patients [mean (SD) age 55.8 (16.3) years, 67.9% female, 70.6% Chinese] were invited to participate, of which 2625 (64.4%) responded. SNOMED diagnosis codes were available for 1570 (59.8%) patients- majority had inflammatory arthritides (n= 843, 53.7%) (Figure 1).Mean mdHAQ was 0.3 (0.5), pain VAS was 2.4 (2.3) and global VAS was 2.6 (2.2). Data on disease duration, clinical features and medications were not available. 39.3%, 27.5% and 23.8% had problems with sleep, anxiety and depression respectively; and 7.3%, 4.5% and 4.3% had significant problems respectively. Sleep moderately correlated with anxiety (r=0.463, p<0.001) and depression (r=0.436, p<0.001) and weakly correlated with mdHAQ (r= 0.289, p<0.001), global (r=0.339, p<0.001) and pain VAS (r= 0.314, p<0.001).In multivariable logistic regression, significant sleep problems were associated with anxiety (OR 4.733, CI 2.172-10.310, p<0.001), mdHAQ score ≥ 1 (OR 2.920, CI 1.691-5.043, p< 0.001) and pain VAS >3 (OR 1.884, CI 1.093-3.247, p=0.023). Abstract
This article reports the data required for planning attenuation-based X-ray characterisation e.g. X-ray computed tomography (CT), of lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery cathodes. The data reported here is to accompany a co-submitted manuscript (10.1016/j.matdes.2020.108585 [1]) which compares two well-known X-ray attenuation data sources: Henke et al. and Hubbell et al., and applies methodology reported by Reiter et al. to extend this data towards the practical characterisation of prominent cathode materials. This data may be used to extend beyond the analysis reported in the accompanying manuscript, and may aid in the applications for other materials, not limited to Li-ion batteries.

Abstract
Summary Hereditary angioedema (HAE) is a primary complement factor deficiency, characterized by recurrent submucosal/subcutaneous swelling episodes. SERPING1 gene defects encoding C1 esterase inhibitor (C1INH) are responsible from the disease. Fifteen patients with HAE are retrospectively evaluated in this study. All patients (n = 15) had HAE type I, 13 were from the same family, other two from two different families. Median age at onset of symptoms was 7 years (2-20); median age on diagnosis, 12 (0,5-41) and median delay in diagnosis, 3 years (0-33). Clinical symptoms were extremity edema(92,3%), facial edema(46%), abdominal pain (46%), genital edema (46%), and laryngeal edema (23%). Some patients suffered from recurrent abdominal pain, had been empirically given colchicine with familial mediterranean fever (FMF) when they admitted. One presented with bullous skin eruption, soon after developed extremity edema. Both resolved spontaneously after C1INH concentrate therapy. Two females suffered from recurrent genital edema after sexual activity. One patient experienced compartment syndrome-like swelling of extremity after playing football. One patient diagnosed with panic attack due to fear of death by asphyxiation, and was diagnosed with HAE disease. A nonsense mutation in exon 8, a missense mutation in exon 2 in SERPING1 gene was present in Family 1 and another patient (P14) from the other family, respectively. Sporadic/autosomal dominant inheritance ratio was 2/3 in the families present in our series. Patients with HAE presents with a large spectrum of symptoms. In mediterranean countries, patients with abdominal attacks may be misdiagnosed with FMF. Thus, health-care professionals should be alert, and put HAE in the first line of differential diagnoses when the disease symptoms are present. Consequently, morbidity/mortality will decrease with effective treatment options.

Abstract
Zanthoxyli Pericarpium (ZP) are the dried ripe peel of Zanthoxylum schinifolium Sieb. et Zucc (ZC) or Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim (ZB). It has wide range of uses both medicine and food, and favorable market value. The diverse specifications of components of ZP is exceptional, and the common aims of adulteration for economic profit is conducted. In this work, a novel method for the identification different species of ZP is proposed using convolutional neural networks (CNNs). The data used for the experiment is 5 classes obtained from camera and mobile phones. Firstly, the data considering 2 categories are trained to detect the labels by YOLO. Then, the multiple deep learning including VGG, ResNet, Inception v4, and DenseNet are introduced to identify the different species of ZP (HZB, DZB, OZB, ZA and JZC). In order to assess the performance of CNNs, compared with two traditional identification models including Support Vector Machines (SVM) and Back Propagation (BP). The experimental results demonstrate that the CNN model have a better performance to identify different species of ZP and the highest identification accuracy is 99.35%. The present study is proved to be a useful strategy for the discrimination of different traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs).

Abstract
A 71-year old retired missionary presented with a 2- week history of increasing dyspnoea, orthopnoea, and peripheral oedema. The patient had no previous significant past medical history. On clinical examination, his heart sounds were dual and his jugular venous pressure was elevated to 7cm. On chest auscultation there were bilateral crepitations at his lung bases.

Abstract
Constrictive pericarditis though an uncommon diagnosis is a potentially reversible form of heart failure (with surgical pericardiectomy) and hence is imperative to diagnose. Diagnosis is dependent on a high index of clinical suspicion and further testing with appropriate cardiac investigations including cardiac imaging with invasive cardiac catheterisation as the gold standard.

Background
Young adults with mildly elevated blood pressure are less likely to engage with physical activity. This may be because early hypertension alters myocardial response to moderate exercise, leading to greater perceived exertion and lower levels of enjoyment. As atrial and ventricular function are closely coupled we investigated whether subclinical atrial changes at rest may identify this myocardial response.
Purpose
To identify whether subclinical changes in left atrial function at rest predict response to exercise by performing left atrial deep-phenotyping in a cohort of young adults with a range of blood pressures.
Methods
Seventy-one full-term born young adults (25.25 ± 5.13 years) were enrolled in the Young Adult Cardiovascular Health sTudy (YACHT) to undergo baseline clinical and cardiovascular phenotyping including detailed blood pressure measurement. Cardiopulmonary exercise testing combined with echocardiography imaging was performed to assess the myocardial response to physical exercise at 40%, 60% and 80% of peak exercise load for all participants. Left ventricular ejection fraction and global longitudinal strain were measured from an apical four chamber view at each exercise load, and resting left atrial phasic function was assessed by conventional and speckle tracking echocardiography from apical four and two chamber views (figure 1).
Results
In this young cohort with a range of blood pressure (120.9 ± 12.96/70.85 ± 9.78 mmHg), resting left atrial reservoir and conduit function, but not left atrial structural measures, showed good correlation with left ventricular ejection fraction and global longitudinal strain during 40%, 60% and 80% of peak exercise. The association between resting left atrial conduit with left ventricular deformation at 60% of peak exercise intensity remained significant when adjusted for age, sex and mean arterial pressure (P = 0.007).
Conclusion
Left atrial phasic function at rest predicts left ventricular responses to physical exercise in this cohort of young adults, which may relate to early subclinical left atrial remodelling in early hypertension. These findings require validation in other cohorts and investigation of whether this exercise limitation can be overcome in young hypertensives.

Abstract
Magnetic nanocomposite β-alaninediacetic acid-modified Fe3O4 (β-ADA@Fe3O4) was prepared, characterized and evaluated to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for improved degradation of sulfadiazine (SD). The results reveal that β-ADA@Fe3O4 express more efficient catalytic activity in PMS inducement compared with Fe3O4, and the observed pseudo first rate constant (kobs) of SD degradation is enhanced from 1.05 × 10-2 to 7.02 × 10-2 min-1 when Fe3O4 is replaced by β-ADA@Fe3O4. The highest removal rate 54.0% occurs when [PMS]0 and m(β-ADA@Fe3O4)0 was 0.3 mM and 0.8 g/L at neutral pH. High intensity of hydroxyl radicals (OH) and relatively low intensity of sulfate radicals (SO4-) are distinguished in system by scavenging experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) tests. Results point that β-ADA would significantly promote the circulation of Fe2+-Fe3+ on the surface of β-ADA@Fe3O4, producing more radicals (OH, SO4-). The findings herein imply that β-ADA@Fe3O4 is an efficient and green catalyst in activation of peroxymonosulfate under neutral environment.

Abstract
In this paper, a splitting ratio-adjustable Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) for the measurement of relative humidity (RH) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The sensing head contains three sections of single mode fiber (SMF) and two sections of multimode fiber (MMF), in which the two MMFs are spliced among the three SMFs. The MMFs are corroded with hydrofluoric acid and act as mode couplers to split and recombine light owing to the core diameter mismatch with the SMF. A layer of graphene oxide (GO) is coated on the MMFs by dip-coating and natural evaporation. The effective refractive index of the GO will vary when it absorbs the water molecules. As a result, the intensity of the transmission light in the core and cladding of the single mode fiber can be adjusted. Thus, the intensity of the resonant dip will vary when the relative humidity changes. The experimental results show that a humidity sensitivity of 0.263 dB/RH% with a linear correlation coefficient of 99% can be achieved in a relative humidity range of 35% to 85%.

Abstract
A high-efficient, eco-friendly and applicable oxidant of percarbonate (SPC, Na2CO3·1.5H2O2) is applied as oxidant in ozonation (O3) process. In this work, coumarin (COU) decomposition by O3 and O3/SPC was proposed in terms of diverse parameters, including ozone concentration, SPC dosage and pH, with regard to the pseudo-first-order kinetic model. About 96.5% of 25 mg L-1 COU was removed by 209.3 mg L-1 SPC and 2.08 mg L-1 O3 within 30 min, whereas 49.8% of COU was exhausted in O3 system alone. High ozone concentration and pH could enhance COU removal, and overdose SPC has an inhibition effect as CO32- could react with ·OH. Furtherly, the generation of hydroxyl radicals (OH) via a chain reaction in O3 was ascertained based on indirect alcohols quenching tests and direct electron spin resonance (ESR) spin-trapping tests, though high initial SPC concentration led to no trapping of OH by 5,5-dimethyl-1-pyrroline-N-oxide (DMPO) in O3/SPC. According to the concentration of dissolved ozone and prior study, a fast reaction kinetic model was estimated firstly for O3/SPC system and well fitted with different condition. The hydroxylated intermediates of 7-hydroxylcoumarin and 6,7-hydroxylcoumarin were recognized and the degradation pathways were proposed. The findings of the study can broaden the research direction of SPC and provide a new application information for SPC in environmental pollution control.

Objective: To investigate the influence of conventional preoperative intestinal preparation and unplanned preparation on the visual field of pelvic organ prolapse repair surgery. Methods: The patients who underwent transvaginal pelvic organ prolapse repair surgery in Peking University People's Hospital from September 2017 to July 2018 were selected as the research objects except those who had undergone colorectal surgery and chronic constipation. The surgery doctor was blinded by intestinal preparation. There was no intestinal preparation in non intestinal preparation group and polyethylene glycol was taken orally in intestinal preparation group. The main outcome measures were the effect of intestinal contents on the surgical field, the presence of fecal leakage, and the nature and volume of fecal leakage. The standard of fecal contamination was: mild, less than 15 ml, moderate, 15-30 ml, and severe, >30 ml. Secondary indicators were patient satisfaction and symptoms of routine bowel preparation. Results: A total of 120 patients (60 cases of non intestinal preparation group, 60 cases of intestinal preparation group) were selected, including transvaginal hysterectomy, vaginal anterior or posterior colporrhaphy (some patients with anterior prolapse repair with mesh), sacrospinal ligament suspension, total colpectomy and colpocleisis, laparoscopic sacral colpopexy, anti-incontinence surgery. The median age of the patients in non intestinal preparation group was 62 years, and the median age of intestinal preparation group was 60 years. There were no significant differences in median age, anesthesia, operation method, blood loss, operation time and perioperative infection between the two groups (all P>0.05). Fecal contamination occurred in 10% (6/60) of the patients without intestinal preparation and 32% (19/60) of the patients with intestinal preparation (P=0.042). Comparing the two groups, 10% (6/60) of the patients with intestinal preparation had moderate and severe contamination, and the patients without intestinal preparation was only 2% (1/60), there was significant difference (P=0.017). In intestinal preparation group, nausea (8%, 5/60), vomiting (5%, 3/60), abdominal distension (22%, 13/60), fatigue (5%, 3/60) and palpitation (2%, 1/60) were higher than those in non intestinal preparation group. Conclusions: Intestinal preparation with oral laxatives before pelvic organ prolapse repair surgery is not beneficial to the cleaning of the surgical field and increases the discomfort of intestinal preparation. It is safe and feasible for most patients with pelvic organ prolapse to perform pelvic organ prolapse repair surgery without intestinal preparation.

Aim
This study aimed to develop a nomogram based on clinicopathological features to evaluate the recurrence probability of breast phyllodes tumors following surgery. The criteria for atypia, mitoses, overgrowth, and surgical margin (AMOS) were also validated.
Method
Data from 334 patients with breast phyllodes tumors, who underwent surgical treatment at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital from January 2005 to December 2014, were used to develop a prediction model. Additionally, data of 36 patients from Peking University Shenzhen Hospital and data of 140 patients from Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center during the same period were used to validate the model. The medical records and tumor slides were retrospectively reviewed. The log-rank and Cox regression tests were used to develop a clinical prediction model of breast phyllodes tumors as well as validating the AMOS criteriaAll statistical analyses were performed using R and STATA.
Results
Of all 334 patients included in the study, 224 had benign, 91 had borderline, and 19 had malignant tumors. The local and distant recurrence rate was 17.7%. The 1-,3-, and 5-year cumulative recurrence-free survival was 98.5%, 97.9%, and 96.8%, respectively. Surgical margin, mitoses, and tumor border were identified as independent risk factors for breast phyllodes tumors. A nomogram was developed based on these three variables. The C-index of internal and external validation was 0.71and 0.67, respectively. The area under the curve of AMOS criteria was 0.59.
Conclusions
The present study model presented a more concise and objective variables to evaluate the recurrence-free survival of patients after surgery compared with that using the AMOS criteria, which is more appropriate for clinical practice and also allows for a more accurate prediction.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The study aimed to identify the factors associated with the sexual lives of perimenopausal and postmenopausal women in China. METHODS A total of 426 participants were approached about this study from May 2012 to August 2013. In total, 252 cases were included in this study. One hundred and ninety-seven women who filled out the Quality of Sexual Life Questionnaire for Women (QSLQW) and the modified Kupperman Menopausal Index (KMI) had an active sexual life. Pearson's coefficient index was used to determine the correlation between the KMI and different domains of the QSLQW. Multivariable statistical analysis was performed to determine the correlation between different factors and the sexual life of perimenopausal and postmenopausal women. RESULTS When the participants reported a higher KMI, they suffered lower sexual satisfaction (r = -0.16, p = 0.035), more severe sexual anxiety (r = -0.367, p = 4.9 × 10-7), and less sexual response (r = -0.21, p = 0.004). No correlation was found between the KMI and sexual communication, sexual attitude, and self-image. Multivariable statistical analysis showed that menopause status and higher KMI scores are associated with a decrease in sexual satisfaction among Chinese women (β = -9.76, 95% CI -16.89 to -2.64 and β = -0.41, 95% CI -0.68 to -0.15, respectively), and that the better the spousal relationship, the fewer deliveries and the higher the scores of sexual life quality (β = 8.86, 95% CI -0.91 to 18.63 and β = -6.65, 95% CI -11.83 to -1.48, respectively). CONCLUSION Factors including parity, spousal relationship, menopausal status, and menopausal symptoms are associated with the quality of sexual life of perimenopausal and postmenopausal women in China.
