Abstract
We report on the first measurement of charm-strange meson D_{s}^{±} production at midrapidity in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV from the STAR experiment. The yield ratio between strange (D_{s}^{±}) and nonstrange (D^{0}) open-charm mesons is presented and compared to model calculations. A significant enhancement, relative to a pythia simulation of p+p collisions, is observed in the D_{s}^{±}/D^{0} yield ratio in Au+Au collisions over a large range of collision centralities. Model calculations incorporating abundant strange-quark production in the quark-gluon plasma and coalescence hadronization qualitatively reproduce the data. The transverse-momentum integrated yield ratio of D_{s}^{±}/D^{0} at midrapidity is consistent with a prediction from a statistical hadronization model with the parameters constrained by the yields of light and strange hadrons measured at the same collision energy. These results suggest that the coalescence of charm quarks with strange quarks in the quark-gluon plasma plays an important role in D_{s}^{±}-meson production in heavy-ion collisions.

Abstract
The Breit-Wheeler process which produces matter and antimatter from photon collisions is experimentally investigated through the observation of 6085 exclusive electron-positron pairs in ultraperipheral Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV. The measurements reveal a large fourth-order angular modulation of cos4Δϕ=(16.8±2.5)% and smooth invariant mass distribution absent of vector mesons (ϕ, ω, and ρ) at the experimental limit of ≤0.2% of the observed yields. The differential cross section as a function of e^{+}e^{-} pair transverse momentum P_{⊥} peaks at low value with sqrt[⟨P_{⊥}^{2}⟩]=38.1±0.9 MeV and displays a significant centrality dependence. These features are consistent with QED calculations for the collision of linearly polarized photons quantized from the extremely strong electromagnetic fields generated by the highly charged Au nuclei at ultrarelativistic speed. The experimental results have implications for vacuum birefringence and for mapping the magnetic field which is important for emergent QCD phenomena.

Abstract
The high prevalence of malocclusion and dentofacial malformations means that the demand for orthodontic treatments has been increasing rapidly. As the biological basis of orthodontic treatment, the mechanism of mechanical force-induced alveolar bone remodeling during orthodontic tooth movement (OTM) has become the key scientific issue of orthodontics. It has been demonstrated that bone mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) are crucial for bone remodeling and exhibit mechanical sensing properties. Mechanical force can promote osteoblastic differentiation of BMSCs and osteogenesis, but the key factor that mediates mechanical force-induced osteogenesis during OTM remains unclear. In this study, by performing reverse-phase protein arrays on BMSCs exposed to mechanical force, we found that the expression level of forkhead box O3 (FOXO3) was significantly upregulated during the mechanical force-induced osteoblastic differentiation of BMSCs. The number of FOXO3-positive cells was consistently higher on the OTM side as compared with the control side and accompanied by the enhancement of osteogenesis. Remarkably, inhibiting FOXO3 with repaglinide delayed OTM by severely impairing mechanical force-induced bone formation in vivo. Moreover, knockdown of FOXO3 effectively inhibited the mechanical force-induced osteoblastic differentiation of BMSCs, whereas the overexpression of FOXO3 enhanced this effect. Mechanistically, we revealed a novel regulatory model in which FOXO3 promoted osteocalcin transcription by activating its promoter in cooperation with runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2). We collectively obtained the first evidence that FOXO3 is critical for OTM, where it responds to mechanical force and directly regulates downstream osteoblastic differentiation in an efficient manner.

Abstract
Global polarization of Ξ and Ω hyperons has been measured for the first time in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV. The measurements of the Ξ^{-} and Ξ[over ¯]^{+} hyperon polarization have been performed by two independent methods, via analysis of the angular distribution of the daughter particles in the parity violating weak decay Ξ→Λ+π, as well as by measuring the polarization of the daughter Λ hyperon, polarized via polarization transfer from its parent. The polarization, obtained by combining the results from the two methods and averaged over Ξ^{-} and Ξ[over ¯]^{+}, is measured to be ⟨P_{Ξ}⟩=0.47±0.10(stat)±0.23(syst)% for the collision centrality 20%-80%. The ⟨P_{Ξ}⟩ is found to be slightly larger than the inclusive Λ polarization and in reasonable agreement with a multiphase transport model. The ⟨P_{Ξ}⟩ is found to follow the centrality dependence of the vorticity predicted in the model, increasing toward more peripheral collisions. The global polarization of Ω, ⟨P_{Ω}⟩=1.11±0.87(stat)±1.97(syst)% was obtained by measuring the polarization of daughter Λ in the decay Ω→Λ+K, assuming the polarization transfer factor C_{ΩΛ}=1.

Abstract
Nonmonotonic variation with collision energy (sqrt[s_{NN}]) of the moments of the net-baryon number distribution in heavy-ion collisions, related to the correlation length and the susceptibilities of the system, is suggested as a signature for the quantum chromodynamics critical point. We report the first evidence of a nonmonotonic variation in the kurtosis times variance of the net-proton number (proxy for net-baryon number) distribution as a function of sqrt[s_{NN}] with 3.1 σ significance for head-on (central) gold-on-gold (Au+Au) collisions measured solenoidal tracker at Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. Data in noncentral Au+Au collisions and models of heavy-ion collisions without a critical point show a monotonic variation as a function of sqrt[s_{NN}].

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effects of preoperative segmental range of motion (ROM) on clinical and radiographical outcomes after artificial cervical disc replacement (ACDR) and explore whether ACDR could be indicated for patients with preoperative limited or excessive segmental ROM. Methods: From January 2008 to December 2017, patients who underwent Prestige-LP ACDR in West China Hospital were retrospectively reviewed. The preoperative and postoperative X-rays of the cervical spine were collected to measure the radiographic parameters, including cervical lordosis (CL), C(2-7) ROM, disc height (DH), disc angle (DA) and ROM at the arthroplasty level. Clinical outcomes were evaluated using the Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) and the Neck Disability Index (NDI) scores. The correlation between preoperative segmental ROM and postoperative clinical and radiographical outcomes were also analyzed. Results: A total of 161 patients were analyzed, with 73 males and 88 females. The mean age was (44±8) years, and the follow-up period was 34 months (12-120 months). JOA and NDI scores improved after ACDR (P<0.05). However, postoperative C(2-7) ROM and ROM at the arthroplasty level were comparable with preoperative counterparts (both P>0.05). Preoperative segmental ROM positively correlated with C(2-7) ROM and ROM at the arthroplasty segment (r=0.213、0.271, both P<0.05), but was negatively correlated with the change of ROM (r=-0.534, P<0.05). The segmental ROM was 4.0°±1.0° in the limited-ROM group (A) and 14.6°±1.3° in the excessive-ROM group (B), respectively. There were significantly more patients diagnosed with cervical spondylosis in group A than in group B (35.5% vs 10.7%, P<0.05). The level-distribution was statistically different between the two groups. C(5/6) and C(6/7) were prone to limited motion in group A, while C(4/5) and C(5/6) were predisposed to excessive motion in group B (all P<0.05). After surgery, C(2-7) ROM increased for 14.2°±16.8° in group A, while paradoxically decreased for 2.2°±14.4° in group B. However, C(2-7) ROM in group B was still larger than that in group A (P<0.05). Similarly, the ROM at the arthroplasty level increased by 3.1°±3.7° in group A, whereas the values decreased by 4.4°±4.2° in group B postoperatively. In addition, group A still had less segmental ROM than group B (P<0.05). The preoperative DH in group A was less than that in group B (P<0.05). The rates of ASD, HO, and high-grade HO in group A were all higher than those in group B but without significant differences (all P>0.05). Conclusion: Preoperative segmental ROM has no significant effects on clinical outcomes after ACDR; it has a positive correlation with postoperative global and segmental ROM while is negatively correlated with ROM change.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To elucidate the association between cigarette smoking and the susceptibility of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). MATERIALS AND METHODS We searched relevant articles from PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane by 1st December, 2018. This meta-analysis included 20 case-control studies, involving 7,538 AML patients and 137,924 healthy controls. Studies reported OR and 95%CI of the correlation between cigarette smoking and AML susceptibility were eligible. Subsequently, the included data were weighted by an inverse variance and analyzed using fixed-effects or random-effects model. Subgroup analysis was conducted based on ethnicities and sources of controls. Heterogeneity test was applied for the included articles. Data analyses were conducted using STATA 12.0. RESULTS Current smokers (OR=1.42, 95%CI= 1.28-1.57; p=0.392) and ever-smokers (OR=1.16, 95%CI=1.05-1.28; p=0.036) were associated with AML susceptibility. In the subgroup analysis by ethnicity, only current smokers (OR=1.45, 95%CI=1.29-1.63; p=0.371) and ever-smokers (OR=1.16, 95%CI=1.03-1.30; p=0.034) of the Caucasian population were associated with AML susceptibility. Stratified analysis based on SOC (source of controls) indicated increased susceptibility of AML in current smokers (OR=1.43, 95%CI=1.26-1.63; p=0.283) and ever-smokers (OR=1.20, 95%CI=1.07-1.35; p=0.078) of the population-based group. Nevertheless, only current smokers in the hospital-based group had increased susceptibility of AML (OR=1.45, 95%CI=1.19-1.76; p=0.198). The risks of AML in ever-smokers (OR=1.04, 95%CI = 0.81-1.35; p=0.054) of the hospital-based group did not remarkably changed. CONCLUSIONS In this meta-analysis, we confirmed the association between cigarette smoking and onset risk of AML, especially in the Caucasian population. High-quality, large-scale researches are required to be conducted in multi-center hospitals for verification.

Abstract
1. Leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor A5 (LILRA5) is a key molecule that regulates the immune system. However, the LILRA5 gene has not been characterised in avian species, including chickens. The present study aimed to identify and functionally characterise LILRA5 identified from two genetically disparate chicken lines, viz., Marek's disease (MD)-resistant (R) line 6.3 and MD-susceptible (S) line 7.2. 2. Multiple sequence alignment and phylogenetic analyses confirmed that the identity and similarity homologies of amino acids of LILRA5 in chicken lines 6.3 and 7.2 ranged between 93% and 93.7%, whereas those between chicken and mammals ranged between 20.9% and 43.7% and 21.1% to 43.9%, respectively. The newly cloned LILRA5 from chicken lines 6.3 and 7.2 revealed high conservation and a close relationship with other known mammalian LILRA5 proteins. 3. The results indicated that LILRA5 from chicken lines 6.3 and 7.2 was associated with phosphorylation of Src kinases and protein tyrosine phosphatase non-receptor type 11 (SHP2), which play a regulatory role in immune functions. Moreover, the results demonstrated that LILRA5 in these lines was associated with the activation of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I and β2-microglobulin and induced the expression of the transporter associated with antigen processing. In addition, LILRA5 in both chicken lines activated and induced Janus kinase (JAK)-signal transducer and the activator of transcription (STAT), nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB), phosphoinositide-3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (AKT) and the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK)1/2 signalling pathways; toll-like receptors; and Th1-, Th2-, and Th17- cytokines. 4. The data suggested that LILRA5 has innate immune receptors essential for macrophage immune response and provide novel insights into the regulation of immunity and immunopathology.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy and mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy in order to determine the optimal tract size for patients with renal stones. Methods: A systematic search of Web of Science, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and PubMed databases was conducted for articles published through 20 August 2019, reporting on a comparison of the standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy and mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. Results: Of 763 studies, 14 were considered for the evidence synthesis. A total of 1980 cases were included. Of these patients, 897 cases underwent standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy, and 1083 cases underwent mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Stone-free rates were 87.6% (786 of 897 patients) for standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy and 87.8% (951 of 1083 patients) for mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy ( p = 0.57). Tract sizes of 30F and 22–26F in standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy group shorten operation time compared with mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy ( p = 0.02; p = 0.004; respectively). Leakage ( p = 0.04), bleeding ( p = 0.01), blood transfusion ( p < 0.00001), and renal pelvis perforation ( p = 0.02) were more common in standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy group than in mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy group. Subgroup analysis showed only blood transfusion for 30F and 22–26F standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy group was more common than mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy ( p < 0.0001, p = 0.005, respectively). Conclusion: Standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy was associated with higher leakage, bleeding, blood transfusion, and renal pelvis perforation, but had a shorter operation time. Tract size of 30F improved the stone-free rate compared with mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy, but led to more complications. Tract size of 22–26F was no better than 30F or mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy.

Abstract
We report on the first measurement of the charmed baryon Λ_{c}^{±} production at midrapidity (|y|<1) in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV collected by the STAR experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The Λ_{c}/D^{0} [denoting (Λ_{c}^{+}+Λ_{c}^{-})/(D^{0}+D[over ¯]^{0})] yield ratio is measured to be 1.08±0.16 (stat)±0.26 (sys) in the 0%-20% most central Au+Au collisions for the transverse momentum (p_{T}) range 3<p_{T}<6 GeV/c. This is significantly larger than the pythia model calculations for p+p collisions. The measured Λ_{c}/D^{0} ratio, as a function of p_{T} and collision centrality, is comparable to the baryon-to-meson ratios for light and strange hadrons in Au+Au collisions. Model calculations including coalescence hadronization for charmed baryon and meson formation reproduce the features of our measured Λ_{c}/D^{0} ratio.

Abstract
Background There are various endoscopic techniques for thyroid carcinoma dissection but few reports regarding the scarless neck technique and central compartment dissection (CCD) via the breast approach, especially for bilateral CCD are available. In this study, we reported 45 cases with scarless neck endoscopic total or near-total thyroidectomy plus CCD via the breast approach. Materials and Methods Forty-five female patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) were enrolled in the study, from January 2011 to March 2013. In brief, 5 mm ultrasonic coagulation device (Harmonic Scalpel, HS; Ethicon Endosurgery, USA) was used to perform thyroid vessel management and thyroidectomy. Twenty patients underwent total thyroidectomy and 25 underwent near-total thyroidectomy. CCD was performed in all 45 patients, including 13 with bilateral CCD and 32 with ipsilateral CCD. Results The procedure was successful for all 45 patients. Sixteen patients (35.6%) had lymph node metastases in central compartments. Postoperative transient adverse events included voice changes (9 patients) and hypocalcemia (18 patients), including 7 (21.9%) in the unilateral group and 11 (84.6%) in bilateral group. There was no permanent hypocalcemia or recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) palsy. None of the case were converted to open surgical procedure. All patients were satisfied with the cosmetic result of the scarless neck endoscopic thyroidectomy (SET). No evidence of residual or recurrent disease was found during a mean follow-up of 22.84 months (range, 12-34 months). Conclusions Experienced thyroid surgeons performed the scarless neck endoscopic total or near-total thyroidectomy plus unilateral or bilateral CCD via the breast approach for selected PTC patients. The procedure was safe and feasible with excellent cosmetic results.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Data from clinical trials of human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines showed that women naïve (negative for both type-specific antibodies and DNA) to vaccine types would derive benefit from vaccination; therefore, an understanding of the proportion of naïve women in different age groups is important for developing HPV vaccination strategies. METHODS From November 2012 to April 2013, a total of 7372 healthy women aged 18-45 years were recruited in five provinces in China. Cervical specimens and serum samples were collected for each woman at entry. Cervical specimens were first tested by the HPV DNA enzyme immunoassay method; if positive, the specimens were then tested by reverse hybridization line probe assay and HPV-16 and HPV-18 specific polymerase chain reactions. Neutralizing antibodies against HPV-16 or HPV-18 were tested with a pseudovirion-based neutralization assay. RESULTS The overall prevalence of high-risk HPV DNA was 14.8% (1088/7367, 95% CI 14.0-15.6), and the seroprevalence of neutralizing antibodies against HPV-16 and HPV-18 was 12.6% (925/7367) and 4.9% (364/7367), respectively. In younger women (18-26 years) and middle-aged women (27-45 years), 83.8% (3116/3719) and 81.4% (2968/3648) were naïve to both HPV-16 and HPV-18 (both neutralizing antibodies and DNA were negative), respectively. In addition, 98.5% (3664/3719) and 98.0% (3575/3648) of the younger or middle-aged women were naïve to at least one HPV type (HPV-16 or HPV-18). DISCUSSION This study revealed that the majority of Chinese women aged 18-26 years and 27-45 years were naïve to both HPV-16 and HPV-18 and would thus derive full benefit from bivalent HPV vaccination.

Abstract
Background Numerous studies have explored the correlation of periodontal disease (PD) with risk of hematopoietic and lymphatic cancers, but the findings were inconsistent. Therefore, we did a meta-analysis to ascertain the correlation of PD with risk of incident hematopoietic and lymphatic cancers.
Material and Methods The authors searched relevant studies in databases (PubMed, Web of Science, and MEDLINE). The summary relative risk (RR) along with 95% confidence interval (CI) was calculated by use of random or fixed effects models.
Results Six studies were included in qualitative synthesis. The pooled analysis revealed that PD was significantly associated with an increased risk of hematopoietic and lymphatic cancers (RR = 1.17; 95% CI = 1.07–1.27; P = 0). Stratified analysis showed the association of PD with hematopoietic and lymphatic cancers remained significant in the never smokers (RR = 1.28; 95% CI = 1.07–1.54; P = 0.007), and in the American population (RR = 1.17; 95% CI = 1.05–1.30; P = 0.003), respectively.
Conclusions Never smokers population and the American population with PD have a higher risk of developing hematopoietic and lymphatic cancers. PD might be considered as a risk factor for hematopoietic and lymphatic cancers. Key words:Periodontal disease, hematopoietic and lymphatic cancer, meta-analysis, systematic review.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the impact of implant height on the morphology of cervical facet joints in artificial cervical disc replacement (ACDR). Methods: A finite element model of the cervical spine from C(2) to C(7) was constructed. The surgical processes of ACDR were simulated by insertion of 5 mm, 6 mm or 7 mm Prestige-LP artificial cervical discs. The morphological changes of cervical facet joints were recorded in terms of facet overlap distance, facet overlap area and facet angle. Results: The normal height Prestige-LP cervical disc could restore the natural status of the cervical spine. Compared with the intact condition, the model with ≥2 mm height implant would reduce the overall range of motion (ROM) by 19.2% in flexion, 19.4% in extension, 18.4% in lateral bending and 19.0% in axial rotation. Besides, the ROM at the surgical level reduced by 15.8% in flexion, 15.4% in extension and lateral bending and 19.0% in rotation. The upper and lower adjacent levels (C(4/5) and C(5/6)) showed more obvious changes in ROM, which reduced by 26.8% and 26.5% in flexion, 26.6% in extension, 26.5% and 26.4% in lateral bending, and 26.4% and 26.3% in rotation, respectively. The reduction of facet overlap distance, facet angle and facet overlap area with the ≥2 mm height artifact was 9.6%, 30.7%, and 17.9% respectively at the upper adjacent level, and 22.3%, 35.3% and 28.2% respectively at the surgical level, compared with the intact model.The morphology of facet joints at the lower adjacent level were slightly changed. Conclusion: The implant height selection in ACDR should be in accordance with the physiological intervertebral disc height. Artifact with ≥2 mm in height would obviously change the morphology of facet joints, thus should not be used in clinical practice.

Abstract
1. Phosvitin, a major phosphoprotein found in egg yolk, has strong antioxidant activity. Activation of elastase, collagenase, and hyaluronidase by reactive oxygen species are related to the degradation of ECM and skin aging. The objective of this study was to determine the anti-elastase and anti-hyaluronidase activity of phosvitin.2. Elastase from porcine pancreas and hyaluronidase from bovine testes were used to study the inhibitory activity of phosvitin. To elucidate the mechanism of enzyme inhibition, a Lineweaver-Burk plot was constructed.3. Phosvitin inhibited elastase and hyaluronidase activity in a dose-dependent manner. The IC50 value of phosvitin was 31.6 μg/ml and 1,270 μg/ml against elastase and hyaluronidase, respectively. The analysis of elastase and hyaluronidase kinetics indicated that the apparent Michaelis constant (appKm) was increased by phosvitin but the Vmax value was not affected.4. In conclusion, phosvitin exhibited competitive inhibitory activity against elastase and hyaluronidase. Thus, phosvitin could be used as a natural anti-aging agent in the cosmetics industry.

Abstract
We report the first measurement of rapidity-odd directed flow (v_{1}) for D^{0} and D^{0}[over ¯] mesons at midrapidity (|y|<0.8) in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV using the STAR detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. In 10-80% Au+Au collisions, the slope of the v_{1} rapidity dependence (dv_{1}/dy), averaged over D^{0} and D^{0}[over ¯] mesons, is -0.080±0.017(stat)±0.016(syst) for transverse momentum p_{T} above 1.5 GeV/c. The absolute value of D^{0} meson dv_{1}/dy is about 25 times larger than that for charged kaons, with 3.4σ significance. These data give a unique insight into the initial tilt of the produced matter, and offer constraints on the geometric and transport parameters of the hot QCD medium created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions.

Abstract
The Λ (Λ[over ¯]) hyperon polarization along the beam direction has been measured in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV, for the first time in heavy-ion collisions. The polarization dependence on the hyperons' emission angle relative to the elliptic flow plane exhibits a second harmonic sine modulation, indicating a quadrupole pattern of the vorticity component along the beam direction, expected due to elliptic flow. The polarization is found to increase in more peripheral collisions, and shows no strong transverse momentum (p_{T}) dependence at p_{T} greater than 1 GeV/c. The magnitude of the signal is about 5 times smaller than those predicted by hydrodynamic and multiphase transport models; the observed phase of the emission angle dependence is also opposite to these model predictions. In contrast, the kinematic vorticity calculations in the blast-wave model tuned to reproduce particle spectra, elliptic flow, and the azimuthal dependence of the Gaussian source radii measured with the Hanbury Brown-Twiss intensity interferometry technique reproduce well the modulation phase measured in the data and capture the centrality and transverse momentum dependence of the polarization signal.

Abstract
We report on the first measurements of J/ψ production at very low transverse momentum (p_{T}<0.2 GeV/c) in hadronic Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV and U+U collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=193 GeV. Remarkably, the inferred nuclear modification factor of J/ψ at midrapidity in Au+Au (U+U) collisions reaches about 24 (52) for p_{T}<0.05 GeV/c in the 60%-80% collision centrality class. This noteworthy enhancement cannot be explained by hadronic production accompanied by cold and hot medium effects. In addition, the dN/dt distribution of J/ψ for the very low p_{T} range is presented for the first time. The distribution is consistent with that expected from the Au nucleus and shows a hint of interference. Comparison of the measurements to theoretical calculations of coherent production shows that the excess yield can be described reasonably well and reveals a partial disruption of coherent production in semicentral collisions, perhaps due to the violent hadronic interactions. Incorporating theoretical calculations, the results strongly suggest that the dramatic enhancement of J/ψ yield observed at extremely low p_{T} originates from coherent photon-nucleus interactions. In particular, coherently produced J/ψ's in violent hadronic collisions may provide a novel probe of the quark-gluon plasma.

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to: (a) screen a large group of unselected patients with juvenile systemic lupus erythematosus for anti-aquaporin 4 antibodies (AQP4-Ab); (b) identify clinical and laboratory predictors of the presence of AQP4-Ab positivity in juvenile systemic lupus erythematosus. METHODS Sera from 90 patients with juvenile systemic lupus erythematosus were tested for the presence of AQP4-Ab using a cell-based assay. Demographics, clinical and immunological features, treatment received were summarized. Fisher's exact test was used to identify clinical predictors of positivity for AQP4-Ab. RESULTS Five of 90 (5.5%) patients tested positive for AQP4-Ab, all of which had neurological involvement, mainly transverse myelitis and optic neuritis. AQP4-Ab-positive patients were more likely to have neurological symptoms (P = 0.002), less likely to experience dermatological manifestations (P = 0.045), and less likely to have detectable anti-dsDNA antibodies (P = 0.022). These patients were also more likely to have received anti-epileptic (P = 0.023) and anti-coagulant (P = 0.007) drugs. CONCLUSIONS The findings of this study indicate that some patients with juvenile systemic lupus erythematosus develop antibodies against aquaporin-4 and may be at risk of developing a neurological clinical phenotype. We suggest that all juvenile systemic lupus erythematosus patients should be systematically screened for the presence of AQP4-Ab and this may help identify a high risk for neurological involvement in juvenile systemic lupus erythematosus.

Abstract
The first (v_{1}^{fluc}), second (v_{2}), and third (v_{3}) harmonic coefficients of the azimuthal particle distribution at midrapidity are extracted for charged hadrons and studied as a function of transverse momentum (p_{T}) and mean charged particle multiplicity density ⟨N_{ch}⟩ in U+U (sqrt[s_{NN}]=193 GeV), Au+Au, Cu+Au, Cu+Cu, d+Au, and p+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV with the STAR detector. For the same ⟨N_{ch}⟩, the v_{1}^{fluc} and v_{3} coefficients are observed to be independent of the collision system, while v_{2} exhibits such a scaling only when normalized by the initial-state eccentricity (ϵ_{2}). The data also show that ln(v_{2}/ϵ_{2}) scales linearly with ⟨N_{ch}⟩^{-1/3}. These measurements provide insight into initial-geometry fluctuations and the role of viscous hydrodynamic attenuation on v_{n} from small to large collision systems.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the effects of percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL) in the treatment of medullary sponge kidney with calculi. Methods: A total of 77 patients (91 renal units) of medullary sponge kidney with calculi (MSK group) and 77 patients (77 renal units) with common kidney stone (control group) received PNL at Department of Urology in Peking University People's Hospital from September 2006 to February 2016 were analyzed retrospectively. The MSK group included 33 males and 44 females with a mean age of (42.1±13.2) years, the mean stone burden was (3.9±1.8) cm. The control group included 36 males and 41 females with a mean age of (45.3±13.0) years, the mean stone burden was (3.6±1.5) cm. The numbers of tracts, the time of operation, the drop of hemoglobin, the change of creatine, the time of hospitalization, the stone free rate and major complications were compared between the two groups. The measurement data and numeration data were compared with t test and χ(2) test. Results: There were no significant differences in sex, age, preoperative urinary tract infection, stone type, and stone burden between the two groups (all P>0.05). The proportion of bilateral renal calculus in MSK group was higher (18.2% vs. 0, χ(2)=15.400, P=0.000). There were 159 percutaneous channels were established in MSK group while 90 percutaneous channels were established in control group. Compared with the control group, the operation time ((88.1±37.5) minutes vs. (68.5±30.1) minutes, t=3.543, P=0.000) and hospitalization time ((15.1±8.3) days vs. (10.1±3.6) days, t=4.816, P=0.000) were longer, the creatinine level increased ((101.2±62.6) μmol/L vs. (71.3±23.6) μmol/L, t=3.777, P=0.000), the rate of stone free decreased (27.5% vs. 83.1%, χ(2)=51.840, P=0.000) and the rate of complications increased (29.9% vs. 11.7%, χ(2)=8.114, P=0.004) in MSK group. There was no statistically difference in hemoglobin drop ((12.5±13.2) g/L vs. (13.0±10.9) g/L, t=-0.260, P=0.795). Conclusions: Using PNL for patients of MSK with calculi has a lower stone free rate and a higher complications. It is an effective method for patients of MSK with large and complex calculi.

Abstract
Objective: To discuss the efficacy and safety of subinguinal microsurgical varicocelectomy in the treatment of non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) with varicocele. Methods: The clinical data of 141 patients with NOA and varicocele who underwent subinguinal microsurgical varicocelectomy from March 2015 to June 2017 in Shanghai General Hospital was collected.One hundred and ten patients suffered from varicocele on the left side, 1 on the right side, and the rest (30 cases) were bilateral varicocele. Grade Ⅰ varicocele were found on 7 sides (the right and left side was count respectively), grade Ⅱ on 121 sides, and grade Ⅲ on 43 sides. Sperm analysis, pregnancy rate and complications were recorded after at least 6 months since operation. Results: Eleven cases were lost during the follow-up. Eighteen of the remaining 130 NOA patients processed successful sperm retrieval in post-operative semen analysis (18/130, 13.8%). Six couples(6/130, 4.6%) succeeded in natural pregnancy. Five couples (5/130, 3.8%)underwent successful pregnancy following with intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI). Twenty-six out of the remaining 112 patients underwent the micro dissection testicular sperm extraction (micro-TESE), and 4 patients got a successful sperm retrieval (4/26, 15.4%). Among them, 2 couples had successful pregnancy with ICSI. Totally 2 cases of postoperative infection of incision were found. Conclusions: Microsurgical varicocelectomy had a beneficial effect on sperm quality of patients suffered from NOA with varicocele to some extent, even leading to unassisted pregnancy or avoiding micro-TESE before ICSI. Microsurgical varicocelectomy could be applied in the treatment of NOA with varicocele.

Abstract
Background:
Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) is the most common form of non-invasive breast cancer. To accurately study the natural progression of DCIS lesions in mice, we devised the mouse-intraductal (MIND) animal model, which involves intraductal injection of human DCIS epithelial cells into the mammary ducts of immunocompromised mice. To improve the translational application of the MIND model, we aimed to mimic the natural microenvironment of human DCIS with patient-derived immune cells and assess the role of engrafted immune cells on human DCIS progression. In order to achieve successful engraftment of the entire immune system in mice, we utilized MISTRG mice. These mice were developed by Rongvaux et al., on an immunodeficient (Rag2-/-IL2rγ-/-) background. The genes encoding human M-CSF (M), human IL-3 (I), SIRP1α (S), human thrombopoietin (TPO)(TR), and GM-CSF (G) were knocked into their respective mouse loci. As such, MISTRG mice are highly permissive for human hematopoiesis, supporting the development and function of lymphocytes, monocytes, and natural killer (NK) cells. In contrast, previous studies have used the humanized CD34+ NOD-SCID IL2rγ-/- mice (CD34+NSG), which are unable to support myeloid cell differentiation due to lack of expression of human-specific cytokines. Moreover, prior xenograft studies in the CD34+NSG mice have not used immune cells derived from the same patient as the tumor.
Results:
Human CD34+ cells derived from patients' peripheral blood were expanded ex vivo ˜100-fold using a novel formulation of culture medium. Transplantation of ex vivo expanded CD34+ cells via tail vein injection of MISTRG mice resulted in the successful engraftment of human immune cells as early as 4 weeks following injection. Successful engraftment was confirmed by flow cytometry using human specific antibodies that recognize human leukocytes (anti-CD45), T cells (anti-CD3), B cells (anti-CD20), and myeloid cells (anti-CD33) in spleen, bone marrow, and peripheral blood of MISTRG mice. Once engraftment was confirmed, DCIS epithelial cells from the same DCIS patients or DCIS cell lines were injected intraductally. Recruitment of patient-derived immune cells to the DCIS lesions was confirmed by immunofluorescence using human-specific antibodies that recognize neutrophils (anti-myeloperoxidase), macrophages (anti-CD68), M2-polarized macrophages (anti-c-MAF), natural killer cells (anti-CD56), dendritic cells (anti-CD21), T cells (anti-CD3) and B cells (anti-CD20).
Conclusion:
This model represents the first to enable the study of mechanisms of DCIS progression in a manner that fully represents the heterogeneity of human disease, including the influence of the patients' own immune cells on DCIS progression.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical significance of monitoring ETV6-RUNX1 fusion gene in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) after allogeneic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) . Methods: Clinical data of 13 children received allo-HSCT in Peking University Institute of Hematology from May 2009 to March 2016 were retrospectively collected. The ETV6-RUNX1 gene was examined by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RQ-PCR) . The correlation between its expression level and the disease status was analyzed. Results: Of 13 enrolled ALL cases, the ETV6-RUNX1 expression of 7 patients converted to positive after transplant at a median time of 137 days (range, 28-270 days) . The expression level of the first positive sample was 0.034% (range, 0.004%-0.061%) . The duration from ETV6-RUNX1 positive to hematological relapse was 196 days (range, 28-666 days) . Four patients experienced relapse at a median time of 294 days (range, 104-803 days) after allo-HSCT. The ETV6-RUNX1 expression converted to positive prior to MRD. Patients with positive ETV6-RUNX1 gene expression pre-transplantation would be more likely to relapse. Conclusion: Monitoring ETV6-RUNX1 by RQ-PCR could be used to evaluate MRD status after allo-HSCT. Patients with positive ETV6-RUNX1 after transplant had a poor prognosis.

Abstract
Females with myasthenia gravis (MG) worry about their disease having negative consequences for their children. Autoimmune disease mechanisms, treatment and heredity could all have an impact on the child. This is a subject review where Web of Science was searched for relevant keywords and combinations. Controlled and prospective studies were included, and also results from selected and unselected patient cohorts, guidelines, consensus papers and reviews. Neonatal MG with temporary muscle weakness occurs in 10% of newborn babies where the mother has MG, due to transplacental transfer of antibodies against acetylcholine receptor (AChR), muscle-specific kinase (MuSK) or lipoprotein receptor-related protein 4 (LRP4). Arthrogryposis and fetal AChR inactivation syndrome with contractures and permanent myopathy are rare events caused by mother's antibodies against fetal type AChR. The MG drugs pyridostigmine, prednisolone and azathioprine are regarded as safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Methotrexate, mycophenolate mofetil and cyclophosphamide are teratogenic. Mother's MG implies at least a 10-fold increased risk for MG and other autoimmune diseases in the child. MG females should receive specific information about pregnancy and giving birth. First-line MG treatments should usually be continued during pregnancy. Intravenous immunoglobulin and plasma exchange represent safe treatments for exacerbations. Neonatal MG risk means that MG women should give birth at hospitals experienced in neonatal intensive care. Neonatal MG needs supportive care, rarely also acetylcholine esterase inhibition or intravenous immunoglobulin. Women with MG should be supported in their wish to have children.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Myasthenia gravis (MG) represents a spectrum of clinical subtypes with differences in disease mechanisms and treatment response. MG with muscle-specific tyrosine kinase (MuSK) antibodies accounts for 1%-10% of all MG patients. We conducted a meta-analysis to evaluate the association between HLA genes and MuSK-MG susceptibility. SUBJECTS AND METHODS Studies were searched in Pubmed, EMBASE database and other sources between 2001 and 2018. Genotype, allele and haplotype frequencies of HLA loci in MuSK-MG patients and healthy controls were extracted from each included study. RESULTS The meta-analysis showed that HLA DQB1*05, DRB1*14 and DRB1*16 were strongly associated with an increased risk of MuSK-MG (P < .0001), whereas HLA DQB*03 was less frequent in MuSK patients compared with healthy controls (P < .05). Haplotype analysis showed that these DQB1 and DRB1 alleles were closely linked, forming both risk (DQ5-DR14, DQ5-DR16, P < .0001) and protective (DQ3-DR4, DQ3-DR11, P < .05) haplotypes. CONCLUSION The distinct genetic patterns of MuSK-MG indicate that variation in HLA class II genes plays an important role in the pathogenesis of MuSK-MG patients.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of microsurgical crossover vasovasostomy in treating complicated obstructive azoospermia. Methods: The data of 14 patients with complicated obstructive azoospermia treated with microsurgical crossover vasovasostomy were reviewed from October 2012 to March 2016.Ten of them underwent microsurgical crossover vasovasostomy. Intraoperative exploration revealed that 2 patients had vas deferens injury and contralateral testicular atrophy or epididymal obstruction due to previous hernia repair; 7 patients had obstruction of intracorporeal vas deferens on one side and epididymal obstruction on the other side; the other 1 patient had unilateral vasal obstruction with contralateral epididymal obstruction. Furthermore, 4 patients underwent microsurgical crossover vasoepididymostomy, including 3 patients who had obstruction at caput epididymis on one side, and obstruction at cauda epididymis and distal vas deferens on the other side; the other patient had absence of vas deferens in the scrotum on one side, and testicular atrophy on the other side. Regular follow-up visits were conducted after the surgery. Results: Two patients were lost to follow-up; the other 12 patients were follow-up for an average of 11 (range: 2-23) months. In the 10 cases receiving microsurgical crossover vasovasostomy (including 2 patients lost to follow-up), 1 has not undergone semen re-analysis, 6 were confirmed patent, including 3 reporting spontaneous pregnancy. The patency rate in the 4 patients receiving microsurgical crosseover vasoepididymostomy was 2/4, with 1 patient reporting spontaneous pregnancy. There was no complaint of discomfort or complications following the surgery. Conclusions: Microsurgical crossover anastomosis may be effective and safe for patients with complicated obstructive azoospermia, according to preoperative assessment and intraoperative exploration. It allows natural conception for patients with refractory infertility. The microsurgical crossover anastomosis could be an effective therapy to achieve satisfactory patency of vas deferens.

Abstract
Typically, anaerobic membrane bioreactors are operated at an organic loading rate (OLR) less than 10 kg chemical oxygen demand (COD)/m3 d. This paper discusses the development and performance of a high-rate submerged anaerobic membrane bioreactor (SAnMBR) for a high-strength synthetic industrial wastewater treatment. An OLR as high as 41 kg COD/m3 d was achieved with excellent COD removal efficiency (>99%). The membrane was operated at constant fluxes (9.4-9.9 ± 0.5 L/m2 h) and the change in trans-membrane pressure (TMP) was monitored to characterize the membrane performance. The results showed a low TMP (<5 kPa) under steady-state operation with only biogas sparging and relaxation as control strategy for over 300 days, implying no significant fouling was developed. Inorganic fouling was the dominant fouling mechanism occurred at the end of the study. The results suggest that the newly developed SAnMBR configuration can treat high-strength wastewater at lower capital expenditure while still providing superior effluent quality for water reuse or system closure.
