Abstract
Bleeding following restorative proctocolectomy for chronic ulcerative colitis is an uncommon complication. Usually bleeding occurs from the ileal pouch-anal anastomotic site in the early postoperative period. Significant pouch bleeding in the late postoperative course is rarely encountered. A mesenteric artery pseudoaneurysm along the ileal pouch staple line may be a cause of late-presenting massive per-rectal bleed. Although a rare phenomenon, it must be considered to be a differential in such a situation.

Abstract
Digital images are often corrupted by various types of noises amongst which impulse noise is most prevalent. Impulse noise appears during transmission and/or acquisition of images. Intrusion of impulse noise degrades the quality of the image and causes the loss of fine image details. Reducing the effect of impulse noise from corrupted images is therefore considered as an essential task to be performed before letting the image for further processing. However, the process of noise reduction from an image should also take proper care towards the preservation of edges and fine details of an image. A number of efficient noise reduction algorithms have already been proposed in the literature over the last few decades which have nurtured this issue with utmost importance. Design and development of new two dimensional (2D) filters has grown sufficient interest amongst the researchers. This chapter attempts to throw enough light on the advancement in this field by illustratively describing existing state-of-the-art filtering techniques along with their capability of denoising impulse noises.

Abstract
Recently, everolimus (Evl) has been introduced in the management of hormone receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer, in combination with aromatase inhibitors. Evl-induced acute kidney injury has hitherto been described in other malignancies, especially renal cell cancer, but only once before in a patient with breast cancer. We describe two cases of Evl-associated nephrotoxicity in patients with breast cancer, one of whom underwent a renal biopsy showing acute tubular necrosis. Both our patients improved after withdrawal of the offending agent and have normal renal functions on follow-up.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To evaluate whether atypical urine cytology cases may be stratified more objectively using The Paris System (TPS) and whether reclassified cases correlate with histology and UroVysion® results. METHODS Atypical urine cytology cases subjected to UroVysion® testing over a period of 6 years were reviewed. Each case was reclassified according to TPS and correlated with histology and UroVysion® results. RESULTS A total of 91 cases were identified; 70.3% were reclassified as 'negative for high-grade urothelial carcinoma (HGUC)' and 14.3% as 'atypical urothelial cells (AUC)'. The histological correlation was available in 45 cases. In the 'negative for HGUC' category, 67.9% had no histological evidence of malignancy, but 17.9% were diagnosed as HGUC. In the 'AUC' category, histology revealed urothelial carcinoma in 70% of the cases (of these, 71.4% were high grade). There was no histological evidence of malignancy in 30% of cases; notably, all of which were from patients under surveillance. The sensitivity and specificity of UroVysion® were 85.7% and 33.3% in the 'AUC' group and 62.5% and 100% in the 'negative for HGUC' group. CONCLUSIONS The Paris System is an objective template for reporting urine cytology specimens, and is particularly useful in identifying HGUC cases and refining the category of 'AUC'.

Abstract
The article examines the contemporary trends and future prospects of migration from India to Australia. The focus is on Indian Settlers and Temporary Entrants admitted to Australia for employment and Indian students admitted to Australia for higher studies. The volume of emigration for permanent residence during the early 1990s has made India one of the leading source countries of migration to Australia. A majority of Indians admitted as Settlers every year join the labor force. Recent data indicate that, among Indian Settlers, there is a preponderance of unsponsored Independent Skilled Migrants. Given the anticipated growth in the number of Indian students, the coming years are likely to witness a spurt in Skilled Temporary Workers from India.

Abstract
We report evidence for a narrow structure, X(5568), in the decay sequence X(5568)→B_{s}^{0}π^{±}, B_{s}^{0}→J/ψϕ, J/ψ→μ^{+}μ^{-}, ϕ→K^{+}K^{-}. This is evidence for the first instance of a hadronic state with valence quarks of four different flavors. The mass and natural width of this state are measured to be m=5567.8±2.9(stat)_{-1.9}^{+0.9}(syst) MeV/c^{2} and Γ=21.9±6.4(stat)_{-2.5}^{+5.0}(syst) MeV/c^{2}. If the decay is X(5568)→B_{s}^{*}π^{±}→B_{s}^{0}γπ^{±} with an unseen γ, m(X(5568)) will be shifted up by m(B_{s}^{*})-m(B_{s}^{0})∼49 MeV/c^{2}. This measurement is based on 10.4 fb^{-1} of pp[over ¯] collision data at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron collider.

Abstract
In the present study, we investigated expression pattern of Cholecystokinin type A receptor (CCKAR) in relation to its commonly studied polymorphism (rs1800857, T/C) in gallstone disease (GSD) patients and controls. A total of 502 subjects (272 GSD and 230 controls) were enrolled, and genotyping was performed by evaluating restriction fragments of PstI digested DNA. For analyzing expression pattern of CCKAR in relation to polymorphism, gallbladder tissue samples from 80 subjects (GSD-55; control-25) were studied. Expression of CCKAR mRNA was evaluated by reverse transcriptase-PCR and confirmed using real-time PCR. Protein expression was evaluated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. We observed significantly (p < 0.0001) lower expression of CCKAR mRNA and protein in GSD tissues as compared with control. Significantly higher frequency of A1/A1 genotype (C/T transition) (p = 0.0005) was observed for GSD as compared with control. Expression of CCKAR protein was found to be significantly lower (p < 0.0001) in A1/A1 genotype as compared with other genotypes for GSD patients. Perhaps, this is the first report providing evidence of alteration in CCKAR expression in relation to its polymorphism elucidating the molecular pathway of the disease. Additional investigations with lager sample size are needed to confirm these findings.

Abstract
The conventional methods of treatment of pressure ulcers (PUs) by serial debridement and daily dressings require prolonged hospitalisation, associated with considerable morbidity. There is, however, recent evidence to suggest that negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) accelerates healing. The commercial devices for NPWT are costly, cumbersome, and electricity dependent. We compared PU wound healing in traumatic paraplegia patients by conventional dressing and by an innovative negative pressure device (NPD). In this prospective, non-randomised trial, 48 traumatic paraplegia patients with PUs of stages 3 and 4 were recruited. Patients were divided into two groups: group A (n = 24) received NPWT with our NPD, and group B (n = 24) received conventional methods of dressing. All patients were followed up for 9 weeks. At week 9, all patients on NPD showed a statistically significant improvement in PU healing in terms of slough clearance, granulation tissue formation, wound discharge and culture. A significant reduction in wound size and ulcer depth was observed in NPD as compared with conventional methods at all follow-up time points (P = 0·0001). NPWT by the innovative device heals PUs at a significantly higher rate than conventional treatment. The device is safe, easy to apply and cost-effective.

Abstract
AIM: To analyze the outcomes of laparoscopic ventral mesh rectopexy in the management of complete rectal prolapse (CRP) in North Indian patients with inherent bulky and redundant colon.
METHODS: The study was conducted at a tertiary health care center of North India. Between January 2010 and October 2014, 15 patients who underwent laparoscopic ventral mesh repair for CRP, were evaluated in the present study. Perioperative outcomes, improvement in bowel dysfunction or appearance of new complications were documented from the hospital records maintained prospectively.
RESULTS: Fifteen patients (9 female) with a median age of 50 years (range, 15-68) were included in the study. The median operative time was 200 min (range, 180-350 min) and the median post-operative stay was 4 d (range, 3-21 d). No operative mortality occurred. One patient with inadvertent small bowel injury required laparotomy on post-operative day 2. At a median follow-up of 22 mo (range, 4-54 mo), no prolapse recurrence was reported. No mesh-related complication was encountered. Wexner constipation score improved significantly from the preoperative value of 17 (range, 5-24) to 6 (range, 0-23) (P < 0.001) and the fecal incontinence severity index score from 24 (range, 0-53) to 2 (range, 0-53) (P = 0.007). No de novo constipation or fecal incontinence was recorded during the follow-up. On personal conversation, all patients expressed satisfaction with the outcome of their treatment.
CONCLUSION: Our experience indicates that laparoscopic ventral mesh rectopexy is an effective surgical option for CRP in North Indian patients having a bulky redundant colon.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Living-related donors are the source of almost all organ transplants in India. However, these donations fall far short of current needs, and there remains a huge disparity between demand and supply of organs. In the last five yr, a consistent increase in deceased donor transplant activity has been observed in some southern Indian states. This report describes our experience of establishing a new deceased donor program in the state of Uttar Pradesh in north India. METHODS We describe our experience on counseling families of all brain-dead patients admitted to our center from October 2013 to September 2014 and data on retrieving and transplanting organs. RESULTS A total of 99 brain-dead patients were identified, of which 67 were medically eligible as donors. Fourteen patients developed cardiac arrest before the counseling could begin. Only eight families agreed for multi-organ donation. CONCLUSION Lack of consensus among the family members, mistrust of the medical system, fear of mutilation of the body, and delay in the funeral were identified as the main reasons behind negative consent. Conversely, mass media campaign, proper ICU care of brain-dead patients, rapport with the family and streamlining all medico legal processes were associated with positive consent.

Abstract
A biological marker (biomarker) is a substance used as an indicator of biological state. Advances in genomics, proteomics and molecular pathology have generated many candidate biomarkers with potential clinical value. Research has identified several cellular events and mediators associated with wound healing that can serve as biomarkers. Macrophages, neutrophils, fibroblasts and platelets release cytokines molecules including TNF-α, interleukins (ILs) and growth factors, of which platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) holds the greatest importance. As a result, various white cells and connective tissue cells release both matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and the tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs). Studies have demonstrated that IL-1, IL-6, and MMPs, levels above normal, and an abnormally high MMP/TIMP ratio are often present in non-healing wounds. Clinical examination of wounds for these mediators could predict which wounds will heal and which will not, suggesting use of these chemicals as biomarkers of wound healing. There is also evidence that the application of growth factors like PDGF will alleviate the recuperating process of chronic, non-healing wounds. Finding a specific biomarker for wound healing status would be a breakthrough in this field and helping treat impaired wound healing.

Abstract
Congenital cystic dilation of the biliary duct is defined as choledochal cyst (CDC). CDC presenting with the classical triad of abdominal pain, lump, and jaundice is seen in only 6 % cases. Cyst excision with hepaticojejunostomy is the standard treatment worldwide. We hereby report five cases of CDC with unusual presentations (gastric outlet obstruction, cyst perforation, giant cystolithiasis, giant cyst, and mixed type) and discuss the challenges faced during the diagnosis and perioperative management of these cases.

Abstract
We report evidence for the simultaneous production of J/ψ and ϒ mesons in 8.1 fb^{-1} of data collected at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab pp[over ¯] Tevatron Collider. Events with these characteristics are expected to be produced predominantly by gluon-gluon interactions. In this analysis, we extract the effective cross section characterizing the initial parton spatial distribution, σ_{eff}=2.2±0.7(stat)±0.9(syst) mb.

Abstract
The present work deals with the preparation of fcc-nickel (Ni) nanofibers and Graphene/Ni hybrids. The analysis of XRD, FTIR and Raman data confirms the formation of pure Ni, graphite oxide, reduced graphene and their hybrids. SEM micrographs clearly show the decoration of Ni nanofibers on the graphene flakes. The synthesized Ni-based hybrid systems can have applications in areas ranging from: magnetism, catalysis to microbial fuel cells. The vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) investigations reveal that the hybrid structure shows hysteresis loop similar to that expected from a superparamagnetic system. When the same hybrid structure is used as catalyst for decolourization of 4-nitrophenol, the maximum rate constant of 0.1 min⁻¹ can be obtained. The catalytic activity also shows dependence on the loading concentration of Ni. The enhanced performance can be explained on the basis of synergistic effect between graphene and nickel nanofibers. The developed hybrids have also been applied as catalyst for cathode in microbial fuel cells and the studies showed improved power density compared to conventional microbial fuel cells (MFCs).

Abstract
We present a study of the inclusive production of the X(4140) state with the decay to the J/ψϕ final state in hadronic collisions. Based on 10.4 fb^{-1} of pp[over ¯] collision data collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron collider, we report the first evidence for the prompt production of an X(4140) state and find the fraction of X(4140) events originating from b hadrons to be f_{b}=0.39±0.07(stat)±0.10(syst). The ratio of the nonprompt X(4140) production rate to the B_{s}^{0} yield in the same channel is R=0.19±0.05(stat)±0.07(syst). The values of the mass M=4152.5±1.7(stat)_{-5.4}^{+6.2}(syst) MeV and width Γ=16.3±5.6(stat)±11.4(syst) MeV are consistent with previous measurements.

Abstract
We present the first search for CPT-violating effects in the mixing of Bs(0) mesons using the full Run II data set with an integrated luminosity of 10.4 fb(-1) of proton-antiproton collisions collected using the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We measure the CPT-violating asymmetry in the decay Bs(0)→μ(±)Ds(±) as a function of celestial direction and sidereal phase. We find no evidence for CPT-violating effects and place limits on the direction and magnitude of flavor-dependent CPT- and Lorentz-invariance violating coupling coefficients. We find 95% confidence intervals of Δa⊥<1.2×10(-12) GeV and (-0.8<ΔaT-0.396ΔaZ<3.9)×10(-13) GeV.

Abstract
We present the final combination of CDF and D0 measurements of cross sections for single-top-quark production in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The data correspond to total integrated luminosities of up to 9.7 fb^{-1} per experiment. The t-channel cross section is measured to be σ_{t}=2.25_{-0.31}^{+0.29} pb. We also present the combinations of the two-dimensional measurements of the s- vs t-channel cross section. In addition, we give the combination of the s+t channel cross section measurement resulting in σ_{s+t}=3.30_{-0.40}^{+0.52} pb, without assuming the standard model value for the ratio σ_{s}/σ_{t}. The resulting value of the magnitude of the top-to-bottom quark coupling is |V_{tb}|=1.02_{-0.05}^{+0.06}, corresponding to |V_{tb}|>0.92 at the 95% C.L.
