Abstract
AIMS To explore the relationship between health personality and quality of life among community-dwelling older adults and to examine the mediating effect of eHealth literacy on this relationship. METHODS A total of 413 community-dwelling older adults from central China were recruited from September 2022 to January 2023. A cross-sectional investigation was conducted using the Chinese versions of the Health Personality Assessment (HPA), eHealth Literacy Scale (eHEALS), and 12-item Short Form Health Survey (SF-12). Correlations between the three variables were examined by Pearson analysis, and mediation analysis was conducted to explore the direct, indirect, and total effects of the health personality on quality of life vis-à-vis eHealth literacy. RESULTS Health personality factors (including health neuroticism, health openness, and health conscientiousness), eHealth literacy, and quality of life are significantly correlated (P<0.05); eHealth literacy can play a significant mediating role in the relationship between health neuroticism (β= -0.256, 95 %CI: [-0.405, -0.119]), health openness (β = 0.488, 95 % CI: [0.343,0.652]), health conscientiousness (β= 0.489, 95 % CI: [0.354, 0.634]) and quality of life. CONCLUSION This study revealed that the effect of health personality factors (including health neuroticism, health openness, and health conscientiousness) on quality of life in older adults was mediated through eHealth literacy. IMPACT Individual personality is essential to understanding eHealth literacy and quality of life among community-dwelling older adults. It may be helpful to identify the health personality traits of older adults first, then implement targeted interventions accordingly to enhance eHealth literacy and ultimately improve quality of life.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Report three cases of simultaneous triple semicircular canal occlusion (TSCO) and cochlear implantation (CI) as the treatment of intractable Meniere's disease (MD). CASE REPORTS Patients with MD can present occasionally with intractable vertigo and profound sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL). TSCO and CI have been proposed to control vertigo and restore profound deafness in patients with MD separately. However, a few studies have reported simultaneous TSCO and CI in the same surgical procedure for the treatment of MD. In the present study, we described three patients with MD showing incapacitating vertigo and severe SNHL who underwent simultaneous TSCO and CI after examinations of auditory system, vestibular system, and imaging. Their symptoms were significantly alleviated during the follow-up period. CONCLUSION The combined TSCO and CI remains a viable treatment option which is effective for the control of vertigo as well as the restoring of hearing in patients with MD.

Abstract
H2 generation from methanol-water mixtures often requires high pressure and high temperature (200-300 °C). However, CO can be easily generated and poison the catalytic system under such high temperature. Therefore, it is highly desirable to develop the efficient catalytic systems for H2 production from methanol at room temperature, even at sub-zero temperatures. Herein, carbon nanotube-supported Pt nanocomposites are designed and synthesized as high-performance nano-catalysts, via stabilization of Pt nanoparticles onto carbon nanotube (CNT), for H2 production upon methanol dehydrogenation at sub-zero temperatures. Therein, the optimal Pt/CNT nanocomposite presents the superior catalytic performance in H2 production upon methanol dehydrogenation at the expense of B2(OH)4, with the TOF of 299.51 min-130 oC. Compared with other common carriers, Pt/CNT exhibited the highest catalytic performance in H2 production, emphasizing the critical role of CNT in methanol dehydrogenation. The confinement of Pt nanoparticles by CNTs is conducive to inhibiting the aggregation of Pt nanoparticles, thereby significantly increasing its catalytic performance and stability. The kinetic study, detailed mechanistic insights, and density functional theory (DFT) calculation confirm that the breaking of O─H bond of CH3OH is the rate-controlling step for methanol dehydrogenation, and both H atoms of H2 are supplied by methanol. Interestingly, H2 is also successfully produced from methanol dehydrogenation at -10 °C, which absolutely solves the freezing problem in the H2 evolution upon water-splitting reaction.

Abstract
Frailty stands out as a particularly challenging multidimensional geriatric syndrome in the elderly population, often resulting in diminished quality of life and heightened mortality risk. Negative consequences encompass a heightened likelihood of hospitalization and institutionalization, as well as suboptimal post-hospitalization outcomes and elevated mortality rates. Using a questionnaire-based approach for assessing frailty has been shown to be an effective method for early diagnosis of frailty. Nonetheless, the majority of current frailty assessment tools necessitate in-person consultations. This poses a significant challenge for elderly patients residing in rural areas, who often encounter difficulties in accessing healthcare compared to their urban or suburban counterparts. Additionally, elderly patients face an elevated risk of contracting diseases as a result of frequent hospital visits, given that many of them are immunocompromised. An automated initial frailty assessment approach can help mitigate the challenges mentioned above and conserve clinical resources by circumventing the need for extensive manual assessments. The primary aim of this paper is to introduce an automatic initial frailty assessment method. This method efficiently identifies individuals who may necessitate further frailty evaluation by automatically extracting relevant information from a patient's clinical notes and using it to complete the Tillburg Frailty Indicator (TFI) questionnaire. The introduced phrase-based query expansion technique is designed to identify the most pertinent phrases related to the frailty assessment questionnaire using Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) ontology and incorporates information from clinical notes to enhance its accuracy. Additionally, a method for retrieving pertinent clinical notes to automatically facilitate the frailty assessment process based on the identified phrases was also proposed. The proposed approaches are evaluated using a dataset containing a collection of clinical notes from elderly patients, assessing their effectiveness in terms of automating frailty assessment and question-answering tasks. This research underscores the significance of incorporating phrases as features in the automated frailty assessment process using clinical notes. The research empowers clinicians to conduct automatic frailty assessments utilizing medical data, thereby reducing the need for frequent hospital visits and in-patient consultations. This becomes particularly valuable during unusual or unexpected situations, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, where minimizing in-person interactions is crucial.

Abstract
This paper reports a method for the differential analysis of volatile chemical components in five novel types of mosquito-repellent products based on chemometrics combined with headspace gas chromatography-Orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry (HS-GC-Orbitrap HRMS) nontargeted screening. A total of 358 unknown substances were detected in 30 samples under specific headspace conditions. Through principal component analysis and orthogonal partial least-squares discriminant analysis, 36 significantly different substances with variable importance in the projection values greater than 1 were further screened, and these substances were accurately identified by GC-Orbitrap HRMS. Most substances were found for the first time in mosquito-repellent products. The clustered heat map, Venn diagram and peak area histogram showed that the mosquito-repellent products had similar volatile composition, and the volatile species and content of different types of mosquito-repellent products significantly varied. Substances, such as eucalyptol, d-limonene, α-pinene, β-pinene, dl-menthol and methyl salicylate, may be the main sources of odour in mosquito-repellent products. This work explored the characteristic volatile components in mosquito-repellent products and comparatively analysed the chemical composition of different types of products. It can be generalised to consumer products as a case study and has positive implications for promoting product quality and safety and improving production processes.

Abstract
Mutations in the Contactin-associated protein-like 2 (CNTNAP2) gene are associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and ectodomain shedding of the CNTNAP2 protein plays a role in its function. However, key enzymes involved in the C-terminal cleavage of CNTNAP2 remain largely unknown, and the effect of ASD-associated mutations on this process and its role in ASD pathogenesis remain elusive. In this report we showed that CNTNAP2 undergoes sequential cleavages by furin, ADAM10/17-dependent α-secretase and presenilin-dependent γ-secretase. We identified that the cleavage sites of ADAM10 and ADAM17 in CNTNAP2 locate at its C-terminal residue I79 and L96, and the main α-cleavage product C79 by ADAM10 is required for the subsequent γ-secretase cleavage to generate CNTNAP2 intracellular domain (CICD). ASD-associated CNTNAP2 mutations impair the α-cleavage to generate C79, and the inhibition leads to ASD-like repetitive and social behavior abnormalities in the Cntnap2-I1254T knock-in mice. Finally, exogenous expression of C79 improves autism-like phenotypes in the Cntnap2-I1254T knock-in and Cntnap2-/- knockout mice. This data demonstrates that the α-secretase is essential for CNTNAP2 processing and its function. Our study indicates that inhibition of the cleavage by pathogenic mutations underlies ASD pathogenesis, and upregulation of its C-terminal fragments could have therapeutical potentials for ASD treatment.

Abstract
Objective This study aims to investigate the impact of procedural follow-up through rehabilitation training on enhancing postoperative pulmonary function and quality of life (QOL) in patients who have undergone coronary angiography and stenting. Methods A total of 160 patients diagnosed with coronary heart disease (CHD) and having undergone percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2021, were selected for the study. The random number method was employed to divide them into a control group and an experimental group. The control group (80 patients) received routine post-discharge follow-ups, while the experimental group (80 patients) underwent procedural follow-ups based on rehabilitation training. Pulmonary function and quality of life were assessed at discharge, 6 months post-discharge, and 12 months post-discharge using the Jaeger spirometer and the Assessment Scale of Quality of Life in Patients with CHD. Results No statistically significant differences in pulmonary function and quality of life were observed between the two groups at the time of discharge (P > .05). However, 6 and 12 months post-discharge, the experimental group exhibited higher values for FEV1, FEV1%, FEV1/FVC, and VO2max compared to the control group. Additionally, total QOL scores, psychological function, and knowledge of CHD prevention and treatment were higher in the experimental group. However, there were no statistically significant differences in physical function and social adaptation ability. Conclusions Procedural follow-ups based on rehabilitation training have the potential to improve postoperative cardiopulmonary function and quality of life in patients with coronary heart disease, thereby promoting recovery.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE We previously found that the incidence of sarcopenia increased with declining glucose metabolism of muscle in patients with treatment-naïve diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). This study aimed to investigate the relationship between sarcopenia and muscle glucometabolism using 18F-FDG PET/CT at baseline and end-of-treatment, analyze the changes in these parameters through treatment, and assess their prognostic values. MATERIALS AND METHODS The records of 103 patients with DLBCL (median 54 years [range, 21-76]; male:female, 50:53) were retrospectively reviewed. Skeletal muscle area at the third lumbar vertebral (L3) level was measured, and skeletal muscle index (SMI) was calculated to determine sarcopenia, defined as SMI < 44.77 cm²/m² and < 32.50 cm²/m² for male and female, respectively. Glucometabolic parameters of the psoas major muscle, including maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) and mean standardized uptake value (SUVmean), were measured at L3 as well. Their changes across treatment were also calculated as ΔSMI, ΔSUVmax, and ΔSUVmean; Δbody mass index was also calculated. Associations between SMI and the metabolic parameters were analyzed, and their associations with progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) were identified. RESULTS The incidence of sarcopenia was 29.1% and 36.9% before and after treatment, respectively. SMI (P = 0.004) was lower, and sarcopenia was more frequent (P = 0.011) at end-of-treatment than at baseline. The SUVmax and SUVmean of muscle were lower (P < 0.001) in sarcopenia than in non-sarcopenia at both baseline and end-of-treatment. ΔSMI was positively correlated with ΔSUVmax of muscle (P = 0.022). Multivariable Cox regression analysis showed that sarcopenia at end-of-treatment was independently negatively associated with PFS (adjusted hazard ratio [95% confidence interval], 2.469 [1.022-5.965]), while sarcopenia at baseline was independently negatively associated with OS (5.051 [1.453-17.562]). CONCLUSION Sarcopenic patients had lower muscle glucometabolism, and the muscular and metabolic changes across treatment were positively correlated. Sarcopenia at baseline and end-of-treatment was negatively associated with the prognosis of DLBCL.

Abstract
Tumor immunosuppression are prominent characteristics of brain glioma. Current standard modality including surgical resection and chemoradiotherapy do not significantly improve clinical outcomes. Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) that regard as important stromal cells in tumor microenvironment have been confirmed to play crucial roles in tumor development. However, the effects of CAFs on tumor immunosuppression in glioma are not well expounded. In this study, we report that CAFs contributes to the formation of glioma immunosuppressive microenvironment. Specifically, we found that glioma-derived Jagged1 enhanced the proliferation and PD-L1 expression of CAFs in vitro. Importantly, we discovered that Notch1, c-Myc and PD-L1 expression were significantly increased in high Jagged1-expressing gliomas, moreover, we further confirmed that Notch1 and PD-L1 expression located on the CAFs in glioma tissues. We also found that glioma-derived Jagged1 promotes the increase of tumor-infiltrating macrophages, M2 macrophages and Foxp3 Treg cells, as well as no significance of M1 macrophages and CD8+ T cells, indicating potential immunosuppression. This study opens up novel therapeutic strategies reversing CAF immunosuppression for gliomas.

Abstract
Therapeutic antibodies (Abs) improve the clinical outcome of cancer patients. However, on-target off-tumor toxicity limits Ab-based therapeutics. Cluster of differentiation 147 (CD147) is a tumor-associated membrane antigen overexpressed in cancer cells. Ab-based drugs targeting CD147 have achieved inadequate clinical benefits for liver cancer due to side effects. Here, by using glycoengineering and hypoxia-activation strategies, we developed a conditional Ab-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC)-enhanced humanized anti-CD147 Ab, HcHAb18-azo-PEG5000 (HAP18). Afucosylated ADCC-enhanced HcHAb18 Ab was produced by a fed-batch cell culture system. Azobenzene (Azo)-linked PEG5000 conjugation endowed HAP18 Ab with features of hypoxia-responsive delivery and selective targeting. HAP18 Ab potently inhibits the migration, invasion, and matrix metalloproteinase secretion, triggers the cytotoxicity and apoptosis of cancer cells, and induces ADCC, complement-dependent cytotoxicity, and Ab-dependent cellular phagocytosis under hypoxia. In xenograft mouse models, HAP18 Ab selectively targets hypoxic liver cancer tissues but not normal organs or tissues, and has potent tumor-inhibiting effects. HAP18 Ab caused negligible side effects and exhibited superior pharmacokinetics compared to those of parent HcHAb18 Ab. The hypoxia-activated ADCC-enhanced humanized HAP18 Ab safely confers therapeutic efficacy against liver cancer with improved selectivity. This study highlights that hypoxia activation is a promising strategy for improving the tumor targeting potential of anti-CD147 Ab drugs.

Abstract
Traditional spine surgery frequently encounters difficulties with inadequate surgical visualization and high risk.Robot-assisted spine surgery is quickly evolving,particularly in screw placement,providing three-dimensional imaging and precise positioning to optimize the surgical process. Robot-assisted systems can increase surgical precision,reduce operating time and radiation exposure,and improve patient prognosis. They also have strong image recognition and analysis capabilities,reducing intraoperative instability and fatigue and allowing remote manipulation.While robot-assisted spine surgery has demonstrated noteworthy advantages in regards to screw placement accuracy and reduced radiation exposure,its effects on operative time remain subject to debate,with cost being a significant hindrance to widespread implementation.Long-term clinical validation and studies of outcomes are necessary for the extensive use of robotic-assisted spine surgery.Future priorities include the enhancement of surgical navigation and imaging,integration of artificial intelligence,improvement of telesurgical capabilities,expansion of robotic functionality,and the development of policy guidance and clinical guidelines to accompany the growth of technology.Robot-assisted spine surgery enhances accuracy and safety,and is anticipated to assume an increasingly crucial role in spine surgery as technology advances and becomes more widely available.

However, a clear photophysical picture of exciton transport is still lacking due to strong confinement effects and intricate exciton-phonon interactions in an organic-inorganic hybrid lattice. Herein, we present a systematical study on exciton transport in (BA)2(MA)n-1PbnI3n+1 Ruddlesden-Popper perovskites using time-resolved photoluminescence microscopy. We reveal that the free exciton mobilities in exfoliated thin flakes can be improved from around 8 cm2 V-1 s-1 to 280 cm2V-1s-1 by anchoring the soft butyl ammonium cation with a polymethyl methacrylate network at the surface. The mobility of the latter is close to the theoretical limit of Mott-Ioffe-Regel criterion. Combining optical measurements and theoretical studies, it is unveiled that the polymethyl methacrylate network significantly improve the lattice rigidity resulting in the decrease of deformation potential scattering and lattice fluctuation at the surface few layers. Our work elucidates the origin of high exciton mobility in Ruddlesden-Popper perovskites and opens up avenues to regulate exciton transport in two-dimensional materials.

Abstract
Background Sarcopenia frequently complicates cirrhosis and leads to substantial mortality. Infection is a complication of cirrhosis that results in high mortality. Both sarcopenia and infection are accompanied by systemic inflammation and adversely affect the prognosis of cirrhosis. This article was designed to decipher the association of sarcopenia with infection occurrence, and to ascertain the risk factors for the 90-day death rate in hospitalized cirrhotic patients with infection. Methods A total of 808 cirrhotic patients (373 with infection and 435 without) who had undergone abdominal CT from 2017 to 2021 were recruited for this retrospective single-center research. The skeletal muscle index was assessed at the level of the third lumbar vertebra (L3 SMI). The optimal cutoff value of the CAIL3 model (CTP score, AKI, INR, and L3 SMI) for the prediction of the 90-day death rate was authenticated with receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. Results L3 SMI was considered to be the independent risk factor for infection in cirrhotic patients and 90-day death rate in these patients with infection (HR 2.840 95% CI 2.076-3.886, p < 0.001 for infection and HR 2.097 95% CI 1.142-3.850, p = 0.017 for 90-day death rate, respectively). CAIL3 had an area under the ROC curve of 0.840, and a cutoff value of 0.21 for predicting the poor outcome (sensitivity 77.22% and specificity 76.53%, respectively). Conclusion L3 SMI is an essential factor associated with infection and 90-day death rate in cirrhotic patients. CAIL3 may be a novel model for the prediction of the 90-day death risk in cirrhotic patients with infections.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to design a novel antioxidant and antibacterial film for food packaging using food-grade raw materials. The films were designed and fabricated based on carboxymethyl chitosan and pectin incorporated with procyanidins (PCs) and phycocyanin (Phy) by the tape casting method. The effects of different proportions of PCs and Phy on the properties and functions of the prepared films were studied. The results showed that the thickness of films could range from 55 to 70 μm, with dense network structure and uniform distribution of elements. Compared with C-Film group, the film loaded with PCs and Phy had lower water solubility and swelling rate, and higher tensile strength and elongation at break. FITR and XRD spectra revealed the molecular interaction mechanism among carboxymethyl chitosan, pectin, PCs and Phy, which could effectively endow the films with ultraviolet barrier properties. Moreover, the addition of PCs and Phy could effectively improve the antioxidant capacity and antibacterial effect of films, for example, the free radical scavenging abilities of most films were above 80% when the concentration of PCs was 40 μg mL-1. In view of these functional properties, the prepared film containing PCs and Phy have been successfully used in food packaging, which was proved by the preservation experiment of grapes. This study can provide theoretical and technical guidance for the preparation of biodegradable antibacterial films, and their application in the food packaging field.

Abstract
The microbial fermentation of food has emerged as an efficient means to eliminate pesticide residues in agricultural products; however, the specific degradation characteristics and mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, a Gram-positive bacterium, Aneurinibacillus aneurinilyticus D-21, isolated from fermented Pixian Douban samples exhibited the capability to degrade 45 mg/L of cyfluthrin with an efficiency of 90.37%. Product analysis unveiled a novel cyfluthrin degradation pathway, involving the removal of the cyanide group and ammoniation of the ester bond into an amide. Whole genome analysis discovered the enzymes linked to cyfluthrin degradation, including nitrilase, esterase, carbon-nitrogen ligases, and enzymes associated with aromatic degradation. Additionally, metabolome analysis identified 140 benzenoids distributed across various aromatic metabolic pathways, further substantiating D-21's catabolic capability toward aromatics. This study underscores the exceptional pyrethroid degradation prowess of A. aneurinilyticus D-21, positioning it as a promising candidate for the biotreatment of pesticide residues in food systems.

Abstract
The linoleic acid reaction models were set at 150 °C for 120 min, and its oxidation process was monitored by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Results showed that no furan was formed from linoleic acid without heating, while furan accumulated throughout the heating process. Linoleic acid ran out within 30 min, which indicated that furan was formed mainly from the intermediate oxidation products of linoleic acid after 30 min. It should be noticed that the content of (E,E)-2,4-decadienal reached maximum once the linoleic acid ran out and then decreased with the formation of furan. Multivariate statistical analysis suggested that (E,E)-2,4-decadienal was the most important aldehyde related to furan formation during linoleic acid oxidation. To prove this assumption, the variation of furan from (E,E)-2,4-decadienal reaction models heating at 150 °C for 60 min was also studied. Results showed that the content of furan increased with the oxidation of (E,E)-2,4-decadienal. Furthermore, NMR and GC-MS data proved that (E,E)-2,4-decadienal could be oxidized to 4,5-epoxy-(E)-2-decenal. In conclusion, our results supported (E,E)-2,4-decadienal and trans-4,5-epoxy-(E)-2-decenal as critical intermediate products of furan formation from linoleic acid oxidation.

Abstract
Self-intercalation in two-dimensional (2D) materials is significant, as it offers a versatile approach to modify material properties, enabling the creation of interesting functional materials, which is essential in advancing applications across various fields. Here, we define ic-2D materials as covalently bonded compounds that result from the self-intercalation of a metal into layered 2D compounds. However, precisely growing ic-2D materials with controllable phases and self-intercalation concentrations to fully exploit the applications in the ic-2D family remains a great challenge. Herein, we demonstrated the controlled synthesis of self-intercalated H-phase and T-phase Ta1+xS2 via a temperature-driven chemical vapor deposition (CVD) approach with a viable intercalation concentration spanning from 10% to 58%. Atomic-resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy-annular dark field imaging demonstrated that the self-intercalated Ta atoms occupy the octahedral vacancies located at the van der Waals gap. The nonperiodic Ta atoms break the centrosymmetry structure and Fermi surface properties of intrinsic TaS2. Therefore, ic-2D T-phase Ta1+xS2 consistently exhibit a spontaneous nonlinear optical (NLO) effect regardless of the sample thickness and self-intercalation concentrations. Our results propose an approach to activate the NLO response of centrosymmetric 2D materials, achieving the modulation of a wide range of optoelectronic properties via nonperiodic self-intercalation in the ic-2D family.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aims to comprehensively assess the characteristics of patent foramen ovale (PFO) in relation to Cryptogenic Strok (CS) by utilizing transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and contrast transthoracic echocardiography (c-TTE) and to identify high-risk factors associated with PFO-related CS. BACKGROUND Transcatheter PFO closure has demonstrated its effectiveness in preventing PFO-related CS. Therefore, understanding the specific structural attributes of PFO associated with CS is imperative. METHODS Enrollment comprised 113 test patients who experienced CS in conjunction with PFO and 117 control patients diagnosed with migraine with PFO but without a history of stroke. The characteristics of the PFO were observed by TEE and c-TTE. A comparative analysis was undertaken to assess the variations in PFO characteristics between the test patients and controls, and to uncover the independent factors relevant to CS. RESULTS The patients in the test group were older than the controls. Both the height and length of the PFO during Valsalva exhibited greater dimensions in the test group when contrasted with controls. Notably, the test group presented higher incidence rates of low-angle PFO (defined as an angle between the inferior vena cava (IVC) and PFO ≤ 10°) and atrial septal aneurysm (ASA) as contrasted with the control group. Right-to-left shunt (RLS) III during Valsalva demonstrated a significantly elevated occurrence within the test group as opposed to the controls. Conversely, RLS II during Valsalva exhibited a significantly higher frequency in the controls in contrast to the tests. No significant disparities were observed between the two groups with respect to RLS I during Valsalva and all grades of RLS at rest. Multivariate analysis revealed that the length of the PFO during Valsalva, the presence of ASA, RLS III during Valsalva and low-angle PFO were independent relevant factors associated with CS. CONCLUSIONS The length of the PFO tunnel, low-angle PFO, RLS III during Valsalva and the presence of ASA were independent risk factors for CS. The combined utilization of TEE and c-TTE may prove valuable in identifying PFO patients at a heightened risk of CS and in facilitating the screening process for transcatheter PFO closure..

Abstract
Thyroid cancer (TC) is a kind of cancer with high heterogeneity, which leads to significant difference in prognosis. The prognostic molecular processes are not well understood. Cancer cells and tumor microenvironment (TME) cells jointly determine the heterogeneity. However, quite a little attention was paid to cells in the TME in the past years. In this study, we not only reveal that endothelial cells (ECs) are strongly associated with the progress of papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) using single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq) data downloaded from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) and WGCNA, but also screen 5 crucial genes of ECs: CLDN5, ABCG2, NOTCH4, PLAT, and TMEM47. Furthermore, the 5-gene molecular prognostic model is constructed, which can predict how well a patient will do on PD-L1 blockade immunotherapy for TC and evaluate prognosis. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) analysis demonstrates that PLAT is decreased in TC and the increase of PLAT can restrain the migratory capacity of TC cells. Meanwhile, in TC cells, PLAT suppresses VEGFa/VEGFR2-mediated human umbilical vascular endothelial cell (HUVEC) proliferation and tube formation. Totally, we construct the 5-gene molecular prognostic model from the perspective of EC and provide a new idea for immunotherapy of TC.

Abstract
Colorectal cancer (CRC) seriously endangers human health owing to its high morbidity and mortality. Previous studies have suggested that high expression of CBX2 may be associated with poor prognosis in CRC patients. However, its functional role in CRC remains to be elucidated. Herein, we found that CBX2 overexpression in colorectal cancer tissue compared with adjacent tissues. Additionally, forest maps and the nomogram model indicated that elevated CBX2 expression was an independent prognostic factor in CRC. Moreover, we confirmed that the deletion of CBX2 markedly suppressed the proliferation and migration of CRC cells in vitro and in vivo. Furthermore, downregulation of CBX2 promotes CRC cell apoptosis and hinders the cell cycle. Mechanistically, our data demonstrated that deletion of CBX2 inhibited the MAPK signaling pathway by regulating the protein levels of Mettl3. In conclusion, our study demonstrated that CBX2 is a vital tumor suppressor in CRC and could be a promising anti-cancer therapeutic target.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Although there is growing demand for hospice care in China due to its aging population and increasing cancer rates, the sector remains slow to expand. Oncology nurses are the primary providers of hospice care, but little is known about their behaviors towards hospice care and related factors. METHODS This cross-sectional study conveniently sampled 933 oncology nurses from six grade A tertiary hospitals in Hubei Province between January to March 2022. The questionnaire was composed of seven parts: general information (including sociodemographic and work-related information), hospice care behaviors, hospice care knowledge, hospice care attitudes, hospice care self-efficacy, hospice care outcome expectancy, and hospice care environment. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, independent sample t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, multiple linear regression, random forest regression, and BP neural network model analysis. RESULTS A total of 852 questionnaires were valid. The mean score of hospice care behaviors was 50.47 ± 10.56, with a mean item score of 3.61 ± 0.75. The three highest scoring behaviors were "pain assessment of patients (4.21 ± 0.91)", "satisfying the physical and mental needs of dying patients (4.04 ± 0.92)", and "creating good relationships between the medical staff and family members (4.02 ± 0.87)". The two lowest-scoring behaviors were "proactively recommending medical institutions for hospice care to terminally ill patients and their families (2.55 ± 1.10)" and "proactively talking to patients and families about death-related topics for patients who are critically ill and cannot be reversed (2.87 ± 1.03)." Multiple linear regression, random forest regression, and BP neural network models all showed that the frequency of sharing hospice care experiences with colleagues, hospice care attitudes, hospice care self-efficacy, and hospice care environments were positively associated with hospice care behaviors. CONCLUSIONS The frequency of hospice care behaviors among Chinese oncology nurses is generally at a moderate to high level. The results provide a basis for promoting hospice care behaviors among oncology nurses in order to improve the quality of life for terminally ill cancer patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM) is pathologically characterized by diffuse myofiber necrosis and regeneration, myophagocytosis, and a sparse inflammatory infiltrate. The monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) is a key chemokine that regulates monocyte/macrophage infiltration into injured tissues. The interleukin-6 (IL-6) signalling in the induction of MCP-1 expression has not been investigated in IMNM. METHODS MCP-1 expression in muscle specimens was assessed using immunohistochemistry and real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Levels of multiple serological cytokines were evaluated using the Meso Scale Discovery electrochemiluminescence system. Flow cytometry, RT-qPCR, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, western blot, dual-luciferase reporter assays, and chromatin immunoprecipitation-qPCR were performed to explore the effects of IL-6 signalling on MCP-1 production in human myoblasts. RESULTS MCP-1 was scattered and was positively expressed within myofibers and a few inflammatory cells in the muscles of patients with IMNM. Sarcoplasmic MCP-1 expression significantly correlated with myonecrosis, myoregeneration, and inflammatory infiltration. Serum MCP-1, IL-6, and the soluble form of the IL-6 receptor (sIL-6R) were elevated in patients with IMNM compared with controls. Serological MCP-1 levels were significantly associated with serum IL-6 expression and clinical disease severity in IMNM patients. The IL-6/sIL-6R complex induced MCP-1 expression via the signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) pathway in human myoblasts. Mechanistically, phospho-STAT3 was enriched in the MCP-1 promoter region and promoted the transcription. CONCLUSION IL-6 trans-signalling may contribute to the immunopathogenesis of IMNM by augmenting inflammation through regulation of MCP-1 expression in IMNM.

Abstract
This study aimed to use bioinformatics approaches for predicting the anticancer mechanisms of curcumin on triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and to verify these predictions through in vitro experiments. Initially, the Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK8) assay was employed to rigorously investigate the influence of curcumin on the proliferative capacity of TNBC cells. Subsequently, flow cytometry was employed to meticulously assess the impact of curcumin on cellular apoptosis and the cell cycle regulation. Transwell assays were employed to meticulously evaluate the effect of curcumin on the motility of TNBC cells. RNA sequencing was conducted, followed by Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analyses of differentially expressed genes, aiming to elucidate the potential anticancer mechanisms underlying curcumin's effects. To thoroughly elucidate the interactions among multiple proteins, we constructed a protein-protein interaction (PPI) network. Finally, the expression levels of several key proteins, including fibronectin, mTOR, β-Catenin, p-Akt, Akt, N-Cadherin, p-S6, and S6, were assessed using the western blot. The CCK8 assay results showed that curcumin significantly inhibited the proliferation of Hs578T and MDA-MB-231 cells. Flow cytometry results showed that curcumin induced apoptosis in these cells and arrested the cell cycle at the G2/M phase. Additionally, Transwell assay results showed that curcumin effectively reduced the motility of Hs578T and MDA-MB-231 cells. Enrichment analysis of RNA sequencing data showed that the mechanism of action of curcumin was significantly associated with signaling pathways such as pathways in cancer, focal adhesion, and PI3K-Akt signaling pathways. Subsequently, we constructed a protein-protein interaction network to elucidate the interactions among multiple proteins. Finally, Western blotting analysis showed that curcumin significantly decreased the expression levels of key proteins including Fibronectin, mTOR, β-Catenin, p-Akt, Akt, N-Cadherin, p-S6, and S6. Curcumin exhibits its therapeutic potential in TNBC by modulating multiple signaling pathways. It may inhibit the epithelial-mesenchymal transition process by downregulating the expression of proteins involved in the mTOR and PI3K-Akt signaling pathways, thereby suppressing the motility of TNBC cells. These findings provide experimental evidence for considering curcumin as a potential therapeutic strategy in the treatment of TNBC.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Previous studies have been inconsistent concerning the association between the prognostic value of CD30 expression and extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (ENKTL). METHODS CD30 expression in 82 patients with newly diagnosed ENKTL (mean age, 50 years; 73.2% male) was assessed by immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded sections. The level of CD30 expression was categorized into negative (0%, no staining) and positive groups. RESULTS Sixty-seven cases exhibited positive CD30 expression, and the main between-group difference was the Chinese Southwest Oncology Group and Asia Lymphoma Study Group (CA) ENKTL stage and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status. The cutoff point for CD30 expression was 40% by restricted cubic splines analysis. The overall survival of patients with high expression (>40%) was statistically superior to negative (0%) and low-expression groups. A positive correlation was observed between CD30 and Epstein-Barr virus-encoded small RNA status (r = 0.305). Multivariable analysis suggested that positive CD30 expression (hazard ratio, 0.420 [95% CI, 0.193-0.914]; P = .029) and CA advanced stage (hazard ratio, 2.844 [95% CI, 1.371-5.896]; P = .005) were independent prognostic factors for ENKTL. CONCLUSIONS Positive CD30 expression was a favorable prognostic factor for ENKTL, and CD30 expression could restratify the survival of patients in clinical subgroups.
