Abstract
BACKGROUND As ethnicity is typically recorded as a single demographic variable in clinical studies, little is known about the relative impact of maternal vs. paternal ethnicity on fat distribution. OBJECTIVES The objective of this study was to determine whether there is a differential impact of maternal and paternal ethnicity on infant adiposity. METHODS Three hundred fifty-five infants underwent anthropometric assessment at age 3 months, including skin-fold thickness (SFT) measurement at subscapular, suprailiac and triceps. Maternal (M) and paternal (P) ethnicity were classified as white (M = 241, P = 252), Asian (M = 50, P = 42) or other (M = 64, P = 61). RESULTS Infants with either Asian mother (compared with white) or Asian father (compared with white) had increased subscapular, suprailiac and triceps SFT (all P < 0.05). On logistic regression analysis, however, only maternal Asian ethnicity (compared with white) independently predicted the likelihood of an infant being in the highest tertile for SFT at subscapular (odds ratio [OR] = 2.72, 95% confidence interval 1.17-6.34, P = 0.02), suprailiac (OR = 3.56, 1.51-8.42, P = 0.004) and triceps (OR = 3.26, 1.40-7.55, P = 0.005). In contrast, paternal Asian ethnicity was independently associated with sum of SFT only (OR = 2.46, 1.02-5.97, P = 0.04). CONCLUSION Maternal and paternal Asian ethnicity have differential effects on infant fat distribution. Future clinical studies on obesity and fat composition should consider the distinct contributions of both parents to the ethnic classification of participants.

Abstract
α-Difluoromethylornithine (DFMO) is currently used in chemopreventive regimens primarily for its conventional direct anticarcinogenesic activity. However, little is known about the effect of ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) inhibition by DFMO on antitumor immune responses. We showed in this study that pharmacologic blockade of ODC by DFMO inhibited tumor growth in intact immunocompetent mice, but abrogated in the immunodeficient Rag1(-/-) mice, suggesting that antitumor effect of DFMO is dependent on the induction of adaptive antitumor T cell immune responses. Depletion of CD8(+) T cells impeded the tumor-inhibiting advantage of DFMO. Moreover, DFMO treatment enhanced antitumor CD8(+) T cell infiltration and IFN-γ production and augmented the efficacy of adoptive T cell therapy. Importantly, DFMO impaired Gr1(+)CD11b(+) myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) suppressive activity through at least two mechanisms, including reducing arginase expression and activity and inhibiting the CD39/CD73-mediated pathway. MDSCs were one primary cellular target of DFMO as indicated by both adoptive transfer and MDSC-depletion analyses. Our findings establish a new role of ODC inhibition by DFMO as a viable and effective immunological adjunct in effective cancer treatment, thereby adding to the growing list of chemoimmunotherapeutic applications of these agents.

Abstract
Duloxetine is an effective treatment for oxaliplatin-induced painful chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). However, predictors of duloxetine response have not been adequately explored. The objective of this secondary and exploratory analysis was to identify predictors of duloxetine response in patients with painful oxaliplatin-induced CIPN. Patients (N = 106) with oxaliplatin-induced painful CIPN were randomised to receive duloxetine or placebo. Eligible patients had chronic CIPN pain and an average neuropathic pain score ≥4/10. Duloxetine/placebo dose was 30 mg/day for 7 days, then 60 mg/day for 4 weeks. The Brief Pain Inventory-Short Form and the EORTC QLQ-C30 were used to assess pain and quality of life, respectively. Univariate and multiple logistic regression analyses were performed to identify demographic, physiologic and psychological predictors of duloxetine response. Higher baseline emotional functioning predicted duloxetine response (≥30% reduction in pain; OR 4.036; 95% CI 0.999-16.308; p = 0.050). Based on the results from a multiple logistic regression using patient data from both the duloxetine and placebo treatment arms, duloxetine-treated patients with high emotional functioning are more likely to experience pain reduction (p = 0.026). In patients with painful, oxaliplatin-induced CIPN, emotional functioning may also predict duloxetine response. ClinicalTrials.gov, Identifier NCT00489411.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE After preliminary studies aimed at measuring pertinent biochemical parameters, potentially modified in subjects exposed to bad environmental conditions, a dedicated study was performed in Shanghai city to evaluate the effect of Urban pollution upon human skin and to collect feedback from the volunteers under study. METHODS This study was performed during summer 2008 in two different districts of Shanghai, on 159 local residents: 79 subjects from Xu Jia Hui (a centre Shanghainese area), more exposed to pollution, and 80 subjects from Chong Ming, an agricultural region closely located north of Shanghai (<100 kms) and less exposed to pollution, according to official data. Biochemical parameters were measured on skin, and feedback from volunteers was collected through a graduated 'Likert scale' questionnaire under a point scale (strongly agree, agree, disagree, strongly disagree and none). RESULTS The study demonstrated significant differences in several biochemical parameters measured in Chong Ming area, as compared to Urban area, with an increased ratio of squalene/lipids, a lower level of lactic acid and a better cohesion of stratum corneum. Both sebum excretion rate and sebum casual levels did not differ between the two districts. The volunteer's feedback evidenced a perceived link between pollution and their skin problems. CONCLUSION This study demonstrated a significant impact of the pollution upon the skin status, as illustrated by changes in superficial biochemical parameters and volunteers' perception.

Abstract
Pulmonary histoplasmosis is a granulomatous disease, whose diagnosis is not always easy, as it may simulate metastatic lesions due to similar radiographic findings. We herein report two cases of histoplasmosis with solitary pulmonary nodule in asymptomatic patients with histories of cancer surgeries, whose diagnoses were confirmed by postoperative pathological examinations. Doctors must pay attention to risk factors for immunosuppression such as the histories of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or malignancy, which may increase chances of developing histoplasmosis. Limited surgical intervention is the treatment of choice for these localized lesions.

Abstract
We evaluated the change in tear film lipid layer thickness, corneal thickness, volume and topography after superficial cauterization of symptomatic conjunctivochalasis. Bilateral superficial conjunctival cauterization was performed in 36 eyes of 18 patients with symptomatic conjunctivochalasis. The mean age of patients (12 males, 6 females) was 68.6 ± 10.9 years (range: 44–83 years). Preoperatively, 28 eyes (77.8%) had grade 1 conjunctivochalasis, and 8 eyes (22.2%) had grade 2 conjunctivochalasis. At 1 month postoperatively, the severity of conjunctivochalasis decreased significantly (p < 0.001) and 29 eyes (80.6%) had grade 0 conjunctivochalasis whereas 7 eyes (19.4%) had grade 1 conjunctivochalasis. The mean Ocular Surface Disease Index score decreased from 31.5 ± 15.2 preoperatively to 21.5 ± 14.2 at the end of 1 month postoperatively (p = 0.001). There was a statistically significant increase in mean tear film lipid layer thickness 1 month after the surgery (49.6 ± 16.1 nm vs 62.6 ± 21.6 nm; p < 0.001). The central corneal thickness, thinnest corneal thickness and corneal volume decreased significantly postoperatively (p < 0.001). Our study showed that superficial conjunctival cauterization is an effective technique for management of conjunctivochalasis in the short term. An increase in tear film lipid layer thickness along with a decrease in corneal thickness and volume were observed after surgical correction of conjunctivochalasis.

Abstract
PURPOSE To compare the visual outcomes of aspheric toric intraocular lens (IOL) implantation and limbal relaxing incisions (LRI) for management of coexisting age-related cataracts and astigmatism. METHODS In this prospective study, sixty eyes of 60 patients with visually significant cataract and coexisting corneal astigmatism ≤3 dioptres (D) were randomised to undergo phacoemulsification with either aspheric toric IOL or aspheric monofocal IOL with LRI. The main outcome measures were postoperative 3-month uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), contrast sensitivity, rotational stability of the toric IOL and spectacle independence. RESULTS The postoperative UCVA, contrast sensitivity and refractive astigmatism were significantly better than the baseline measurements for both groups (p≤0.001). There was no significant difference detected for these parameters between LRI and toric IOL groups postoperatively (p≥0.119). At both postoperative month 1 and 3, the percentages of eyes in need of spectacles were lower in toric group than LRI group (p≤0.030). IOL misalignment was noted in three eyes in the toric IOL group (mean misalignment 7.67±4.04°). On vector analysis, magnitude of error (ME) was negative in the LRI group indicating undercorrection, whereas the ME was close to zero for toric group. CONCLUSIONS Both toric IOL implantation and LRI were effective in correcting corneal astigmatism ≤3 D during phacoemulsification, while LRI tended to undercorrect astigmatism.

Abstract
UNLABELLED Aeromonas hydrophila has been increasingly implicated as the aetiologic agent of various human diseases. Therefore, reliable laboratory detection and identification of this bacterium has become clinically and epidemiologically desirable. We developed a nearly instrument-free, simple molecular method for rapid detection of Aer. hydrophila using a cross-priming amplification (CPA) assay with the desA gene as the target. The desA gene is crucial for the survival and growth of Aer. hydrophila under iron starvation. The results can be visualized as colour changes without opening the reaction tubes. No false-positive results were observed for the 33 non-Aer. hydrophila strains tested to evaluate assay specificity. The limit of detection for Aer. hydrophila was approximately 200 copies of desA per reaction (on reference plasmids) and 5 × 10(3) CFU g(-1) Aer. hydrophila in simulated human stool, which is the same sensitivity as a qPCR assay. The performance of the CPA assay was also evaluated with 100 stool specimens from diarrhoea patients and 40 environmental water samples. In conclusion, the simplicity, cost-effectiveness and nearly instrument-free platform of the CPA assay make it practical for use in primary care facilities and smaller clinical laboratories. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY Aeromonas hydrophila is a human pathogen that infects via exposed wounds or ingestion of contaminated water and food. In this study, a CPA-based PCR method was developed for specific, rapid, cost-effective detection of Aer. hydrophila, and the test results could be visualized without opening the reaction tubes. This is the first report on the application of the CPA method for the detection of Aer. hydrophila. This novel method could be practical for use in primary care facilities and smaller clinical laboratories.

Abstract
IL-33 is associated with the induction of Th2-type immunity, however it has recently gained attention for its role in boosting Th1-type immunity and CD8+ T cell function. We have discovered that IL-33 can induce robust antitumor effect through a CD8+ T cell dependent mechanism. Systemic administration of recombinant IL-33 (rIL-33) alone was sufficient to inhibit growth of established tumors in multiple mouse tumor models. Notably, rIL-33 treatment promoted antitumor CD8+ T cell expansion and effector function. Mechanistically, rIL-33 therapy primarily and directly targets dendritic cells in tumor bearing mice, thereby restores CTL activity by increasing antigen cross-presentation within the tumor microenvironment. Furthermore, agonist activation of CD40, which is induced by rIL-33 treatment, stabilized and induced regression of established tumors. Our study has elucidated the potential use of rIL-33 as a novel immunotherapy option for the treatment of established cancers.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the impact of RA on work capacity and identify factors related to work capacity impairment in patients with RA. METHODS A cross-sectional multicentre study was performed in 21 tertiary care hospitals across China. A consecutive sample of 846 patients with RA was recruited, of which 589 patients of working age at disease onset constituted the study population. Information on the socio-demographic, clinical, working and financial conditions of the patients was collected. Logistic regression analyses were used to identify factors associated with work capacity impairment. RESULTS The rate of work capacity impairment was 48.0% in RA patients with a mean disease duration of 60 months (interquartile range 14-134 months), including 11.7% leaving the labour force early, 33.6% working reduced hours and 2.7% changing job. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that reduced working hours was significantly related to current smoking [odds ratio (OR) 2.07 (95% CI 1.08, 3.97)], no insurance [OR 1.94 (95% CI 1.20, 3.12)], in manual labour [OR 2.66 (95% CI 1.68, 4.20)] and higher HAQ score [OR 2.22 (95% CI 1.36, 3.60)]. There was an association of current smoking [OR 3.75 (95% CI 1.54, 9.15)], in manual labour [OR 2.33 (95% CI 1.17, 4.64)], longer disease duration [OR 1.01 (95% CI 1.00, 1.01)] and lower BMI [OR 0.90 (95% CI 0.82, 0.99)] with leaving the labour force early. CONCLUSION There is a substantial impact of RA on the work capacity of patients in China. Social-demographic, disease- and work-related factors are all associated with work capacity impairment.

Abstract
A nonlinear optical (NLO) microscopy system integrating stimulated Raman scattering (SRS), two-photon excited fluorescence (TPEF) and second-harmonic generation (SHG) was developed to image fresh mouse retinas. The morphological and functional details of various retinal layers were revealed by the endogenous NLO signals. Particularly, high resolution label-free imaging of retinal neurons and nerve fibers in the ganglion cell and nerve fiber layers was achieved by capturing endogenous SRS and TPEF signals. In addition, the spectral and temporal analysis of TPEF images allowed visualization of different fluorescent components in the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE). Fluorophores with short TPEF lifetime, such as A2E, can be differentiated from other long-lifetime components in the RPE. The NLO imaging method would provide important information for investigation of retinal ganglion cell degeneration and holds the potential to study the biochemical processes of visual cycle in the RPE.

Abstract
miR155 is a regulator of immune cell development and function that is generally thought to be immunostimulatory. However, we report here that genetic ablation of miR155 renders mice resistant to chemical carcinogenesis and the growth of several transplanted tumors, suggesting that miR155 functions in immunosuppression and tumor promotion. Host miR155 deficiency promoted overall antitumor immunity despite the finding of defective responses of miR155-deficient dendritic cells and antitumor T cells. Further analysis of immune cell compartments revealed that miR155 regulated the accumulation of functional myeloid-derived suppressive cells (MDSC) in the tumor microenvironment. Specifically, miR155 mediated MDSC suppressor activity through at least two mechanisms, including SOCS1 repression and a reduced ability to license the generation of CD4(+)Foxp3(+) regulatory T cells. Importantly, we demonstrated that miR155 expression was required for MDSC to facilitate tumor growth. Thus, our results revealed a contextual function for miR155 in antitumor immunity, with a role in MDSC support that appears to dominate in tumor-bearing hosts. Overall, the balance of these cellular effects appears to be a root determinant of whether miR155 promotes or inhibits tumor growth.

Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate the remission rate of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in China and identify its potential determinants. A multi-center cross-sectional study was conducted from July 2009 to January 2012. Data were collected by face-to-face interviews of the rheumatology outpatients in 28 tertiary hospitals in China. The remission rates were calculated in 486 RA patients according to different definitions of remission: the Disease Activity Score in 28 joints (DAS28), the Simplified Disease Activity Index (SDAI), the Clinical Disease Activity Index (CDAI), and the American College of Rheumatology/European League Against Rheumatism (ACR/EULAR) Boolean definition. Potential determinants of RA remission were assessed by univariate and multivariate analyses. The remission rates of RA from this multi-center cohort were 8.6% (DAS28), 8.4% (SDAI), 8.2% (CDAI), and 6.8% (Boolean), respectively. Favorable factors associated with remission were: low Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ) score, absence of rheumatoid factor (RF) and anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP), and treatment of methotrexate (MTX) and hydroxychloroquine (HCQ). Younger age was also predictive for the DAS28 and the Boolean remission. Multivariate analyses revealed a low HAQ score, the absence of anti-CCP, and the treatment with HCQ as independent determinants of remission. The clinical remission rate of RA patients was low in China. A low HAQ score, the absence of anti-CCP, and HCQ were significant independent determinants for RA remission.

Abstract
PURPOSE We investigated an indentation technique to measure the scleral stiffness and tangent modulus of porcine eyes. METHODS The scleral load-displacement responses were measured with a universal testing machine as a function of IOP in 15 porcine eyes ex vivo using a 5-mm diameter cylindrical flat-punch indenter. The scleral radius of curvature and scleral thickness were measured using a DSLR camera (Alpha 900) and a camera-mounted stereomicroscope (M205C), respectively. The relationships between scleral stiffness, tangent modulus, and IOP were examined. RESULTS The mean local scleral radius of curvature and scleral thickness were 7.86 ± 0.49 and 1.03 ± 0.14 mm, respectively. The average scleral stiffness and scleral tangent modulus of porcine eyes were 0.13 ± 0.02 N/mm and 0.20 ± 0.04 MPa at 15 mm Hg, respectively. The scleral stiffness and scleral tangent modulus were correlated positively with IOP (scleral stiffness, 0.989 < r < 0.999, P < 0.001; scleral tangent modulus, 0.989 < r < 0.999, P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS The scleral indentation technique can provide a noninvasive approach to measure scleral stiffness and tangent modulus.

Abstract
PURPOSE Sodium iodate induces RPE atrophy and photoreceptor degeneration, as seen in the pathogenesis of many retinal diseases. We investigated a new approach of analyzing retinal images using confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (cSLO) that allows longitudinal assessment of sodium iodate-induced lesions in the retina of living rats. METHODS A single dose of sodium iodate (25-75 mg/kg) was given intravenously to adult Sprague-Dawley rats. Control animals were given normal saline or sodium iodide. The retina was examined by cSLO and optical coherence tomography (OCT) in living rats, which were then killed for histologic assessments. RESULTS Confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy revealed the appearance of dark patchy blots in planar images of the retina 7 days after intravenous injection of sodium iodate (25-75 mg/kg). This finding coincided with the observations of degenerative changes in the outer retinal layers in OCT images and in histology of the retina. Further analyses showed a concomitant localization of degenerative profiles in histologic preparations of this retina, suggesting that the blots corresponded to the deteriorating photopigments and outer nuclear layer (ONL). In histologic sections, these degenerative profiles appeared as irregular folds or rosettes in the ONL. Quantitative analyses showed that the changes in blot number were dose dependent, which again coincided with results showing a dose-dependent lesion in the photopigment layer and ONL in histologic sections of the retina. CONCLUSIONS Sodium iodate-induced degenerative changes can be assessed quantitatively and reliably by in vivo retinal imaging using cSLO in adult rats, allowing efficient evaluation of lesions in a large area of retina in longitudinal studies.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To determine the visibility of the scleral spur (SS), Schwalbe's line (SL), and Schlemm's canal (SC) imaged by a swept-source optical coherence tomographer (OCT). METHODS One eye from each individual was randomly selected from 30 normal subjects and 30 patients with primary open-angle glaucoma for anterior segment imaging with a swept-source OCT. The angles were imaged with 2 protocols: (1) high-density (HD, a raster of 64 B-scans each with 512 A-scans over 8 mm) and (2) low-density scans (LD, 128 radial scans each with 512 A-scans over 16 mm). The visibility of the angle structures was determined by 2 masked observers and compared among the superior (90 degrees), nasal (0 degrees), inferior (270 degrees), and temporal (180 degrees) quadrants. RESULTS The interobserver agreement for assessment of visibility of the angle structures was high with agreement coefficients ranging between 0.769 and 0.987. The SS, SL, and SC were visible by both observers in 95% to 100%, 68% to 98%, and 12% to 42% of a total of 240 (4×60) quadrants in 60 HD images, respectively. The visibility was reduced in LD images (50% to 95%, 0% to 10%, and 0%, respectively). The temporal and nasal quadrants generally had superior visibility of the angle structures than the superior and inferior quadrants. CONCLUSIONS The SS, SL, and SC could be identified with the swept-source OCT although their visibility varied with the scan location and scan density. The SS was best visualized, followed by the SL and then the SC in the OCT images.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Mutations in HBx gene are frequently found in HBV-associated hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Activation of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) contributes to HCC development and progression. Wild-type HBx has been demonstrated to activate HIF-1α, but the effect of HBx mutations on HIF-1α has not been elucidated. METHODS HBx mutations were identified by gene sequencing in 101 HCC tissues. Representative HBx mutants were cloned and transfected into HCC cells. Expression and activation of HIF-1α were analysed by western blot and luciferase assays, respectively. The relationship between HBx mutants and HIF-1α expression in HCC tissues was also evaluated. RESULTS The dual mutations K130M/V131I enhanced the functionality of HBx as they upregulated the expression and transcriptional activity of HIF-1α. The C-terminal truncations and deletion mutations, however, weakened the ability of HBx to upregulate HIF-1α. Meanwhile, the C-terminus was further found to be essential for the stability and transactivation of HBx. In the HCC tissues, there was a positive association between the HBx mutants and HIF-1α expression. CONCLUSION Different mutations of HBx exert differentiated effects on the functionality of HIF-1α, however, the overall activity of HBx mutants appears to increase the expression and transcriptional activity of HIF-1α.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIM Offspring of women with gestational diabetes (GDM) exhibit an adverse cardiovascular risk factor profile by as early as age 5 years. Recently, maternal glycemia has been associated with epigenetic modification of genes on the fetal side of the placenta, including those encoding emerging risk factors (adiponectin, leptin), suggesting that vascular differences may emerge even earlier in life. Thus, we sought to evaluate cardiovascular risk factors and determinants thereof in 1-year-old infants of women with and without GDM. METHODS AND RESULTS Traditional (glucose, lipids) and emerging (C-reactive protein (CRP), adiponectin, leptin) risk factors were assessed in pregnancy in 104 women with (n = 36) and without GDM (n = 68), and at age 1-year in their offspring. In pregnancy, women with GDM had higher triglycerides (2.49 vs 2.10 mmol/L, p = 0.04) and CRP (5.3 vs 3.6 mg/L, p = 0.03), and lower adiponectin (7.3 vs 8.5 μg/mL, p = 0.04) than did their peers. At age 1-year, however, there were no differences in cardiovascular risk factors (including adiponectin) between the infants of women with and without GDM. Of note, maternal and infant adiponectin levels were associated in the non-GDM group (r = 0.39, p = 0.001) but not in the GDM group (r = 0.07, p = 0.67). Furthermore, on multiple linear regression analyses, maternal adiponectin emerged as an independent predictor of infant adiponectin in the non-GDM group only (beta = 776.1, p = 0.0065). CONCLUSION Infants of women with and without GDM have a similar cardiovascular risk factor profile at age 1-year. However, there are differences in their early-life determinants of adiponectin that may be relevant to the subsequent vascular risk of GDM offspring.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the impact of age-related change of macular and circumpapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) measurements on evaluation of glaucoma progression. DESIGN Prospective, longitudinal study. PARTICIPANTS A total of 150 eyes of 90 patients with glaucoma and 72 eyes of 40 normal individuals. METHODS Both eyes were imaged by the Cirrus HD-OCT (Carl Zeiss Meditec, Dublin, CA; optic nerve head and macular scans were taken every 4 months for a mean of 45.8 months (range, 35.4-60.6 months). The mean age-related rates of change of macular (including the ganglion cell and inner plexiform layer [GCIPL], inner retina [IR], outer retina [OR], and total macular thicknesses) and circumpapillary RNFL measurements were estimated with linear mixed models in the normal group. Macular and RNFL progression were then evaluated in individual eyes in the glaucoma group, with trend analysis before and after accounting for age-related change using the lower 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of the mean age-related rates of change as cutoffs. The survival probability was evaluated with the Kaplan-Meier estimator, and the agreement of progression detection among the structural parameters was calculated with Kappa statistics. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Detection of glaucoma progression and survival probability of macular and RNFL parameters. RESULTS Before accounting for age-related change, 50.0% (75 eyes) showed progression by the GCIPL thickness, 50.0% (75 eyes) showed progression by the IR thickness, 30.0% (45 eyes) showed progression by the total macular thickness, 27.3% (41 eyes) showed progression by the circumpapillary RNFL thickness, and 10.0% (15 eyes) showed progression by the OR thickness. The survival probability of GCIPL and IR thicknesses were significantly worse compared with circumpapillary RNFL thickness (P ≤ 0.001). After accounting for age-related change, the proportions decreased to 14.7%, 20.0%, 16.0%, 26.7%, and 1.3%, respectively, with the circumpapillary RNFL thickness demonstrating the worst survival probability. The agreement of progression detection between RNFL and macular measurements was poor with (kappa range, -0.055 to 0.185) or without (kappa range, -0.046 to 0.173) taking age-related change into consideration. CONCLUSIONS Age-related change of macular and circumpapillary RNFL measurements can be detected in normal eyes and can affect the analysis of glaucoma progression. The impact is more substantial in analyzing macular progression than circumpapillary RNFL progression.
