Abstract
The adaptive structure and excellent actuation of dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs) make them promising candidates for soft robotics, haptic interfaces and artificial muscles. A wide variety of elastomers have been synthesised and investigated as dielectrics. Inorganic polymers such as polysiloxanes and polyphosphazenes have a low glass transition temperature. While polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) has made its way into DEAs, the latter has received little attention in this field. Here, we present a dielectric elastomer based on polyphosphazene modified with 2,2,2,-trifluoroethoxy groups as the dielectric, which exhibits a dielectric permittivity two times higher than polydimethylsiloxanes (PDMS), excellent elasticity and a high dielectric breakdown field. These properties enable fast, reliable actuation and higher electrostatic forces than conventional PDMS. The actuators can withstand repeated actuation cycles and are suitable for long-term reliability applications.

Synthesis of a New Chelating Iminophosphorane Derivative (Phosphazene) for U(VI) Recovery. Polymers (Basel) 2022; 14:polym14091687. Abstract
A new synthetic chelating N–hydroxy–N–trioctyl iminophosphorane (HTIP) was prepared through the reaction of trioctylphosphine oxide (TOPO) with N–hydroxylamine hydrochloride in the presence of a Lewis acid (AlCl3). Specifications for the HTIP chelating ligand were successfully determined using many analytical techniques, 13C–NMR, 1H–NMR, FTIR, EDX, and GC–MS analyses, which assured a reasonable synthesis of the HTIP ligand. The ability of HTIP to retain U(VI) ions was investigated. The optimum experimental factors, pH value, experimental time, initial U(VI) ion concentration, HTIP dosage, ambient temperature, and eluents, were attained with solvent extraction techniques. The utmost retention capacity of HTIP/CHCl3 was 247.5 mg/g; it was achieved at pH = 3.0, 25 °C, with 30 min of shaking and 0.99 × 10−3 mol/L. From the stoichiometric calculations, approximately 1.5 hydrogen atoms are released during the extraction at pH 3.0, and 4.0 moles of HTIP ligand were responsible for chelation of one mole of uranyl ions. According to kinetic studies, the pseudo–first order model accurately predicted the kinetics of U(VI) extraction by HTIP ligand with a retention power of 245.47 mg/g. The thermodynamic parameters ΔS°, ΔH°, and ΔG° were also calculated; the extraction process was predicted as an exothermic, spontaneous, and advantageous extraction at low temperatures. As the temperature increased, the value of ∆G° increased. The elution of uranium ions from the loaded HTIP/CHCl3 was achieved using 2.0 mol of H2SO4 with a 99.0% efficiency rate. Finally, the extended variables were used to obtain a uranium concentrate (Na2U2O7, Y.C) with a uranium grade of 69.93% and purity of 93.24%.

Abstract
Cerebral malaria occurs due to Plasmodium falciparum infection, which causes 228 million infections and 450,000 deaths worldwide every year. African people are mostly affected with nearly 91% cases, of which 86% are pregnant women and infants. India and Brazil are the other two countries severely suffering from malaria endemicity. Commonly used drugs have severe side effects, and unfortunately no suitable vaccine is available in the market today. In this line, this review is focused on polymeric nanomaterials and nanocapsules that can be used for the development of effective diagnostic strategies, nanomedicines, and vaccines in the management of cerebral malaria. Further, this review will help scientists and medical professionals by updating the status on the development stages of polymeric nanoparticle based diagnostics, nanomedicines, and vaccines and strategies to eradicate cerebral malaria. In addition to this, the predominant focus of this review is antimalarial agents based on polymer nanomedicines that are currently in the preclinical and clinical trial stages, and potential developments are suggested as well. This review further will have an important social and commercial impact worldwide for the development of polymeric nanomedicines and strategies for the treatment of cerebral malaria.

Abstract
Degradable polymers are a currently growing field of research for biomedical and materials science applications. The majority of such compounds are based on polyesters and polyamides. In contrast, their phosphorus-containing counterparts are much less studied, in spite of their potential precise degradation profile and biocompatibility. Herein, the first library of poly(phosphorodiamidate)s (PPDAs) with two P-N bonds forming the polymer backbone and a pendant P-OR group is prepared through acyclic diene metathesis polymerization. They are designed to vary in their hydrophilicity and are compared with the structural analogues poly(phosphoester)s (PPEs) with respect to their thermal properties and degradation profiles. The degradation of PPDAs can be controlled precisely by the pH: under acidic conditions the P-N linkages in the polymer backbone are cleaved, whereas under basic conditions the pendant ester is cleaved selectively and almost no backbone degradation occurs. The PPDAs exhibit distinctively higher thermal stability (from thermogravimetric analysis (TGA)) and higher glass transition and/or melting temperatures (from differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)) compared with analogous PPEs. This renders this exotic class of phosphorus-containing polymers as highly promising for the development of future drug carriers or tissue engineering scaffolds.

Abstract
PURPOSE The synthesis and evaluation of novel biodegradable poly(organophosphazenes) (3-6) namely poly[bis-(2-propoxy)]phosphazene (3) poly[bis(4-acetamidophenoxy)]phosphazene (4)poly[bis(4-formylphenoxy)]phosphazene (5) poly[bis(4-ethoxycarbonylanilino)]phosphazene (6) bearing various hydrophilic and hydrophobic side groups for their application as nonocarrier system for antimalarial drug delivery is described. METHODS The characterization of polymers was carried out by IR, (1)H-NMR and (31)P-NMR. The molecular weights of these novel polyphosphazenes were determined using size exclusion chromatography with a Waters 515 HPLC Pump and a Waters 2414 refractive index detector. The degradation behavior was studied by 200 mg pellets of polymers in phosphate buffers pH 5.5, 6.8 and 7.4 at 37°C. The degradation process was monitored by changes of mass as function of time and surface morphology of polymer pellets. The developed combined drugs nanoparticles formulations were evaluated for antimalarial potential in P. berghei infected mice. RESULTS These polymers exhibited hydrolytic degradability, which can afford applications to a variety of drug delivery systems. On the basis of these results, the synthesized polymers were employed as nanocarriers for targeted drug delivery of primaquine and dihydroartemisinin. The promising in vitro release of both the drugs from nanoparticles formulations provided an alternative therapeutic combination therapy regimen for the treatment of drug resistant malaria. The nanoparticles formulations tested in resistant strain of P. berghei infected mice showed 100% antimalarial activity. CONCLUSIONS The developed nanocarrier system provides an alternative combination regimen for the treatment of resistant malaria.

Abstract
Various polymer drug conjugates (13-16) such as primaquine and dihydroartemisinin conjugated 2-propoxy substituted polyphosphazenes (13), primaquine and dihydroartemisinin conjugated 4-acetamidophenoxy substituted polyphosphazenes (14), primaquine and dihydroartemisinin conjugated 4-formyl substituted polyphosphazenes (15) and primaquine and dihydroartemisinin conjugated 4-aminoethylbenzoate substituted polyphosphazenes (16) were synthesized using substituted polyphosphazenes as polymer and primaquine and dihydroartemisinin as combination antimalarial pharmacophores and formulated to nanoparticles to achieve novel controlled combined drug delivery approach for radical cure of malaria. The polymeric backbone was suitably substituted to impart different physicochemical properties. The polymer-drug conjugates were characterized by IR, (1)H NMR, (31)P NMR and their molecular weights were determined by Gel Permeation Chromatography. The thermal properties of the conjugates (13-16) were studied by DSC and TGA. The conjugates (13-16) were then formulated to nanoparticles formulations to increase their uptake by hepatocytes and to achieve targeted drug delivery. The nanoparticle formulations were characterized by Zeta Sizer and their morphology were studied by TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) imaging. The nanoparticles formulations exhibited biphasic in vitro drug release profile, the initial burst release followed by a sustained release owing to the non-fickian diffusion during first step release and fickian diffusion during second step release. In vivo antimalarial efficacy was tested using Plasmodium berghei (NK65 resistant strain) infected swiss albino mice at different doses. The combination therapy exhibited promising antimalarial efficacy at lower doses in comparison to the standard drug combination. Further, this combination therapy provided protection over 35days without any recrudescence, thus proving to be effective against resistant malaria. The study provides an alternative combination regimen found to be effective in the treatment of resistant malaria.

Abstract
It is a significant issue to overcome the concentration-quenching effect of the small fluorescent probes and maintain the high fluorescent efficiency at high concentration for sensitive and selective fluorescent mark or detection. We developed a new strategy to "isolate" and "fasten" porphyrin moieties in a highly cross-linked poly(tetraphenylporphyrin-co-cyclotriphosphazene) (TPP-PZS) by the polycondensation of hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene (HCCP) and 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-hydroxyphenyl)porphyrin (TPP-(OH)4) in a suitable solvent. The resulting TPP-PZS particles were characterized with transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), (31)P nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and ultraviolet and visible (UV-vis) absorption spectra. Remarkably, TPP-PZS particles obtained in acetone emitted a bright red fluorescence both in powder state and in solution because the aggregation of porphyrin moieties in "H-type" (face-to-face) and "J-type" (edge-to-edge) was effectively blocked. The fluorescent TPP-PZS particles also showed superior resistance to photobleaching, and had a high sensitivity and selectivity for the detection of Hg(2+) ions. The TPP-PZS particles were therefore used as an ideal material for preparing test strips to quickly detect/monitor the Hg(2+) ions in a facile way.
