Abstract
PREAMBLE The International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO) has played an integral role in educating both the metabolic surgical and the medical community at large about the role of innovative and new surgical and/or endoscopic interventions in treating adiposity-based chronic diseases.The mini gastric bypass is also known as the one anastomosis gastric bypass. The IFSO has agreed that the standard nomenclature should be the mini gastric bypass-one anastomosis gastric bypass (MGB-OAGB). The IFSO commissioned a task force (Appendix 1) to determine if MGB-OAGB is an effective and safe procedure and if it should be considered a surgical option for the treatment of obesity and metabolic diseases.The following position statement is issued by the IFSO MGB-OAGB task force and approved by the IFSO Scientific Committee and Executive Board. This statement is based on current clinical knowledge, expert opinion, and published peer-reviewed scientific evidence. It will be reviewed in 2 years.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Obesity is one of the major causes for development of T2DM. Metabolic surgery has been proved to be a successful and cost-effective treatment modality for managing the patients with obesity and T2DM. Many scoring systems and models have been described in literature to predict the outcome of T2DM after metabolic surgery. The aim of this study is to compare the efficacy of Diarem, DRS, and ABCD score in predicting the T2DM remission. METHODS A total number of 102 diabetic patients, who underwent LMGB/LOAGB, were selected for this study. A retrospective analysis of the three scoring systems when applied to these patients and their predictive abilities were analyzed. RESULTS At 1 year after surgery, 72 (70.59%) patients achieved remission of T2DM. Though the pairwise comparisons between AUC on ROC analysis of ABCD, Diarem, and DRS scores does not show statistically significant difference between them, Diarem score has the maximum relative area under ROC curves. By multivariate analysis, it was found that factors significantly associated with T2DM remission were duration of T2DM, C-peptide, and Pre-Op HbA1c. CONCLUSIONS Among the three scoring systems, though DiaRem score has the best sensitivity and specificity and maximum AUC, no statistically significant difference was found in their diabetes remission predicting abilities. A shorter duration of T2DM, a lower HbA1C, and higher levels of C-peptide were significantly associated with a higher chance of T2DM remission.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To explore the role of one anastomosis (Mini) gastric bypass (OAGB) for the super-obese patients. METHOD Literature review was performed in March 2019 as per PRISMA guidelines. RESULTS A total of 318 patients were identified. Mean age was 31.8 years. Mean body mass index (BMI) was 57.4 kg/m2. The mean operative time was 93.1 min with median length of stay of 4.5 days. The biliopancreatic limb (BPL) varied from 190 to 350 cm(median 280 cm). Early mortality was 0.31% with seven complications (including 1 revisional surgery). Leak rate was 0%. Mean %excess weight loss (EWL) at 12, 18-24 and 60 months was 67.7%, 71.6% and 90.75%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS OAGB is a safe and effective option for management of super and super-super obese patients with tailoring of the BPL. Larger comparison, follow-up and randomised trials are necessary to validate these findings.

Abstract
BACKGROUND One-anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) and single-anastomosis duodenal switch (SADS) have become increasingly popular weight loss strategies. However, data directly comparing the effectiveness of these procedures with Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) and vertical sleeve gastrectomy (SG) are limited. OBJECTIVES To examine the metabolic outcomes of OAGB, SADS, RYGB, and SG in a controlled rodent model. SETTING Academic research laboratory, United States. METHODS Surgeries were performed in diet-induced obese Long-Evans rats, and metabolic outcomes were monitored before and for 15 weeks after surgery. RESULTS All bariatric procedures induced weight loss compared with sham that lasted throughout the course of the study. The highest percent fat loss occurred after OAGB and RYGB. All bariatric procedures had improved glucose dynamics associated with an increase in insulin (notably OAGB and SADS) and/or glucagon-like protein-1 secretion. Circulating cholesterol was reduced in OAGB, SG, and RYGB. OAGB and SG additionally decreased circulating triglycerides. Liver triglycerides were most profoundly reduced after OAGB and RYGB. Circulating iron levels were decreased in all surgical groups, associated with a decreased hematocrit value and increased reticulocyte count. The fecal microbiome communities of OAGB, SADS, and RYGB were significantly altered; however, SG exhibited no change in microbiome diversity or composition. CONCLUSIONS These data support the use of the rat for modeling bariatric surgical procedures and highlight the ability of the OAGB to meet or exceed the metabolic improvements of RYGB. These data point to the likelihood that each surgery accomplishes metabolic improvements through both overlapping and distinct mechanisms and warrants further research.

Abstract
We aim to review the available literature on obese patients treated with one-anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) or laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG), in order to compare the clinical outcomes and intraoperative parameters of the two methods. A systematic literature search was performed in PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Scopus databases, in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines. Seventeen studies met the inclusion criteria incorporating 6761 patients. This study reveals increased weight loss, remission of comorbidities, shorter mean hospital stay, and lower mortality in the OAGB group. The incidence of leaks and intra-abdominal bleeding was similar between the two approaches. Well-designed, randomized controlled studies, comparing LSG to OAGB, are necessary to further assess their clinical outcomes.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The laparoscopic mini-gastric bypass is a newly emerged surgical procedure in recent years. Owe to safe and simple process and effective outcomes, laparoscopic mini-gastric bypass has quickly become one of the most popular procedures in some countries. The safety and effectiveness of laparoscopic mini-gastric bypass versus laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy remain unclear. METHODS A systematic literature search was performed in PubMed, Embase, Cochrane library from inception to May 20, 2017. The methodological quality of Randomized Controlled Trials and non-Randomized Controlled Trials were, respectively, assessed by Cochrane Collaboration's tool for assessing risk of bias and Newcastle-Ottawa scale. The meta-analysis was performed by RevMan 5.3 software. RESULTS Patients receiving mini-gastric bypass had a lot of advantageous indexes than patients receiving sleeve gastrectomy, such as higher 1-year EWL% (excess weight loss), higher 5-year EWL%, higher T2DM remission rate, higher hypertension remission rate, higher obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) remission rate, lower osteoarthritis remission rate, lower leakage rate, lower overall late complications rate, higher ulcer rate, lower gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) rate, shorter hospital stay and lower revision rate. No significant statistical difference was observed on overall early complications rate, bleed rate, vomiting rate, anemia rate, and operation time between mini-gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy. CONCLUSION Mini-gastric bypass is a simpler, safer, and more effective bariatric procedure than laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. Due to the biased data, small sample size and short follow-up time, our results may be unreliable. Large sample and multicenter RCT is needed to compare the effectiveness and safety between mini-gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy. Future study should also focus on bile reflux, remnant gastric cancer, and long term effectiveness of mini-gastric bypass.
