Abstract
BACKGROUND Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has become an increasingly important public health disease with a high incidence rate and mortality. Although several studies have explored the effectiveness of resistance exercise in improving the prognosis of CKD patients, the number of studies is still limited and the results are still controversial. OBJECTIVES We conducted this meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCT) studies to evaluate the effectiveness of resistance exercise on CKD patients. METHODS The PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases were searched from the inception date to October 2023. The meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate 12 main indicators, including glomerular filtration rate (GFR)(ml/(min•1.73m2)), C-reactive protein (CRP) (mg/L), serum creatinine (mg/dL), hemoglobin (g/dL), Glycosylated Hemoglobin, Type A1C (HBA1c) (%), high Density Lipoprotein (HDL) (mg/dL), low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) (mg/dL), 6-min walk(m), body mass index (BMI) (kg/m2), fat-free mass (kg), fat mass (kg), grip strength (kgf). RESULTS Sixteen RCT studies were included in this meta-analysis from 875 records. GFR exhibited no significant change in CKD patients treated with resistance exercise (WMD 1.82; 95%CI -0.59 to 4.23; P = 0.139). However, 6-min walk (WMD 89.93; 95%CI 50.12 to 129.74; P = 0.000), fat-free mass (WMD 6.53; 95%CI 1.14 to 11.93; P = 0.018) and grip strength (WMD 3.97; 95%CI 1.89 to 6.05; P = 0.000) were significantly improved with resistance exercise. The level of CRP (WMD - 2.46; 95%CI -4.21 to -0.72; P = 0.006) and HBA1c (WMD - 0.46; 95%CI -0.63 to -0.29; P = 0.000) dropped significantly after resistance exercise treatment. CONCLUSIONS Resistance exercise can improve physical function, metabolic condition, inflammatory response and cardiopulmonary function in CKD patients, specifically reflected in the increase of indicators fat-free mass, grip strength, 6-min walk, as well as the decrease of indicators HBA1c and CRP.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of aerobic exercise on five dimensions of physical self-worth, exercise capacity, physical condition, physical attractiveness, and physical quality in body self-esteem of Chinese college students. METHODS By searching PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, CNIK database, VIP database, WANFANG database platform, we searched for the subject terms or keywords "body self-esteem", "Chinese college students", "Systematic evaluation", "Aerobic exercise", "Exercise intervention", "Meta-Analysis". The search method was a combination of subject terms and keywords and title, and the search period was from database creation to The search was conducted from database creation to May 2022. A total of 3221 articles were searched, and 9 articles were included in the study through repeated screening. Risk of bias was assessed with Cochrane and the quality of studies in the literature was assessed using Grade pro software. The outcome indicators of the included literature were analysed using review manager 5.4 software and StataMP 17.0 software. RESULTS Nine papers including 1613 subjects were included. results of Meta-analysis showed that aerobic exercise was effective in improving physical self-worth (WMD = 1.46, 95% CI: 1.08-1.83, p<0.001), improving exercise capacity (WMD = 1.62, 95% CI: 1.23-2.01, p<0.001), improving physical attractiveness (WMD = 1.32, 95% CI: 0.98-1.67, p<0.001), improved physical condition (WMD = 1.32, 95% CI: 0.98-1.67, P<0.001), improved physical fitness (WMD = 1.51, 95% CI: 1.07-1.95, P<0.001). The differences were all statistically significant. CONCLUSION Aerobic exercise can effectively improve the body self-esteem of Chinese college students. In exercise, male students pursue is athletic ability and physical fitness, and female students pursue is the sense of physical self-worth and physical attractiveness. Aerobic exercise has a greater increase in body self-esteem for obese or Obese college students. Aerobics and physical dance are the most cost-effective for improving body self-esteem. Medium-intensity relative to low-intensity exercise was effective for body self-esteem intervention. A single exercise session of 90 minutes was more effective than a single 30-minute session in boosting body self-esteem, and the overall intervention duration of 16 weeks was more effective than 10 weeks.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The COVID-19 pandemic has seriously increased depression prevalence among the public, including Chinese college students. However, many exercise cannot be performed as usual under the stay-at-home order. This study was a 12-week three-arm randomized controlled trial using the intention-to-treat principle, aiming to explore and compare the feasibility and effect of individual-based personalized aerobic-exercise and resistance-training prescriptions on depressive symptoms in college students, and conclude with some recommendations for individual-based exercise prescriptions. METHODS Eighty-six college students with depressive symptoms were randomized into aerobic-exercise (AE), resistance-training (RT), and wait-list control (WLC) groups. Participants in two experimental groups received 12-week personalized AE and RT prescriptions on their individual situations, respectively. No intervention was implemented on participants in the WLC group. Depressive symptoms and physical activity (PA) were measured by Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) and International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF), respectively. All data were collected at the baseline, 4, 8, and 12 weeks, and 4-week post-intervention. RESULTS At 12 weeks, 72.09% of depressive participants improved to "normal." Participants exhibited a statistical reduction in SDS in all 3 groups (p < 0.05) at 12 weeks compared to baseline. Follow-up assessments showed no significant increase in SDS at 4-week post-intervention compared to 12 weeks (p > 0.05). The independent t-test revealed significantly lower SDS in AE and RT group than in WLC group (p AE < 0.001 and p RT < 0.05) at 4, 8, and 12 weeks, and 4-week post-intervention. Furthermore, the PA of participants (including total PA and intensities) in both experimental groups represented a significant improvement at 4-week post-intervention compared to baseline (p < 0.05), while no differences were observed in the PA of participants in the WLC group (p > 0.05). CONCLUSION Personalized exercise prescriptions have good feasibility as they can increase adherence to intervention and reduce serious adverse events. Besides, individual-based personalized aerobic-exercise and resistance-training prescriptions result in a similar effect in relieving depressive symptoms and improving physical activity in college students. The individual-based exercise programs performed in 45- to 60- min with progressive moderate-to-vigorous intensity, 3 times/week for at least 12 weeks, may reduce depressive symptoms in college students during the COVID-19.

Predicting rehospitalization within 2 years of initial patient admission for a major depressive episode: a multimodal machine learning approach. Transl Psychiatry 2019; 9:285. Abstract
Machine learning methods show promise to translate univariate biomarker findings into clinically useful multivariate decision support systems. At current, works in major depressive disorder have predominantly focused on neuroimaging and clinical predictor modalities, with genetic, blood-biomarker, and cardiovascular modalities lacking. In addition, the prediction of rehospitalization after an initial inpatient major depressive episode is yet to be explored, despite its clinical importance. To address this gap in the literature, we have used baseline clinical, structural imaging, blood-biomarker, genetic (polygenic risk scores), bioelectrical impedance and electrocardiography predictors to predict rehospitalization within 2 years of an initial inpatient episode of major depression. Three hundred and eighty patients from the ongoing 12-year Bidirect study were included in the analysis (rehospitalized: yes = 102, no = 278). Inclusion criteria was age ≥35 and <66 years, a current or recent hospitalisation for a major depressive episode and complete structural imaging and genetic data. Optimal performance was achieved with a multimodal panel containing structural imaging, blood-biomarker, clinical, medication type, and sleep quality predictors, attaining a test AUC of 67.74 (p = 9.99-05). This multimodal solution outperformed models based on clinical variables alone, combined biomarkers, and individual data modality prognostication for rehospitalization prediction. This finding points to the potential of predictive models that combine multimodal clinical and biomarker data in the development of clinical decision support systems.
