Abstract
Oral administration is a traditional, safe, and widely used drug delivery strategy. However, the delivery efficiency of the oral drug delivery system is hindered by the long gastrointestinal tract, filled with dense and viscous mucus. Herein, we presented an acoustic-magnetic responsive nanomotor (MMSNP) for oral drug delivery via gastrointestinal site navigation and mucus layer penetration. MMSNP has a Janus rod-shaped structure composed of iron tetroxide and mesoporous silica, which could be guided to various intestinal segments with an external magnetic field based on the demand of different diseases. In addition, the rod-like system could effectively penetrate the dense and viscous mucus under ultrasound radiation to improve the bioavailability of loaded drugs. In diabetes rats, small intestinal navigation and mucus penetration of the nanomotor increased the oral relative bioavailability of metformin (Met) by 78.0% and the effective hypoglycemic time by 1.1-fold than pure Met. In orthotopic colorectal cancer (CRC)-bearing mice, magnetically mediated colorectal navigation increased the anchoring efficiency of nanomotors by 4.2-fold, and ultrasound propulsion increased the mucus penetration efficiency of MMSNP by 5.2-fold, leading to a vastly improved delivery efficiency of cisplatin (CP) and a superior tumor inhibition rate of 97.2%. This simple and versatile nanomotor has broad application prospects in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, providing a promising and universal strategy for clinical conversion of orally administered drugs.

Abstract
Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), characterized by its aggressive metastatic propensity and lack of effective targeted therapeutic options, poses a major challenge in oncological management. A proof-of-concept neoadjuvant strategy aimed at inhibiting TNBC tumor growth and mitigating metastasis through a localized delivery of chemotherapeutics is reported in this paper. This approach addresses the limitations in payload capacity and stimuli responsiveness commonly associated with microrobotics in oncology. A hydrogel-based system is developed for the immobilization of chemotherapeutic agents, subsequently encapsulated within magnetically responsive microrobots. This design leverages external magnetic fields to facilitate the precise navigation and localization of the therapeutic agents directly to the tumor site. The efficacy of this approach is demonstrated in an animal model, in which a significant 14-fold reduction in tumor size and suppression of metastasis to critical organs such as the liver and lungs are observed. Crucially, the drug release mechanism is engineered to be responsive to the tumor microenvironment and is regulated by the overexpression of the enzymatic activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP2 and MMP9) in TNBC tumors, triggering the degradation of the hydrogel matrix, leading to controlled release of the immobilized therapeutic drug. This ensures that the therapeutic action is localized, reducing systemic toxicity and enhancing treatment efficacy. These findings suggest that this neoadjuvant approach holds promise for broader applications in other cancer types.

Abstract
Microrobotic swarms hold great promise for the revolution of cancer treatment. The coordination of miniaturized microrobots offers a unique approach to treating cancers at the cellular level with enhanced delivery efficiency and environmental adaptability. Prior studies have summarized the design, functionalization, and biomedical applications of microrobotic swarms. The strategies for actuation and motion control of swarms have also been introduced. In this review, we first give a detailed introduction to microrobot swarming. We then explore the design of microrobots and microrobotic swarms specifically engineered for cancer therapy, with a focus on tumor targeting, infiltration, and therapeutic efficacy. Moreover, the latest developments in active delivery methods and imaging techniques that enhance the precision of these systems are discussed. Finally, we categorize and analyze the various cancer therapies facilitated by functional microrobotic swarms, highlighting their potential to revolutionize treatment strategies for different cancer types.

Abstract
Despite the excellent advantages of biomicrorobots, such as autonomous navigation and targeting actuation, effective penetration and retention to deep lesion sites for effective therapy remains a longstanding challenge. Here, we present dual-engine cell microrobots, which we refer to as PR-robots, created by conjugating photosynthetic bacteria (PSB) with red blood cells (RBCs). The robots penetrate the tumor interior in swarms through combined hypoxic traction and ultrasound actuation (UA). The hypoxia-targeting ability of PSB induced PR-robot accumulation in the tumor region. Subsequently, programmable UA trapped the PR-robots to form bioswarms and traverse tissue obstacles, penetrating the tumor interior. The substantial influx of PR-robots into the tumor tissue promoted the formation of tumor-specific thrombus (TST). Finally, the PSB and TST synergistically improved the effect of photothermal therapy. Thus, these advantages of remote ultrasound control technology pave the way for various new therapies in practical biomedicine.

Abstract
Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapy represents a promising strategy for cancer treatment. However, the diversity of solid tumor antigens and the poor infiltration of CAR-T cells significantly hinder the efficacy of CAR-T therapies against tumors. Here, a spatially distributed microneedle system (SDMNS) is developed that leverages bioorthogonal reactions to activate and guide endogenous T cells to tumors for effective destruction. The SDMNS consists of two dissolving microneedles, each loaded with complementary bioorthogonal groups and applied separately to lymph nodes and tumor sites. One microneedle loaded with two dibenzocyclooctyne (DBCO)-modified antibodies activates T cells and labels them with bioorthogonal groups in lymph nodes. The other microneedle, containing N-azidoacetylmannosamine-tetraacylated (Ac4ManNAz) for glycometabolic labeling of tumor cells, and the T cell chemotactic factor IP10, is applied directly to the tumor site. The in vivo studies demonstrate that SDMNS effectively directs the migration and infiltration of endogenous activated T cells into the tumors. Through a bioorthogonal click reaction, DBCO-modified T cells conjugate with azide (N3)-modified tumor cells, eliciting robust antitumor immune responses and durable immune memory. The SDMNS offers a novel strategy to overcomes tumor heterogeneity by facilitating the directed migration of endogenous T cells.

Abstract
Living materials, which include various types of cells, organelles, and biological components from animals, plants, and microorganisms, have become central to recent investigations in micro and nanorobotics. Living material-derived intelligent micro/nanorobots (LMNRs) are self-propelled devices that combine living materials with synthetic materials. By harnessing energy from external physical fields or biological sources, LMNRs can move autonomously and perform various biomedical functions, such as drug delivery, crossing biological barriers, medical imaging, and disease treatment. This review, from a biomimetic strategy perspective, summarized the latest advances in the design and biomedical applications of LMNRs. It provided a comprehensive overview of the living materials used to construct LMNRs, including mammalian cells, plants, and microorganisms while highlighting their biological properties and functions. Lastly, the review discussed the major challenges in this field and offered suggestions for future research that may help facilitate the clinical application of LMNRs in the near future.

Abstract
Magnetic interfacial microrobots are increasingly recognized as a promising approach for potential biomedical applications ranging from electronic functionalization to minimally invasive surgery and targeted drug delivery. Nevertheless, existing research faces challenges, including less cooperative interactions, contact-based cargo manipulation, and slow transport velocity. Here, the cooperative magnetic interfacial microrobot couple (CMIMC) is proposed to address the above challenges. The CMIMC can be maneuvered by a single magnet and readily switched between capture and release states. By leveraging cooperative interactions and meticulous engineering of capillary forces through shape design and surface treatment, the CMIMC demonstrates the ability to perform non-contact cargo manipulation. Using the synergy of preferred magnetization directions and magnetic field distribution, along with optimization of the resistance-reducing shape, the CMIMC significantly enhances the cargo transport velocity, reaching 12.2 body length per second. The studies demonstrate various biomedical applications like targeted drug delivery and myomectomy, paving the way for the broad implementation of interfacial microrobots in biomedical fields.

Abstract
Oral drug delivery systems had natural potential for colorectal cancer drug therapy. While the drug delivery efficiency is severely hindered by the complex intestinal barriers, especially mucus and epithelium barriers, resulting in unsatisfactory therapeutic effects and limited clinical translation. In this work, a bioactive self-thermophoretic and gas dual-driven nanomotor is developed for colorectal cancer therapy through efficient intestinal mucus and epithelial barrier penetration. The nanomotor shows intestinal mucus barrier penetration and the paracellular pathway reversibly opening properties of intestinal epithelium barrier, increasing the delivery efficiency of cisplatin by 3.5 folds. Owing to the targeted delivery of cisplatin and the reduced side effects on normal intestinal tissues, the therapeutic efficiency of the nanomotor for colorectal cancer in vivo is as high as 98.6%. With autonomous and reversible intestinal barriers penetration property, the nanoplatform may innovate the current oral drug delivery.

Abstract
In recent years, medical micro-/nanorobots (MNRs) have emerged as a promising technology for diagnosing and treating malignant tumors. MNRs enable precise, targeted actions at the cellular level, addressing several limitations of conventional cancer diagnosis and treatment, such as insufficient early diagnosis, nonspecific drug delivery, and chemoresistance. This review provides an in-depth discussion of the propulsion mechanisms of MNRs, including chemical fuels, external fields (light, ultrasound, magnetism), biological propulsion, and hybrid methods, highlighting their respective advantages and limitations. Additionally, we discuss novel approaches for tumor diagnosis, precision surgery, and drug delivery, emphasizing their potential clinical applications. Despite significant advancements, challenges such as biocompatibility, propulsion efficiency, and clinical translation persist. This review examines the current state of MNR applications and outlines future directions for their development, with the aim of enhancing their diagnostic and therapeutic efficacy and facilitating their integration into clinical practice.

Abstract
Tweezers based on optical, electric, magnetic, and acoustic fields have shown great potential for contactless object manipulation. However, current tweezers designed for manipulating millimeter-sized objects such as droplets, particles, and small animals, exhibit limitations in translation resolution, range, and path complexity. Here, we introduce a novel acoustic vortex tweezers system, which leverages a unique airborne acoustic vortex end effector integrated with a three degree-of-freedom (DoF) linear motion stage, for enabling contactless, multi-mode, programmable manipulation of millimeter-sized objects. The acoustic vortex end effector utilizes a cascaded circular acoustic array, which is portable and battery-powered, to generate an acoustic vortex with a ring-shaped energy pattern. The vortex applies acoustic radiation forces to trap and spin an object at its center, simultaneously protecting this object by repelling other materials away with its high-energy ring. Moreover, our vortex tweezers system facilitates contactless, multi-mode, programmable object surfing, as demonstrated in experiments involving trapping, repelling, and spinning particles, translating particles along complex paths, guiding particles around barriers, translating and rotating droplets containing zebrafish larvae, and merging droplets. With these capabilities, we anticipate that our tweezers system will become a valuable tool for the automated, contactless handling of droplets, particles, and bio-samples in biomedical and biochemical research.

Abstract
The adoptive transfer of T cells redirected by chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) has made a dramatic breakthrough in defeating hematological malignancies. However, in solid tumor treatment, CAR-T-cell therapy has attained limited therapeutic benefits due to insufficient infiltration and expansion, rapidly diminishing function following adoptive transfer, and severe life-threatening toxicities. To address these challenges, advancements in nanotechnology have utilized innovative approaches to devise stronger CAR-T cells with reduced toxicity and enhanced anti-tumor activity. Equipping CAR-T cells with multifunctional nanoparticles can abrogate immunosuppressive signaling in the tumor area, augment the functions of CAR-T cells, and mitigate their toxicity against normal tissues. Additionally, nanoparticle-mediated CAR-T-cell programming has the potential to optimize manufacturing and lower the cost for the broader implementation of CAR-T-cell therapy. In this review, we introduce the obstacles to be surmounted in CAR-T-cell therapy, highlight the nanotechnology-based strategies that aim to enrich the therapeutic applications of CAR-T-cell therapy, and envision the prospect of nanoparticle-assisted CAR-T-cell therapy.

Abstract
In many hematologic malignancies, the adoptive transfer of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells has demonstrated notable success; nevertheless, further improvements are necessary to optimize treatment efficacy. Current CAR-T therapies are particularly discouraging for solid tumor treatment. The immunosuppressive microenvironment of tumors affects CAR-T cells, limiting the treatment's effectiveness and safety. Therefore, enhancing CAR-T cell infiltration capacity and resolving the immunosuppressive responses within the tumor microenvironment could boost the anti-tumor effect. Specific strategies include structurally altering CAR-T cells combined with targeted therapy, radiotherapy, or chemotherapy. Overall, monitoring the tumor microenvironment and the status of CAR-T cells is beneficial in further investigating the viability of such strategies and advancing CAR-T cell therapy.

Abstract
Asthma poses a major public health burden. While existing asthma drugs manage symptoms for many, some patients remain resistant. The lack of a cure, especially for severe asthma, compels exploration of novel therapies. Cancer immunotherapy successes with CAR-T cells suggest its potential for asthma treatment. Researchers are exploring various approaches for allergic diseases including membrane-bound IgE, IL-5, PD-L2, and CTLA-4 for asthma, and Dectin-1 for fungal asthma. NK cells offer several advantages over T cells for CAR-based immunotherapy. They offer key benefits: (1) HLA compatibility, meaning they can be used in a wider range of patients without the need for matching tissue types. (2) Minimal side effects (CRS and GVHD) due to their limited persistence and cytokine profile. (3) Scalability for "off-the-shelf" production from various sources. Several strategies have been introduced that highlight the superiority and challenges of CAR-NK cell therapy for asthma treatment including IL-10, IFN-γ, ADCC, perforin-granzyme, FASL, KIR, NCRs (NKP46), DAP, DNAM-1, TGF-β, TNF-α, CCL, NKG2A, TF, and EGFR. Furthermore, we advocate for incorporating AI for CAR design optimization and CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing technology for precise gene manipulation to generate highly effective CAR constructs. This review will delve into the evolution and production of CAR designs, explore pre-clinical and clinical studies of CAR-based therapies in asthma, analyze strategies to optimize CAR-NK cell function, conduct a comparative analysis of CAR-T and CAR-NK cell therapy with their respective challenges, and finally present established novel CAR designs with promising potential for asthma treatment.

Abstract
Despite extensive efforts, current drug-delivery systems face biological barriers and difficulties in bench-to-clinical use. Biomedical robotic systems have emerged as a new strategy for drug delivery because of their innovative diminutive engines. These motors enable the biorobots to move independently rather than relying on body fluids. The main components of biorobots are engines controlled by external stimuli, chemical reactions, and biological responses. Many biorobot designs are inspired by blood cells or microorganisms that possess innate swimming abilities and can incorporate living materials into their structures. This review explores the mechanisms of biorobot locomotion, achievements in robotic drug delivery, obstacles, and the perspectives of translational research.

Abstract
Cellular immunotherapy is an innovative cancer treatment method that utilizes the patient's own immune system to combat tumor cells effectively. Currently, the mainstream therapeutic approaches include chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T) therapy, T cell receptor gene-modified T cell therapy and chimeric antigen receptor natural killer-cell therapy with CAR-T therapy mostly advanced. Nonetheless, the conventional manufacturing process of this therapy has shortcomings in each step that call for improvement. Marked efforts have been invested for its enhancement while notable progresses achieved in the realm of biomaterials application. With CAR-T therapy as a prime example, the aim of this review is to comprehensively discuss the various biomaterials used in cell immunotherapy, their roles in regulating immune cells, and their potential for breakthroughs in cancer treatment from gene transduction to efficacy enhancement. This article additionally addressed widely adopted animal models for efficacy evaluating.

Abstract
Recently, magnetically actuated micro/nanorobots hold extensive promises in biomedical applications due to their advantages of noninvasiveness, fuel-free operation, and programmable nature. While effectively promised in various fields such as targeted delivery, most past investigations are mainly displayed in magnetic control of individual micro/nanorobots. Facing practical medical use, the micro/nanorobots are required for the development of swarm control in a closed-loop control manner. This review outlines the recent developments in magnetic micro/nanorobot swarms, including their actuating fundamentals, designs, controls, and biomedical applications. The fundamental principles and interactions involved in the formation of magnetic micro/nanorobot swarms are discussed first. The recent advances in the design of artificial and biohybrid micro/nanorobot swarms, along with the control devices and methods used for swarm manipulation, are presented. Furthermore, biomedical applications that have the potential to achieve clinical application are introduced, such as imaging-guided therapy, targeted delivery, embolization, and biofilm eradication. By addressing the potential challenges discussed toward the end of this review, magnetic micro/nanorobot swarms hold promise for clinical treatments in the future.

Abstract
Medical microrobotics is an emerging field to revolutionize clinical applications in diagnostics and therapeutics of various diseases. On the other hand, the mobile microrobotics field has important obstacles to pass before clinical translation. This article focuses on these challenges and provides a roadmap of medical microrobots to enable their clinical use. From the concept of a "magic bullet" to the physicochemical interactions of microrobots in complex biological environments in medical applications, there are several translational steps to consider. Clinical translation of mobile microrobots is only possible with a close collaboration between clinical experts and microrobotics researchers to address the technical challenges in microfabrication, safety, and imaging. The clinical application potential can be materialized by designing microrobots that can solve the current main challenges, such as actuation limitations, material stability, and imaging constraints. The strengths and weaknesses of the current progress in the microrobotics field are discussed and a roadmap for their clinical applications in the near future is outlined.

Abstract
In the realm of precise medicine, the advancement of manufacturing technologies is vital for enhancing the capabilities of medical devices such as nano/microrobots, wearable/implantable biosensors, and organ-on-chip systems, which serve to accurately acquire and analyze patients' physiopathological information and to perform patient-specific therapy. Electrospinning holds great promise in engineering materials and components for advanced medical devices, due to the demonstrated ability to advance the development of nanomaterial science. Nevertheless, challenges such as limited composition variety, uncontrollable fiber orientation, difficulties in incorporating fragile molecules and cells, and low production effectiveness hindered its further application. To overcome these challenges, advanced electrospinning techniques have been explored to manufacture functional composites, orchestrated structures, living constructs, and scale-up fabrication. This review delves into the recent advances of electrospinning techniques and underscores their potential in revolutionizing the field of precise medicine, upon introducing the fundamental information of conventional electrospinning techniques, as well as discussing the current challenges and future perspectives.

Abstract
Compared to other actuating methods, acoustic actuators offer the distinctive capability of the contactless manipulation of small objects, such as microscale and nanoscale robots. Furthermore, they have the ability to penetrate the skin, allowing for the trapping and manipulation of micro/nanorobots that carry therapeutic agents in diverse media. In this review, we summarize the current progress in using acoustic actuators for the manipulation of micro/nanorobots used in various biomedical applications. First, we introduce the actuating method of using acoustic waves to manipulate objects, including the principle of operation and different types of acoustic actuators that are usually employed. Then, applications involving manipulating different types of devices are reviewed, including bubble-based microrobots, bubble-free robots, biohybrid microrobots, and nanorobots. Finally, we discuss the challenges and future perspectives for the development of the field.

Abstract
The development of micro/nanorobots and their application in medical treatment holds the promise of revolutionizing disease diagnosis and treatment. In comparison to conventional diagnostic and treatment methods, micro/nanorobots exhibit immense potential due to their small size and the ability to penetrate deep tissues. However, the transition of this technology from the laboratory to clinical applications presents significant challenges. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the research progress in micro/nanorobotics, encompassing biosensors, diagnostics, targeted drug delivery, and minimally invasive surgery. It also addresses the key issues and challenges facing this technology. The fusion of micro/nanorobots with medical treatments is poised to have a profound impact on the future of medicine.

Abstract
Soft robotics is an emerging field showing immense potential for biomedical applications. This review summarizes recent advancements in soft robotics for in vitro and in vivo medical contexts. Their inherent flexibility, adaptability, and biocompatibility enable diverse capabilities from surgical assistance to minimally invasive diagnosis and therapy. Intelligent stimuli-responsive materials and bioinspired designs are enhancing functionality while improving biocompatibility. Additive manufacturing techniques facilitate rapid prototyping and customization. Untethered chemical, biological, and wireless propulsion methods are overcoming previous constraints to access new sites. Meanwhile, advances in tracking modalities like computed tomography, fluorescence and ultrasound imaging enable precision localization and control enable in vivo applications. While still maturing, soft robotics promises more intelligent, less invasive technologies to improve patient care. Continuing research into biocompatibility, power supplies, biomimetics, and seamless localization will help translate soft robots into widespread clinical practice.

However, it remains a challenge for manipulation of EVs production in vivo, which poses significant difficulties for EVs-based therapies that aim to promote tissue regeneration, particularly for long-term treatment of diseases like peripheral neuropathy. Herein, a superparamagnetic nanocomposite scaffold capable of controlling EVs production on-demand is constructed by incorporating polyethyleneglycol/polyethyleneimine modified superparamagnetic nanoparticles into a polyacrylamide/hyaluronic acid double-network hydrogel (Mag-gel). The Mag-gel is highly sensitive to a rotating magnetic field (RMF), and can act as mechano-stimulative platform to exert micro/nanoscale forces on encapsulated Schwann cells (SCs), an essential glial cell in supporting nerve regeneration. By switching the ON/OFF state of the RMF, the Mag-gel can scale up local production of SCs-derived EVs (SCs-EVs) both in vitro and in vivo. Further transcriptome sequencing indicates an enrichment of transcripts favorable in axon growth, angiogenesis, and inflammatory regulation of SCs-EVs in the Mag-gel with RMF, which ultimately results in optimized nerve repair in vivo. Overall, this research provides a noninvasive and remotely time-scheduled method for fine-tuning EVs-based therapies to accelerate tissue regeneration, including that of peripheral nerves.

Abstract
The advent of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy has resulted in unprecedented long-term clearance of relapse/refractory hematological malignancies in both pediatric and adult patients. However, severe toxicities, such as cytokine release syndrome and neurotoxicity, associated with CAR T cells affect therapeutic utility; and treatment efficacies for solid tumors are still not impressive. As a result, engineering strategies that modify other immune cell types, especially natural killer (NK) cells have arisen. Owing to both CAR-dependent and CAR-independent (innate immune-mediated) antitumor killing capacity, major histocompatibility complex-independent cytotoxicity, reduced risk of alloreactivity and lack of major CAR T cell toxicities, CAR NK cells constitute one of the promising next-generation CAR immune cells that are also amenable as 'off-the-shelf' therapeutics. In this Review, we compare CAR T and CAR NK cell therapies, with particular focus on immunological synapses, engineering strategies and challenges.

Abstract
Biohybrid magnetic microrobots (BMMs) have emerged as an exciting class of microrobots and have been considered as a promising platform in biomedicine. Many microorganisms and body's own cells show intriguing properties, such as morphological characteristics, biosafety, and taxis abilities (e.g., chemotaxis, aerotaxis), which have made them attractive for the fabrication of microrobots. For remote controllability and sustainable actuation, magnetic components are usually incorporated onto these biological entities, and other functionalized non-biological components (e.g., therapeutic agents) are also included for specific applications. This review highlights the latest developments in BMMs with a focus on their biomedical applications. It starts by introducing the fundamental understanding of the propulsion system at the microscale in a magnetically driven manner, followed by a summary of diverse BMMs based on different microorganisms and body's own cells along with their relevant applications. Finally, the review discusses how BMMs contribute to the advancements of microrobots, the current challenges of using BMMs in practical clinical settings, and the future perspectives of this exciting field. STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: Biohybrid magnetic microrobots (BMMs), composed of biological entities and functional parts, hold great potential and serve as a novel and promising platform for biomedical applications such as targeted drug delivery. This review comprehensively summarizes the recent advancements in BMMs for biomedical applications, mainly focused on the representative propulsion modalities in a magnetically propelled manner and diverse designs of BMMs based on different biological entities, including microorganisms and body's own cells. We hope this review can provide ideas for the future design, development, and innovation of micro/nanorobots in the field of biomedicine.

Abstract
Micro-nano robots have emerged as a promising research field with vast potential applications in biomedicine. The motor is the key component of micro-nano robot research, and the design of the motor is crucial. Among the most commonly used motors are those derived from living cells such as bacteria with flagella, sperm, and algal cells. Additionally, scientists have developed numerous self-adaptive biomimetic motors with biological functions, primarily cell membrane functionalized micromotors. This novel type of motor exhibits remarkable performance in complex media. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the structure and performance of micro-nano robots that utilize living cells and functionalized biological cell membranes. We also discuss potential practical applications of these mirco-nano robots as well as potential challenges that may arise in future development.

Abstract
Immunotherapies modulate the body's defense system to treat cancer. While these therapies have shown efficacy against multiple types of cancer, patient response rates are limited, and the off-target effects can be severe. Typical approaches in developing immunotherapies tend to focus on antigen targeting and molecular signaling, while overlooking biophysical and mechanobiological effects. Immune cells and tumor cells are both responsive to biophysical cues, which are prominent in the tumor microenvironment. Recent studies have shown that mechanosensing - including through Piezo1, adhesions, and Yes-associated protein (YAP) and transcriptional coactivator with PDZ-binding motif (TAZ) - influences tumor-immune interactions and immunotherapeutic efficacy. Furthermore, biophysical methods such as fluidic systems and mechanoactivation schemes can improve the controllability and manufacturing of engineered T cells, with potential for increasing therapeutic efficacy and specificity. This review focuses on leveraging advances in immune biophysics and mechanobiology toward improving chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell and anti-programmed cell death protein 1 (anti-PD-1) therapies.

Abstract
Micro and nanobots (MNBs) are unprecedented in their ability to be chemically tuned for autonomous tasks with enhanced targeting and functionality while maintaining their mobility. A myriad of chemical modifications involving a large variety of advanced materials have been demonstrated to be effective in the design of MNBs. Furthermore, they can be controlled for their autonomous motion, and their ability to carry chemical or biological payloads. In addition, MNBs can be modified to achieve targetability with specificity for biological implications. MNBs by virtue of their chemical compositions may be limited by their biocompatibility, tissue accumulation, poor biodegradability and toxicity. This review presents a note on artificial intelligence materials (AIMs), their importance, and the dimensional scales at which intrinsic autonomy can be achieved for diverse utility. We briefly discuss the evolution of such systems with a focus on their advancements in nanomedicine. We highlight MNBs covering their contemporary traits and the emergence of a few start-ups in specific areas. Furthermore, we showcase various examples, demonstrating that chemical tunability is an attractive primary approach for designing MNBs with immense capabilities both in biology and chemistry. Finally, we cover biosafety and ethical considerations in designing MNBs in the era of artificial intelligence for varied applications.

Abstract
Untethered robots in the size range of micro/nano-scale offer unprecedented access to hard-to-reach areas of the body. In these challenging environments, autonomous task completion capabilities of micro/nanorobots have been the subject of research in recent years. However, most of the studies have presented preliminary in vitro results that can significantly differ under in vivo settings. Here, we focus on the studies conducted with animal models to reveal the current status of micro/nanorobotic applications in real-world conditions. By a categorization based on target locations, we highlight the main strategies employed in organs and other body parts. We also discuss key challenges that require interest before the successful translation of micro/nanorobots to the clinic.
