Abstract
Organocatalytic, enantioselective decarboxylative Mannich reactions of α,β-unsaturated β'-ketoacids and isatin N-Boc imines, to give the corresponding 3-carbamoyl-2-oxindole derivatives, were developed. Subsequent N-deprotection and diastereoselective, intramolecular, aza-Michael reaction of the free amine provides previously unreported spiro[indoline-3,2'-piperidine]-2,4'-diones.

Abstract
Here, we demonstrated a copper(II)-catalyzed enantioselective addition of aryl amines to isatin-derived N-Boc-ketimines using chiral O-N-N tridentate ligands derived from BINOL and proline. Generally, the chiral acyclic N,N'-ketals were obtained in high yields (up to 98%) and excellent ee values (up to 98%). Various aryl amines could be tolerated and a gram-scale reaction was also possible. Further, an X-ray diffraction experiment confirmed that the configuration of isatin-derived N-Boc ketimine should be (Z). Confirmation of the configuration of the ketimine would make it easier to understand the rationale for stereofacial selective activation of the electrophile with either organo- or Lewis acid-based catalysts.

Abstract
A quinine-derived thiourea-promoted enantioselective aza-Friedel-Crafts reaction of 3-aminobenzofurans with isatin-derived ketimines is developed, providing a variety of 3-benzofuran-3-amino-2-oxindoles bearing a quaternary stereocenter with good to excellent yields (72-95%) and moderate to excellent enantioselectivities (48-97%). The synthetic potential of this concise and efficient protocol is revealed by gram-scale preparation and further transformation of the adduct to an optically pure spirocyclic oxindole.

Abstract
The aza-Friedel-Crafts reaction allows an efficient coupling of electron-rich aromatic systems with imines for the facile incorporation of aminoalkyl groups into the aromatic ring. This reaction has a great scope of forming aza-stereocenters which can be tuned by different asymmetric catalysts. This review assembles recent advances in asymmetric aza-Friedel-Crafts reactions mediated by organocatalysts. The mechanistic interpretation with the origin of stereoselectivity is also explained.

Abstract
By employing a chiral phosphoric acid as a catalyst, an enantioselective aza-Friedel-Crafts reaction of 5-aminoisoxazoles with isatin-derived N-Boc ketimines was realized. The reaction provided a wide variety of novel 3-isoxazole 3-amino-oxindoles with good yields (up to 99%) and moderate to good enantioselectivities (up to 99%). The absolute configuration of one product was assigned by X-ray crystal structural analysis and a plausible reaction mechanism was proposed. In addition, a scale-up reaction was performed successfully. Finally, one product was subjected to Suzuki-Miyaura coupling with phenylboronic acid to afford the product in a moderate yield without erosion of the enantioselectivity.
