Abstract
A novel, eco-friendly, and efficient method for constructing 2,3-disubstituted chromone skeletons from readily available water, o-hydroxyaryl enaminones (o-HPEs), and aryldiazonium salts has been developed under mild reaction conditions. This α,β-C(sp2)-H bond difunctionalization/chromone annulation reaction strategy is achieved by building two C(sp3)-O bonds and a C(sp2)-N bond, which provides a practical pathway for the preparation of 2-hydroxy-3-hydrazono-chromones in moderate to excellent yields, enabling broad substrate scope and good functional group tolerance, as well as gram-scale synthesis. This protocol offers a valuable tool for synthesizing diverse functionalized chromones with potential applications in drug discovery and industrial synthesis.

Abstract
The Michael addition of anilines to β-chloroenones gives enaminones by the elimination of hydrochloric acid (HCl). These enaminones are transformed into α-chloroenaminones via in situ sp2 C-H functionalization. Anilines that are attached to an electron-donating group react more readily with β-chloroenone to give the corresponding products in excellent yields. A highly atom-economical method has been developed using dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as a green oxidant and solvent. The desired α-functionalized enaminones are formed in good yields with excellent Z-selectivity. We have established the generality of this reaction with many substrates, and scaled-up reactions have been performed to showcase the practical applications. A catalyst-free double annulation of β-chloroenones with o-phenylenediamine has also been demonstrated for the synthesis of 1,4-benzodiazepine derivatives in moderate yields under mild reaction conditions.

Abstract
Herein, we disclosed a highly efficient pathway toward 3-selenylated chromone derivatives via electrocatalytic cascade selenylation/cyclization/deamination of 2-hydroxyaryl enaminones with diselenides. This method showed mild conditions, easy operation, wide substrate scope, and good functional group tolerance. Furthermore, this electrosynthesis strategy was amendable to scale-up the reaction. Additionally, the preliminary experiments revealed that this reaction probably proceeded via a cation pathway instead of a radical pathway.

Abstract
In light of the important biological activities and widespread applications of organic disulfides, dithiocarbamates, xanthates, thiocarbamates and thiocarbonates, the continual persuit of efficient methods for their synthesis remains crucial. Traditionally, the preparation of such compounds heavily relied on intricate multi-step syntheses and the use of highly prefunctionalized starting materials. Over the past two decades, the direct sulfuration of C-H bonds has evolved into a straightforward, atom- and step-economical method for the preparation of organosulfur compounds. This review aims to provide an up-to-date discussion on direct C-H disulfuration, dithiocarbamation, xanthylation, thiocarbamation and thiocarbonation, with a special focus on describing scopes and mechanistic aspects. Moreover, the synthetic limitations and applications of some of these methodologies, along with the key unsolved challenges to be addressed in the future are also discussed. The majority of examples covered in this review are accomplished via metal-free, photochemical or electrochemical approaches, which are in alignment with the overraching objectives of green and sustainable chemistry. This comprehensive review aims to consolidate recent advancements, providing valuable insights into the dynamic landscape of efficient and sustainable synthetic strategies for these crucial classes of organosulfur compounds.

Abstract
A novel and metal-free [3 + 2] annulation of tetraalkylthiuram disulfide with alkynes/alkenes has been developed using Selectfluor at room temperature. The formed 1,3-dithiol-2-ylium/1,3-dithiolan-2-ylium salts can be easily transformed into the corresponding 1,3-dithiol-2-ylidenes/1,3-ditholan-2-ylidenes by one-pot subsequent condensation with malononitrile. The present protocol features the use of easily accessible starting materials, mild reaction conditions, good tolerance with diverse functional groups, easy scale-up, and a wide substrate scope, affording the desired products in good yields. Importantly, this method is suitable for the late-stage modification of bioactive molecules. Furthermore, 1,3-dithiol-2-ylium salt can also be easily converted into various 1,3-dithiole derivatives by condensation, reduction, or hydrolysis. Mechanism studies show that this transformation involves radical annulation. Of note, this method presented a novel example using tetraalkylthiuram disulfide as a sulfur synthon in annulation, which greatly enriches the application of tetraalkylthiuram disulfides in organic synthesis. Biological evaluation indicates that these prepared compounds are promising candidates in terms of their antitumor activity.

Abstract
A facile cascade reaction for the site selective synthesis of 2-cyanochromones is described. By using simple o-hydroxyphenyl enaminones and potassium ferrocyanide trihydrate (K4[Fe(CN)6]3·3H2O) as starting materials and I2/AlCl3 as promoters, the products are furnished via tandem chromone ring formation and C-H cyanation. The in situ formation of 3-iodochromone and a formal 1,2-hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) process account for the unconventional site selectivity. In addition, the synthesis of 2-cyanoquinolin-4-one has been realized by employing corresponding 2-aminophenyl enaminone as substrate.

This is a metal-free iodine/TBHP-mediated one-pot multicomponent reaction, which follows C-H functionalization of the imidazo[1,5-a]pyridine skeleton formed during the reaction and its subsequent sulfenylation in the same step to offer sulfenylated imidazo[1,5-a]pyridines in good to high yields. The extension and applications of this method have also been demonstrated.

Abstract
Here, we describe a copper-mediated tandem decarboxylative coupling/annulation protocol of o-hydroxyaryl enaminones with 3-indoleacetic acids. A series of 3-indolmethyl-chromones were afforded in up to 97% yield. A one-pot method for 3-indolmethyl-chromones from o-hydroxy acetophenones, N, N-dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal, and 3-indoleacetic acids was also developed. Derivatization of the products was conducted to provide various indolmethyl-substituted pyrimidines. Moreover, a biological evaluation revealed that some compounds had anti-influenza viral activities.

Abstract
A new and metal-free three-component method for the synthesis of 2,4-disubstituted quinolines via the reactions of anilines, α-keto acids and alkyl lactates is reported. The reactions proceed in the presence of p-toluene sulfonic acid (p-TSA) and tert-butyl peroxybenzoate (TBPB) to provide diverse quinoline products via the construction of new CC double, C-C single and CN double bonds without producing any organic mass-based side product. Notably, the anti-inflammatory activity of the quinolines has been investigated by measuring their ability to inhibit NO release by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced RAW264.7 cells, leading to the identification of 4i, 4t and 4x as potent anti-inflammatory compounds in vitro.

Abstract
Ultrasound has been successfully employed to promote the thiocyanation of the C═C bond in enaminones for the synthesis of α-thiocyanoketones and 2-aminothiazoles. The reactions of enaminones with ammonium thiocyanate provide α-thiocyanoketones with ultrasound irradiation at room temperature. More interestingly, simply further heating the vessel after ultrasonic irradiation leads to the selective synthesis of 2-aminothiazoles with an unconventional 4-aryl substructure.

Abstract
Herein, the copper-catalyzed annulation of enaminones with alkynyl esters for the facile synthesis of different pyrroles with a 2,3,4,5-tetrasubstituted structure has been developed. With Cu(OAc)2 as the only catalyst, the tunable synthesis of 2-vinyl and 2,3-dicarboxyl-functionalized pyrroles has been achieved by using terminal and internal alkynyl esters, respectively. The synthesis of 2-vinyl pyrroles represents the first example accessing 2-vinyl substituted pyrroles via direct cascade reactions involving vinylation and pyrrole ring formation.

Abstract
Reported herein is a photoredox-catalyzed amination of o-hydroxyarylenaminones with tert-butyl ((perfluoropyridin-4-yl)oxy)carbamate, a versatile amidyl-radical precursor developed in our laboratory. This work establishes a new cascade pathway for the assembly of a range of 3-aminochromones under mild conditions. Downstream transformations of the obtained 3-aminochromones to construct diverse amino pyrimidines greatly broaden the applications of this photocatalyzed protocol.
