Abstract
A visible light-promoted, efficient, green, and sustainable strategy has been adopted to unlatch a new pathway toward the synthesis of a library of medicinally important 4,4'-(arylmethylene)bis(1H-pyrazol-5-ols) moieties using substituted aromatic aldehydes and sterically hindered 3-methyl-1-phenyl-2-pyrazoline-5-one in excellent yield. This reaction shows high functional group tolerance and provides a cost-effective and catalyst-free protocol for the quick synthesis of biologically active compounds from readily available substrates. Synthesized compounds were characterized by spectroscopic techniques such as IR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, and single-crystal XRD analysis. All the synthesized compounds were evaluated for their antiproliferative activities against a panel of five different human cancer cell lines and compared with Tamoxifen using MTT assay. Compound 3m exhibited maximum antiproliferative activity and was found to be more active as compared to Tamoxifen against both the MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cell lines with an IC50 of 5.45 and 9.47 μM, respectively. A molecular docking study with respect to COVID-19 main protease (Mpro) (PDB ID: 6LU7) has also been carried out which shows comparatively high binding affinity of compounds 3f and 3g (-8.3 and -8.8 Kcal/mole, respectively) than few reported drugs such as ritonavir, remdesivir, ribacvirin, favipiravir, hydroxychloroquine, chloroquine, and olsaltamivir. Hence, it reveals the possibility of these compounds to be used as effective COVID-19 inhibitors.

Abstract
Two kinds of [3 + 2] cycloaddition intermediates generated from the three-component reactions of 2-bromobenzaldehydes and maleimides with amino esters or amino acids were used for a one-pot N-allylation and intramolecular Heck reactions to form pyrrolidinedione-fused hexahydropyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinolines. The multicomponent reaction was combined with one-pot reactions to make a synthetic method with good pot, atom and step economy. MeCN was used as a preferable green solvent for the reactions.

Abstract
This first review on this topic focuses on the developments in the chemistry of Pd-catalyzed multi-component reactions (MCRs). MCRs are generally atom economic, ideal and eco-friendly reactions, and often the final products are generated almost without any by-products. In this review, the developments in Pd-catalyzed MCRs are categorized based on the products formed such as acyclic compounds, carbocyclic compounds, heterocyclic compounds and miscellaneous compounds. MCRs have great applications in various fields like medicinal chemistry, combinatorial synthesis, heterocyclic chemistry etc. and this review covers the literature up to 2019.

Abstract
Dispiro-pyrrolidino/pyrrolizidino fused oxindoles/acenaphthoquinones have been derived from andrographolide via azomethine ylide cycloaddition to the conjugated double-bond under microwave (MW) irradiation. The reactions are chemo-, stereo-, and regioselective in nature. Change in amino acid from sarcosine/N-benzyl glycine to l-proline changes the regiochemistry. A representative library of 40 compounds along with in vitro anticancer evaluation is reported.

Abstract
Titanocene(II)-promoted cross coupling of alkynyl- and (Z)-alkenyl sulfones affords alpha-(phenylsulfonyl)alkenyltitanium species. Further treatment of these species with the titanocene(II) reagent generates titanium vinylvinylidene complexes, which react with carbonyl compounds in one pot to produce substituted vinylallenes with complete stereoselectivity. By using alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones, 1,3,4,6-tetraenes are also obtained stereoselectively.

Abstract
For a long time multi-component syntheses of heterocycles have undeniably been a domain of classical carbonyl condensation chemistry. However, the advent of transition-metal catalysis not only has fertilized strategies in heterocyclic synthesis by uni- and bimolecular transformations but the past decade has also witnessed a rapid development of transition-metal catalysis in new multi-component reactions (MCR). Expectedly, palladium catalyzed processes have received a dominant position, yet, other transition-metal complexes are catching up implying organometallic elementary steps that reach even further than cross-coupling and carbometallation. Besides domino MCRs that are purely based upon organometallic catalysis the sequential and consecutive combination with condensation, addition and cycloaddition steps opens a vast playground for the invention of new sequences in heterocyclic synthesis. This tutorial review outlines the underlying reaction based principles of transition-metal catalysis in multi-component syntheses of heterocycles, summarizes recent developments of palladium catalyzed MCR, and highlights the more recent contributions to MCR based heterocyclic synthesis by virtue of rhodium, ruthenium, and copper catalysis.
