Abstract
Histological terminology of the female genital organs is currently a part of the internationally accepted nomenclature Terminologia Histologica (TH), the latest edition of which dates back to 2008. Many new discoveries have been documented within 16 years since then, and many discrepancies have been found. This paper aims to revise the terminology from clinical and educational perspectives comprehensively. The authors thoroughly searched the current edition of "Terminologia Histologica: International Terms for Human Cytology and Histology," focusing on missing and controversial terms in the chapter Female genital system. The authors identified six controversial and ambiguous terms and four missing important histological terms. The authors also discussed the addition of less used eponymic terms in the histological description of female genital organs like Hamperl cells, Popescu cells, Kroemer lacunae, Balbiani bodies, Call-Exner bodies, membrane of Slavianski, nabothian cysts, or anogenital sweat glands of van der Putte. We expect the second and revised edition of the TH to be published soon and hope that the Federative International Program on Anatomical Terminology will approve and incorporate all these propositions and suggestions. We also strongly recommend using the official internationally accepted Latin and English histological nomenclature-the TH, either in oral or written form, both in theoretical and clinical medicine.

Abstract
Background There is an ongoing controversy about women's sexuality and the existence of different orgasms. The debate is tilted toward anatomical and physiological evidence, which often leaves subjective experiences out of the picture. The aim of the current mixed-methods study was to capture women's accounts of their experiences of orgasmic states. Methods As part of a larger online survey, 513 women (M = 25.89 years, SD = 5.60) from a community sample filled in open-ended questions on their experience of different kinds of orgasms. Additionally, women rated semantic differentials with bipolar adjectives characterizing vaginal and clitoral orgasms. A sub-sample of n = 257 women (50%) had experienced both, vaginal and clitoral orgasms and rated both separately on the semantic differential. Results Wilcoxon signed-rank test showed significant differences in that clitoral orgasms were, amongst others, rated as sharper, easier, and more controllable, while vaginal orgasms were rated as wilder, deeper, more pulsating, and extending. In open-ended questions, women talked about various other orgasmic experiences, such as mixed clitoral/vaginal orgasms, whole body, cervical, anal, or mental orgasms. Some women were uncertain about their orgasmic experiences. Conclusion It is time to integrate anatomical, psychophysiological, and experiential data and conclude that either "all clitoral" or "clitoral and vaginal" falls short to do justice to the complexity of women's orgasms. Understanding and defining these various types of orgasms and allowing for the apparent diversity to have its place in research and in social discourse is a task for future research and pleasure-positive sex education to increase pleasure literacy.

Abstract
The ability of the vagina to contract gives rise to a set of active mechanical properties that contribute to the complex function of this organ in-vivo. Regional differences in the morphology of the vagina have been long recognized, but the large heterogeneous deformations that the vagina experiences during contractions have never been quantified. Furthermore, there is no consensus regarding differences in contractility along the two primary anatomical directions of the vagina: the longitudinal direction (LD) and the circumferential direction (CD). In this study, square vaginal specimens from healthy virgin rats (n=15) were subjected to isometric planar biaxial tests at four equi-biaxial stretches of 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3. Contractions were induced at each stretch by a high concentration potassium solution. The digital image correlation method was used to perform full-field strain measurements during contractions. The vagina was found to undergo significantly higher compressive strains, tensile strains, and contractile forces along the LD than along the CD during contractions. Specifically, when computed over all the applied equi-biaxial stretches, mean (± std. dev.) absolute maximum compressive strains were -(13.43 ± 1.56)% along the LD and -(3.19 ± 0.25)% along the CD, mean absolute maximum tensile strains were (10.92 ± 1.73)% along the LD and (3.62 ± 0.57)% along the CD, and mean maximum contractile forces were 6.24 ± 0.55 mN along the LD and 3.35 ± 0.56 mN along the CD. Moreover, the vaginal tissue appeared to undergo compression in the proximal region and tension in the distal region while kept at constant equi-biaxial stretches. The active mechanical properties of the healthy vagina need to be fully investigated so that detrimental alterations in vaginal contractility, such as those caused by pelvic floor disorders and current treatment strategies, can be prevented. STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: Contractile forces of the vagina have been measured by several investigators using uniaxial tensile testing methods. Unlike previous studies, in this study planar-biaxial tests of vaginal specimens were performed while the full-field strains of the vagina, as induced by smooth muscle contraction, were measured. The vagina was found to generate significantly larger contractile strains and forces in the longitudinal direction than in the circumferential direction. Knowledge of the contractile mechanics of the healthy vagina is essential to understand the detrimental effects that pelvic organ prolapse and the use of surgical meshes have on the functionality of smooth muscle in the vagina.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The article consists of six sections written by separate authors that review female genital anatomy, the physiology of female sexual function, and the pathophysiology of female sexual dysfunction but excluding hormonal aspects. AIM To review the physiology of female sexual function and the pathophysiology of female sexual dysfunction especially since 2010 and to make specific recommendations according to the Oxford Centre for evidence based medicine (2009) "levels of evidence" wherever relevant. CONCLUSION Recommendations were made for particular studies to be undertaken especially in controversial aspects in all six sections of the reviewed topics. Despite numerous laboratory assessments of female sexual function, genital assessments alone appear insufficient to characterise fully the complete sexual response.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The nature of a woman's orgasm has been a source of scientific, political, and cultural debate for over a century. Since the Victorian era, the pendulum has swung from the vagina to the clitoris, and to some extent back again, with the current debate stuck over whether internal sensory structures exist in the vagina that could account for orgasms based largely on their stimulation, or whether stimulation of the external glans clitoris is always necessary for orgasm. METHOD We review the history of the clitoral versus vaginal orgasm debate as it has evolved with conflicting ideas and data from psychiatry and psychoanalysis, epidemiology, evolutionary theory, feminist political theory, physiology, and finally neuroscience. RESULTS A new synthesis is presented that acknowledges the enormous potential women have to experience orgasms from one or more sources of sensory input, including the external clitoral glans, internal region around the "G-spot" that corresponds to the internal clitoral bulbs, the cervix, as well as sensory stimulation of non-genital areas such as the nipples. CONCLUSIONS With experience, stimulation of one or all of these triggering zones are integrated into a "whole" set of sensory inputs, movements, body positions, autonomic arousal, and partner- and contextual-related cues, that reliably induces pleasure and orgasm during masturbation and copulation. The process of integration is iterative and can change across the lifespan with new experiences of orgasm.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION There is much popular discussion on strategies to facilitate multiple orgasms in men (ie, 100,000+ hits in Google), yet the topic has not received an objective comprehensive review in the literature. AIM To review the literature on male multiple orgasms. METHODS We searched the literature for publications on "male multiple orgasms" and factors influencing male multiple orgasms in Google, PubMed, and PsychINFO. This yielded 15 relevant publications. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES A comprehensive overview on the topic of male multiple orgasms and factors that influence the propensity of men to experience multiple orgasms. RESULTS Few men are multiorgasmic: <10% for those in their 20s, and <7% after the age of 30. The literature suggests 2 types of male multiple orgasms: "sporadic" multiorgasms, with interorgasmic intervals of several minutes, and "condensed" multiorgasms, with bursts of 2-4 orgasms within a few seconds to 2 minutes. Multiple orgasms appear physiologically similar to the single orgasm in mono-orgasmic men. However, in a single case study, a multiorgasmic man did not experience with his first orgasm the prolactin surge that usually occurs with orgasm in mono-orgasmic men. Various factors may facilitate multiple orgasms: (1) practicing to have an orgasm without ejaculation; (2) using psychostimulant drugs; (3) having multiple and/or novel sexual partners; or (4) using sex toys to enhance tactile stimulation. However, confirmatory physiological data on any of these factors are few. In some cases, the ability to experience multiple orgasms may increase after medical procedures that reduce ejaculation (eg, prostatectomy or castration), but what factor(s) influence this phenomenon is poorly investigated. CONCLUSION Despite popular interest, the topic of male multiple orgasms has received surprisingly little scientific assessment. The role of ejaculation and physiological change during the refractory period in inhibiting multiple orgasms has barely been investigated.
