Abstract
Interfacial materials tend to alter the crystallization, films growth and defect formation process of the as-deposited perovskites, which has been a critical and fundamental factor in determining the efficiency and operational stability of perovskite-based optoelectronic devices. This review explores the underlying mechanism of interfacial reactions, which can either result in degradations or be beneficial. The influence of interfacial reactions, mainly interface-induced deprotonation of organic cations and amidation processes, are discussed in relation to their impact on perovskite film growth and ensuing optoelectronic device performance. It is further proposed strategies to regulate these reactions and mitigate their negative effects to achieve high performance optoelectronic devices.

Abstract
Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) compete with conventional solar cells regarding their low-temperature processing and suitable power conversion efficiency. In PSCs, the electron transport layer (ETL) plays a vital role in charge extraction and avoiding recombination; however, poor charge transport of ETL leads to high internal resistance and associated low fill factors. To successfully resolve this challenge, copper-doped zinc oxide nanofibers as an electron transport layer are prepared with various doping levels of 1, 2, and 3 wt% using the electrospinning sol-gel method. The 3 wt% doping of Cu revealed the optimum performance as an ETL, as it offers an electrically efficient transporting structure. SEM images revealed a randomly oriented distribution of nanofibers with different sizes having mesoporous uniformity. Optical properties of doped nanofibers examined using UV-visible analysis showed an extended light absorption due to heteroatom-doping. Adding Cu into the ZnO leads to enhanced charge mobility across the electron transport material. According to Hall measurements, dopant concentration favors the conductivity and other features essentially required for charge extraction and transport. The solar cell efficiency of ZnO doped with 0%, 1%, 2%, and 3% Cu is 4.94%, 5.97%, 6.89%, and 9.79%, respectively. The antibacterial and photocatalytic activities of the prepared doped and undoped ZnO are also investigated. The better light absorption of Cu-ZnO showed a pronounced improvement in the photocatalytic activity of textile electrodes loaded with doped ZnO. The dye degradation rate reaches 95% in 180 min under visible light. In addition, these textile electrodes showed strong antibacterial activity due to the production of reactive oxygen species under light absorption.

Abstract
The heterogeneous photocatalysis is known to provide significant degradation and mineralization of emerging contaminants including antibiotics. For this, nanosized Mg0.3Zn0.7O (MZO) was prepared by nitrate route to be used as photocatalyst. The single-phase was confirmed by X-ray diffraction with a crystallite size of 33 nm. The morphology was visualized by scanning electron microscope/energy-dispersive X-ray analysis. The physicochemical properties were studied by the FTIR, XPS, and optical analyses. The diffuse reflectance gives a direct forbidden band of 3.26 eV. The electrochemical characterization showed an n-type semiconductor with a flat band of - 0.56 VAg/AgCl. The photodegradation of Cefixime (CFX) was carried out under solar light; the operating parameters such as the catalyst dose, solution pH, and initial CFX concentration (Co) were optimized. The best performance occurs at neutral pH ~ 6 within 4 h with an abatement of 94% for an initial CFX concentration of 5 mg/L and MZO dose of 0.75 g/L. The photodegradation follows a first-order kinetic with an apparent rate constant of 0.012 min-1. The effects of scavenging agents indicated the dominant role of hydroxyl •OH followed by the holes (h+). The results showed the potentiality of MZO as an environmentally friendly photocatalyst for CFX photodegradation.

Abstract
In this research, electrolyte-insulator-semiconductor (EIS) capacitors with Sb2O3 sensing membranes were fabricated. The results indicate that Mg doping and Ti-doped Sb2O3 membranes with appropriate annealing had improved material quality and sensing performance. Multiple material characterizations and sensing measurements of Mg-doped and Ti doping on Sb2O3 sensing membranes were conducted, including of X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). These detailed studies indicate that silicate and defects in the membrane could be suppressed by doping and annealing. Moreover, compactness enhancement, crystallization and grainization, which reinforced the surface sites on the membrane and boosted the sensing factor, could be achieved by doping and annealing. Among all of the samples, Mg doped membrane with annealing at 400 °C had the most preferable material properties and sensing behaviors. Mg-doped Sb2O3-based with appropriate annealing are promising for future industrial ionsensing devices and for possible integration with Sb2O3-based semiconductor devices.

Abstract
In this study, high transparent thin films were prepared by radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering from a conventional solid state target based on ZnO:MgO:Al2O3 (10:2 wt %) material. The films were deposited on glass and silicon substrates at the different working pressures of 0.21, 0.61, 0.83 and 1 Pa, 300 °C and 250 W of power. X-ray diffraction patterns (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM), UV-vis absorption and Hall effect measurements were used to evaluate the structural, optical, morphological and electrical properties of thin films as a function of the working pressure. The optical properties of the films, such as the refractive index, the extinction coefficient and the band gap energy were systematically studied. The optical band gap of thin films was estimated from the calculated absorption coefficient. That parameter, ranged from 3.921 to 3.655 eV, was hardly influenced by the working pressure. On the other hand, the lowest resistivity of 8.8 × 10−2 Ω cm−1 was achieved by the sample deposited at the lowest working pressure of 0.21 Pa. This film exhibited the best optoelectronic properties. All these data revealed that the prepared thin layers would offer a good capability to be used in photovoltaic applications.

Abstract
This study compared the sensing characteristics of ZnO (ZO) treated with ammonia (NH3) plasma for 1 min, 3 min, and 6 min, under the EIS structure. The measurement results revealed that, after 3 min of NH3 plasma treatment, the Mg-doped ZnO (MZO) sensing film had a high hydrogen ion sensitivity, linearity, hysteresis, and drift rate of 53.82 mV/pH, 99.04%, 2.52 mV, and 1.75 mV/h, respectively. The sensing film was used with sodium and potassium ion solutions, and it performed satisfactorily in sensing hydrogen ions. Additionally, we investigated the biomedical sensing properties of Mg-doped ZnO (MZO) sensing film with regard to urea, creatinine, and glucose solutions and found that the Mg-doped ZnO (MZO) sensing film treated with NH3 plasma for 3 min had the best properties for sensing urea, creatinine, and glucose. Specifically, with glucose, the sensing film achieved the best linearity and sensitivity and of 97.87% and 10.73 mV/mM, respectively. The results revealed that the sensing characteristics varied with the processing environment and are useful in the developing biomedical sensing applications with different sensing elements.

Abstract
Highly efficient tandem quantum-dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) are developed by using an interconnecting layer (ICL) with the structure of ZnMgO/Al/HATCN/MoO3. The developed ICL exhibits high transparency, efficient charge generation/injection capability, and high robustness to resist solvent damage during deposition of the upper functional layers. With the proposed ICL, full color (red/green/blue, R/G/B) tandem QLEDs are demonstrated with extremely high current efficiency and external quantum efficiency (EQE): 17.9 cd/A and 21.4% for B-QLEDs, 121.5 cd/A and 27.6% for G-QLEDs, 41.5 cd/A and 23.1% for R-QLEDs. To the best of our knowledge, these are the highest values ever reported. In addition, the EQEs of R-, G-, and B-QLEDs all exceed 21%. The high efficiency can be well maintained over a wide range of luminance from 102 to 104 cd/m2. For example, even at a high brightness of 20 000 cd/m2, the EQE of R-, G-, and B-QLEDs can still sustain its 96%, 99%, and 78% maximum value, respectively. The demonstrated full-color tandem QLEDs, with extremely high efficiency, long operational lifetime, low roll-off efficiency, and high color purity, would be ideal candidates to bring QLEDs into the next generation of full-color displays and the solid-state lighting market.

Abstract
Novel chitosan-zinc copper oxide (Zn1-xCuxO) composites were electrochemically synthesized through galvanostatic deposition. The prepared chitosan-based composite thin films were elaborately investigated to determine their structural, morphological, compositional, impedance, and corrosion properties. X-ray diffraction analysis was performed to reveal their structural orientation of composite thin films. Energy dispersive analysis by X-ray evidently confirmed the existence of Zn, Cu, and O in the composite thin films. Nyquist plots revealed that the chitosan-Zn1-xCuxO thin films had obvious semi-circular boundaries, and higher resistance was observed for chitosan-ZnO due to the grain boundary effect. Corrosion properties were evaluated using both an electrochemical method and the ASTM weight gain method, which revealed good corrosion rates of 34 and 35 × 10-3 mm/y, respectively, for chitosan-ZnO thin film.

Abstract
Magnesium-doped ZnO (ZMO) nanoparticles were synthesized through an oxalate coprecipitation method. Crystallization of ZMO upon thermal decomposition of the oxalate precursors was investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques. XRD studies point toward a significant c-axis compression and reduced crystallite sizes for ZMO samples in contrast to undoped ZnO, which was further confirmed by HRSEM studies. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), UV/vis spectroscopy and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy were employed to establish the electronic and optical properties of these nanoparticles. (XPS) studies confirmed the substitution of Zn(2+) by Mg(2+), crystallization of MgO secondary phase, and increased Zn-O bond strengths in Mg-doped ZnO samples. Textural properties of these ZMO samples obtained at various calcination temperatures were superior in comparison to the undoped ZnO. In addition to this, ZMO samples exhibited a blue-shift in the near band edge photoluminescence (PL) emission, decrease of PL intensities and superior sunlight-induced photocatalytic decomposition of methylene blue in contrast to undoped ZnO. The most active photocatalyst 0.1-MgZnO obtained after calcination at 600 °C showed a 2-fold increase in photocatalytic activity compared to the undoped ZnO. Band gap widening, superior textural properties and efficient electron-hole separation were identified as the factors responsible for the enhanced sunlight-driven photocatalytic activities of Mg-doped ZnO nanoparticles.
