Abstract
BACKGROUND The increased production and use of chiral pesticides will enhance their exposure in the environment. Chiral pesticides typically exhibit varied biological effects among these enantiomers. Therefore, it is very essential to develop and validate chiral analytical methods to investigate their potential ecological risks from a stereoselective perspective. Current separation of pesticides enantiomers relies extensively on chiral stationary phases (CSPs), while the development of β-Cyclodextrin derivatives CSPs become the research focus due to their great modifiability and excellent chiral recognition capabilities. RESULTS A novel chiral stationary phase, 3,5-dichlorophenylaminomethyl-6-phenylenediamine-β-cyclodextrin chemically bonded silica gel (MPDCDA), was successfully prepared. Based on that, a stereoselective HPLC-MS/MS method was developed and validated for the determination of tebuconazole enantiomers in Rana nigromaculata tadpoles. After extraction by QuEChERS, the tebuconazole enantiomers were completely separated with the resolutions of 1.63 using the mobile phase of methanol-water (70/30, v/v). Good linearity (r > 0.9990) for both enantiomers over a concentration range of 0.20-500.0 ng/mL was obtained with the accuracy ranged from 6.7 % to 9.3 % and the intra-day and inter-day precisions below 6.2 % at three quality control levels. The proposed method was successfully applied in evaluating the enantioselective bioaccumulation and elimination profiles of tebuconazole in tadpoles. At the tested conditions, there was no significantly enantioselective difference in the bioaccumulation process for S- tebuconazole and R-tebuconazole. However, the elimination process of tebuconazole enantiomers was enantioselective with R-tebuconazole preferentially degraded. SIGNIFICANCE This work provided an accurate risk assessment of chiral pesticides to non-target aquatic organisms from a stereoselective perspective. These findings would deepen our understanding of the potential ecological risks of chiral pesticides on aquatic organisms and provide scientific support for the protection of aquatic organisms and their ecological environments, as well as sustainable development.

Abstract
The last two decades have seen the rapid expansion of click chemistry methodology in various domains closely related to organic chemistry. It has notably been widely developed in the area of surface chemistry, mainly because of the high-yielding character of reactions of the "click" type. Especially, this powerful chemical reaction toolbox has been adapted to the preparation of stationary phases from the corresponding chromatographic supports. A plethora of selectors can thus be immobilized on either organic, inorganic, or hybrid stationary phases that can be used in different chromatographic modes. This review first highlights the few different chemical ligation strategies of the "click" type that are up to now mainly devoted to the development of functionalized supports for separation sciences. Then, it gives in a second part an up-to-date survey of the different studies dedicated to the preparation of click chemistry-based chromatographic supports while highlighting the powerful and versatile character of the "click" ligation strategy for the design, synthesis, and developments of more and more complex systems that can find promising applications in the area of analytical sciences, in domains as varied as enantioselective separation, glycomics, proteomics, genomics, metabolomics, etc.

Abstract
A novel β-cyclodextrin derivative chemically bonded chiral stationary phase (EDACD) was synthesized by the reaction of mono-6-ethylenediamine-β-cyclodextrin with the active alkyl isocyanate, anchoring to silica gel. After the successful analysis and characterization using scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectra, solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectra, elemental analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis techniques, the enantioselective performance of the as-prepared EDACD column was evaluated by non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs and flavonoids under the reversed-phase HPLC condition. The factors that affected enantioseparation including mobile phase compositions and buffers were investigated in more detail. As a result, EDACD showed a satisfactory enantioselectivity for the tested drugs. With the mobile phase of acetonitrile and 20-mM ammonium formate adjusted to pH 4.0 using formic acid (85:15, v/v) at the flow rate of 0.6 mL min-1, the enantiomers of ibuprofen, carprofen, naproxen, indoprofen, ketoprofen, eriocitrin, naringin, and narirutin were separated with the best resolutions of 1.53, 1.64, 3.72, 2.40, 0.50, 0.61, 0.58, and 0.52. To adjust the proportion of acetonitrile to 80% (by volume), the enantiomers of pranoprofen and flurbiprofen were completely resolved with the best resolutions of 1.60 and 1.59. Additionally, by the study of the molecular docking, hydrogen bonding and inclusion complexation were believed to play an important role in chiral recognition. As a new material, EDACD will have a wider application in the analysis of chiral compounds.

Abstract
In this study, perphenylcarbamated cyclodextrin clicked chiral stationary phase (CSP) was developed with high column efficiency. The characteristics of the column were evaluated in terms of linearity, limit of detection and limit of quantification. The enantioselectivity of the as-prepared clicked CSP was explored with 26 recemates including aryl alcohols, flavanoids and adrenergic drugs in reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography. The effect of separation parameters including flow rate, column temperature, organic modifier and buffer on the enantioselectivity of the clicked CSP was investigated in detail. The correlation study of the analytes structure and their chiral resolution revealed the great influence of analytes' structure on the enantioseparations with cyclodextrin CSP. Methanol with 1% of triethylammonium acetate buffer (pH 4) was proved to be the best choice for the chiral separation of basic enantiomers.

Abstract
Cyclodextrin-bonded silica material is one of the most commonly used chiral stationary phases in liquid chromatography for pharmaceutical analysis and enantioseparations. The approaches for immobilization of cyclodextrins onto the silica surface influence both, the stability of the chiral stationary phase and the enantioselectivity. In this chapter, we describe an established example of the preparation of a cyclodextrin-based chiral stationary phase via "click chemistry" and their application for enantioseparations of racemic compounds by HPLC.

Abstract
Immobilized cyclodextrin derivatives are used as chiral selectors in various modes of capillary electrochromatography (CEC). The present chapter describes three techniques in detail utilizing CDs in CEC: (1) open-tubular capillary electrochromatography (o-CEC), (2) packed capillary electrochromatography (p-CEC), and (3) monolithic capillary electrochromatography (rod-CEC). Nanoparticle pseudostationary phase capillary electrochromatography (psp-CEC) is briefly discussed.

Abstract
Since its development in the early 1970s, CEC has been studied quite extensively, but unfortunately its use is still mostly located at an academic level. Reasons for this are the limited availability of commercially available stationary phases (SPs) and columns, along with some practical limitations, such as column fragility, lack of column robustness and reproducibility. Nevertheless, CEC maintains a place among the separation techniques, probably because of its unique feature to combine two separation principles. Also in the field of chiral separations, CEC is often used as a separation technique and already showed its potential for this kind of analyses. This overview will focus on the recent applications, i.e. between 2006 and 2010, in enantioselective analysis by means of CEC. For the selected applications, the used SPs (chiral selectors) and their potential for future method development or screening purposes will be evaluated and critically discussed.

Abstract
With the increasing requirement for analysis and separation of samples related to genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, pharmacology and agrochemistry, diverse stationary phases for liquid chromatography have been prepared by Cu(i)-catalyzed 1, 3-dipolar azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction (CuAAC). It has been proved that CuAAC is a powerful tool for preparing covalently bonded stationary phases. In this tutorial review, we highlighted the preparation of separation materials by immobilization of functional groups on silica beads, polymer beads and agarose via CuAAC and their applications in liquid chromatography and related purposes, such as separation of polar compounds, enrichment of valuable bio-samples, orthogonal two-dimensional HPLC and chiral separation. Meanwhile, agarose-based separation materials for affinity chromatography are reviewed.

Abstract
This communication reports the preparation of two new cyclodextrin (CD) chiral stationary phases (CSPs): heptakis(6-deoxy-6-azido)-β-CD and heptakis(6-deoxy-6-azido-phenylcarbamoylated)-β-CD CSPs that perform quite differently to our previously reported "click" immobilized CD-CSPs. These CSPs are sterically congested at the narrow mouth of the CD and exhibit chiral discrimination between over 40 pairs of enantiomers in high performance liquid chromatography. The free hydroxyl CSP afforded better separation of indoprofen, ketoprofen, Tröger's base, hydroxyl, carboxylic and dansyl amino acids than did the phenylcarbamoylated CSP, while the latter was better at resolving aryl alcohols, flavonoids, β-blockers and β-agonists. The current work shows that enantiodiscrimination achieved with different CSPs for different classes of analyte may be correlated with CD accessibility and peripheral functionality.

Abstract
Two cyclodextrin-based chiral stationary phases have been prepared by immobilization of functionalized mono-6-azido-beta-CD derivatives to alkynyl modified silica via "click" chemistry and applied to the HPLC enantioseparation of various chiral compounds. The perphenylcarbamated CD CSP (CCP-CSP) exhibited excellent chiral recognition of a wide range of analytes including racemic aryl alcohols, flavonoids, bendroflumethiazide, atropine and some beta-blockers. Methanol proved to be a better organic modifier than acetonitrile for most of the analytes with the exception of bendroflumethiazide. The "click" chemistry immobilized permethylated CD CSP (CCM-CSP) afforded poor chiral recognition for most analytes, but could resolve non-aromatic ionone derivatives which were not separated on CCP-CSP. These results suggest that resolution with cyclodextrin derived CSPs depend on a complex interplay of 'host'-'guest' inclusion, hydrogen bonding, pi-pi and hydrophobic interactions.
