Abstract
Generalized lymphatic anomaly (GLA) is a rare congenital disorder of lymphatic development, presenting with multiple lymphatic malformations in different organs and tissues. Here, we present a case of a female neonate prenatally diagnosed with foetal hydrops and a mediastinal cystic lymphatic malformation that showed postnatal expansive and infiltrative growth into the major airways, compromising mechanical ventilation and further management of the neonate. Complications that arose during surgical treatment of mediastinal structures led to the patient’s death. Lymphatic malformations were also noted in the skin at birth. Furthermore, a skin biopsy performed immediately after birth and the autopsy revealed an extremely rare diagnosis of combined macrocystic and microcystic forms of GLA with skin involvement.

Abstract
Background: Cystic hygromas, interchangeably named Lymphangiomas, are rare, congenital, benign lesions due to an abnormal lymphatic system development that tend to occur mostly in the head, neck, and oral cavity.
Case Presentation: This is a case of 18 year old male patient Syrian, smoker, with a history of multiple cystic hygromas since birth along with a generous surgical history of multiple laparotomies for intrabadominal cystic excisions, splenectomy herniorrhaphies (bilateral inguinal hernias and 2 incisional hernias due to laparotomies) left orchieopexy then testiculectomy, scrotal skin graft , multiple abdominal radioguided cystic drainage and sclerotherapy; presented to our care center for fever, dry cough, pleuretic chest pain, and mild abdominal pain with watery diarrhea.
Conclusion: Cystic Hygroma is still being considered as a rare entity and can virtually occur in the whole body sites mostly at head and neck regions as explained above. Challenges in this disease is by finding cases where the presence of such cystic lesions is in extremely rare and unusual sites as well as different treatment modalities and prognostics depending on the site and size of the detected cystic formations.

Abstract
Fetal lymphangioma is a hamartomatous congenital anomaly of the lymphatic system, which is embracing the fetal skin (sometimes mucous membranes) and the subcutaneous tissue. The general consensus is that it occurs as a result of failure in lymphatic drainage. A 36-year-old pregnant woman was referred to our perinatology clinic at 22 weeks' gestation, because of a fetal right-sided axillary mass revealed by ultrasonography. The mass measuring 5x7x7cm in three dimensions had a multilocular structure without colour Doppler flow and well-circumscribed borders. Amniocentesis revealed a normal constitutional karyotyping. Lymphangioma was considered as prediagnosis. A healthy female baby weighing 3470 grams was delivered at term. Neonatal examination and the postnatal MRI confirmed the diagnosis. The baby is still on follow-up with the medical treatment of Sirolimus an anti-proliferative drug, and the mass got smaller significantly in 8 months after delivery.

Abstract
Dermal lymphatic malformations are rare congenital hamartomas of superficial lymphatics characterized by high recurrence rates after excision. The standard therapy for a single lesion is surgical excision with wide margins, which reduces recurrence but can have a potentially unacceptable aesthetic outcome. A case of a 24-year-old woman with a 6 cm x 5 cm dermal lymphatic malformation on her right thigh, diagnosed by clinical history, physical examination, magnetic resonance imaging and pathological findings, is reported. The patient underwent wide local excision with split-thickness skin grafting. After pathological examination revealed negative margins, the patient underwent tissue expander placement and excision of the skin graft with primary closure. The lesion did not recur, and the patient achieved a satisfactory aesthetic result. The present case represents the first report of the use of tissue expanders to treat dermal lymphatic malformations in the lower extremity and demonstrates a safe, staged approach to successful treatment.

Abstract
Lymphangioma circumscriptum is an uncommon benign disorder of skin and subcutaneous tissues characterized by dilated lymphatic channels. It is an uncommon vascular tumor and it rarely becomes infected. We report a 20-year-old man who had an infected giant tumor in his left thigh. After an extensive resection and radiofrequency energy therapy, he recovered well with an acceptable cosmetic result. We followed up the patient for 2 years without any recurrence.

Abstract
Background Cervical cystic hygroma is a benign congenital malformation of the lymphatic system. Incidence of cystic hygroma is 1/6000 live births. We present a case of right neck mass with potential respiratory compromise in a newborn. Case presentation The patient was a full term baby girl with an incidental finding of right neck mass which was described on ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging as a cystic lesion in the nasopharynx and right neck which inferiorly followed the course of the right carotid artery, consistent with cystic hygroma. She started with respiratory compromise, and a follow-up magnetic resonance imaging showed increased size of the cystic hygroma. Dexamethasone was started to reduce fluid build up in the mass. When the cystic hygroma was found to be inseparable from the right half of the thyroid gland, the otolaryngologist performed hemithyroidectomy. Conclusion The patient had neuropraxia involving the marginal mandibular branch of the facial nerve, which was expected to correct with time. Large cervical cystic hygromas may surround or displace neurovascular structures making their identification quite challenging intraoperatively. A team of experienced surgeons will help to ensure a successful surgical outcome.

Abstract
Lymphatic disease is quite prevalent, and often not well clinically characterized. Beyond lymphedema, there is a broad array of human disease that directly or indirectly alters lymphatic structure and function. The symptomatic and objective presentation of these patients can be quite diverse. In this review, we have attempted to provide a systematic overview of the subjective and objective spectrum of lymphatic disease, with consideration of all of the categories of disease that primarily or secondarily impair the functional integrity of the lymphatic system. Lymphedema is discussed, along with chromosomal disorders, lymphangioma, infectious diseases, lymphangioleiomyomatosis, lipedema, heritable genetic disorders, complex vascular malformations, protein-losing enteropathy, and intestinal lymphangiectasia.

Abstract
Lymphangiomas are benign collections of blind-ended lymphatic and vascular channels. Lesions typically occur in the soft tissues of the head and neck, although any region of the body can be affected. Involvement of the spine is very rare. A complete resection is generally curative. On rare occasions, these tumors are complicated by infection or hemorrhage. The authors present an unusual case of a hemorrhagic lymphangioma in a 1-year-old male child. The lesion originated in the mediastinum and extended into the cervicothoracic epidural space via a neural foramen. This resulted in an acute epidural hematoma and quadriparesis. Emergency decompression resulted in full neurological recovery. This may be the first report of a lymphangioma resulting in an acute epidural hematoma and quadriparesis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Laser treatment of lymphangioma circumscriptum is a major challenge because of the persistent nature of the disease and the large variations in lesion size, depth, and anatomic location. OBJECTIVE To determine the safety and effectiveness of electro-optical synergy, a new technology that combines a 900 nm diode laser with radiofrequency current, for the treatment of lymphangioma circumscriptum. METHODS Six patients with Fitzpatrick skin types II to IV were treated for lymphangioma circumscriptum with 1 to 3 sessions of simultaneous radiofrequency energy (60-80 J/cm3) and optical diode laser energy (fluence 90-100 J/cm2). Lesion clearance was evaluated by three specialists on the basis of digital photographs taken before the first treatment and 1 and 2 months after the last treatment. RESULTS Results were rated as "excellent" in four patients and "good" in two patients. Transient swelling, erythema, and pain were present in all patients, and ulcers and scarring in two patients. CONCLUSION The combination of laser light and radiofrequency energy is effective and relatively safe for the treatment of lymphangioma circumscriptum. It provides additional heating of the blood vesicles without increasing the laser intensity and allows the clinician to treat the clear lymphatic component, which lacks a specific optical chromophore. Side effects are tolerable.

Abstract
A case of fetal chest wall cystic lymphangioma diagnosed prenatally at 28 weeks' gestation is reported. Ultrasound examination showed a multilocular, large cystic mass (10 x 22 x 29 mm) on the left side of the fetus in the area of the lower chest and upper abdomen, without color flow imaging. Magnetic resonance imaging was used to evaluate the extent and the tissue characteristics of the lesion. Two months after birth the lymphangioma was surgically removed, following an infection and a rapid increase in size. The case is discussed, and a short review of the literature is reported.
