Abstract
Our study aimed to quantify the exposure-lag-response effects of the diurnal temperature range (DTR) on other infectious diarrhea (OID) in Tongcheng city and examine the vulnerable populations. Distributed lag non-linear model (DLNM) and generalized additive model (GAM) were applied jointly to quantify the association between DTR and the daily number of OID cases compared with the median DTR. Stratified analysis was performed by gender, age, and seasons of onset. There are a total of 8231 cases during this decade. We observed a j-shaped relationship between DTR and OID, with a peak point at the maximum DTR (RR: 2.651, 95% CI: 1.320-5.323) compared to the median DTR. As DTR increased from 8.2 to 10.9 °C, we found the RRs started to decrease and then rise from day 0, and the minimum value occurred on day 7 (RR:1.003, 95% CI: 0.996-1.010). From stratified analysis, we observed that females and adults are more likely to be affected by high DTR significantly. In addition, the influence of DTR was different in cold and warm seasons. High DTR in warm seasons affects the number of OID daily cases, but no statistical significance was identified in cold seasons. This study suggests a significant relationship between high DTR and the incidence risk of OID.

Abstract
The impact of temperature variation on health has attracted increasing attention under global climate change. A distributed lag non-linear model (DLNM) was performed to estimate the risk of two indicators of temperature change (diurnal temperature range (DTR) and temperature change between neighboring days (TCN)) on respiratory hospital visits in Lanzhou, a semi-arid climate city in western China from 2012 to 2018. The whole year is divided into two different temperature change periods according to the TCN of each solar term. The results showed that extreme high DTR can apparently enlarge respiratory risk, and it indicated strong cumulative relative risk (RR) in the temperature drop period. Extreme low TCN had strong adverse effects on respiratory diseases especially in temperature rise period, with the greatest RR of 1.068 (95% CI 1.004, 1.136). The effect of extreme high TCN was more obvious in temperature drop period, with a RR of 1.082 (95% CI 1.021, 1.148) at lag 7. Females were more affected by extreme temperature changes. Young people were more vulnerable to DTR, while TCN has a greater impact on the elderly.

Abstract
Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) is the leading Category C infectious disease affecting millions of children in China every year. In the context of global climate change, the understanding and quantification of the impact of weather factors on human health are particularly critical to the development and implementation of climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies. The aim of this study was to quantify the attributable burden of a combined bioclimatic indicator (apparent temperature) on HFMD and to identify temperature-specific sensitive populations. A total of 123,622 HFMD cases were included in the study. The non-linear relationship between apparent temperature and the incidence of HFMD was approximately M-shaped, with hot weather being more likely to be attributable than cold conditions, of which moderately hot accounting for the majority of cases (21,441, 17.34%). Taking the median apparent temperature (19.2 °C) as reference, the cold effect showed a short acute effect with the highest risk on the day of lag 0 (RR = 1.086, 95% CI: 1.024 ~ 1.152), whereas the hot effect lasted longer with the greatest risk at a lag of 7 days (RR = 1.081, 95% CI: 1.059 ~ 1.104). Subgroup analysis revealed that males, children under 3 years old, and scattered children tended to be more vulnerable to HFMD in hot weather, while females, those aged 3 ~ 5 years, and nursery children were sensitive to cold conditions. This study suggests that high temperatures have a greater impact on HFMD than low temperatures as well as lasting longer, of particular concern being moderately high temperatures rather than extreme temperatures. Early intervention takes on greater importance during cold days, while the duration of HFMD intervention must be longer during hot days.

Abstract
Diurnal temperature range (DTR) is an appropriate indicator for reflecting climate change. Many previous studies have examined the relationship between DTR and mortality. Cerebrovascular disease (CVD) have a higher mortality than other diseases, with mortality from CVD higher in rural areas than in urban areas. A distributed lag non-linear model (DLNM) was used to analyze the exposure-effect relationship between DTR and hospital admissions for CVD from 2018 to 2020 in the population living in rural areas of Tianshui, Gansu Province, China. We investigated the effects of extreme DTR in groups stratified according to gender and age. A U-shape relationship was observed between DTR and hospital admissions for CVD. Both high DTR (19 °C) and low DTR (3 °C) were significantly associated significantly with CVD hospital admissions. When the lag period was 0-21 days, the impact of high DTR (1.595 [95% CI 1.301-1.957]) was slightly more significant than that of a low DTR (1.579 [95% CI - 1.202 to 2.075]). The effect of DTR on CVD varied in different populations. Males and adults were more sensitive to DTR than females and elderly people. It is necessary to make preventive measures to protect vulnerable populations from the adverse effects of extreme DTR.

Abstract
Climate has received an increasing attention due to its adverse effects on human health, but the effects on the urinary system are still short of enough evidence. Therefore, we carry out this study to analyze the relationship between meteorological factors and urinary system health in arid areas of western China. In this study, the daily numbers of outpatients with the urinary system diseases from multiple hospitals in three cities in Gansu province (Lanzhou, Zhangye, and Tianshui city) were collected and used for analysis. The distributed lag non-linear models (DLNM) with a quasi-Poisson distribution were used to estimate the associations between meteorological factors and daily outpatients for urinary system diseases in these three cities, and then a multivariate meta-analysis was applied to pool the estimates of city-specific effects. We found that the ambient temperature (AT) and relative humidity (RH) were significantly associated with the outpatient visits of urinary system diseases. The effects of meteorological factors on outpatients with urinary system diseases for both males and females were statistically significant at different lag days. The higher AT and lower RH were associated with the higher risk of urinary system diseases. We also observed substantial lag effects of meteorological factors on outpatients for both males and females. Among all disease types, renal tubule-interstitial diseases had the strongest relationships with meteorological factors. Our results indicate that the higher AT and lower RH may increase the outpatient visits for urinary system diseases, with significant lag effects in semi-arid areas.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) remains a significant public health issue, especially in developing countries. Many studies have reported the association between environmental temperature and HFMD. However, the results are highly heterogeneous in different regions. In addition, there are few studies on the attributable risk of HFMD due to temperature. OBJECTIVES The study aimed to assess the association between temperature and HFMD incidence and to evaluate the attributable burden of HFMD due to temperature in Ningbo China. METHODS The research used daily incidence of HFMD from 2014 to 2017 and distributed lag non-linear model (DLNM) to investigate the effects of daily mean temperature (Tmean) on HFMD incidence from lag 0 to 30 days, after controlling potential confounders. The lag effects and cumulative relative risk (CRR) were analyzed. Attributable fraction (AF) of HFMD incidence due to temperature was calculated. Stratified analysis by gender and age were also conducted. RESULTS The significant associations between Tmean and HFMD incidence were observed in Ningbo for lag 0-30. Two peaks were observed at both low (5-11 °C) and high (16-29 °C) temperature scales. For low temperature scale, the highest CRR was 2.22 (95% CI: 1.61-3.07) at 7 °C on lag 0-30. For high temperature scale, the highest CRR was 3.54 (95% CI: 2.58-4.88) at 24 °C on lag 0-30. The AF due to low and high temperature was 5.23% (95% CI: 3.10-7.14%) and 39.55% (95% CI: 30.91-45.51%), respectively. There was no significant difference between gender- and age-specific AFs, even though the school-age and female children had slightly higher AF values. CONCLUSIONS The result indicates that both high and low temperatures were associated with daily incidence of HFMD, and more burdens were caused by heat in Ningbo.
