Abstract
Early weaning is frequently accompanied by a significant increase in diarrhea and mortality rates, which reduces rabbits' performance. Although antibiotics can reduce pathogenic bacteria, they also harm beneficial microorganisms and disrupt the normal intestinal microbiota balance. In order to find non-residue and non-toxic alternatives to antibiotics to ensure the safety of animal products, we conducted a study on the effect of compound microecological preparations supplementation on lactating female rabbits and their offspring. A total of 60 female rabbits were randomly assigned to four groups: CON, supplemented with probiotics at 3, 6, and 9 g/female rabbit/day from day 24 of gestation until weaning. We observed that probiotics supplementation significantly enhanced production performance (P < 0.05), immune and antioxidant function (P < 0.05), as well as intestinal flora composition in lactating rabbits and their offspring. Notably, compared with the control group, the experimental group exhibited a 19.23%, 44.22%, and 24.57% increase in milk yield (P = 0.002). Regarding rabbit growth performance, the average body weight of young rabbits in the experimental group showed a significant increase of 3.59%, 10.22%, and 6.74% at day 35 (P = 0.022), whereas the average daily gain (ADG) of rabbits aged between 21 and 35 days was significantly elevated by 4.94%, 17.06%, and 6.28% in the experimental group (P < 0.001). In conclusion, probiotics supplementation can significantly enhance lactation performance, promote growth and disease resistance in rabbits, as well as improve intestinal health when administered at a dosage of 6 g/day. Moreover, the limited sample size in this study may hinder the detection of subtle effects, and augmenting the sample size will bolster the reliability of the study findings. IMPORTANCE The intestinal environment of rabbits is fragile and susceptible to environmental influences, leading to inflammatory intestinal diseases. Adding antibiotics to rabbit feed can achieve the effect of preventing and treating inflammation, which can also lead to the imbalance of the gut microbiota and residual antibiotics in agricultural products. Composite probiotics are live microbial feed additives composed of various ratios of probiotics and have become the most promising alternative to antibiotics due to their residue-free and non-toxic properties. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of compound probiotics on lactating female rabbits and their offspring. Our findings highlight the potential of compound microecological preparations as an effective strategy for enhancing lactation performance, immune function, and antioxidant capacity in rabbits. The supplementation of probiotics through rabbit milk offers a promising approach to optimize the growth and health outcomes of newborn rabbits.

Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate the impact of EGCG on antioxidant stress, immune response, and intestinal microbiota flora in post-weaning rabbits. A total of 144 40 d Ira rabbits (equally divided by sex), were randomly allocated to six treatments. with five groups receiving doses of 200, 400, 600, 800, and 1000 mg/kg of EGCG, while one group served as a control without EGCG. Over 48 days, this study the assessed growth performance, antioxidant capacity, immune system, intestinal morphology, and cecal microbiota in the rabbits. The results showed that EGCG did not affect growth performance; however, significant linear and quadratic correlations were observed between the MDA, T-AOC, and GSH-Px activities in the liver and jejunum (p < 0.05). Quadratic effects were observed for the spleen and thymus indexes and serum IgG levels with increasing EGCG dosages (p < 0.05). Additionally, positive linear and quadratic effects were found on the ileal villus height and the villus height/crypt depth ratio. The relative abundances of Euryarchaeota, Patescibacteria, and Synergistota were significantly enriched in rabbits fed with high dosages (600-1000 mg/kg) of EGCG. Conclusively, the addition of large doses of EGCG (400-800 mg/kg) can effectively suppress oxidative stress and alleviate weaning stress, thereby contributing to the protection of post-weaning rabbits.

Abstract
This experiment was designed to explore how different types of probiotics affect the growth, carcass traits, and seasonal variations in growing New Zealand White rabbits (NZW). Two parallel experiments using the same strain of NZW during winter and summer, each alone from 5 to 13 weeks of age. Each experiment uses a total of 125 unsexed rabbits. These rabbits are separated into 5 groups of 25 rabbits each. Each group has five replicates, with five rabbits in every replicate. In each experiment, 1st group acting as the control group did not receive any probiotics. The 2nd was given a dose of 1 ml of Bifidobacterium bifidum, the 3rd received a dose of 1 ml of Lactobacillus acidophilus, and the 4th was treated with a 1 ml blend of both Bifidobacterium bifidum and Lactobacillus acidophilus, and 5th group was treated with 1 ml of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Results indicated that the Bifidobacterium bifidum group had the best live body weight (LBW) values and daily weight gain (DWG). Meanwhile, during summer, the Lactobacillus acidophilus group had the best feed conversion ratio (FCR) and performance index (PI) values. Also, growing rabbits fed Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifiduim had significantly increased carcass traits during the summer and winter seasons. Furthermore, seasonal changes indicated that the Bifidobacterium bifiduim group improved LBW, DWG, and PI during summer than winter. So, it could be concluded that using Bifidobacterium bifidum can enhance rabbit growth by improving feed utilization and carcass traits, making it an effective addition to hot weather diets.

Abstract
Rabbit (RM) has become a valuable source of nutrients since the 1970s, helping to transform the European food industry into the largest RM producer in the world. However, the RM industry is experiencing a critical period of ethical imbalance. This trend, described as feed conversion ratio, impacts the environmental and financial performance of RM farms, which could lead to an increase production of industrial waste. In addition, the loss of corporate ethical responsibility and sustainable development by RM-oriented companies has further exacerbated the situation. Our objective was to summarize current trends in the RM industry and markets, highlighting possible strengths and weaknesses. This review shows current approaches in sustainable techniques in RM production processes, ethical issue, environmental and processing responsibility of RM producers, as well as social responsibilities and ethical practices of slaughterhouses and RM producers, sustainable environmental practices of slaughterhouses, technological aspects and safety of RM and social drivers in RM market. The analysis of reviewed literature revealed the potential strategies for sustainable RM production.

Abstract
Guinea pigs have historically been used as a food source and are also an important model for studying the human intestines. Fasting is the act of temporarily stopping the intake of food. This process can alter the microbiota of various animals. This study is the first to investigate the impact of fasting on the cecum microbiome of three guinea pig breeds. We investigated the impact of fasting on the microbiome population structure in the cecum of three guinea pig breeds. This was done by sequencing and analyzing the V4 hypervariable region of the 16S rRNA gene in bacterial communities found in cecum mucosa samples. To achieve this, we established two treatment groups (fasting and fed), for each of the three guinea pig breeds: Andina, Inti, and Peru. The study involved twenty-eight guinea pigs, which were divided into the following groups: Andina-fed (five), Andina-fasting (five), Inti-fed (four), Inti-fasting (five), Peru-fed (five), and Peru-fasting (four). The results indicated a significant difference in beta diversity between the treatment groups for the Peru breed (P-value = 0.049), but not for the treatment groups of the Andina and Inti breeds. The dominant phyla across all groups were Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes. We observed variations in the abundance of different taxa in the cecum microbiota when comparing the treatment groups for each breed. Additionally, there was a higher number of unique taxa observed in the fasting groups compared to the fed groups. We discovered that the genus Victivallis was the only one present in all fasting groups across all breeds. Despite the findings, the resilience of the gut microbiome was not challenged in all three breeds, which can lead to disruptive changes that may affect the overall maintenance of the cecum microbiome. Based on the observed differences in the treatment groups of the Peru breed, it can be suggested that fasting has a greater impact on this particular breed.
