Abstract
Two-dimensional liquid chromatography (2D-LC) separation systems, based on two independent columns with different separation mechanisms, have exhibited strong resolving power for complex samples. Therefore, in recent years, the exceptional resolution of 2D-LC has significantly advanced the chemical separation of natural products, such as complex herbs, greatly facilitating their qualitative and quantitative analysis. This paper aims to review the latest strategies of 2D-LC in the quantitative analysis of complex chemical compositions in natural products. To this end, the major advantages and disadvantages of various column couplings in 2D-LC are discussed based on specific studies, along with suggested solutions to address the identified drawbacks. Moreover, the applications of different detectors combined with the latest chemometrics in 2D-LC for accurate quantitative analysis of natural products are reviewed and discussed.

Abstract
In food analysis, conventional one-dimensional liquid chromatography methods sometimes lack sufficient separation power due to the complexity and heterogeneity of the analyzed matrices. Therefore, the use of two-dimensional liquid chromatography (2D-LC) turns out to be a powerful tool to consider, especially when coupled to mass spectrometry (MS). This review presents the most remarkable 2D-LC-MS food applications reported in the last 10 years, including a critical discussion of the multiple approaches, modulation strategies as well as the importance of the optimization of the different analytical aspects that will condition the 2D-LC-MS performance. The presence of contaminants in food (food safety), the food quality, and authenticity or the relationship between the beneficial effects of food and human health are some of the fields in which most of the 2D-LC-MS applications are mainly focused. Both heart-cutting and comprehensive applications are described and discussed in this review, highlighting the potential of 2D-LC-MS for the analysis of such complex samples.

Abstract
Tetracycline antibiotics (TCs) are extensively used in clinical medicine, animal husbandry, and aquaculture because of their cost-effectiveness and high antibacterial efficacy. However, the presence of TCs residues in the environment poses risks to humans. In this study, an inner filter effect (IFE) fluorescent probe, 2,2'-(ethane-1,2-diylbis((2-((2-methylquinolin-8-yl)amino)-2-oxoethyl)azanediyl))diacetic acid (MQDA), was developed for the rapid detection of Eu3+ within 30 s. And its complex [MQDA-Eu3+] was successfully used for the detection of TCs. Upon coordination of a carboxyl of MQDA with Eu3+ to form a [MQDA-Eu3+] complex, the carboxyl served as an antenna ligand for the effective detection of Eu3+ to intensify the emission intensity of MQDA via "antenna effect", the process was the energy absorbed by TCs via UV excitation was effectively transferred to Eu3+. Fluorescence quenching of the [MQDA-Eu3+] complex was caused by the IFE in multicolor fluorescence systems. The limits of detection of [MQDA-Eu3+] for oxytetracycline, chlorotetracycline hydrochloride, and tetracycline were 0.80, 0.93, and 1.7 μM in DMSO/HEPES (7:3, v/v, pH = 7.0), respectively. [MQDA-Eu3+] demonstrated sensitive detection of TCs in environmental and food samples with satisfactory recoveries and exhibited excellent imaging capabilities for TCs in living cells and zebrafish with low cytotoxicity. The proposed approach demonstrated considerable potential for the quantitative detection of TCs.

Abstract
Tetracycline (TC) as a broad-spectrum antibiotic, is widely used in the prevention and treatment of various bacterial diseases. However, its abuse in the livestock industry may lead to interference in human microecology, thereby causing various side effects. In this study, deep eutectic solvents (DESs) were synthesized using L-(-)-threonine (L-(-)-Thr) and cerium nitrate hexahydrate (Ce(NO3)3·6H2O), and later lanthanum nitrate hexahydrate (La(NO3)3·6H2O) was doped to synthesize La-Ce hybrid nanorods. These nanorods can be used for the determination of TC with high sensitivity and selectivity by the colorimetric method. This approach has a linear response to TC between 0.05 μM and 10 μM, with a detection limit of 0.016 μM. In this system, good dispersion provides the substance with a distinct peroxidase activity, which is used to create a colorimetric sensor for detecting TC. Mechanism studies show that the superoxide radical generated by the La-Ce nanomembrane plays a key role in peroxidase catalysis. Finally, the practicality of the method was verified by the determination of TC in food products (milk, pork and honey), which demonstrated that a good recovery rate can be obtained (91.4-102%).

Abstract
Aminoglycosides are a widely used group of antibiotics in veterinary medicine. However, misuse and abuse of these drugs can lead to residues in the edible tissues of animals. Due to the toxicity of aminoglycosides and the exposure of consumers to the emergence of drug resistance, new methods are being sought to determine aminoglycosides in food. The method presented in this manuscript describes the determination of twelve aminoglycosides (streptomycin, dihydrostreptomycin, spectinomycin, neomycin, gentamicin, hygromycin, paromomycin, kanamycin, tobramycin, amikacin, apramycin, and sisomycin) in thirteen matrices (muscle, kidney, liver, fat, sausages, shrimps, fish honey, milk, eggs, whey powder, sour cream, and curd). Aminoglycosides were isolated from samples with extraction buffer (10 mM NH4OOCH3, 0.4 mM Na2EDTA, 1% NaCl, 2% TCA). For the clean-up purpose, HLB cartridges were used. Analysis was performed using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS) with a Poroshell analytical column and a mobile phase of acetonitrile and heptafluorobutyric acid. The method was validated according to Commission Regulation (EU) 2021/808 requirements. Good performance characteristics were obtained for recovery, linearity, precision, specificity, and decision limits (CCα). This simple and high-sensitivity method can determine multi-aminoglycosides in various food samples for confirmatory analysis.

Abstract
With the increasingly serious problem of aminoglycoside antibiotic residues, it is imperative to develop rapid, sensitive and efficient detection methods. This article reviews the detection methods of aminoglycoside antibiotics in animal-derived foods, including enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, fluorescent immunoassay, chemical immunoassay, affinity sensing assay, lateral flow immunochromatography and molecular imprinted immunoassay. After evaluating the performance of these methods, the advantages and disadvantages were analyzed and compared. Furthermore, development prospects and research trends were proposed and summarized. This review can serve as a basis for further research and provide helpful references and new insights for the analysis of aminoglycoside residues. Accordingly, the in-depth investigation and analysis will certainly make great contributions to food safety, public hygiene and human health.

Abstract
In this work, a fluorescent sensor based on a zirconium-based metal organic framework was prepared for the detection of tetracyclines (TCs) in milk. The UiO-66-NH2 fluorescent sensor was synthesized by a simple microwave-assisted method with 2-aminoterephthalic acid and zirconium chloride as precursors. In the presence of target TCs, the synergistic effect of the inner filter effect (IFE) and photo-induced electron transfer (PET) was responsible for the fluorescence quenching of UiO-66-NH2, and the fluorescence sensor showed a rapid fluorescence quenching response (5 min) to target TCs. The proposed UiO-66-NH2 sensor had good sensitivity and selectivity, and under the optimal conditions possessed detection limits of 0.449, 0.431, and 0.163 μM for tetracycline (TET), oxytetracycline (OTC), and doxycycline (DOX), respectively. Besides, the UiO-66-NH2 sensor was successfully applied to the quantitative detection of TCs in milk samples with reasonable recoveries of 93.26-115.17%, and the detection results achieved from the as-fabricated fluorescence sensing assay were consistent with those of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), indicating the potential applicability of the UiO-66-NH2 sensor for detecting TCs in actual food samples.

In this study, sulfadiazine (SDZ), sulfadimidine (SMZ), and sulfadimethoxine (SDM) in milk were selected to investigate an accurate determination method and the potential influencing factors in the use of ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS). Milk samples were extracted by 25 mL perchloric acid solution (pH = 2) and cleaned up using HLB solid-phase extraction (SPE) cartridges. Four kinds of filters, including PTFE, GHP, nylon, and glass fiber, were compared, and PTFE was selected since it had the best recoveries of target sulfonamides (SAs). Three quantitative methods, including external standard (ES), matrix matching (MM), and isotope dilution mass spectrometry (IDMS), were compared, among which IDMS exhibited the best accuracy. The matrix effect under different mobile phase compositions and of different sample matrices were evaluated and discussed. Ion suppression effects were observed during the determination of all SAs, which got stronger with the increase of the methanol composition percent in the mobile phase. After correction by IDMS, the matrix effect could be neglected. Matrix spiked recoveries at three spiked levels (1 μg/kg, 10 μg/kg, and 20 μg/kg) ranged from 96.8% to 103.8% by IDMS. The expanded relative uncertainties were in the range of 2.02% to 5.75%. The method exhibited wide application range, high accuracy, good stability, and high sensitivity.

Abstract
The abundant use of antibiotics leads to antibiotic residues in frequently consumed foods. Residual antibiotics in food may have adverse effects on humans by directly causing disease via low-dose exposure and indirect harm via antibiotic resistance. However, the current methods for antibiotic extraction and analysis in food have not yet formed a uniform standard, and only a few data exist regarding the residual antibiotic condition in various types of foods. Hence, we review the literature since 2008 to summarize analytical methods and residue status of antibiotics in food. Then, we discuss the causes of antibiotic residues in food and the possible hazards to human health. We hope that the joint efforts of the scientific community and political circles will lead to the formation of a unified standard for the extraction and analysis of antibiotics in food, to allow for comprehensive monitoring of residual antibiotics and ensure human health.
