Abstract
The City of Toronto adopted a Vision Zero strategy in 2016 that aims to eliminate deaths and serious injuries from vehicular collisions. The strategy includes policies to improve lighting to reduce collision risks, and past research has suggested lighting as a road safety factor. We apply Bayesian spatial analysis (including Poisson log-normal regression modelling, shared component spatial modelling, and Bayesian spatiotemporal modelling) to publicly available data on traffic collisions where persons are killed or seriously injured (KSI) based on Day/Dark conditions. We assess (1) links between KSI risk and socioeconomic and built environment factors, (2) spatial distributions of relative Day & Dark KSI risk, and (3) area-specific trends in space and time for Day-Dark KSI risk change across Toronto neighbourhoods. Our analysis does not find significant associations between socioeconomic/built environment factors and KSI risk, but we uncover neighbourhoods with heightened Dark KSI risk and pronounced Day-Dark KSI changes compared to Toronto's mean area trend. Findings highlight the need for increased policy attention for impacts of lighting on collisions and provide insight for focus regions for improved Vision Zero policy development.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The distribution of hepatic echinococcosis (HE) is extensive, significantly impacting public health and economic development. Therefore, analyzing global collaboration networks and tracking developmental trends over the past four decades are crucial. This study aimed to demonstrate collaboration in the field of HE and explore key topics and future directions. MATERIALS AND METHODS Bibliometric analyses were conducted using CiteSpace, Bibliometrix package of R, and VOSviewer software on HE-related studies from the Web of Science Core Collection published before 1 August 2023. RESULTS This study identified 2605 records published in 196 journals by 9860 authors from 2607 institutes in 90 countries. Publications significantly notably increased in 2021. Developing countries like Turkey and China made notable contributions, while developed countries like the USA had higher average citation rates. The largest nodes in every cluster of the collaboration network were Hacettepe University, Tehran University, Xinjiang Medical University, Salford University, and the University of Pavia, and the top-producing authors were Wen H, Vuitton DA, Gottstein B, and Craig PS. Keyword co-occurrence analysis suggested that surgical techniques and novel drugs targeting combined immune checkpoints are the main therapeutic approaches in the future. CONCLUSION Although developing countries had significantly contributed to publications on HE, the citation rate for individual articles from developed countries was significantly higher. Additionally, advancements in surgical techniques and novel drugs targeting combined immune checkpoints may emerge as the next research focus and developmental direction.

Abstract
Introduction Road safety is still a major issue all around the world. The capability to analyze the road network and identify high risk sections is crucial in road safety management. Therefore, it is essential for road administrations, practitioners, and researcher to have a clear and practical framework of the available road network safety analysis procedures. The aim of this study is to provide such a framework by carrying out an exhaustive analysis of the main procedures available all around the world. Method The proposed literature review has started considering a web search on Web of Science (WoS). Then, a systematic review of each publication has been carried out using the Bibliometrix software, to identify the main characteristics of the publications within the specific topic. Then, the most relevant and widespread safety analysis procedures have been considered and the following aspects have been analyzed: the type of approach (crash analysis, crash prediction models procedures, based on road safety inspections, etc.), which and how many data are required (crashes, traffic, visual inspections, geometrical data, etc.), which is the effectiveness of the procedure, and which are the segmentation criteria used (fixed length, variable length based on geometry, traffic, etc.). Results Ten different procedures for road network safety analysis have been considered for detailed analysis. The research findings highlight that each procedure has its own pros and cons. Conclusions The choice of the best procedure to use is highly related to the characteristics of the road network that need to be analyzed, to the availability of data, and to the main elements the Road Authorities (RA) wants to give priority to. Practical applications This collection and review of different procedures will be of great interest for RAs, practitioners, and researchers in the process of selecting the most useful procedure to use to carry out a road network safety analysis.

Abstract
PANoptosis has recently been discovered as a new type of cell death. PANoptosis mainly refers to the significant interaction among the three programmed cell death pathways of apoptosis, necroptosis, and pyroptosis. Despite this, only a few studies have examined the systematic literature in this area. By analyzing the bibliometric data for PANoptosis, we can visualize the current hotspots and predicted trends in research. This study analyzed bibliometric indicators using the Histcite Pro 2.0 tool, which searches the Web of Science for PANoptosis literature published between 2016 and 2022. A bibliometric analysis was performed using Histcite Pro 2.0, while research trends and hotspots were visualized using VOSviewer, CiteSpace and BioBERT. The output of related literature was low in the four years from the first presentation of PANoptosis in 2016 to 2020. The volume of relevant literature grew exponentially between 2020 and 2022. The United States and China play a leading role in this field. Although China started late, its research in this field is developing rapidly. As research progressed, more focus was placed on the relationship between PANoptosis and pyroptosis, as well as apoptosis and necrosis. Now is a rapid development stage of PANoptosis research. Most of the research focuses on the cellular level, and the focus is more on the treatment of tumor-related diseases. The current focus of this area is PANoptosis mechanisms in cancer and inflammation. It can be seen from the burst analysis of keywords that caspase1 and host defense have consistently been research hotspots in the field of PANoptosis, while the frequency of NLRC4, causes of autoinflammation, recognition, NLRP3, and Gasdermin D has gradually increased, all of which have become research hotspots in recent years. Finally, we used the BioBERT biomedical language model to mine the most documented genes and diseases in the PANoptosis field articles, pointing out the direction for subsequent research steps. According to a bibliometric analysis, researchers have shown an increased interest in PANoptosis over the past few years. Researchers initially focused on the molecular mechanism of PANoptosis and pyroptosis, apoptosis, and necroptosis. The role of PANoptosis in diseases and conditions such as inflammation and tumors is one of the current research hotspots in this area. The focus is more on treating inflammation-related diseases, which will become the key development direction of future research.

Abstract
Despite numerous theoretical and empirical studies exploring the spatial needs of road users, a significant gap remains in validating these findings with extensive real-world data sets. This study presents the idea of "safe spaces," outlining the buffer zones that both walkers and e-bicyclists maintain when crossing streets, while also taking safety and psychological well-being into consideration. We used drones to gather the study's trajectory data at three significant crossings in Xi'an, China. Multi-coordinate system transformation enabled us to determine the relative positions of individuals and moving objects within their visual domain. Relative position frequency heat maps were generated to explore safe distance demands in different directions. The safety space was then fitted using the least squares method. Our research demonstrates that whereas e-bicyclists maintain semi-elliptical safe spaces at street crossings, walkers maintain semi-circular safe spaces, and the sizes of these zones increase in direct proportion to their relative speeds. However, the safe space size oscillates within a defined range above a particular speed threshold. Notably, e-bicyclists require larger safety distances forward and are more sensitive to speed variations. Our knowledge of the dynamics of safe spaces for walkers and e-bicyclists at street crossings is improved by this work, with emphasis on the role of speed and pedestrian numbers in shaping these spaces. The incorporation of real-world data from drone footage significantly strengthens the validity and reliability of our findings, bridging a crucial empirical gap in the existing literature. Additionally, this paper introduces a crowding coefficient based on safe space and proposes a new method using safe space to aid traffic conflict metrics PET, providing valuable insights for identifying crowd congestion levels and capturing traffic conflict events. The practical implications of our findings extend to urban planning, traffic management, and safety of vulnerable road users. Ultimately, this research contributes to the development of safer and more efficient urban environments for all road users.

Abstract
Globally, the increase in pedestrian fatalities due to road traffic crashes (RTCs) on transport networks has been a major concern. In low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), pedestrians face a high risk due to RTCs on the rural highway network. The safety evaluation methods, such as observational before-after, empirical Bayes, full Bayes, and cross-sectional methods have been used to identify risk factors of RTCs. However, these methods are data-intensive and have associated limitations. Thus, this study employed a matched case-control method to identify the risk factors of fatal pedestrian crashes. This study utilized crash, traffic volume, speed, geometric, and roadside environment data of a 175 km six-lane rural highway in India. The identified major risk factors, such as clear zone width, the presence of habitation, service roads, and horizontal curve sections, increase the likelihood of a fatal pedestrian crash. This study provides specific insights for modifying the speed limit of highway sections passing through habitation. On such highway sections, designers should shift focus to pedestrian safety. It also suggests that the service road design needs to be reconsidered from a pedestrian safety viewpoint. The proposed method can be used in any other setting having similar traffic and socio-economic conditions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pancreatic cancer (PC) is one of the most lethal malignancies of the digestive system and is expected to be the second leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States by 2030. A growing body of evidence suggests that the gut microbiota (GM) is intimately involved in the clinical diagnosis, oncogenic mechanism and treatment of PC. However, no bibliometric analysis of PC and GM has been reported. METHODS The literature on PC and GM was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database for the period from January 1, 2004 to April 25, 2023. Microsoft Excel 2021, CiteSpace, VOSviewer, Scimago Graphica, Graphpad Prism, Origin, the R package "bibliometrics" and the bibliometric online analysis program were used to visualize the publishing trends and hot spots in this field. RESULTS A total of 1,449 articles were included, including 918 articles and 531 reviews. Publishing had grown rapidly since 2017, with the 2023 expected to publish 268 articles. Unsurprisingly, the United States ranked highest in terms of number of literatures, H index and average citations. The University of California System was the most active institution, but Harvard University tended to be cited the most on average. The three most influential researchers were Robert M. Hoffman, Zhao Minglei, and Zhang Yong. Cancers had published the most papers, while Nature was the most cited journal. Keyword analysis and theme analysis indicated that "tumor microenvironment," "gemcitabine-resistance," "ductal adenocarcinoma," "gut microbiota" and "diagnosis" will be the hotspots and frontiers of research in the future. CONCLUSION In summary, the field is receiving increasing attention. We found that future hotspots of PC/GM research may focus on the mechanism of oncogenesis, flora combination therapy and the exploitation of new predictive biomarkers, which provides effective suggestions and new insights for scholars.

Abstract
This paper conducted a comprehensive study on the injury severity of motor vehicle-pedestrian crashes at 489 urban intersections across a dense road network based on high-resolution accident data recorded by the police from 2010 to 2019 in Hong Kong. Given that accounting for the spatial and temporal correlations simultaneously among crash data can contribute to unbiased parameter estimations for exogenous variables and improved model performance, we developed spatiotemporal logistic regression models with various spatial formulations and temporal configurations. The results indicated that the model with the Leroux conditional autoregressive prior and random walk structure outperformed other alternatives in terms of goodness-of-fit and classification accuracy. According to the parameter estimates, pedestrian age, head injury, pedestrian location, pedestrian actions, driver maneuvers, vehicle type, first point of collision, and traffic congestion status significantly affected the severity of pedestrian injuries. On the basis of our analysis, a range of targeted countermeasures integrating safety education, traffic enforcement, road design, and intelligent traffic technologies were proposed to improve the safe mobility of pedestrians at urban intersections. The present study provides a rich and sound toolkit for safety analysts to deal with spatiotemporal correlations when modeling crashes aggregated at contiguous spatial units within multiple years.

Abstract
In this paper, we unpack the magnitude effects of the determinants of pedestrian crashes using a multivariate analysis approach. We consider four sets of exogenous factors that characterize residential neighborhoods as well as potentially affect pedestrian crashes and the racial composition of such crashes: (1) crash risk exposure (CE) attributes, (2) cultural variables, (3) built environment (BE) features, and (4) sociodemographic (SD) factors. Our investigation uses pedestrian crash and related data from the City of Houston, Texas, which we analyze at the spatial Census Block Group (CBG) level. Our results indicate that social resistance considerations (that is, minorities resisting norms as they are perceived as being set by the majority group), density of transit stops, and road design considerations (in particular in and around areas with high land-use diversity) are the three strongest determinants of pedestrian crashes, particularly in CBGs with a majority of the resident population being Black. The findings of this study can enable policymakers and planners to develop more effective countermeasures and interventions to contain the growing number of pedestrian crashes in recent years, as well as racial disparities in pedestrian crashes. Importantly, transportation safety engineers need to work with social scientists and engage with community leaders to build trust before leaping into implementing planning countermeasures and interventions.
