Abstract
Gemini surfactants with stimuli-responsive properties have been demonstrated for a broad range of applications. This study presents the synthesis of a series of photoresponsive asymmetric gemini azobenzene-surfactants (AZO-3(OH)-n, n = 12, 14, 16) and characterizes their structures and photoresponsive properties. Surface tension analysis reveals that the surface activities of AZO-3(OH)-n increase with the degree of asymmetry and decrease significantly after ultraviolet (UV) irradiation. Thermodynamic parameters suggest that the micellization process of the AZO-3(OH)-n molecules is spontaneous. TEM combined with dynamic light scattering confirms that trans-AZO-3(OH)-n with higher asymmetry can assemble into vesicles in aqueous solutions that transform into micelles after UV irradiation. Foaming performance studies show concentration-dependent improvements in both foamability and foam stability. However, the changes in the molecular structure and surface activity after UV irradiation lead to a rapid decrease in the foam half-life. The resulting intelligent foams with rapid photoresponsiveness and excellent cycling stability offer a promising strategy for expanding their applications in industrial production.

Abstract
To achieve the environmentally friendly and rapid green synthesis of efficient and stable AgNPs for drug-resistant bacterial infection, this study optimized the green synthesis process of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using Dihydromyricetin (DMY). Then, we assessed the impact of AgNPs on zebrafish embryo development, as well as their therapeutic efficacy on zebrafish infected with Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and dynamic light-scattering (DLS) analyses revealed that AgNPs possessed an average size of 23.6 nm, a polymer dispersity index (PDI) of 0.197 ± 0.0196, and a zeta potential of -18.1 ± 1.18 mV. Compared to other published green synthesis products, the optimized DMY-AgNPs exhibited smaller sizes, narrower size distributions, and enhanced stability. Furthermore, the minimum concentration of DMY-AgNPs required to affect zebrafish hatching and survival was determined to be 25.0 μg/mL, indicating the low toxicity of DMY-AgNPs. Following a 5-day feeding regimen with DMY-AgNP-containing food, significant improvements were observed in the recovery of the gills, intestines, and livers in MRSA-infected zebrafish. These results suggested that optimized DMY-AgNPs hold promise for application in aquacultures and offer potential for further clinical use against drug-resistant bacteria.

Abstract
Excretion of heavy metals especially mercury (Hg2+) from the industries into the environment becomes a major global problem. In this context, mercury is a highly dangerous metal which poses serious impact on human health. In the present study, acridine- (ACR-) based silver nanoparticles (ACR-AgNPs) were prepared and employed as a nanosensor for effective detection and quantification of Hg2+ in tap water. Conjugation between ACR-based coating agent and silver was examined by UV-visible and FT-IR spectroscopy, while morphology and particle size were determined through atomic force microscopy (AFM), dynamic light scattering (DLS), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Furthermore, sensing behavior of nanosensor for metal ions was evaluated by mixing different metals such as Mn2+, Ni2+, Ba2+, Mg2+, Cr3+, Pb2+, Pd2+, Al3+, Sn2+, Fe2+, Co2+, Cu2+, Fe3+, Cd2+, and Hg2+with ACR-AgNPs. Among all the added metal ions, only Hg2+resulted in significant quenching in the absorption intensity of ACR-AgNPs. The limit of detection of the ACR-AgNP-based nanosensor was found to be 1.65 μM in a wide pH range (1-14). The proposed mercury sensor worked efficiently in the presence of other interfering agents such as other metal ions. Therefore, the synthesized ACR-AgNPs have proved to be an efficient and robust nanosensor for quantitative detection of Hg2+ in real sample analysis such as tap water. The proposed method does not require expensive instrumentation and trained manpower.

Abstract
Bovine mastitis (BM) is the most prevalent bacterial infection in the livestock sector, affecting the dairy industry greatly. The prevention and treatment of this disease is mainly made via antibiotics, but the increasing antimicrobial resistance of pathogens has affected the efficiency of conventional drugs. Pseudomonas sp. is one of the pathogens involved in this infection. The therapeutic rate of cure for this environmental mastitis-causing pathogen is practically zero, regardless of treatment. Biofilm formation has been one of the main virulence mechanisms of Pseudomonas hence presenting resistance to antibiotic therapy. We have manufactured chitosan nanoparticles (NQo) with tripolyphosphate (TPP) using ionotropic gelation. These NQo were confronted against a Pseudomonas sp. strain isolated from milk samples of cows diagnosed with BM, to evaluate their antimicrobial and antibiofilm capacity. The NQo showed great antibacterial effect in the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC), minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) and disk diffusion assays. Using sub lethal concentrations, NQo were tested for inhibition of biofilm formation. The results show that the nanoparticles exhibited biofilm inhibition and were capable of eradicate pre-existing mature biofilm. These findings indicate that the NQo could act as a potential alternative to antibiotic treatment of BM.
