Abstract
A carbon-rich molecule is synthesized, which mainly contains conjugated sp2 and sp hybridized carbon centers. Alkenyl and alkynyl binding sites are arranged such that this compound serves as ligand to a binuclear metal unit with a RhI─RhI bond. Furthermore, CH units are placed in proximity to the metal centers. The dicationic complex [Rh2(bipy)2{Ph2Ptrop(C≡CCy)2}]2+(OTf-)2 allows to study possible responses of the carbon-framework to redox reactions as well as deprotonation reactions. All products are, whenever possible, characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) methods, NMR and EPR spectroscopy as well as electrochemical methods. It is shown that the carbon skeleton of the ligand framework undergoes C─C bond rearrangement reactions of remarkable diversity. In combination with DFT (density functional theory) studies, these results allow to gain insight into the electronic structure changes caused by metal sites in a carbon-rich environment, which may be of relevance for the properties of metal particles on carbon support materials when they are exposed to hydrogen, electrons, or protons.

Abstract
With their mechanistic novelty and various modalities of reactivity, transition metal unsaturated carbene (alkenylidene) complexes have emerged as versatile intermediates for new reaction discovery. In particular, the past decade has witnessed remarkable advances in the chemistry of metal vinylidenes and allenylidenes, leading to the evolution of a diverse array of new catalytic transformations that are mechanistically distinct from those developed in the previous two decades. This review aims to provide a survey of the recent achievements in the development of organic reactions that make use of transition metal alkenylidenes as catalytic intermediates and their applications to organic synthesis.

Abstract
Complexes OsH2Cl2(PiPr3)2 and RuH2Cl2(PiPr3)2 promote the tautomerization of quinoline and 8-methylquinoline to NH tautomers, which lie about 44 kcal.mol-1 above the usual CH tautomers. The NH tautomers are stabilized by coordination to the metal center and by means of a Cl...HN interaction. As a consequence, the six-coordinate elongated dihydrogen complexes OsCl2{kappa-C2-(HNC9H5R)}(eta2-H2)(PiPr3)2, the five-coordinate derivatives RuCl2{kappa-C2-(HNC9H5R)}(PiPr3)2, and the six-coordinate dihydrogen compounds RuCl2{kappa-C2-(HNC9H5R)}(eta2-H2)(PiPr3)2 (R = H, Me) have been isolated and characterized.

Abstract
The involvement of a catalytic metal vinylidene species was proposed for the first time in 1986 to explain the regioselective formation of vinyl carbamates directly from terminal alkynes, carbon dioxide, and amines. Since this initial report, various metal vinylidenes and allenylidenes, which are key activation intermediates, have proved extremely useful for many alkyne transformations. They have contributed to the rational design of new catalytic reactions. This 20th anniversary is a suitable occasion to present the advancement of organometallic vinylidenes and allenylidenes in catalysis.
