Abstract
A novel series of oxazole incorporated naphthyridine (21 a-j) derivatives were designed and, synthesized followed by screening of their anticancer activity profiles against human breast cancer (MCF-7), human lung cancer (A549) and human prostate (PC3 & DU-145) cancer cell lines by employing MTT [3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide] assay using etoposide as the positive control. Of these compounds, N-(6-chloro-3-(4-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)oxazol-2-yl)-1,5-naphthyridin-4-yl)oxazol-2-amine with 3,4,5-trimethoxy substituent on the aryl moiety attached to oxazole ring showed potent anticancer activity against PC3, A549, MCF-7, and DU-145 cell lines with IC50 values of 0.13±0.095 μM; 0.10±0.084 μM; 0.18±0.087 μM and 0.15±0.076 μM respectively. Apart from this, compounds N-(6-chloro-3-(4-(3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)oxazol-2-yl)-1,5-naphthyridin-4-yl)oxazol-2-amine, N-(6-chloro-3-(4-(4-methoxyphenyl)oxazol-2-yl)-1,5-naphthyridin-4-yl)oxazol-2-amine, and N-(6-chloro-3-(4-(3,5-dimethylphenyl)oxazol-2-yl)-1,5-naphthyridin-4-yl)oxazol-2-amine also showed better anticancer activities against four cancer cell lines screened for. These activities were also validated through the molecular docking simulations, which further indicated demonstration of better interaction energy and profile by these compounds.

Abstract
The burgeoning interest in synthesis and biological applications of 1,6-naphthyridines reflects the importance of 1,6-naphthyridines in the synthetic as well as medicinal chemistry fields. Specially, 1,6-naphthyridines are pharmacologically active, with variety of applications such as anticancer, anti-human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), anti-microbial, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant activities. Although collective recent synthetic developments have paved a path to a wide range of functionalized 1,6-naphthyridines, a complete correlation of synthesis with biological activity remains elusive. The current review focuses on recent synthetic developments from the last decade and a thorough study of the anticancer activity of 1,6-naphthyridines on different cancer cell lines. Anticancer activity has been correlated to 1,6-naphthyridines using the literature on the structure-activity relationship (SAR) along with molecular modeling studies. Exceptionally, at the end of this review, the utility of 1,6-naphthyridines displaying activities other than anticancer has also been included as a glimmering extension.

Abstract
Since the antitumor activity of cisplatin was discovered in 1967 by Rosenberg, platinum-based anticancer drugs have played an important role in chemotherapy in clinic. Nevertheless, platinum anticancer drugs also have caused severe side effects and cross drug resistance which limited their applications. Therefore, a significant amount of efforts have been devoted to developing new platinum-based anticancer agents with equal or higher antitumor activity but lower toxicity. Until now, a large number of platinum-based complexes have been prepared and extensively investigated in vitro and in vivo. Among them, some platinum-based complexes revealing excellent anticancer activity showed the potential to be developed as novel type of anticancer agents. In this account, we present such platinum-based anticancer complexes which owning various types of ligands, such as, amine carrier ligands, leaving groups, reactive molecule, steric hindrance groups, non-covalently binding platinum (II) complexes, Platinum(IV) complexes and polynuclear platinum complexes. Overall, platinum-based anticancer complexes reported recently years upon modern structure are emphasized.

Abstract
A systematic study on the condensation reaction of 2,4-dichlorobenzo[h]quinoline and naphth-1-ylamine in the presence of CuI as catalyst to functionalised mono- and di-substituted (naphthalen-1-yl)benzo[h]quinoline amines was described. Subsequently these mono- and di-substituted amines on polyphosphoric acid catalysed cyclisation reaction with aromatic/heteroaromatic carboxylic acids led to the construction of angular and linear aromatic/heteroaromatic substituted dinaphthonaphthyridines in good yields.

Abstract
Binding studies of two water soluble copper(II) complexes of the type [Cu(phen-dion)(diimine)Cl]Cl, where phen-dione is 1,10-phenanthroline-5,6-dione and diimine is 1,10-phenanthroline (1) and 2,2'-bipyridine (2), with fish sperm DNA (FS-DNA) and bovine serum albumin (BSA) have been examined under physiological conditions by a series of experimental methods (UV-Vis absorption, fluorescence, viscosity, cyclic voltammetry (CV) and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopic techniques). The experimental results indicate that the complexes interact with FS-DNA by electrostatic and partial insertion of pyridyl rings between the base stacks of double-stranded DNA. The complexes could quench the intrinsic fluorescence of BSA with the binding constants (Kbin) of 32×10(5) M(-1) (1) and 1.7×10(5) M(-1) (2) at 290 K. The quenching mechanism, thermodynamic parameters, the number of binding sites and the effect of the Cu(II) complexes on the secondary structure of BSA have been explored. The in vitro anticancer chemotherapeutic potential of two copper(II) complexes against the three human carcinoma cell lines (MCF-7, A-549, and HT-29) and one normal cell line (DPSC) were evaluated by MTT assay. The results of in vitro cytotoxicity indicate that the complex (1) has greater cytotoxicity activity against all of the cell lines, especially HT-29 with IC50 values of 1.8 μM. Based on the IC50 values, these complexes did not display an apparent cyto-selective profile, because it would appear that two complexes are toxic to all four model cell lines. The microscopic analyses of the cancer cells confirm results of cytotoxicity.

Abstract
Synthesis of a new series of diarylamides possessing 6,7-dimethoxy(dihydroxy)quinoline scaffold is described. Their in vitro antiproliferative activities against NCI-58 human cancer cell lines of nine different cancer types were tested. Compounds 1a and 1d-g showed the highest mean %inhibition values over the 58 cell line panel at 10 μM, and they were further tested in 5-dose testing mode to determine their IC50 values. The five compounds were more potent than Imatinib against all the cell lines of nine different cancer types. Compound 1g showed the highest potencies. It showed inhibitory effect against C-RAF kinase (76.65% at 10 μM concentration).
