Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the Turkish cultural and psychometric properties of the cancer fear scale developed by Feng et al. This methodological study was conducted between January and April 2024 with students from a university in eastern Turkey. Data were collected from two different sample groups (sample 1:350, sample 2:245). Personal information form and cancer fear scale were used. In the adaptation process of the scale, language validity, content validity, construct validity, and reliability were examined. Exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, measurement invariance and convergent-divergent validity were used to determine construct validity. Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficient, test-retest and corrected item-total correlation were used for reliability. According to the results of exploratory factor analysis, it was determined that the fear of cancer scale had a two-factor structure with factor loadings between 0.58 and 0.70. As a result of the confirmatory factor analysis performed on the two-factor structure of the fear of cancer scale, it was determined that the model goodness-of-fit indices were acceptable and had an excellent fit. It has been determined that measurement invariance findings across genders support configural, metric and scalar invariance. The Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficient of the fear of cancer scale was 0.93, and the corrected item total correlation values were between 0.45 and 0.73. The Turkish version of the fear of cancer scale was found to be a valid and reliable measurement tool.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is a common therapy for many hematologic malignancies. While advances in transplant practice have improved cancer-specific outcomes, multiple and debilitating long term physical and psychologic effects remain. Patients undergoing allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (allo-BMT) are often critically ill at initial diagnosis and with necessary sequential treatments become increasingly frail and deconditioned. Despite modern treatment regimens and support, cardiovascular disease remains a leading cause of non-relapse mortality among allo-BMT survivors. Well-established multi-disciplinary care models such as cardiac rehabilitation offer holistic care including exercise training, nursing support, physical/occupational therapy, psychosocial support and nutritional education. HSCT patients may be excluded from conventional outpatient physical rehabilitation programs due to prolonged pancytopenia and frequent hospital admissions. In Canada, dedicated cancer-specific rehabilitation programs are available only at major tertiary academic centers. METHODS The primary aim of this study will evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of a multimodal care navigation (nursing, exercise, nutrition) intervention with content delivery facilitated by a supportive care web-based 'app' extending from diagnosis to 1 year in the allogeneic bone marrow transplant population. Adult patients scheduled for allo-BMT will receive support from exercise specialist, nursing support and dietician expertise alongside a supportive care 'app' with additional in-person or virtual cardiac rehabilitation support. DISCUSSION To our knowledge, no research team is taking such a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to address the debilitating physiologic and psychological consequences of allo-BMT. We expect the findings to inform the optimal timing and patient preferences to develop studies examining risk-specific, individualized interventions (including exercise, pharmacotherapy, combination treatments) to reduce or prevent symptoms and dysfunction. We expect this innovative program to identify ways to benefit innumerable patients with hematologic and other malignancies. Ultimately, we hope to transform supportive care in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. TRIAL REGISTRATION Clinicaltrials.gov ID: NCT05579678.

Abstract
Long-term survivors of childhood cancer are at risk for financial hardship. However, it is not known if HCT leads to an incremental change in financial hardship for survivors who received it versus those who did not. We examined financial outcomes among adult survivors of childhood cancer who had undergone HCT. Using a cross-sectional survey in the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study population between 2017 and 2019, self-reported financial hardship was compared between survivors who received HCT, survivors treated without HCT ("non-HCT"), and siblings and categorized into 3 domains: material hardship/financial sacrifices, behavioral, and psychological hardship. The standardized score of each domain of financial hardship was calculated by adding the item responses and dividing by the standard deviation among siblings. Multivariable linear and logistic regression were used to evaluate associations between sociodemographic characteristics, cancer diagnosis, post-treatment complications, and financial hardship among survivors. The mean adjusted score for each hardship domain was not significantly different between HCT survivors (n = 133) and non-HCT survivors (n = 2711); mean differences were .18 (95% confidence interval [CI], -.05 to .41) for material hardship/financial sacrifices, .07 (95% CI, -.18 to .32) for behavioral hardship, and .19 (95% CI, -.04 to .42) for psychological hardship. Within specific items, a higher proportion of survivors treated with HCT reported greater financial hardship compared to non-HCT survivors. HCT survivors also had significantly higher mean domain scores compared to sibling controls (n = 1027) in all domains. Household income and chronic health conditions, but not HCT, were associated with financial hardship among all survivors. Adult survivors of childhood cancer treated with HCT do not report greater overall financial hardship compared to non-HCT survivors but do report greater overall financial hardship compared to sibling controls. Surveillance and intervention may be necessary for all survivors regardless of HCT status.

Abstract
Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) is an intensive but effective treatment for malignant and non-malignant diseases. However, long-term survival often comes at a cost, with survivors experiencing chronic morbidity and are at risk of relapse and secondary malignancy. This study aimed to describe decisional regret in a large cohort of Australian long-term allo-HSCT survivors. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 441 adults in New South Wales, assessing quality of life (QoL), psychological, social, demographic, and clinical variables. Less than 10% of survivors expressed regret, with chronic graft-versus-host disease being the most important clinical factor. Psycho-socioeconomic factors such as depression, lower QoL scores, lower household income, higher treatment burden, and not resuming sex post-HSCT were also associated with regret. Findings highlight the need for valid informed consent and ongoing follow-up and support for allo-HSCT survivors dealing with life post-transplant. Nurses and healthcare professionals play a critical role in addressing decisional regret in these patients.

Abstract
AIMS Given the increasing number of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantations (HSCT) performed world-wide, the increasing likelihood of survival following HSCT, and the profound physical, psychosocial, and emotional impact of HSCT on survivors, their carers and families, it is important to identify factors that may contribute to or support post-traumatic growth (PTG) after transplant. In this study, we aimed to investigate the prevalence of PTG in an Australian cohort of long-term allogeneic HSCT survivors and describe associations between PTG and relevant clinical, sociodemographic and psychological variables. METHODS This was a large, multi-centre, cross sectional survey of Australian HSCT-survivors inviting all those transplanted in New South Wales between 2000 and 2012. Respondents completed the PTG Inventory (PTGI), the Sydney Post-BMT Survey, FACT-BMT, DASS 21, The Chronic Graft versus Host Disease (GVHD) Activity Assessment-Patient Self-Report (Form B), the Lee Chronic GVHD Symptom Scale, and the Fear of Cancer Recurrence Scale. Data was analysed using independent t-tests, one-way analysis of variance, and pearson's correlations, and hierarchical multiple regression adjusted for potential confounders and to ascertain independent associations of explanatory variables with PTG. RESULTS Of 441 respondents, 99% reported some level of PTG with 67% reporting moderate to high levels of PTG. Female gender, younger age, complementary therapy use, anxiety, psychological distress and psychosocial care, and higher quality of life were associated with higher levels of PTG. Importantly, we also found that PTG was not associated with either chronic GVHD or post-HSCT morbidity. CONCLUSIONS In this study - the largest study of PTG in long-term allogeneic HSCT survivors - we found that growth appears ubiquitous, with 99% of survivors reporting some degree of PTG and 67% reporting moderate-high levels of PTG. Importantly, we found no association with GVHD or chronic physical post-HSCT morbidity, or adverse financial, occupational or sexual impacts. This suggests that it is the necessity for and experience of, HSCT itself that foments personal growth. Accordingly, healthcare professionals should be alert to the profound and wide-ranging impact of HSCT - and the degree to which survivor's may experience PTG. Identifying interventions that may assist HSCT survivors cope and building their resilience is of utmost importance.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To develop a Fear of Cancer Scale (FOCS) for non-cancer populations. METHODS FOCS was developed by classical measurement theory. A total of 15 college students were invited to conduct semi-structured interviews. Seven experts were invited for expert consultation. A total of 2012 Chinese college students who had completed the electronic questionnaire on WJX.cn platform was included. The reliability and validity of FOCS were verified. Multiple linear regression analysis was adopted to explore the influencing factors of cancer fear among college students and further verify the validity of FOCS. RESULTS There were 17 items in the FOCS, including two subscales - direct fear (8 items), and indirect fear (9 items). FOCS had good validity and reliability. Multiple linear regression showed that GAD-7 score, CSDS score, negative coping score, positive coping score, guardian's highest education, gender, life satisfaction, nationality and major were the influencing factors of cancer fear (p < .05). CONCLUSIONS The 17-item FOCS was a reliable and valid measure to examine the level of cancer fear in non-cancer populations.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW Employment is an important indicator of health and functional recovery for hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) survivors and has significant social and economic impacts. Cancer survivors treated with conventional non-HCT therapy are known to be at a higher risk of unemployment or not returning to work after completion of therapy compared with the control population. However, the literature on return-to-work challenges among HCT survivors remains limited. RECENT FINDINGS Here we summarize the evidence on prevalence and determinants of return-to-work challenges among HCT survivors using previously published literature. Findings from previously published research show that return to work or unemployment is a major concern among HCT survivors, especially for allogeneic HCT recipients, and prior studies have identified several modifiable risk factors associated with it. Survivors' post-HCT employment status is significantly associated with quality of life, impacting physical, emotional, social, and financial aspects of their lives. We also highlight the gaps in current knowledge such as limited information on employment outcomes of childhood, adolescent, and young adult HCT survivors; work-related challenges among employed HCT survivors; consequences of work-related challenges; and interventions to improve return to work among HCT survivors. Findings highlighted in this review make a strong case of a multidisciplinary return-to-work support for HCT survivors to properly address their needs.

Abstract
Introdução: Os avanços no tratamento relacionado ao câncer onco-hematológico têm resultado em um crescente número de pacientes submetidos ao transplante de células tronco-hematopoiéticas (TCTH) com êxito terapêutico, o que exige maior atenção com a qualidade de vida (QV) dos sobreviventes. Objetivo: Identificar a QV dos sobreviventes onco-hematológicos submetidos ao TCTH. Método: Revisão integrativa, entre 2011 a 2021, com busca nas bases de dados LILACS, MEDLINE, IBECS, SciELO e Biblioteca Cochrane. Utilizou-se a estratégia SPIDER para responder às questões norteadoras; e o nível de evidência foi classificado segundo o Instituto Joanna Briggs. Resultados: Vinte e seis artigos foram incluídos. Os instrumentos mais utilizados para medir a QV foram o Quality of Life Questionnare – Core 30 e o Functional Assessment Cancer Therapy-Bone Marrow Transplantation. Variáveis biopsicossociais, educacionais e clínicas, como comorbidades, antecedentes, condições epidemiológicas e tipo de condicionamento não influenciaram significativamente a QV dos sobreviventes onco-hematológico submetidos ao TCTH. A QV apresentou comprometimento na vigência de problemas físicos crônicos, reinternações, encargos financeiros, doença do enxerto contra o hospedeiro, fadiga, sintomas psicológicos, infecções recorrentes, disfunções no funcionamento sexual e fértil, neoplasias secundárias e sintomas físicos como dor e distúrbios do sono. Conclusão: O sobrevivente do TCTH mantém demandas de cuidados biopsicossociais que influenciam negativamente a QV, evidenciando a necessidade de cuidado multidimensional.

Abstract
Objective This cross-sectional correlational study aims to explore the relationship between social constraints and the quality of life of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HCT) survivors. Additionally, we also seek to demonstrate the chain mediating effect of illness perceptions and the fear of cancer recurrence on this relationship. Methods Convenience sampling was employed in this study. A total of 232 HCT survivors were interviewed using the Social Constraints Scale, the Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire, the Fear of Cancer Recurrence Inventory (Short Form) and the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Bone Marrow Transplant. IBM SPSS 24.0 were used for data analyses, and PROCESS macro (Model 6) was used to examine the hypothesized chain mediation model. Results A positive relationship between social constraints and quality of life verified the mediating effect of illness perceptions and the fear of cancer recurrence on this relationship. Social constraints affect the quality of life of HCT survivors via three pathways: the mediating role of illness perceptions, the mediating role of fear of cancer recurrence and the chain mediating effect of both factors. Conclusion The chain mediating effect of illness perceptions and the fear of cancer recurrence on quality of life indicates that these two variables have important practical significance with respect to improving HCT survivors' physical and mental health. The study thus serves as a reference for health workers to improve HCT survivors' quality of life in the future.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Allogenic blood and marrow transplant (allo-BMT) is an arduous treatment used increasingly for many life-threatening conditions. Recognition of the profound impacts of the long term and late effects is ever-growing, as is the healthcare workload (treatment burden) of survivorship. PURPOSE To quantify the treatment burden of long-term survival following allo-BMT, regarding the range of health services, therapies and investigations accessed by survivors. METHODS A large, multi-centre cross-sectional survey of adult allo-BMT survivors transplanted between 2000 and 2012 in Sydney, Australia. Participants completed six validated instruments and one purposed designed for the study, the Sydney Post BMT Study (SPBS), answering questions relating to medication use, medical treatments, referrals, assessments and frequency of hospital/clinic attendance. RESULTS Of the 441 allo-BMT survivors, over a quarter who were more than 2 years post BMT attended the hospital clinic at least monthly, and 26.7% required a number of regular medical procedures (e.g. venesection, extracorpororeal photopheresis). Specialist medical and allied health referral was very common, and compliance with internationally recommended long-term follow-up (LTFU) care was suboptimal and decreased as time from BMT increased. CONCLUSION Respondents reported a large medication (conventional and complementary), screening, assessment and health care burden. IMPLICATIONS FOR CANCER SURVIVORS Treatment burden contributes significantly to the 'workload' of survivorship and can have a severe and negative impact on BMT survivors, carers and the healthcare system-making it difficult to comply with optimal care. Clinicians must be primed with skills to identify survivors who are overburdened by the health care required for survival and develop strategies to help ease the burden.
