Abstract
In order to protect the copper against corrosion, a novel corrosion inhibitor known as diphenyl ((2-aminoethyl) amino) (4-methoxyphenyl) methyl) phosphonate (DAMP) was developed. Acid solutions of HCl and H2SO4 were the aggressive solutions employed in this study. Analysis using the FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 31P-NMR, 13C-NMR and BET confirmed that the DAMP was successfully synthesized. The anti-corrosion capabilities of DAMP are evaluated using a combination of chemical, electrochemical and quantum studies. The DAMP has been found to be crucial in preventing the corrosion of copper in both HCl and H2SO4 acid. This was obviously implied by the observation that the corrosion rate of copper in acid solutions decreased when DAMP was added. It is significant to note that 180 ppm produced the highest levels of inhibiting efficiency (96.6% for HCl and 95.2% for H2SO4). The tendency of DAMP to adsorb on the surface of copper through its hetero-atoms (O, N, and P) is the main factor for the anti-corrosion capabilities of DAMP. Results from SEM/EDX tests supported this. The actual adsorption takes place via various active centers, physical and chemical mechanisms that are coordinated with the estimated quantum parameters. Additionally, the adsorption of DAMP adheres to the Langmuir isotherm.

Abstract
Controlling metal corrosion can directly address the waste of metal and the environmental pollution and resource depletion caused by metal recycling, very significant factors for green and sustainable development. The addition of corrosion inhibitors is a relatively cost-effective means of corrosion prevention. Among these, N-heterocycles have been widely used because heteroatoms contain lone pairs of electrons that can be strongly adsorbed onto metals, protecting them in highly corrosive environments at relatively low concentrations. However, due to the large variety of N-heterocycles, their corrosion inhibition characteristics have seldom been compared; therefore, the selection of appropriate N-heterocycles in the development of anti-corrosion products for specific applications was very difficult. This review systematically analyzed the influence of different substituents on the corrosion inhibition performance of N-heterocycles, including different alkyl chain substituents, electron-donating and electron-withdrawing substituents, and halogen atoms, respectively. The correlation between the molecular structure and corrosion inhibition characteristics of N-heterocycles was comprehensively revealed, and their action mechanism was analyzed deeply. In addition, the toxicity and biodegradability of N-heterocycles was briefly discussed. This study has provided a significant guideline for the development of green, promising corrosion inhibitors for advanced manufacturing and clean energy equipment protection.

Abstract
The reaction of the starting compound, 7-acetyl-4-cyano-1,6-dimethyl-8-phenyl-7,8-dihydroisoquinoline-3(2H)-thione, with some N-aryl-2-chloroacetamides or chloroacetonitrile, in the presence of sodium acetate trihydrate, gave the corresponding substituted 3-methylsulfanyl-7-acetyl-4-cyano-1,6-dimethyl-8-phenyl-7,8-dihydroisoquinolines. Upon heating of the latter compounds with sodium methoxide in methanol, they underwent intramolecular Thorpe-Zeigler cyclization, affording the target isomers 1-amino-2-(substituted)-5,8-dimethyl-6-phenyl-6,7-dihydrothieno[2,3-c]isoquinolines (DHTIQs). The chemical structures of all produced substances were characterized by elemental and spectral analyses. The photophysical characteristics of the produced DHTIIQs (He1-Ph-Cl, He2-Ph-CH3, He3-Ph, and He4-CN) have been investigated as luminous compounds. Potentiodynamic, surface morphology, and theoretical calculations were used to study the behavior of the synthesized DHTIQs as corrosion inhibitors on mild steel in a 1.0 M sulfuric acid solution.

Abstract
We report the synthesis of novel [4-(3-amino-4-mehoxy-5-methyl phenyl)-1-oxo-1H-phthalaz-2-yl] acetic acid hydrazide (APPH), followed by its characterization using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transforms infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, 1H-NMR spectroscopy, and LC/MS. Further, the inhibition effect of the varying concentration of APPH on the corrosion of low steel (LCS) in 0.5 M H2SO4 was investigated by weight loss and electrochemical measurements at 30 °C. The percentage inhibition efficacy of APPH increased with concentration and reached about 84% at 0.5 mM at 30 °C, also rising to 88% after 6 h of exposure. According to the polarization measurements, the investigated APPH works as a mixed-type inhibitor. Furthermore, the synergistic corrosion inhibition mechanism APPH showed that the inhibition efficiency maximizes with increasing inhibitor concentration, and the maximum value was 83% at 0.5 mM APPH. The adsorption of APPH on the LCS surface is more fitting to the Langmuir isotherm model. The free energy value (–ΔG° ads) was 33.3 kJ mol−1. Quantum chemical calculation was applied to APPH and acted as excellent support for the experimental data.

Abstract
A rapid and new synthetic route for N,N'-di-o-tolyl guanidine (DTG) synthesis from cheap materials is reported. The performance of DTG as an excellent inhibitor for delaying copper (Cu) corrosion with an efficiency higher than 98% at 20 × 10-6 M in an acidic solution was investigated via electrochemical measurements. These measurements included PDP, EFM, and EIS spectroscopy. The experimental data indicated that DTG has an efficient inhibiting effect on the corrosion of Cu in acidic media. The DTG was adsorbed on to the Cu surface via chemical adsorption and followed the Langmuir route. The PDP measurements revealed that DTG acted as a mixed inhibitor. Furthermore, EIS data showed that the DTG adsorbed through the metal/electrolyte interface. This resulted in forming a DTG protective layer on the Cu surface, thereby impeding the dissolution of Cu in the acidic solution. The corrosive solution containing the DTG inhibitor after immersion of the Cu specimen for 48 h, which promoted the formation of a complex between the Cu cation and DTG, was investigated via ultraviolet/visible spectroscopy. In addition, the formation of a DTG protective layer on the Cu surface was confirmed via scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy analysis of the Cu surface morphology. Moreover, the active centers for interaction with the Cu surface in an acidic solution were investigated via in silico evaluation of DTG.

Abstract
Two salt cocrystals, C31H34N4O8 (DDD) and C17H20N2O8 (MDD), were synthesized and their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. DDD is made up of one (C13H13O8)- anion, one (C9H11N2)+ cation, and one 5,6-dimethyl-1H-benzo[d]imidazole molecule. MDD consists of one (C4H7N2)+ cation and one (C13H13O8)- anion. DDD and MDD belong to the monoclinic, P21/c space group and triclinic, P-1 space group, respectively. A 1D-chained structure of DDD was constituted by N-H···N and N-H···O hydrogen bonds. However, a 1D-chained structure of MDD was bridged by N-H···O hydrogen bonds. Their density functional theory-optimized geometric structures with a B3LYP/6-311G(d,p) basis set fit well with those of crystallographic studies. By calculating their thermodynamic properties, the correlation equations of C 0 p,m , S 0 m , H 0 m , and temperature T were obtained. By comparing the experimental electronic spectra with the calculated electronic spectra, it is found that the PBEPBE/6-311G(d,p) method can simulate the UV-Vis spectra of DDD and MDD. In addition, the fluorescence spectra in the EtOH solution analysis show that the yellowish-green emission occurs at 570 nm (λex = 310 nm) for DDD and the purplish-blue emission occurs at 454 nm (λex = 316 nm) for MDD.

Abstract
In the present study, corrosion inhibition performances of some pyrazolo [3,4-b] quinoline-3,5-dione derivatives against the corrosion of copper metal were investigated using B3LYP/6-311++g(d,p) calculation level in aqueous media. Additionally, interaction energies were calculated for all the pyrazoloquinoline derivatives compounds. In the calculations it is observed that studied molecules adsorb on metal surface with the help of electron donor heteroatoms in their molecular structures. Chemical thermodynamic parameters regarding the interaction between inhibitor molecule and copper surface were estimated and discussed. Density of the electron profile analysis and chemical electrostatic potential of nuclear charges in the molecule were applied to consider the nature of a number of probable interactions between Cu metal surface and inhibitors in terms of bond critical point (BCP). Calculated quantum chemical parameters showed that the pyrazoloquinoline derivatives including the OH and NO2 exhibit high inhibition performance.

Abstract
A series of new 4-alkoxy/aryloxyphenyl cyclopropyl methane oxime derivatives 2(a-k) were synthesized and fully characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and Mass spectrometry techniques. All the synthesized compounds 2(a-k) were assayed for in vitro antibacterial activity against a selected bacterial strain and the compound (2 h) and (2k) exerted excellent activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi strains. The potency of inhibitors and possible interaction mechanism of synthetic oxime (2k) with 1GQN enzyme on Salmonella typhi was explored by molecular docking method. Amongst the all synthesized compounds, the quantum chemical calculations were done for Cyclopropyl(4-(pyridin-3-ylmethoxy)phenyl)methanone oxime (2k). The first hyperpolarizability calculation performed in different solvent such as CHCl3, CH2Cl2 and DMSO and compared to the reference compound urea. In addition, natural bond orbital analysis (NBO), local reactivity descriptors, thermodynamic properties, Mulliken charges, molecular electrostatic potential (MEP), frontier molecular orbitals (FMO) analysis were explored using theoretical calculations.

Abstract
The inhibition efficiency of benzoic acid (C1), para-hydroxybenzoic acid (C2), and 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid (C3) towards enhancing the corrosion resistance of austenitic AISI 316 stainless steel (SS) has been evaluated in 0.5 M HCl using weight loss (WL), open circuit potential (OCP), potentiodynamic polarization method, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. The results obtained from the different experimental techniques were consistent and showed that the inhibition efficiency of these inhibitors increased with the increase in concentration in this order C3 > C2 > C1. In addition, the results of the weight loss measurements showed that these inhibitors followed the Villamil isotherm. Quantum chemical calculations and Monte Carlo simulations have also been used for further insight into the adsorption mechanism of the inhibitor molecules on Fe (110). The quantum chemical parameters have been calculated by density functional theory (DFT) at the B3LYP level of theory with 6-31G+(2d,p) and 6-31G++(2d,p) basis sets in gas and aqueous phase. Parameters such as the lowest unoccupied (ELUMO) and highest occupied (EHOMO) molecular orbital energies, energy gap (ΔE), chemical hardness (η), softness (σ), electronegativity (χ), electrophilicity (ω), and nucleophilicity (ε) were calculated and showed the anti-corrosive properties of C1, C2 and C3. Moreover, theoretical vibrational spectra were calculated to exhibit the functional hydroxyl groups (OH) in the studied compounds. In agreement with the experimental data, the theoretical results showed that the order of inhibition efficiency was C3 > C2 > C1. The corrosion inhibition efficiencies of benzoic acid (C1), para-hydroxybenzoic acid (C2), and 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid (C3) have been evaluated in 0.5 M HCl toward protecting AISI 316 stainless steel (SS).![]()
