Abstract
In an initiation to investigate a prospective bioactive compound, a mononuclear Ni(II) complex with N, N, and O donor Schiff base ligand was synthesized and characterized in the present study through FTIR, ESI-mass, and X-ray crystallographic diffraction studies. A slightly distorted octahedral geometry has been obtained for the Ni(II) complex from X-ray crystallographic diffraction studies. In vitro comprehensive biological studies show the antifungal specific efficiency of the complex against Colletotrichum siamense (AP1) and Fusarium equisetum (F.E.) pathogens, which are responsible for anthracnose and wilt disease, respectively, but no inhibitory effect on both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) for these pathogens was observed to be 0.25 and 0.5 mM, respectively. The experiment also reveals that significant damage of mycelia and enlarged, misshaped damaged spores are noticed in comparison to hexaconazole, used as a positive control under a light microscope post 48 h treatment of AP1 and F.E. with the MIC of the complex. The binding interaction studies of the complex with DNA and BSA performed through a variety of spectroscopic techniques demonstrate a strong binding behavior of the complex for both the binding systems. The observed negative ΔH° and ΔS° values for DNA reveal the existence of hydrogen-bonding/van der Waals interactions for DNA which was also exemplified from the molecular docking and self-assembly studies of the complex. The positive ΔH° and ΔS° values for BSA demonstrate the hydrophobic interactions of the complex with BSA. However, cytotoxicity studies against the MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell line did not demonstrate any significant potentiality of the complex as an anticancer agent. All the bio-experimental studies provide clear evidence that the synthesized Ni(II) complex exhibits potential antifungal activity and could be used as a therapeutic fungicide agent in comparison to hexaconazole in agricultural practices.

Abstract
Compound, (E)-5-(4-((thiophen-2-ylmethylene)amino)phenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-thiol (3) was synthesized via condensation reaction of 5-(4-aminophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-thiol with thiophene-2-carbaldehyde in ethanol. For the synthesis and structural confirmation the FT-IR, 1H, 13C-NMR, UV-visible spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry were carried out. The long-term stability of the probe (3) was validated by the experimental as well as theoretical studies. The sensing behaviour of the compound 3 was monitored with various metal ions (Ca2+, Cr3+, Fe3+, Co2+, Mg2+, Na+, Ni2+, K+) using UV- Vis. and fluorescence spectroscopy techniques by various methods (effect of pH and density functional theory) which showing the most potent sensing behaviour with iron. Job's plot analysis confirmed the binding stoichiometry ratio 1:1 of Fe3+ ion and compound 3. The limit of detection (LOD), the limit of quantification (LOQ), and association constant (Ka) were calculated as 0.113 µM, 0.375 µM, and 5.226 × 105 respectively. The sensing behavior was further confirmed through spectroscopic techniques (FT-IR and 1H-NMR) and DFT calculations. The intercalative mode of binding of oxadiazole derivative 3 with Ct-DNA was supported through UV-Vis spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, viscosity, cyclic voltammetry, and circular dichroism measurements. The binding constant, Gibb's free energy, and stern-volmer constant were find out as 1.24 × 105, -29.057 kJ/mol, and 1.82 × 105 respectively. The cleavage activity of pBR322 plasmid DNA was also observed at 3 × 10-5 M concentration of compound 3. The computational binding score through molecular docking study was obtained as -7.4 kcal/mol. Additionally, the antifungal activity for compound 3 was also screened using broth dilution and disc diffusion method against C. albicans strain. The synthesized compound 3 showed good potential scavenging antioxidant activity against DPPH and H2O2 free radicals.

Abstract
Pyrazine-bipyrazole-based µ-oxo bridged dinuclear Au(III) complexes were synthesized and characterized by various spectrometric (1H-NMR, 13C (APT) NMR, FT-IR, Mass spectrometry) and analytical techniques (elemental analysis and conductance measurement). The evaluation of DNA binding activity by UV-Vis absorption spectra and viscosity measurement demonstrated that all the compounds intercalate in between the stacks of DNA base pair and the binding constant values were observed in the range of 5.4 × 104-2.17 × 105 M-1. The molecular docking study also supports the intercalation mode of binding. The anti-proliferation activity of complexes on A549 (Lung adenocarcinoma) cells by MTT assay demonstrated IC50 values in the range of 47.46 -298.12 μg/mL. The genotoxicity of compounds was checked by smearing observed in the DNA of S. pombe cell under the influence of complexes. The in vivo cytotoxicity of compounds against brine shrimp demonstrated the LC50 values in the range of 4.59-27.22 μg/mL. The promising results of the Au(III) complexes received significant attention and make them suitable for the new metallodrugs after the detailed mechanistic biological study.

Abstract
Four binuclear Ni(II) complexes [[Ni2(H-DEAsal-tsc)2(μ-dppm)]·2Cl (1), [Ni2(DEAsal-mtsc)2(μ-dppm)] (2), [Ni2(DEAsal-etsc)2(μ-dppm)] (3) and [Ni2(DEAsal-ptsc)2(μ-dppm)] (4)] were synthesized from the ligands namely 4(N,N)-diethylaminosalicylaldehyde-4(N)-thiosemicarbazone [H2-DEAsal-tsc] H2L1/4(N,N)-diethylaminosalicylaldehyde-4(N)-methyl thiosemicarbazone [H2-DEAsal-mtsc] H2L2/4(N,N)-diethylaminosalicylaldehyde-4(N)-ethyl thiosemicarbazone [H2-DEAsal-etsc] H2L3/4(N,N)diethylaminosalicylaldehyde-4(N)-phenyl thiosemicarbazone [H2-DEAsal-ptsc] H2L4 and 1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino)methane (dppm) and characterized by a number of spectro analytical techniques. The molecular structure of complexes [Ni2(H-DEAsal-tsc)2(μ-dppm)]·2Cl (1) and [Ni2(DEAsal-ptsc)2(μ-dppm)] (4) have been confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The analysis indicated that in complex 1, the ligand [H2-DEAsal-tsc] coordinated as monobasic tridentate donor through phenolic oxygen, azomethine nitrogen and thione sulfur atoms. However, in complex 4, the ligand [H2-DEAsal-ptsc] behaved as dibasic tridentate donor with thiolate sulfur coordination. Their ability to bind with Calf Thymus Deoxyribonucleic acid (CT-DNA) and Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) were analysed spectrometrically. Intercalative interaction of the complexes with DNA was confirmed by ethidium bromide (EB) displacement studies and DNA viscosity measurements. The interaction mechanism of the complexes with BSA was found as static. In vitro antiproliferative studies of the ligands and complexes in A549 (human lung carcinoma cancer), MCF-7 (human breast cancer) and HeLa (human cervical cancer) cell lines witnessed significant cytotoxic nature of the complexes with low IC50 values (in μM) than the standard metallo-drug cisplatin. Further, the results of Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) and Nitric oxide (NO) release assays supported the effectiveness of the complexes on the above said cancer cells.

Abstract
Herein, we review developments in synthesis, structure, and biological (anti-cancer) activities of 1,1-bis(diphenylphosphino)methane (dppm) bridged homo- and heterobimetallic systems of the type LmM(μ2-dppm)M'Ln (M and M' are transition metals which may be different or the same and Ln,m are co-ligands) since the first such reported bimetallic system in 1987 until the present time (2020). As the simplest diphosphine, dppm enables facile formation of bimetallic complexes, where, given the short spacer between the PPh2 groups, close spatial proximity of the metal centres is ensured. We concentrate on complexes bearing no M-M interaction and contrast biological activities of these complexes with mononuclear counterparts and positive control agents such as cisplatin, in an attempt to elucidate patterns in the biological activities of these complexes.

Abstract
In biomedical applications, silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) are of great interest due to their cost-effective and environmentally friendly properties. Green synthesis of nanoparticles for biological research is a preferred choice since it does not require additional reducing agent. For this purpose, in this study, we aimed to synthesize the biogenic silver nanoparticles with the help of Rosa canina plant (Rc-Ag NPs) and then they have been tried for their antioxidant and antibacterial properties. UV-Vis spectrophotometer, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses were performed for characterization of Rc-Ag NPs. Antioxidant properties of silver nanoparticles synthesized with Rosa canina plant were investigated against 2,2′-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical (DPPH). DNA dissociation activity of synthesized Rc-Ag NPs was studied, and DNA dissociation activity was shown. The antimicrobial activity of Rc-Ag NPs was also tested using micro-dilution. According to the results, Rc-Ag NPs synthesized were found to be highly effective for anti-oxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, and DNA cleavage activities.

Abstract
The new ruthenium (III) complex has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV-Vis, EI-Mass, EPR spectroscopy, and magnetic susceptibility measurement. Cytotoxic effects of organoruthenium (II/III) complexes 1a, 1b, and 2a, and their ligands (TSC1 and TSC2) in cultured human ovarian (A2780, SKOV-3, and OVCAR-3) and colon (DLD, CCD18Co, and Caco-2) cells have been investigated comparing reactivity of the Ru (II/III) complexes and their free TSC ligands. The complexes exhibit higher cytotoxicity in three cancer cell lines than in normal cells. The binding with CT-DNA and BSA of the all complexes were weak compared with their ligand in spite of the cellular uptake of these complexes into the cytoplasm and then nucleus while their cytotoxic effects were vice versa. All the results showed that Complex 1b has more efficient cytotoxicity on the colon cancer cells than ovarian cancer cells. However, Complex 2a is a better drug candidate especially for antitumor therapy of metastasized ovarian cancer.
