Abstract
Polyfluoroaryl ethers represent an important framework of biologically active molecules and materials. Owing to the strong bond dissociation energy of C-F bond, selectivity and other issues, transition metal-catalyzed synthesis of polyfluoroaryl ethers from perfluoroarenes via the activation of C-F bond is challenging and underdeveloped, as compared to the well-documented C-O bond formation starting from aryl iodides, aryl bromides or aryl chlorides. Herein, an unprecedented Pd-catalyzed defluorinative etherification for the synthesis of polyfluoroaryl ether skeletons using hydrobenzoxazoles as phenol surrogate, has been reported. The substrate scope for this protocol is broad, with respect to hydrobenzoxazoles and perfluoroarenes, under mild reaction conditions. More importantly, challenging alkenyl and alkynyl substituted polyfluoroarenes could be successfully used as the cou-pling component for Pd-catalyzed etherification reaction. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were employed to investigate the reaction mechanism, which suggested that oxidative addition between polyfluorobenzene and Pd(0) constituted the rate-determining step.

Abstract
The first synthesis of unnatural β2,3,3 -amino acids with a spirocyclic backbone by one-pot protocol has been presented. This reaction features wide functional group tolerance and feasibility of post-functionalization of natural products and biologically important molecules. Novel dipeptide and tripeptide structures were assembled using this newly developed β2,3,3 -amino acid in high efficiency. The combination of C-H activation and C-C cleavage for the synthesis of β-amino acids would trigger more promising synthetic routes for this compound.

Abstract
Using dichloromethane (DCM) as the C1 feedstock, the first Pd(0)-catalyzed synthesis of aryl-methylene ether motifs from hydrobenzoxazoles (hydrothiazoles) has been reported. This protocol has exhibited an ample substrate scope (38 examples) and wide functional group tolerance. Aryl-methylene ether adducts have been successfully engaged in coupling with isocyanate to provide bis-iminoisoindolinones. In this reaction, DCM has served as a twofold electrophile for reaction with hydrobenzoxazoles via double C-Cl bond cleavage.

Abstract
Trifluoromethylated molecules have gained privileged recognition among the medicinal and pharmaceutical chemists. Sustainable photoredox- and electrochemical processes were employed to facilitate the relatively less explored radical cross-electrophile coupling to access trifluoromethyl- and allyl-substituted tert-alcohols. Reactions proceed through trifluoromethyl ketyl radical and allyl radical intermediates, which undergo challenging radical-radical cross-coupling. The developed transformations are mild and chemo-selective to give cross-coupled products and deliver a wide range of valuable trifluoromethyl- and allyl-containing tertiary alcohols. Both processes can also be applied for the synthesis of amine variant containing trifluoromethyl and allyl moiety, which is considered as amide bioisostere.

Abstract
Transition metal catalysed C-H bond activation chemistry has emerged as an exciting and promising approach in organic synthesis. This allows us to synthesize a wider range of functional molecules and conjugated polymers in a more convenient and more atom economical way. The formation of C-C bonds in the construction of pi-conjugated systems, particularly for conjugated polymers, has benefited much from the advances in C-H bond activation chemistry. Compared to conventional transition-metal catalysed cross-coupling polymerization such as Suzuki and Stille cross-coupling, pre-functionalization of aromatic monomers, such as halogenation, borylation and stannylation, is no longer required for direct arylation polymerization (DArP), which involve C-H/C-X cross-coupling, and oxidative direct arylation polymerization (Ox-DArP), which involves C-H/C-H cross-coupling protocols driven by the activation of monomers' C(sp2 )-H bonds. Furthermore, poly(annulation) via C-H bond activation chemistry leads to the formation of unique pi-conjugated moieties as part of the polymeric backbone. This review thus summarises advances to date in the synthesis of conjugated polymers utilizing transition metal catalysed C-H bond activation chemistry. A variety of conjugated polymers via DArP including poly(thiophene), thieno[3,4-c]pyrrole-4,6-dione)-containing, fluorenyl-containing, benzothiadiazole-containing and diketopyrrolopyrrole-containing copolymers, were summarized. Conjugated polymers obtained through Ox-DArP were outlined and compared. Furthermore, poly(annulation) using transition metal catalysed C-H bond activation chemistry was also reviewed. In the last part of this review, difficulties and perspective to make use of transition metal catalysed C-H activation polymerization to prepare conjugated polymers were discussed and commented.

Abstract
An unprecedented 1,3-dipole cycloaddition between acyclic CF3-ketimines and N-benzyl azomethine ylide has been allowed by tungsten catalysis, furnishing a range of novel imidazolidines bearing a trifluoromethylated tetrasubstituted carbon center. This reaction appears as one of rare examples that challenging acyclic CF3-ketimines have been engaged in 1,3-cycloaddition reactions. The capability for gram-scale synthesis and variant derivatizations of cycloaddition adducts illustrates the synthetic potential of this approach. This protocol provides a facile access to a rapidly enlarging pool of motifs with a trifluoromethylated fully substituted carbon.
